Get this:
All you need is an "old" tablet/smartphone and you can build your own "stream" deck. It also allows you to make makros (like "gear up, flaps up" in one key) etc.
I can help you out if you get stuck. Go here and check out their software: Touch Portal
It’s available on iOS, and Android. The free version works. I opted into purchasing for more button space and to support the developer. I’m working on customizing the buttons and will share the icons once I’m done.
>You could build this with a raspberry pi for more than half the price probably https://makerhacks.com/graphical-pizero-stream-deck/
These aren't even close to being the same thing, what you posted is closer to https://www.touch-portal.com/ than the Stream Deck.
yup, Lioranboard has a bit of a steeper learning curve though. If you don't need all the advanced functionality and are not a programmer you are probably better off using streamer.bot and touch portal for ease of use.
Looks great! What light/phone holder do you use? Been playing with the idea of using my iPhone as a webcam. Also, check out https://www.touch-portal.com it turns any iOS or Android device into a stream deck more or less.
http://t2t2.github.io/obs-tablet-remote/ works in anything with a web browser and is free open source, great if all you want to do is control OBS
https://www.touch-portal.com/ has much wider functionality if you need to control more than just obs, but isn't totally free
I use Touch portal running on an old Fire Tablet for an On Air light.
You should be able to setup LioranBoard if you need it to be a Windows app.
Or you could use the Websocket plugin + the API to write whatever app you want to check the status and do whatever you want with it.
You know there's also apps available for mobile devices that do the same thing - a way that's both cheaper and convenient...
Touch Portal is the one I'd recently started playing around with before realising I neither use nor need a macro pad🤷♂️
If you have an ipad or an old phone lying around you might find Touch Portal useful. https://www.touch-portal.com/ It lets you assign macros and such for a touch screen interface. I think it only costs around $20 for the software.
There would be touch portal
I have no conception of how well it works context-sensitive as I couldnt get it to work at all. But good luck
I use my first gen iPad Mini with Touch Portal as a macro deck for Photoshop and Davinci Resolve. But you could use it to control anything - especially now with Shortcuts in Mac OS Monterey.
More flexible and waaay cheaper than buying a dedicated Stream Deck
I'm using a batch file generated from a helper app, which is then launched by Touch Portal.
As far as I can tell the only thing that NOOBS CMDR (batch & VBScript) and Touch Portal (batch and Powershell) both support is batch.
I did very clearly say "I need all these variables in a batch file".
I'm sorry I didn't explain the multiple reasons why, but "variables in batch file" was the only requirement and the one many here seem to be stuck on.
> But the better solution would probably just be to not write some half-batch half-powershell bastard script, and just do it all in powershell.
Thanks, yet again, for recommending powershell even though multiple times I said I needed batch - but this needs to be a script it will be launched from Touch Portal via their script launch function: https://imgur.com/wjEjDE9.png
I just found this app that allows you to make custom shortcuts like the stream deck. I just downloaded it a few days ago to use with premiere and am still playing with it touch portal
yeah and if you don't have one already you can use touch portal (inexpensive phone app) or Lioranboard (free PC app).
Well, I kind of answered my own question:

I'll have to test this tonight when I get home!
Yeah I was thinking about using the 24" in portrait mode but it just wasn't great for OBS and VM. TouchPortal is like a StreamDeck alternative where you can use a tablet or phone as the control surface. Pros and Cons over an actual StreamDeck. You can check it out here!
How much money do I need for development of a Touch Portal clone?
HI, I am writing a project plan for a business that I am starting and need to include the costs for app development.
How much can I expect to pay for development, and what would be the expected timeline to develop an app like that, as sell as the amount of developers I'll need to hire? Thanks!
I'm not sure if you can call it workaround but you can just rebind all the keyboard shortcuts yourself and tweak then to your own liking and needs. There's a ton of shortcuts but soon you'll discover which ones you'll actuall need.
I got most of my essential functions bind to the button and switches on the throttle and joystick (and recently Logitech multi and autopilot panels) and I would suggest starting there.
I started with the full printouts of the keyboard shortcuts than I moved to using my android tablet as a button box (I used Touch Portal app ) for the autopilot ATac and lights functions.
And finally after purchasing Logitech panels, I stopped using table or keyboard almost completely.
This screenshot is fromtouch portal. Its a free-ish alternative to the stream deck.
You could also use the stream deck mobile app on your phone. But it requires a monthly fee. About 3 Euro here in Germany for iOS Devices.
I have been really happy using Touch Portal on an old, otherwise unused iPad. If you want hardware buttons, in the past I have used an inexpensive midi controller and Bome or a Stream Deck.
Just use Touch Portal... It's not free, but it works pretty well:
A fully custom FS touch panel would definitely be interesting though...
https://www.touch-portal.com/api/index.php?section=intro This is seeming more and more likely
I would highly recommend sktp. This is coming from someone with minimal sim experience but it really feels powerful. I'm still trying to learn the bits and pieces but I'm so glad I stumbled on it.
Hi, follow this Guide to troubleshoot the issue, otherwise, hop onto our Discord server so we can help:
https://www.touch-portal.com/faq.php?faqId=touch-portal-cannot-connect
I used it and for me it was a bit buggy and setting up my layout was a bit of a chore with their software.
I recently gave Touch Portal a try and I think I like it a bit more. I get more screen since the buttons are on my phone, and the configuration tool is pretty straight forward.
https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=3774 - if you want to trigger AHK events/scripts/macros but you’ll need to get busy writing your own code.
https://hot-virtual-keyboard.com - I’ve been meaning to try this one out but i have no idea if it would be able to work properly.
https://www.touch-portal.com if you want to turn a mobile device into a macro pad. A StreamDeck clone that works pretty well.
use ahksocks: https://github.com/jleb/AHKsock
the touch portal dokumentation says, static actions are simply run via the command-line: https://www.touch-portal.com/sdk/index.php?section=static-actions
Also maybe take a look at Touch Portal.
It will put a virtual stream deck on a phone / tablet and allows you to execute commands from it on top of existing commands for applications. This thing is pretty powerful.
I do not work for the company, just a user.
You could also look at Touch Portal - I started using it a few weeks ago and it actually works pretty well. I will have to check out Deckboard also just to do a comparison.
It's as simple as installing the program to your PC, then installing the app on your phone. They connect to each other over WiFi and boom, you're done. Customize the buttons and pages on your PC, then use your phone to actually activate the buttons.
Uninstalling the program is as easy as, well, just uninstalling it. No intrusive drivers or anything that I can remember.
Looks cool. Have you looked at touch-portal? Looks very similar, and might save you time it ends up doing what you're building. Combine it with Keyboard Maestro is you're on a Mac, or AutoHotKey on a PC and you can map pretty much anything. https://www.touch-portal.com/
I have dedicated an old Nexus 5 as a Remote System Monitor.
I'm also on the look out for an old device I can use as a dedicated Touch Portal device
I'm using an old Nexus 5 as a dedicated Remote System Monitor.
I'm also on the look out for an older phone/tablet to use as a dedicated Touch Portal device.
There is a program: https://www.touch-portal.com/ ... that lets you do exactly the same thing as a 'Stream Deck' but you can use it as an open application on your desktop or on any tablet/phone device. Its real easy to set up and customise and doesn't cost a ton of money. I can highly recommend it.
A stream deck XL is a little pricey isn't it?
You can buy a Fire HD 7-10 for sub-$150 and get something like Touch Portal to simulate a control panel.
https://www.touch-portal.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/DSC07512-1.jpg
Also lets you have a lot more than 32 buttons.
Full disclosure, I'm the Co-founder :)
