I'm using Blood and Iron Mod - New Nations Mod + other projects abandoned (https://www.moddb.com/mods/blood-and-iron-mod). There are two categories of slaves - industrial and "agricultural" (if I am not incorrect). I do not really know how does it work, since Japan had no slavery throughout the game.
I didn't research any prestige tech as I focused almost exclusively on tech for education and growing my economy so that could be why I'm not no.1 in prestige.
With industry I can't really surpass the USA and France (which controls the Rhineland and Catalonia) without going to war against these countries and taking their industrial regions. Which I could still do if I want.
And with milliary probably because the mod lowers the amount of soldiers you can get from colonies. But yeah I supposed if I tried to reach no.1 it wouldn't be too difficult.
As for the mod I got it from here it's okay but it's not finished yet so there are a lot of bugs, and at least for me as Portugal it didn't add any special events except for the choice of keeping my capital in Rio or moving it to Lisabon so you might be better off with some other mods in this time period.
They claimed it. The Comanches fought back. There were a few points in which American settlement was actually pushed back by a hundred miles or so due to how savagely the Comanche fought. For a long time, the United States was unable to truly connect its two halves. The mounted Plains Indians were far too fast and mobile to effectively fight with then-modern technology and doctrine, much like trying to fight Steppe Nomads at the time in Russia.
What changed was the invention of a new, stronger rifle and an interest in buffalo hides to market. White men could now shoot further than the Mongol-like, always-mounted Comanches, and more importantly the White men utterly annihilated the buffalo herds the Comanche survived off of. Basically, the American free market starved the Comanche and other Plains Indians out of the thing they needed to survive by lucky happenstance, which let White men truly conquest the Great Plains. And in 1874 the Red River War happened, which saw most of the last free Com ache tribes surrender to the Americans and go onto reservations because they had no other choice and would otherwise starve to death. This finally made the southern Great Plains save for permanent White colonization.
I highly recommend the book Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne . There's also an Audible audiobook version which is quite good. It's a book about the rise and fall of the Comanche nation[s] and it's super fascinating to hear about that period of frontier warring ad tragedy.
This is a mod which adds Byzantium and Babylon back into HPM and gives them flavor. If you form Byzantium and become fascist your country changes to the "Greater Roman Empire". I did my best to recreate the Roman Empire (gave them a little more land too, it is the greater roman empire after all). I obviously used a lot of cheats to do this, but it was fun nonetheless. Also dismantled Prussia, England, and Russia is fun to look at

Link to the mod here (uses an old version of HPM): https://www.moddb.com/games/victoria-2-heart-of-darkness/downloads/hpm-byzantium-and-babylonia-re-added-and-enhanced

Edit: just now realized I missed Gibraltar... shit
Here's the download, its pretty simple to install and should come with instructions in the readme file in the download. If not, there's walkthroughs on youtube (all vic2 mods install the same)
"recently completed research into Bolt-action Rifles."
research into <thing> is a perfectly cromulent grammatical structure as far as I'm aware.
First result of a lazy google search.
Cambridge dictionary entry for research, referencing 'research into'.
Hello and welcome.
Ill try to answer.
Mod I made to manage craftsmen and do other things. Some features are not particularly refined such as the releasing nations but the conversion of non accepted pops to artisans is solid.

If you have both expansions then i would recommend Historical Project Mod. If not, i would recommend you buy them before playing the game at all.
well, the guy asked if i was using hfm, which i’m not, but i suppose it’s not completely vanilla. i just use this mod because i think the decision to use small, circular flag icons was dumb. it says it’s for hpm, but you don’t need hpm and it might even work with hfm.
This one!
(I don’t know how to do that pretty thing with links and blue prints)
Yes, it is a pretty famous Victoria II mod from even before HPM and HFM came out and Apocalypse and the Ultimate mod were the most played ones The development was cancelled, but it was pretty fleshed out. It should still be on the ModDB page, but if not, then look up the youtube video the 5 Best Victoria 2 mods by SprayandPrey11. There is a link in the description to the Apocalypse and also Kaiserreich files. Here is the Moddb page: https://www.moddb.com/mods/victoria-ii-kaiserreich
The full downloads are in "files", when you scroll all the way down. The latest version is Historical Project Mod - Version 0.3.9.2.
Put the HPM folder (the one containing a few others) as well as the .mod file into Victoria 2's install directory, should be \Steam\SteamApps\common\Victoria 2\mod. Don't forget to tick the mod when you start the game.
Newer Paradox games have their mods in your documents/paradox/[game]/mod, not in the install directory.
You could try the Cold War Enhancement mod and literally play as team America world police, toppling governments, installing friendly regimes and fighting the red menace wherever it rears its ugly head
At this point, it's probably better to download HFM instead, as it has more content, and is still being updated. HFM is HPM with more on top of it.
Anyways to download HPM
Also, make sure you have both DLC for Victoria 2.
When you install the mod, make sure you install it in the mod folder directory that the game is installed. The one in documents has some issues.
you need archivator to use 7z files. It may be winrar or 7zip itself, it's a free software (https://www.7-zip.org/). Then you just need to unarchive it into mod folder in victoria 2 folder
I made a mod for this called Utility Mod
How it works is you enact a decision and it converts either non accepted or non primary craftsmen into artisans in either all owned territories or just owned cores.
The age of Vic2 does show however the mechanics behind it more than makes up for it. Victoria 2 is just a damn enjoyable game.
Also the two DLC, A House Divided and Heart of Darkness, are practically required and its best to assume that everyone has them unless they say otherwise.
The most recommended mods would be the Historical Project Mod (HPM) and Historical Flavour Mod (HFM) with mos people swearing to one or the other. Would recommend to play at least your first game unmodded but with the DLC at the very least.
NOTE:
Step 3 is a common area for mistakes. Make sure that the folder has the following folders inside of it: common, decisions, events etc.
You must extract the contents from the .zip file into the "Steam\steamapps\steamapps\common\Victoria 2\mod" directory. Do not put them into your documents folder. They will not work.
I play with HPM. These days I see more HFM posts which is basically a sister mod to HPM. Both are good.
The most immediate difference between HPM and vanilla is the huge increase in countries, mostly in Africa. This opens up a lot of interesting possibilities for countries to play as. South and Central America is a lot more interesting, as are East Asian countries other than Japan (who is already interesting).
Additionally, there has been a significant economic expansion. New pop types, new social reforms for these pops, more goods. Politics has also been improved, with more political parties and decisions over things like border control.
The reason I got into HPM was because I was playing vanilla as the US and the event spam leading up to the civil war was driving me insane. HPM also fixes this and makes the civil war/the US much more interesting. If the US ever adopts slavery nationwide or loses democracy, the country basically balkanizes.
HPM is just an improved version of Vanilla. It adds some things, tweaks some things, but there aren't any outrageous changes. When playing it, it really just feels like the definitive version of Vicky. If you want something a little more Paradox-y, specifically the possibility of restoring Byzantium, check out HFM. There are way more decisions to reform long-gone empires and pick up totally wild tags.
I've also been meaning to play New World Order, which moves the timeline and adds tons of mechanics, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
it was added in 0.4.4

You may want to give f.lux a try. It gives you more control over the time and an even warmer red, as well as being configurable whether it applies to full-screen apps or not. This doesn't always work, but it works with Clausewitz games.
It is "Pop Demand Ultimate"

Cold War Enhancement, an "improvement" of NWO (New World Order).
https://github.com/settintotrieste/Victoria-2-Cold-War-Enhancement-Mod-CWE
https://www.moddb.com/mods/victoria-2-cold-war-enhancement-mod
It's pretty fun and quite different from vanilla Vicky2
CWE "Cold War Enhancement"
Also, DoD has been ported to HPM. I pretty much can't play normal DoD anymore. I custom modded mine so get the map graphics from HFM so now my game is looking fabulous.
>CWE 1.09 is out
Here.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/victoria-2-cold-war-enhancement-mod/news/cwe-mod-version-109
It's not clear when Vic3 will arrive, so pick Vic2 now with both DLC, it's quite cheap.
I recommend playing with the Historical Project Mod straight away:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/historical-project-mod
It's better in every way compared to vanilla.
You should clear your mod folder before attempting these steps.
Generally clearing the map cache can help the game boot up without crashing, according to the kaiserreich moddb page anyway.
"4. As a precautionary measure, to avoid the problem I mentioned in the summary of the tutorial, go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Victoria 2\map
... and delete the folder called 'cache'.
It depends a bit on what you're looking for but personally I'd recommend the Historical Freedom Mod (HFM). It adds a lot of new events and decisions and a few new mechanics without radically altering the game. It also incorporates a few other mods that are nice to have. Here's a link to the download and a more in depth description if you're interested: https://www.moddb.com/mods/historical-flavour-mod
UI is iffy, the new events and things you can do clog up the decisions menu, and the economy is kinda broken. It's a very good mod to try out though. I've had a lot of fun with it depending on which country you play as. Played as Iran and became an oil powerhouse.

Unfortunately there are no deal available at the moment. I would keep an eye out for paradox sales this summer. You should be able to pick up the collection for about $4.99.
