No. Get the Switch. Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Project Octopath Traveler, Pokemon games, Rocket League, Skyrim, and many more. And then of course Smash Ultimate will come out this year, which will be Smash 4 on steroids.
Steins;Gate, Root Letter, Killzone, Danganronpa series, The Swapper, WipeOut, just a few of my favourites. To get an idea of the complete library: https://whatoplay.com/vita/ think this site has a nice overview and.. Welcome Back :-)
Personally, I’m surprised it’s came so far at the price point it’s at. For me it’s hard to imagine $400 for a console with only 2 decent games right out of the gate.
At this point to me 250 would seem more reasonable, packaged with a fan favorite like they do with the DS family of handhelds. Maybe even throw in online with a mix of nes/snes games free for 90 days, etc.
And the remakes on sale at times for around $30ish to allow the avg family on a budget to actually build a decent library. I don’t know about you but those remakes still look dam good on my Wii U, splatoons controls are suspect. But theres really not a whole lot more to complain about.
Anyhow, look at these top rated Wii U games (that can all be had for dirt cheap) say what you want, but this list (alone, even without vc/emulation) is nothing to sneeze at.
Yeah, I agree that no scoring system is perfect, but I feel like a 5 or 10 point scale, if used correctly, is so much more useful than a 2 point scale. A game can have a 90%+ positive rating on steam and just be inoffensive and neat. My preference would be a scale where a 90+ means that it's actually an incredibly fulfilling game. My favorite rating aggregator is whatoplay, as I think it's valuable to combine critic and players scores: https://whatoplay.com/faq
Uncharted. That’s if you are a fan of the series. Believe or not, the best games on the ps vita are the plethora of indie titles from more smaller gaming development companies. I said to myself, it’s a shame that more players don’t srumble these titles. They’re are so many, I’ve lost count. Look around and you will see what I mean. Shantae is a killer platform game. Muramasa demon blade. They are more. Blazblue…stunning fighting game.

Here is the best of the best.
I think(don't quote me, googled a list of JRPG's for the vita) but Firefly Diaries, Natural Doctrine, Y's Memories of Celceta, Freedom Wars, Ragnorak Odyssey and Toukiden Age of Demons.

Stop trying to artificially strengthen your own opinion by claiming "most". Or "people were". There's nothing that supports this.
I'll rarely see it counted among the great games of that generation? Yet it's heralded in the top 10 on the very first search result
Uncharted was not their only real hit... Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and Clank Toools of Destruction and Warhawk were all exclusives that made greatest hits before MGS4.
For someone that claims to not be a big fan of MGS4 you sure are acting like a giant ignorant fanboy of it.
You could also try whatoplay.com - they take at least 3 critic reviews and the average over user ratings from steam, gog.com etc. and then generate an aggregate rating from that. However, niche games will suffer from that (but these could still be great games).
I just look at whattoplay and sort by gamerscore (user score). There aren't that many. Two games that don't get brought up very often is Lost Dimension and Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny. Most of them are either exclusives or the the alternative platform is about as dead as PS3.
My pleasure! Sorry for the horrible formatting.
Most of these games are very very good, though there are some puzzle games which aren't for everyone, and it's not strictly indie games, but should occupy that price bracket or length for the most part. Really can't go wrong with most of these. I threw in Dragon Quest Builders 2 because I played it on a whim recently and got helplessly addicted, great game, and under $20 US on Amazon.
I forgot to add Hades as I typically just game on PS5, but I've heard nothing but praise.
If you ever are wondering what you should play, I will comb through... whatoplay... for ideas.
Top PS4 - sorted by Critic/User Average (Playscore)
Cheers!
Personal favorites: Portal 2, Supraland, A plague tale innocence, Titan Fall 2, Super Hot, A Hat in time, Sekiro & Hollow Knight (Very Challenging)
Edit: I advise you to only buy games that you'd see yourself playing in a month. Otherwise, wait for a sale or else you'll have a very large backlog of unplayed games like the majority of us
We must be talking different libraries.🤔 Most databases don't readily filter by "horror" (likely because it's more of a literary genre that overlaps with a multitude of "gameplay" ones) but even the few that try, like Whatoplay, count over a hundred. My own collection features over 30 to date. Doesn't quite come across as "not many".
I found a listing of Roguelikes on Switch a couple of stand outs are A Robot named Fight, Dead Cells, Othercide, Rogue Robots, and Soul Blight.
Here’s the link: https://whatoplay.com/switch/roguelike/
I hope you find it
Blazblue CFE, tearaway, persona 4 golden, trails of cold steel, YS games, muramasa rebirth, God of war collection, metal gear 2 & 3 If you want a list, this is a good one List
Play together.. on one phone? Or coop between two phones?
To be fair there's not much choice with either category unless you play one of those MOBA games

Edit: That said, this list is pretty comprehensive, and I like the UI, so I figured I'd share
Cool. I'm the cofounder of https://whatoplay.com and we aggregate gamer reviews on top of critic reviews. Yes, you're right... it does take more frequent data entry, which we had to automate. We're working on an API that will make these data available. Might be interesting for you to take a look when you have the time.
Good job, on the way you calculate. Might want to try it this weekend on my own backlog.
So in terms of "exclusive" visual novels, the Switch isnt super popular. As developers can make a killing porting their steam released game over to Switch and making a quick buck.
https://whatoplay.com/switch/visual-novel/
But there are a butt-load of VN and VN-like adventure games on the system.
https://whatoplay.com/3ds/best/jrpg/
That list is probably pretty comprehensive, and should give you a good jumping off point.
Dont forget the 3DS is fully backwards compatible with the DS as well, so that whole library is available.
Plague Inc. My boyfriend pirated it when we were in college. I spent so much GLORIOUS time infecting the world that I thought it's only right that I should buy the full version.
Don't Starve also. I'm so thankful that Klei keeps on updating it.
I'll also be buying Alice: Madness Returns soon. (Are we seeing a pattern with the kind of games I wanna play?)
Another way of helping developers is by actually reviewing the games you play. Tell them what's good or not. Great developers listen to their players.
whatoplay.com is an up and coming website to review and rate games.
Thank you for watching our videos! We have a website now. It's basically the extended version of our videos. If you review games on our website, we take your rating into consideration when we calculate for the playscore.
https://whatoplay.com/
You are correct, according to this website (which aggregates user and critic reviews from many different review sites) it is the 1940th best game on PC out of 17450, 89% of games are worse than fortnite. This however does not mean that it is better than 80% of games worth playing (which its not). There are literally thousands of games that are better than fortnite, so remind me why it's so good and why it is oh so worth your time?
I bought my first vita a month a go, been eyeing it for a while as well, have totally no regrets. In fact love it so much that I ordered my 3d color of a 2000 model. You never know when disaster strikes, so I need spare ones! :-))
To get an idea for titles to play have a look at https://whatoplay.com/vita/
I also would recommend to take a look at installing Custom Firmware. It really brings some nice advantages to the system. Since there are good tutorials about it, easy to be found, installing it won't be a big hassle.
You will at some point concern about memory cards, since you need them even if you own physical games. They are used to store and save data on, from the physical games.

Congrats got mine recently as well. At this point I’m liking it better than the switch, for its versatility. It has a lot of the switches essentials already. See list below for top ranked Wii U games to give you some ideas.

can't go wrong with the warriors series. you can pretty much pick any one up regardless of numerical title and dive right in.
