But IRL you should have carpet dividers under where the door would be, so it wouldn't look as bad.
It would also stop the door from catching on loose carpet and pulling it up.
Some background: it's a little-known fact that if a Sim takes medicine when they're not sick, it makes them stoned out of their gourd. And, because Basemental Drugs is a bit too realistic for the Sims purist in me, I decided to make a lore-friendly "budget" alternative- a mod that allows Sims to buy medicine from DJs (and eventually doctors as well).
I've nearly gotten it working. Nearly. 😩
Have a look at more pictures here. The Sims looks like a completely different game with the overhauled lighting! I'm extremely happy to see such a classic game look even more pleasing!
It came out awhile ago (2011), I'm not at home at the moment so I can't check Origin, but according to this site it is. I have it on CD. It plays differently from the Sims games you know, but it's still a fun experience and the humour in it is pretty great.
A bit like this: http://www.openculture.com/2016/06/when-charlie-chaplin-entered-a-chaplin-look-alike-contest-and-came-in-20th-place.html , i'd imagine ;).
Not necessarily. https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/ shows that an AI can put together something that looks very human (and the occasional nightmare fuel in the background.) Though I do agree it was likely done by an artist considering how different Vlad and Malcolm look compared to the Sim versions.
There was some thinkpiece on Kotaku a month or two ago where the author was bitching about the trait. While the article made some good points, I thought it was honestly incredibly contradictory to itself.
Here it is if you want to read it
I'm sure the devs have been getting feedback about the name of that trait for a while, so I'm not giving all the credit to that thinkpiece but I can see how something from a big publisher like Kotaku would give a stronger nudge considering the trait has been in the games since TS3.
I don't really care either way what the trait is named but erratic is probably a better description of the trait anyway. I'm sure there will be someone who still gets upset over that though.
Lol, I may sound like it, but I'm not. Nothing I can do to prove it otherwise... fuck EA? Fuck 'em. 10 expansions for the Sims 3 and I bought every single one of them! That's almost 500$ worth of game I spent last gen and there is no way it was worth all of that! But they keep getting me because they leave out toddlers to suck you into a 'Family' expansion pack. They leave out pools to suck you into a 'Weather' expansion pack.
And I bet you they will tease us with animals and a 'Downtown' destrict we can load to down the line as well... that's why I want a friggin' season pass so I can get a deal on this cash grab.
Maybe I should sit this one out though... save some money. I should just go outside or something. World Cup is on, maybe I should get back into soccer. Speaking of the World Cup have you guys checked out the new FIFA 14™ Digital Deluxe from EA?
Looks pretty good, why don't you check it out?
Getting it all, with no discount would be around $18.33/month.
Expansions: $40x2=$80
Game Packs: $20x4=$80
Stuff Packs: $10x6=$60
Total: $220/12=$18.33
Average sale prices so far:
Expansions: $27-$30 (Source)
Game Packs: $15 (Source)
Stuff Packs: I've yet to see any sales directly effecting Stuff Packs.
Some Breakdowns
If anyone feels milked with Sims 4 releases, you'd feel absolutely fleeced with Sims 3.
The Store ~$15-$20 (x60 months)
Stuff Packs ($20 x8)
Expansions ($40 x11)
New Worlds ($20-$25 x10).
The grand total for all things Sims 3 + Base game comes to ~$4,070+50=$4,120 give or take $50 for various things that may be missed. That leads to an average of $824 per year.
($18x60)+($20x8)+($40x11)+($23x10)+$50=$4,120/5 (years)= $824/Year
Assuming that Sims 4 goes the same route and lasts 5 years, you're looking at $1,170 total, or $234/year.
Deluxe Edition $70
2 Expansions a year = 10 x $40
4 Game Packs a year = 20 x $20
6 Stuff Packs a year = 30 x $10
Edit: I did some math.
Just a tip: if you decide to do it this way, TunnelBear is an easy and free VPN you can use. Just bear (ha!) in mind that all you have to do is activate the download while the VPN is active, wait until Origin starts downloading the game, and then deactivate the VPN. This is important because VPNs (like TunnelBear) have a monthly bandwidth limit per user and it's not anywhere near high enough to download an entire expansion.
Origin says “host a summer pool party” and other retailers have that too in the pack description. A tradition is “water fun”, so it could mean we could create it as a holiday like you said. Trying to find a screenshot from when they opened the party menu on stream
>Your Game Time starts whenever you want it to. Just add it to your Origin Game Library now, and begin your 48 hours at your leisure – the Game Time clock won’t start ticking until you've fully downloaded the game and launched it for the first time. That way, you can wait to enjoy your free time with The Sims 4 whenever you want, whether that be next week or next month. It’s a real-time clock, though, meaning it’ll keep ticking whether or not you’re actively playing – make sure you set aside enough time. Once you've started playing, we'll send you occasional in-game notifications letting you know how much time you have.
Love this! I am actually doing a personal challenge where I am building each type of house.

That wasn't uninspired, you just took inspiration from old European manor homes! Hallways are for servants!
Seriously though, they were. The concept of connecting hallways was so servants could move unseen through the house and just appear where they were needed. No need for the nobs to see the peons. If you're interested, I highly suggest At Home, by Bill Bryson, a room-by-room historical perspective over the evolution of a western home.
Just a heads up for anyone looking to use a VPN to download early: the most popular/simple one, TunnelBear, can be kinda finicky with Origin. I used CactusVPN's
For anyone too lazy to click:
>Just a year and a half after launching Origin Access and the vault of free games it includes, Electronic Arts has announced that it will add The Sims 4 Base Game to the freebie list. If you plan to subscribe to Origin Access, the base game will be available July 11th.
>“Origin Access” is a subscription service that includes a 10% discount on all digital content through the Origin store. The Sims 3 Starter Pack is also included with this service, among numerous other games available through The Vault. To learn more, see the FAQ.
I'm not sure yet, but they alluded to dating the grim during one of the live streams.
There are two hidden neighborhoods. One is through a tree, and one is through an abandoned mine entrance, but you have to have level 10 Handiness to get through the mine collapse.
Here's a link showing how to get to them. http://www.gamefront.com/the-sims-4-how-to-unlock-hidden-lots/
Free VPNs are risky, everyone even a bit tech-savvy can tell you that. No one knows what they're doing with its users' personal data, but they have to get money from somewhere... I'm using Nord, but heard that Astrill is also pretty okay, so I'd say to look into these, or read more articles about it, for example here.
Both probably. I'm just stating what they said on their blog.
> A few months ago we were contacted by EA regarding how the TSO IP should be handled. At that time, you may have noticed a change in logo to avoid the house motif, the addition of multiple disclaimers to our websites, and further insistence on taking no donations for server costs (really, no change). Given even just its relevance to me, The Sims’ IP is clearly something that is worth EA protecting from any potential damage, so I complied with these terms immediately out of respect.
You can filter by style, room, country, colour, metro area, budget and popularity.
You can also save photos to collections, where they are organised and you can come back to them.
It is designed for real life houses, but it’s useful for The Sims.
Hi, I'm a designer on The Sims 4. Trying out a game before purchasing it is a great idea, however...
Please don't torrent (pirate) our game! It really does impact the studio and the people who work hard to make it.
Fortunately, we've made it easy for you to try before you buy. You can get a 48 hour demo of the full game on Origin:
https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/the-sims/the-sims-4/standard-edition
Also, EA has a "great game guarantee" where you can return games you don't enjoy (as long as they meet the return conditions): https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/great-game-guarantee
So yeah, you probably don't mean any harm by it, but piracy really does affect people (and not just the rich ones running companies).
Thanks, hope you continue to enjoy whichever version of The Sims you like best!
I do know that EA specifically made the game so it was capable on running on a lot of low-end computers - maybe try this website to see if your girlfriends laptop will work?
Overall I think that Sims 4 might be more fun for her to get because new free content keeps coming out, its what the entire community is talking about ect. and seems to be far more bug-free than Sims 3.
It's also $20 on Amazon! (When you get it in the box, not the access code)
I live in the Midwest USA and I did this when Cats & Dogs came out. I downloaded a VPN service called TunnelBear and used their free trial so it looked like I was in New Zealand. Worked like a charm!
The Sims 4 is a very polarizing game. There are hundreds of reasons why you should play it and hundreds of reasons why you shouldn't. It's best to just form your own opinion. You can try it free for 48 hours:

Past essential mods like MCCC, I think my favorite might be Emotional Inertia. The emotion system in the game (like so many of the mechanics) just feel waaaay too easily broken. Base game it's super easy to set your mood to anything. Walk through a house with mood auras and your mood swings wildly. Emotional Inertia makes them stick around a bit longer, a bit harder to change. You still have enough control to be able to set your mood for work, but not so much that you can rapidly switch between them all.
Really just nice to go ahead and get most of the mod author's mods. True Happiness, Uncomfortable Overhaul, and Variable Emotion traits all play great together. It's no wonder the author is working on combining them into a more in depth mod to overhaul the whole emotional system.
For those wondering, St. Claire is fairly tough to find since it was caught in a TS3 purge by MediaFire a few months ago. Some kind user from ModTheSims uploaded everything here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/V03sfSW0ce/StClaire.html
Angel City is available at the TS3 exchange here: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8274654
The 48 hour trial is no longer available, but Origin has a "Great Game Guarantee" return policy which will let you return any game you don't like within 24 hours of the first time you launch the game.
While not quite as hassle-free as the 48 hour trial, it does mean you can try the game and not be stuck with the cost if you don't have a good time.
You can read the details here: https://www.origin.com/en-us/great-game-guarantee
One reason why I ditched Mac because it's outright inferior when it comes to gaming. Partly because Windows is always top priority when it comes to game development, while Mac is an afterthought. Unfortunately, "get a PC instead" is not convenient advice for most Mac users.
If you're willing to spend money, but not enough to by a new computer outright, consider Boot Camp. You'll have to buy a copy of Windows, but you'll be able to play TS4 on your Mac this way.
And honestly, the Store content interests me more than all the stuff packs. Sucks that you can't download. Look into that more and see if it's your computer (maybe your firewall is blocking it?) or your account.
You can bypass the download block..I hate TSR ads they lag my PC I saw a way to do this on a comment TSR skipper chrome extension and it actually works & lets me download. I just cut out the extension stuff this person said..
Also Using the TSR Skipper Extension I can download in mere seconds browsing the site is not slow at all given use https://www.standsapp.org & just remove anything that may get through the original blocker. I would never pay that site for VIP, there will always be a way around.

"1.Find your download 2. right click the downloads info page anywheres 3. open page source 4. find the first long link with downloads in the name 5. highlight it right click and go to 6. soon as the download button shows click it boom works everytime (for now )"
You need Sims 3 Pets and Sims 3 Supernatural. Sims 3 Ambitions is optional. (The only thing used from that is the light outside the front door.) You also need to download the spiral stairs. (They're custom content.) The Stairs / The House 4shared Link
Like I said in the title, I spent a really long time on this house, and it's the first time I've ever done a planned out house project like this.
It's on sale at origin too.
Couple of the games including the base game are cheaper here.
"when EA does bad thing, most people remember it, but when EA does good thing, less people remember it"
~~me
come on, people, use great game guarantee, why the fuck do you think EA made that?
Hey, I made this! The huge (positive!) response to it kinda made me back away from the internet for a while, and I also never really managed to relax and enjoy the game again after that experience.
But I am now enjoying The Sims 4, and also making mods for it. https://itch.io/c/227877/mods-for-the-sims-4 If you've read Alice and Kev, you'll know the kind of play and stories I want from The Sims, and can maybe imagine what direction I'm trying to take the game in with my mods.
It can be a bit finicky sometimes. Closing down the entire Origin program (using Task Manager or restarting the computer if needs be) and then opening TunnelBear while the program is closed might work. Also, you only need to have the VPN running when the download starts. Wait for it to get going, pause it, turn off the VPN, wait a moment for your real Internet to restart, and then unpause.

You can actually sell your items and deliver them to those who ordered it. This one is from Origin.

Grow your gardening career. Create beautiful bouquets and unearth new discoveries in the gardening career. With a newfound green thumb as a floral designer, Sims craft flower arrangements and make deliveries around town. More scientific Sims can become a botanist, where they’ll analyze plants, write scientific papers and gain notoriety to earn grants. Advance your Sim’s budding talents to unlock fresh skills, new outfits and handy objects.
Look for sales on Origin: I see the game as 50% off today, there's some promotions every 1-2 months, you can also try it for free for 48 hours.
I always watch Lazy Game Reviews to decide on buying a pack, he shows all the main features.
If you have the Sims 3, then it's a big adjustment - obviously they can't replicate all the cool stuff from the Sims 3 immediately. When 3 let you travel to France, Egypt and China, 4 gives you a 5-lot forest. Late Night had apartments, vampires and celebrities, City Living has apartments and festivals, Vampires have their own game pack, no celebs yet.
I personally liked 4 from the start, there's a lot to be done in the base game with building, the families, a dozen careers and lifetime goals. It also runs a lot smoother - 3 won't run on my machine anymore without huge pauses for rendering, I'm not sure why.
Niksim's Recolors might be just what you're looking for. In addition to his website, which has recolors of all the Maxis meshes, I would suggest searching the niksim tag on tumblr as a lot of other creators have used his palette to recolor various cc meshes.
Considering that The Sims 4 falls under Origin's Great Game Guarantee policy, I see no reason why anyone who is even on this subreddit let alone thinking of buying this game wouldn't buy/preorder.
I see a lot of posts around the internet saying 'Cancelled my pre-order!' or proclaiming that they will '...no longer be buying this game', after a news article comes out saying that there are no recycling bins.
Seems like that's just inefficient consumer behavior right there. Everyone can play the full version of TS4, for free, for 24 hours and test the game out for themselves instead of watching a video over someone's shoulder.
Play the game, decide, then get your money back. No lose scenario.
If you decide to get the Sims2 you MUST MUST MUST get Nightlife and University. Due to them being older you can buy this nifty 3 pack of 1 expansion and 2 stuff pack for $30. eg http://www.bestbuy.com/site/The+Sims+2%3A+Best+of+Business+Collection+-+Windows/9570001.p?id=1218126044900&skuId=9570001&st=the%20sims%202&lp=14&cp=1
Nightlife has downtown and cars = essential. University is unique to the Sims 2. Each expansion pack is great depending on what you personally want to play with.
A .zip is a compressed folder, you will need to open it and take the .package file out of it then put the .package in your mods folder. A .rar is an archived file and you will need to download a program I recommend 7-zip.
Oh... this is tempting. Amazon also seems to have a bundle with Outdoor Retreat and Cool Kitchen stuff for $25.98, which is only a slight discount but also tempting.
The Sims 4 was designed to run well on most computers, so it should run fine. Just to be sure (I'm not an expert by any means), I'd definitely recommend trying out this website. I use it a lot to see how well my rig can handle certain games. You just download a tool and it scans your specs, then compares it to the game's minimum and recommended specs.
I want to say you can try Sims 4 free for 48 hours on Origin?
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/free-games/game-time
The biggest mistake I made was thinking S4 would be S3, only newer. If you can look at S4 as a separate game, and NOT compare it to 3... It'll be a lot better IMO.
isthereanydeal.com - make an account, create a waitlist with just sims 4 on it, set your own price point as to how much you're willing to pay, and they'll email you when a website is offering ts4 for sale at or below your threshold.
just as a quick glance, GMG has a voucher for 20% off, which is the biggest discount for ts4 currently; its historical lowest price was 50% off on the origin store 7 months ago, and most recently it was 40% off on the origin store 18 days ago. most likely you'll find the steepest discounts hitting around the holidays, especially as other websites try to compete with steam's winter sale.
> it's like a glorified Sims 1
That's a good way to describe TS4, imo.
It's just so booooring, especially when I've got TS3. There's just so much to do.
It never really clicked before how much like TS1 it is. It's very limited.
I painted it in manually using a free program called Krita. There’s a much easier and quicker way of removing the background, though, called the Magic Wand tool. You simply select that tool in Krita, click on the background (sometimes multiple times to select everything) and then delete. Then you can clean up the edges with the eraser brush. Next, create a new layer with a solid white colour under the Sims layer, right click the Sims layer, and then Merge Down. That will combine both layers together and give you the same result as me. All you have to do after that is crop your picture, and then you’re done!
Buy a CD key. Cheapest option every time. I got mine from http://www.cjs-cdkeys.com/products/The-Sims-4-Limited-Edition-CD-Key-for-Origin.html
I voiced concerns about not knowing whether it's region locked or not but I believe someone confirmed it isn't in another thread where I shared this link.
I purchased it today despite some of the negative opinions that has been going around. I think I will post my own review later. In short, I absolutely love it. As stated in another comment, a lot of the features that people keep complaining about are either irrelevant or not really... That good. In my opinion anyways.
Something like the open world, for example. I don't miss it. The thing is, it made the entire game feel so empty and non-decentralized when my sim was out and about, especially in the neighborhood! A few minutes into my sims 4 game and I'm already experiencing a neighborhood brimming with life. That's a wonderful change. I'm used to the more "loady" approach of traveling around from the sims 2. Honestly, I prefer it. A lot of the time I thought traveling around in the open world of sims 3 was more of a bother than anything and did not add to gameplay experience.
Also, from a guy that never was very interested in building houses and designing them... That all changed with the sims 4. The new build tools are AMAZING. absolutely love it.
Also, if you are weary about the origin prices, consider purchasing the keys from websites such as g2a or cjs keys
These are both legit websites that I purchase from frequently. You save a lot of money that way :)
There are pages that sell keys for a very low price because they buy many products at a time. (Wholesale) I've had a lot of problems with G2A. The one I recommend is Instant Gaming, good support and the keys are delivered instantaneously, plus it's where you'll find them cheaper.

The release is delayed. The official FreeSO dev team statement is at: http://freeso.org/surprising-results-notes-from-the-ashes-of-my-servers/
Never mind townies, can we talk about festival outfits? Mortimer Goth owes me a new pair of eyes. (Although I've gotta say this one they chose for my main was pretty spot on!)
TunnelBear and yes it’s compatible with mac! You just download that and sign out of origin, then set tunnelbear to either Australia or NZ and then log back into origin and it should trigger download :) Once it starts downloading you can close tunnelbear
Help!! Downloaded using NordVPN and now origin is saying “origin encountered an issue loading this page. Please try reloading it- if that doesn’t work, restart the client or try again later”
I’ve tried everything !! What do i do?!
It’s like sneaking presents before Winterfest! ;)
I used f-secure. They have a free trial VPN named, Freedome. I used this one. I’ll send you the download link via message. I don’t think it’s against the sub rules, but it might be against Origin’s ToC so just to be safe.
Not really. You'll probably get maybe 15 hours of enjoyment out of it. I picked up the 2 expansions during the sale and I can't imagine myself playing the game without them. Vanilla Sims 4 is an extremely barebones experience.
If you use Chrome, you can get the extension TunnelBear. Go to the Origin website while browsing it as if you were living in Mexico. The game and extra content will be much cheaper (expansions are like $13).
I know nothing of graphics, processors and whatever, would someone be super kind and tell me if my computer will be able to handle ts4? :3
I personally have gotten way more play time out of the sims 3 base game than the sims 4. I'm running the sims 3 just fine on a new laptop with windows 10.
I've heard the differences between the sims games described this way: The Sims 4 is a more linear game, with obvious steps you have to follow to progress. The Sims 3 is more open ended and you can get a lot more creative with your progression. If she is someone that likes more direction with what to do, the sims 4 might be a better option.
I recently switched back to The Sims 3 after realizing that I just wasn't getting the same enjoyment out of 4. I will admit that The Sims 3 looks pretty dated after playing 4 for a while. You can tell the clothing and furniture options are out of style. You can get free custom content that will add trendier options to the game but that's something that can pretty majorly slow down the game or cause glitches.
The best part about The Sims 3 is that you have an open world to explore without having to hit any loading screens. You can visit the park, restaurants, shops, work, and friends homes without ever having to be taken out of the game for loading purposes. One of my major gripes about The Sims 4 was that I spent way more time tending to my sims basic needs, especially hunger and social. Also, I didn't like 4's lifetime rewards system nearly as much as 3's system.
Here's The Sims 3 Base Game with Late Night Expansion Pack and High End Loft Stuff - $20 https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/the-sims/the-sims-3/standard-edition
Here's The Sims 4 Base Game - $40 https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/the-sims/the-sims-4/standard-edition
First of all, download it through Origin, not Amazon. The game is refundable within 24 h if it doesn't work or you don't like it.
Try going here and pick TS4 and see what it tells you.
Hey, it sucks so much your sims game got deleted. I thought I'd take the time to zip up all my mods and send them your way :) (Edit: Mine are all just thrown into a mod folder, I'm not organized in the slightest)
Took a while to upload because my internet sucks, but in that time I was able to screenshot the list of my mods ingame so you can see what's in it (sort of). Here's the album listing the mods / Link to download
AFAIK, Origin doesn't have a version released for Linux or any of it's distros. I primarily use Kubuntu and I've had success with installing both Origin and Sims 4 using a third party program called Lutris. You will also need to download Wine and it's drivers, even though Lutris has a version of it built in.
I've also been able to successfully install Sims 2, but the gameplay was so laggy and had major FPS drops that I gave up and just installed Windows 10 on another partition. I do love me some Sims 2.
No it’s ok. I use Virtualbox because it’s free and open source. It’s at virtualbox.org
Once you download it, you can look up tutorials for how to download an OS for it and how to load the game on there.
I love building up moments. In my last legacy I had a sim wife I didn't like anymore. I had her husband bring around his side piece and initiate a woohoo in front of her after she had a bad day at work. Death by cardiac arrest. 👌
You can't get them anywhere apart from Origin. The rest are just dodgy keyshops. I recommend creating price alerts on gg.deals . It's a price comparison website for pc games. So far they work only with the official and credible game stores. You can create the price alerts for all the Sims 4 packs and when the prices drop, you'll get instantly notified.
> EA is so money grubbing they'd never give away games for free(but I did get some 2 ultimate edition for free)
Uhhhh...so....they would?
Also
First of all, the expansion bundle is $10. It includes World Adventures, Generations, and the Origin bonus content associated with them. I definitely recommend Generations, because although it doesn't come with a new world, it gives the children and teen stages more depth, and imaginary friends are fun.
After that, I recommend Supernatural. I only got it yesterday, but I love the new world, along with the new kinds of Sims. If you want a more unusual town, get it.
But if you want to do more research, read Carl's Sims 3 guide. It's extensive, even if some of the notes are dated, and should give you an idea of what comes with each expansion.
In terms of stuff packs, I only have High-end Loft Stuff, which I receive as a gift. Personally, I wouldn't pay $10 for any of the stuff packs (lots of the store sets are more interesting, even if they cost too much), so you should probably prioritize expansions over stuff packs. They're the same prices, but stuff packs only provide a max of 60 items and occassionally some new venues, while expansions provide new gameplay and occasionally a new world.
Maybe base game, but not well.
If you're determined to play 3, I'd highly recommend using a custom neighborhood that's a tiny map, as that will make it run noticeably better.
The Sims 3 is very poorly optimized, so it runs quite poorly on my main desktop (i7 4790k OCed to 4.1 on all cores, 32GB of RAM, GTX970, 1Tb SSD, etc.) when you consider that this is a system that can rip through most AAA games with cycles to spare.
The Sims 4 would likely run better, but you do lose the open world aspects.
I would also recommend adjusting your VRam in the BIOS and dropping that down to 1GB or even as low as 512MB, as you have so little RAM to begin with, giving Intel Graphics more than 1GB is a waste.
Side note, if you want a cheap desktop computer, check if your local colleges do surplus sales. My local college sells their used desktops for ~$120 with a full windows install, and they also sell monitors for $20-40 depending on how much overstock they have of monitors at any given time. If they don't include hard drives, you can get a 1TB drive for ~$40 brand new from the manufacturer, and if you're a student you can typically get a copy of Windows for cheap/free, since Microsoft wants people to run their stuff from the start so they never consider other options...
Edit: In thinking about your current RAM situation, 768MB is probably a good happy medium since you play some games on there. If you didn't play games I'd say drop it to 256MB since basic desktop tasks barely need any graphics horsepower...
They're in this set which I found in the "sims 2 downloads" tag on tumblr
Sadly, there isn't an official, legal way to purchase a digital version, so you'll have to go to Amazon and buy a physical copy. It's crazy expensive though: https://www.amazon.com/Sims-Complete-Collection-PC/dp/B000BAVN14
Hopefully one day EA will release it on Origin, or GOG will get a licencing deal and sell it on their store.
I really liked this quote from Gamespot:
"It's possible, of course, that one or both of these features will be implemented in a free update, rather than a patch--after all, EA CEO Andrew Wilson has spoken recently about making the Sims publisher a "player-first" company. However, at least for the time being, you can't blame fans for being cynical given the franchise's track record."
It's pretty much exactly what I think/feel about the issue: hopeful and possible, yet cynical.
You can search the items that are contained in the digital deluxe edition if you were to type "Sims 4 Digital Deluxe Edition" in google and if you must need a trusted site regarding what the Digital Deluxe Edition contains, check EA's site itself for TS4. If not here's a post in gamefaqs regarding your concern http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/714064-the-sims-4/69986449
A good post by Sorugue: "Thats relative to the purchaser IMO, I actually just answered this about an HR ago, the Premium edition includes 2 extra stuff packs and a sound track, while the Limited edition (Or most basic edition available) Comes with the "life of the party" Digital pack.
So basically you get 3 stuff packs, and a sound track with premium. Personally I was never huge on stuff packs as the content didnt appeal to me so I went for the Limited edition. That is not to say it wouldnt be worth it to others to go premium." Hope this answered your question, best of luck.
Direct link to freebie here! No one makes stuff for the Sims community - at least not in the creative community for content creators - so I thought I'd try to show some love and make something cute but also a little neutral.
I think that we need to bring all of these questions into the forefront, answer them, and then be done. OMG, i forgot, we already did that 1000 times!
This is where we can, as a community, decide where we are at with this. It's easy to point someone to here, or here., but do we want to do this always? is there a better way?
A pack like this one: https://www.origin.com/irl/en-us/store/the-sims/the-sims-4/addon/the-sims-4-bundle--get-to-work-outdoor-retreat-luxury-party-stuff I just added the link for the one with release date on Feb 17 on Origin(not available on origin yet tho). I'm not sure if they're going to release one with CL.
Tl;dr no. This might happen down the road, but not as of right now. There are bundles and ways to get more than one expansion at a time, or an expansion or expansions with the base game at a discount. For example, The Sims 3 Bundle on Steam or any number of deals on Origin
Kinda, Origin is EA's version of Steam.
Sims 4 requires you to use Origin, so once you buy it, you can download and play the game on both mac & pc.
You can buy just the base game if you want. If you're from the US, I think Walmart or Best Buy sells dlc bundles. If you're not in a hurry to get the game, maybe wait and see if Origin does any Black Friday or Xmas sales.
Origin has their Great Game Guarantee where you can request a refund, no questions asked, within 24 hours of first launching the game. So you can test the game out if you'd like.
I believe I did and hash tagged em (#reddit) with a full description, if not ill upload em tobight again. Dont forget abiut his evil ex-wife Cecilia Diaz-Romantico!

I am right now. :) My sims are very broke still as Founder is only a Mixologist with a part time job at spa.
Still on generation 1. https://sites.google.com/site/batsaregay/sims-stories/desangre-legacy
I usually use this blog - it's updated almost daily, and you can filter what kind of CC you're looking for from the dropdown bar. You can also wade through the sims 4 cc tag on tumblr, but some people are terrible at tagging so you end up with sims 3 legacy pics in there too.
As for suggestions: I look for custom skins/skin details and hair. Not a huge fan of the clay hair, and it's always nice to have a bit of variety when it comes to skin deets! There's a load of super realistic skins floating around, along with more maxis-match style ones too, so hopefully you'll be able to find what you're looking for!
The emotional mods from roBurky. The mood system in TS4 is just bad. It's too easy to change your mood with one action or walking into another room. I found my sim rapidly changing moods walking around the home.
roBurky made a number of mods that tackle different elements of this, and is working on a larger combined mod to mix these with whim improvements, better autonomy, improved traits, etc.
Emotional Inertia: Makes emotions harder to change. When you get an emotion you get a mild buff to it. So when you get playful, you get a playful buff. So you'll stay playful longer unless you really try. It's still very possible to change to mood, but you wont be rapidly shifting. This one mod is the mod essential of all of these I think.
Uncomfortable Overhaul: Adds a bit more depth to uncomfortable moods, making different uncomfortable events also buff other negative moods. It's not as harsh as it sounds, as it's still plenty easy to address bad moods; it just adds a bit more character to how it plays out.
True Happiness: Similar sort of overhaul for feeling Happy. Making it a bit rare, but more impactful. The old happy is now fine, and the new happiness is something more.
Variable Emotional Traits: Makes the impact traits have on mood more meaningful. So if you're goofy, hot headed, gloomy, etc; you'll actually end up playful, angry, sad. Instead of the base games small +1 mood boost, it's a boost that can grow over time.
If your coloring is messed up (red sims, purple landscape, etc) you probably have an incompatible graphics card. Go to this website: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx
It will tell you exactly what's lacking in your computer. A lot of laptops don't have strong enough graphics cards, and that's unfortunate because it can be difficult to change them (depending on your model).
I had experience with this on Sims 2 and my old desktop. Purple, flashing landscape, weirdly colored sims, slow, etc. I had an old graphics card. Sorry :(
the other nice thing is since i unpacked a lot of .sims3pack installers into their normal .packages, they now show up when i filter by cc in-game. for some reason stuff i install as .sims3pack doesn't, but it shows up when i view everything.
you can use the multiinstaller (here) to batch extract .sims3packs and then s3pe (here) to repack things.
My favorite way of finding recolors are just to look on tumblr! Search the TS4CC tag! Or TS4 Recolor would work well for what you want! :)
https://www.tumblr.com/search/ts4+recolor
One of my favs, Inabadromance has loads of recolors as well: http://inabadromance.tumblr.com/tagged/inabadromance+recolors
For $2 more you can get the Limited Edition from CJS. :) I purchased a copy of it from there today, worked just fine for me.
This p/review has renewed my faith in the Generations expansion pack.
I don't care for a lot of the frivolity in it, but I am absolutely in love with the idea of imaginary friends for children!
I found this site from this youtuber. Idk if it's a safe site though. Do some research before you buy.
the only thing you can do to try it is; Buy the game.
The Origin Great Game Guarantee allows you to:
REFUND it within 24 HOURS after launching the game for the first time.
If you purchase through Origin, you can apparently get the game refunded within 24 hours of launching it; so there's at least that safety net if you can't wait for reviews.
https://www.origin.com/en-us/great-game-guarantee
It does seem like it could take up to ten days to get your refund though!
If you don't already own World Adventures, you can get this for three dollars more.
I don't have Seasons yet, but Generations is great if you like playing children and teens.
https://www.humblebundle.com/ is a charity website where you can get various packs of games for a small donation of your choice. Maybe 6 months back, TS3 and some expansions were on there. I donated 5 bucks and here I am!
Sorry for not having this information earlier, but I've learned that this promotion is only for US residents and the deal is only for today (October 13). GamersGate is having an EA week and today was the day for Sims 3 discounts. There will be different games on sale tomorrow (October 14).
If you're unable to purchase it today or would like to be informed of other online deals for games, you can subscribe to /r/GameDeals! Most of the posts are for PC downloads, but there are console and physical PC discounts occasionally. Might not be worth subscribing to if you don't play games heavily on PC, though. If that's the case or you just wouldn't like to see these links on your frontpage, you can use this site and follow only the games you want to see on sale and be alerted when they are! It's what I use personally and it's very helpful for keeping me informed on deals as a poor, gaming college student. :P
