FYI to the folks here who, like me, are interested in saving a copy. You can actually watch these bink files outside of the game using Rad video tools. http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm
Just tried it on the specific file discussed here, after opening the application. Worked fine.
Now to figure out how to associate the file,
Symphonia is a great game to start with. The combat is really simple and the story is pretty good. Graces is a bit more friendly in the navigating aspect, but it's also significantly harder than Symphonia.
There are a number of guides on Gamefaqs. This one is pretty good. Usually you can figure out where to go by listening to the characters during cutscenes and then just doing some exploring.
For combat the main key to Symphonia is blocking. Don't forget about it. Otherwise don't forget to upgrade your gear every few towns. Raine is a great healer so be sure to have her in the party.
This sentence from the AnimeNewsNetwork article caught my eye:
> Lyra, an adult woman who had been waiting for someone with the potential to become a Fon Master
Translation: Crunchyroll, Funimation, and/or Daisuki will stream it upon release. Considering that Ufotable is handling the show, it'll likely air on either Crunchyroll or Daisuki. Ufo's big shows in the recent past -- God Eater (both) and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (Crunchyroll) aired on both streaming services.
Disclaimer You're not going to get their Platinum Trophy status, but you will get a couple of trophies for loading this file.

Yeah it's pretty much the end of the game. However if you didn't play with a walkthrough the first time, i'd recommend doing another with a walkthrough. Basically half the game is sidequests that you'll pretty much all miss if you dont have a walkthrough.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/945075-tales-of-vesperia/faqs/54222
This walkthrough is godlike. It covers about anything you can do. There's also a bonus dungeon after Duke, but it requires you to trigger a scene before the final dungeon, so i don't think you have access to it.
I felt the same way. Game endings like this one or where they basically wipe the slate clean and go "it didn't happen" irk me forever.
If you are ok with Elanor/Velvet then you might want to read this. It may be fanfiction, but I am taking it as the actual ending, because it doesn't make me want to vomit out of anger.
Setup x360ce: 1) Download the 32bit x360ce http://www.x360ce.com/ 2) Copy the x360ce.exe into your game directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Tales of Zestiria 3) Start x360ce.exe and make sure all your keys are correct, save and exit. 4) Rename xinput1_3.dll to xinput1_4.dll 5) Start Tales. 6) Open the control configuration and set player 1 to the first XBOX controller. 7) Close the game. 8) You should have your controller setup correctly at this point.
Disable player controls 2-4: 1) Open your app data folder %localappdata%\BANDAI NAMCO Games\Tales of Zestiria\ Or C:\Users\Skye\AppData\Local\BANDAI NAMCO Games\Tales of Zestiria\ 2) Open the file TOZ.cfg in a basic text editor. 3) Find the lines ControlScheme01=0,ControlScheme02=1, and ControlScheme03=-1 4) Change all three to -1 (-1 Disables that users controls). 5) Save the file TOZ.cfg 6) You should have users 2-4 disabled now.
At this point you should be able to open the game up and change your gamepad mappings without weird issues or other oddities..

Suggestive material and innuendo, alcohol, and language for Berseria.
You can look any game up to see a description of the "worst" things in it and why it got a rating.
I really dont want to be rude, but this question have been asked many times here. Just try to google it to see if there is anything related to your question before asking
I played it for the first time this year, and it took me 90 hours to complete. Granted, I play a little slowly sometimes, but how in the world did you play it in 30 hours?! 0_0 According to HowLongtoBeat even main-story-only playthroughs are usually longer than that.
In Tales of Phantasia, Arche is the worst cook. Not only is this statistically true, with her taking the longest to master any dish

It is also verified in an optional cutscene that happens in the future on the Isle where you fight Undine.
I'd say symphonia is a good place to start, it's still got the older battle and travel mechanics that get refined or replaced as the games progress, so you don't run the risk of starting new, going back and being unable to deal with the lack of certain features. It's also a great story with good characters, and the combat is fun. Personally my first tales game was abyss followed by graces, and those two are my two favorites so far. As far as symphonia goes, you have a synopsis that will tell you what's happened in the story, and there's a guide on gamefaqs that's pretty useful for lack of spoilers and completion, here http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/717862-tales-of-symphonia-chronicles/faqs/42708

Well... if you're desperate for Fan fiction there's Archive of Our Own. There is a Berseria section. Just be sure to filter out the explicit content, since that sits at the top... I guess people are easy to win over when you do that kinda thing...
Also, bit of shameless self promotion, I'm currently creating a full rewrite of Zestiria where I insert Velvet Crowe as a member of the main party. Plus I have several lore changes planned to make Zestiria feel more like a sequel after Berseria. You can read what I've got so far over here https://archiveofourown.org/works/14006034/chapters/32252976
I wouldn't know about Marta's quick artes disappearing - that may just be an unfortunate reality. I didn't experience that issue myself but I played single-player. Marta shouldn't leave the party too often - though the other characters will be in and out.
As for the monster system - it's not too important. You might want to check this monster breeding guide out - specifically the evolution trees. The crux of it is this: Tier 1 monsters cap at lv 25, tier 2 at level 50, tier 3 at 100, and tier 4 at 200. Not all monsters have a tier 4. Sometimes, to promote monsters into their top tier you need to synthesize special statues to equip on them that are very hard to make (they require Philosopher's stones which are pretty much only available as rewards from lv 80 quests).
So if you just want some monsters that will get you by when people are out of the party, I'd recommend just keeping some Tier 3 monsters around. Make sure to feed them when you get the chance to boost their stats. I only was able to get one top tier monster (Harpy->Furie->Fenia) because I was only able to synthesize the bird family promotion statue. Fenia's are amazing casters, but other than that I had a Cave Bear (Bear->Grizzly->Cave Bear) and a Crusader (Dullahan->Night Stalker->Crusader). Since they cap at level 100, they were more than competent to hold themselves in battle.
That was a long explanation but the takeaway is just make sure to promote a couple monsters to tier three and keep them around.

Dude. PS TV. They're like... 40 bucks. And if you hook it up to a monitor it works pretty well. Plus you can use a ps4 controller and the touch screen works for the link chase stuff. It's worth it for tales and persona alone.
I couldn't bring myself to buy a vita either.
For Destiny 2 and Rebirth, as those were amongst my first few import games, I remember relying heavily on translation guides back then. Lanyn's contributions on GameFaqs were amazingly helpful.
Over time I've gotten more used to playing through the import titles and I haven't used one since starting Innocence. Most JRPGs tend to work with the same pool of vocabulary and with some studying on grammar structure I can make it through the games just fine. I'm nowhere near fluent, but it's fairly easy for me to follow along and understand the story nowadays.
I know there's a full translation guide on Hearts out there somewhere, but I don't know if there's a version being used for Hearts R since I never really sought it out. A little searching should uncover it though. There's a patch for Innocence DS, but I'm not sure if there's a collected/edited translation guide for Innocence R.
This thread discusses the same thing http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/616012-tales-of-xillia/66978464
But to copy and paste the most relevant answer:
"When humans die in the Xillia-verse, their souls are purified, memories lost, and they turn into lesser spirits. Their spirit form greatly resembles their original human form. That's why Milla had the green hair and red eyes in the spirit world.
With Milla though, the Four interrupted the purification process in an attempt to preserve the original Milla and her memories since they no longer agreed with the true Maxwell's actions. When Milla returned to the party, she was a lesser spirit in the human realm, with her memories intact. It was basically a new body, which is why she no longer needed the aspyrixis anymore."
Hope that helps!
[](/c03) Sorry... I have been a bit unclear... Actually, I wasn't going to play 2 games at once, but only one, and to only read the script from the XBox version. Like this one for Tales of Symphonia 2.
However, I did some crazy things in my lifetime, that's true. I completed one game, Little Busters!, which was completely in Japanese (I didn't know the language that well when I started), translating every word which I didn't know, by a pocket dictionary. Which meant drawing the kanji, ahaha. There were easier ways to do it, like, using a special program which gets the text from the game, and translating it by google translate, but I wanted to do it this way. Took me about 1.5 years, I think.
[](/a23 "A brony who also likes Tales?! Yay! I'm going to tag you at least!")
He's watching an old sizzle real, specifically, this one, and not playing the game. What you can see on the screen in that commercial lines up with this video, as well. Not everything they show in the video is a PS4 game. Go to 1:36 in the video, same scene with fused Sorey.

Got this from GameFaqs
Each time you dualize a weapon you increase its base stats by a certain amount dependent on the quality of the items.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/604158-tales-of-graces-f/faqs/64008
is probably a good place to look if you want a more indepth look at the system. It looks like its not complete however.
Kind of. Not as-is, but there's a pretty cheap thing called Swap Magic that allows it. It's basically a disc the PS2 loads that helps it bypass region locks, the only trick is you need to remove a screw from the disc tray and use what's called a "slide tool" to manually open the disc tray while the swap magic disc is in there. It sounds more complicated than it is, it's pretty easy, and it in no way alters or modifies your PS2 aside from removing that screw.
Here's an amazon link to what I'm talking about, for reference:
https://www.amazon.com/Swap-Magic-Coder-2-Disc-Slide/dp/B001BZCECU
I will note that I don't believe this works on slim PS2s, so you may want to double check the list of compatible model numbers and compare it to your PS2 if you have one.
>Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
Just heard about the book today again so i might end up reading it.
How is the book by the way? Or more so, what was the aspect that stood out?
I agree so much with this. There's a lot of depth once you look into the story more, and Sorey really is a great character. He's very smart and can be a bit of a hot head(I love that). He is very misunderstood which is quite sad.
I think BAMCO did a good job on there themes of passion. I really got a good grasp on what it wanted to have me understand about the game.
Just checked both of the entries. Hale 3 was removed. tales of zestiria is listed now as TOZ.
tales of zestiria https://steamdb.info/sub/61325/ Halo 3 https://steamdb.info/app/216800/subs/ Sorry on phone and can't hyperlink.
Yeah there is a huge difference between the two entries. I don't know why halo 3 was there but ToZ looks like a serious entry.
I think one other big thing why game series like Tales isn't very popular on the western side of the globe, is the colourful anime art style. Many gamers associate it with stuff made for children.
Another thing IMO is slower progression in cinematics/story with Japanese games. Or story parts where the main plot doesn't advance and it's kind of like, uhh, slice-of-life stuff. And then I think I've come across some gamers who were put off by "too feminine looking male characters".
Also many people who are not familiar with anime/Japanese pop culture tend to think the characters are way younger than they actually are in the game. And quite often in JRPG's the characters are teenagers... It's just a culture thing, Japanese people like cute stuff and tend to think that the age between like 15-20 is the best time of your life. Here in west I think adults aren't "allowed" to like cute stuff.
Ofc I personally would rather indulge myself in a world that looks like this than one that looks like this. If I want to get into a world that looks like the latter, I just need to go outside. For half of the year it has the same sweet colour palette of brown-greys as well, anyway.
Well actually that's false ( http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/616012-tales-of-xillia/66345722 ). Also it is just my opinion. In the end it is all subjective although, even objectively Vesperia still wouldn't be bottom 5...

on Eenba to get Ultimate for under 70$. It's what I did. I could've gotten the normal one for closer to 50, but I figure this was I was "only" paying about 8$ for the Ultimate upgrade.
This is very comprehensive: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/717862-tales-of-symphonia-chronicles/faqs/54900
This is simpler for quick references: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/942210-tales-of-symphonia-dawn-of-the-new-world/46768877
There's always translation guides like this one: http://www.gamefaqs.com/psp/942209-tales-of-rebirth/faqs/52311 I used something similar for Hearts. It was difficult to get used to at first, but incredibly helpful later on.
I'm not sure if you've played Tempest, but I was surprised to learn that it is on a 3 plane system as well. I'll see eventually how many similarities there are between the two systems.
It's up on Funimation but you need a subscription. It'll also be up on Daisuki soon but I don't know if you need a subscription for that one. (Apparently it's already up there but it's not showing for me in Canada so maybe I'm just in a region that has the one week delay. :/)
Those are the only legal places to watch it. :P
I apologize if you've already thought of this and decided against it for whatever reason, but have you considered using a DirectInput to XInput program like X360ce or gamepad to keyboard and mouse application such as older/free versions of XPadder or JoyToKey? When I'm not using my Xbox 360 controller, I almost never bother trying to use a game's button mapper anymore.
I haven't used it myself, but Steam's Big Picture Mode also has a button mapper. Plus, there are a bunch of free alternatives to more recent versions of Xpadder and JoyToKey: https://alternativeto.net/software/xpadder/?license=free .
How to Disable players controls 2-4 and Setup a non Xbox Gamepad Here are the full instructions
At this point you should be able to open the game up and change your gamepad mappings without weird issues or other oddities..

i'm not entirely sure, when i made this meme like an hour ago i thought it was gonna be released at 3 AM on my timezone but then i did the first grade maths my 3 braincells can handle and noticed i was wrong, looked it up a bit, some say it's 6PM EST others 8PM EST, being dumb af and unable to figure it out i googled "how much time left until tales of arise release" and the website said a whole 24 hours, i don't know what to believe anymore :(
This is the website i checked(i want to believe this is wrong): https://www.igdb.com/games/tales-of-arise/countdown
You can play the japanese version of Tales of the Rays. I play it for about 4 months now, without speaking japanese. English wiki and guides are very helpful, reddit and the discord are very quick with help and translations. Unfortunately you will miss all the "story". But i find it fun enough to collect my favorite characters.
Its still a gatcha game. So im not sure if your willing to play something like this. Im not really an expert on these, but i find the drop rates pretty fair. You can get pretty far without ever putting up real money (when you cant read the store you are pretty much forced to anyway).
If your into trying, i recommend this guide. To get started you have to download this app, because you cant access the japanese playstore to download the game. The app acts as a seperate playstore that can install and update your game.
>To make a story impactful and believable - regardless of genre - you need to have a dynamic and ever-evolving protagonist. This is known as a round character.
Have you tried BlueStacks for playing android games on PC? You could then just hook up a computer to your TV and play with mouse and keyboard. That's the only alternative I could think of at the moment.

None of us got any preorder codes. We all know it is Amazon's problem. They are utterly useless, and Bandai Namco takes forever to reply.
I got the exact same email. Out of curiosity I used the way back machine to see if anyone captured the page before they changed the ad. Looks like they did. https://web.archive.org/web/20210908221404/https://www.amazon.ca/Namco-Bandai-12198-Tales-Arise/dp/B07SMBNTSY
Bastards.
That's the price on Amazon in my region (US):
Unless this is the wrong title. The Japanese imports go for less but I don't believe they have English subtitles. Prices on ebay seem somewhat similar but I can probably score one for cheaper if I'm patient.
I might see if I can score one on Ebay (or elsewhere) for less but if not then I'll just purchase it off PSN.
if you mean a physical copy, here's the amazon link.
if you're referring to scans online scans online, im afraid i cant help you there. sorry!
I expect mobile gacha games to bring related discussions to their own sub-community. Do you expect or even want for example, r/KingdomHearts to be filled with Kingdom Hearts Union X news just because it's the title in the franchise that gets the most frequent news updates?
It's 20 dollars on Steam right now. It's as good a time as any to buy it on the straight and narrow. Also, once you get another hard drive, you might be able to connect your old one with a USB enclosure and use an app like Recuva to grab any files that are still good, hopefully including your save.
Edit: as a fellow fan, I feel your pain, I only just picked up Berseria last night. However, there are other Tales games you can get for cheap, and given Namco Bandai's history of not bringing certain games over to the states, we'd really love the next one to make it over. Please try to support the series if you can.

On queue, it's on sale for $40 via Amazon today :) For PS4 anyway. Tales are one of the few series I buy on release to support Bandai and show them that I want more :D
I consider myself a "collector," but nowhere near that level.
I'm just happy owning a version of every game that was released in America.
Although I did drop $50 on a book I can't read, solely for my collection...
It appears to be available again on amazon.ca, get it now while you can. I can't seem to find it while searching though, so here's the link: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01LY3WFEJ
Edit: Already sold out.
Pretty much what everyone else has already stated. Personally, as much as I love Tales of Symphonia (seeing as it was my first Tales game), one of the things that always bugged me were a few of the characters that I wish had a little bit more added to a backstory on them. Case in point being Regal and Presea. I felt that they were just kind of in the background and had they'd been NPC's things would have been a little more interesting for those two. Other than that, there weren't many issues I had with TOS. I'd say start with that installment next and then work your way up. I see that you don't have a 360 BUT if you do get one if the future, I highly recommend picking up Tales of Vesperia. Due to the fact that TOV can be a little bit tricky at times. The gameplay is pretty over the top for the time it was released (2008). On a plus side, if you obtain the Japanese release for the PS3, you can get some extra little neat features such as school uniforms and other stuff. That tends to be the same for the Japanese versions of a lot of other Tales installments as well. Oh, PS3 Japanese version for Vesperia. Amazon has about five left at the reasonable price level. Otherwise, you'll be paying out of the butt for it from some other sellers.http://www.amazon.com/Tales-Vesperia-Playstation3-Import-Playstation-3/dp/B0088VGTLW
> and generally you don't have a good controller that emulates a DS d-pad very well...
It's pc dude, you can use whatever controller you want. The graphics can even be internally upscaled and AA'd to be crisp as fuck.
I'm sorry to hear about your apartment. Maybe you can buy an empty game case (E.g. http://www.amazon.com/Empty-Standard-Replacement-Boxes-Cases-Playstation/dp/B00B5JIHKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424760839&sr=8-1&keywords=vita+replacement+case) and then print out the Tales of Hearts R picture? I can scan my copy if you want (though I don't know how to do the sizing).
