Made in Houdini and rendered with Redshift. The model is from MecaBricks.com. I simulated the bricks breaking and falling apart, and then simulated the re-assembly of the pieces. The simulation was almost real time, and it took about 1 hour to render.
u/poxenham has already addressed this, but I'll give a slightly more detailed response.
I build in LDD and use Mecabricks (specifically, the Mecabricks Advanced addon) to produce LEGO Movie grade renderings via Blender 2.9. Mecabricks offers a free "Lite" version of their addon which you can use to experiment for yourself, if you wish (it has all the same basic functionality, sans imperfection functions like dust/fingerprints/scratches/etc).
Sorry for the short answer... I was rushing to something.
I make my custom decals in sketch.io, and then create the pieces in Mecabricks.com... Its a digital Lego building platform, all the pieces are genuine digital Lego XD.
I might do a stream at some point, or a video on how I make them, if there is enough interest in something like that...

There you go! If you haven't used Mecabricks before, just click that link and hit "editor" at the top to enter the build mode, or scroll down for an "Inventory" tab. You're gonna run into some problems doing this in dark green, such as the quarter circle tiles and 2 x 2 wedge plates, but I'd very much look forward to seeing what you come up with! And you can always message me here or on flickr if you have problems or questions.
edit: Also, almost all of this should be available (in the color scheme I used) through Bricks and Pieces. I think I found everything except for the blue wheel arches, red 1 x 2 bricks, hubcaps, the larger size of tire, and the white 2 x 4 tile there when I ordered mine.
This was supposed to have a description but I dunno where to find it so Ill post it in the comments. This is my lego WCKD Train based off of the Death Cure movie. I made it using Mecabricks and It took me a whole school year. The engine and the caboose are my favorite and most well done and the human transport car is the worst because it was the first thing i ever made using Mecabricks. I hope you enjoy, if you want to view the end and start of the train, go to Mecabricks.com and look up "WCKD". I hope you enjoy!
It is indeed. This is my first time using it as well. I didn't do any of the modeling and texturing though - all credit for that goes to the developer of Mecabricks and their amazing software.
Here’s the model on Mecabricks. You can tinker around with it in the workshop and take it apart. It’s two Travis bricks stuck together, the second one has a single rod shaft coming down to an open single circular stud
If you click the link in my first comment, it will take you to the Flickr with the core. It’s also an open option MecaBricks, so you can open the model directly there.
this is my profile on mecabricks, though note that I am lazy and have a huge backlog of unreleased stuff due to my hating how their tagging system works and the suuuuper-slow Library interface. Imgur gallery here though, again, does not cover everything; I am also on the forum.
Thanks! A fair criticism. The animations right now are used only for assemblies that would be impossible to show one-by-one. It's a lot simpler to create, and a lot fewer images to render (1 image per step vs ~300).
Shaders are from Mecabricks Blender "lite" plugin. He deserves all the credit for that gorgeousness.
This MOC is inspired by a sculpture my girlfriend created. It's the first MOC I've designed, I used Mecabricks and made a few modifications after getting the necessary pieces.
Here is the link to the Mecabricks page if you want to check the 3d render
i made it digitally and it uses some parts in colors they don’t come in in real life so you won’t be able to build it but you can see the parts needed to build it by going into the editor here
i don’t have instructions for it and since it’s a digital build it uses some parts unavailable irl but you can open it up in an editor here to look around
If you go to https://mecabricks.com/en/models/Vyvnxg3m2l3 then you can go into the model and take it apart to see how it was built. There's also a parts list
Hmm.. yeah of course ^^
So Kingpin torso is from the DC CMF Joker and the head is Cornelius Fudge's
As for Rhino the head is Gimli's.. and for the rest, you can take a look on Mecabrick, right here
Made a render of this super awesome mech model using my custom Lego PBR Shader. This mech was made by a very talented builder. Make sure to go check out the original model on Mecabricks! (link below)
Thanks! I made it on Mecabrick after making it irl, if you want to take a look, break it down etc.. to make it yourself

This has been a long time coming.
<em>"Do you believe... in a perfect world?"</em>
The "MOC" version of this design has been shared here a couple times before (by myself and others), but never the revised LEGO Ideas version (which was only approved just this week). While tweaking this model for formal submission, I strove to preserve as much of the external aesthetic as possible, but the internal structure required a complete overhaul.
Thankfully, the end result was sufficient to clear inspection - and now the Dice of Fate must land where they may. Onwards!
You can also preview this model on Mecabricks, and the .lxf file is available upon request (hit with me a DM and I'll send it your way).
I've done my part. Rest is in your hands, folks.
Hey! I actually got the model from mecabricks.com. I'm using the mecabricks add-on for blender, which allows you to download models created in the model maker on their website, and import them as models into blender. It's complex, but they also have a bunch of models other people have made to browse. The specific one I used is here.
If you want a better look at it, you'll find it here.

It's over 200,000 pieces and took way too long to do.
Mecabricks is an online Lego builder that you can use to make whatever you want. All of the work is in the browser, so no downloads are needed.
Here's the link to start up: mecabricks.com
None of these parts exist in any of these colors. I am a bad person. Very bad. Perhaps the worst.
But why does being bad feel so good?
A quandry for the ages.
Blitz project. Rendered in Blender 2.8 using the Mecabricks Advanced plugin. 3D view and alternate renders available here. Flickr album available here.
Sorry if I deleted the original post of this post...
There's the guy who commented to me about that...
I forgot to put up some studs for the bricks/plates.

Here's the original link to it: https://mecabricks.com/en/models/N02glkwrjLD
Built to scale with the old 6211 Star Destroyer set. Includes interior, found under the removable roof. 44cm long, 429 pieces. Looking around BrickLink to buy parts to build it for real at the moment.

Foot Notes about this MOC:
• This MOC is heavily inspired by prestoncox Hudson Hornet MOC over on mecabricks.com. If you would like instructions or an LXF file please go to this link for a somewhat similar build: https://mecabricks.com/en/models/KZvmkBBL2G6
• This MOC was created as part of a larger MOC for 1950s build with Sun Studios, Drive-Ins, and a horror drive-in movie.
So,... I did it on Mecabrick, if you want to see more screenshot go here. Thanks for checking !
All the body is nearly identical to the Giant Man from the Airport Attack set, the head is a more unique build.
I got the idea from this post.
Also, the Mecabrick link : here. If you want to see it closer ;)
Ps : I thinks it's buildable except for the sword, I don't think it come with this color, same for the red transparent piece on the arms.

Thanks for your time.
It's all done with textured planes and cubes in Blender. I get my LEGO materials and models from here: https://mecabricks.com/en/ but the background was all made by me. Thanks for asking!

The "Inventory" tab has the bricklink .xml file that I used. I had to make a lot of modifications because the guy who put together the model there used a lot of weird/incorrect pieces, and a few of them are in the wrong colour. Notably, the flex tubes that the doors slide on and some of the 6l bars seem to be absent when I upload the file to bricklink. Regrettably, the way I use my wanted list involves deleting parts I have enough of, so my personal parts list is missing about a third of the model.
You can get the launch tower on ebay for about $70, but I wanted something cheaper so I designed an extension for the stands that come with it:
https://mecabricks.com/en/models/Dp2llNg12MV
I ordered all the parts from Bricklink for about $20 including shipping, I found it lets you move the set more easily and keeps the stands in the same orientation
