Syncing will replace what’s on the iPad with what is on the computer. Instead go to the File menu, and select Devices>Transfer Purchases. Be sure to authorize the computer using the AppleID the songs were purchased from the iTunes Store under. Or if they weren’t from the iTunes Store, use iMazing or TouchCopy or any number or alternatives to browse the contents of the iPad and recover the songs to your Mac or PC.
Yes, your photos are backed up as part of your local iTunes backup, but there's no easy way to browse through them. There are a few apps that help you with this, here's one I used to look through and copy photos from my local iTunes backup of my iPhone https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/help/images.php
iTunes may have created a backup when you connected your girlfriends iPhone to the computer. It's worth browsing through the backup to see if your can get anything out of it. This is the app I use for it https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/ You can view the content of the backup using the free version, so may be worth a try to see if there's anything there.
How was this set up? Were your contacts set up to merge with your Apple contacts (if any)? Have you checked iCloud to see if anything is there? It's not far fetched to consider that, if you had no contacts in your iCloud account, that it "copied" the empty list from there into your Outlook account. I found the link below - maybe it may lead to something productive:
https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/blog/5-ways-to-recover-deleted-contacts-on-iphone.php
By the way, if you do have a significant amount of contacts on an old device, thank your lucky stars! That's better than what you have now.
By the way, for security purposes, we've asked all our employees to move their email account from the native Apple app to the Outlook app. My suggestion for you would be to do the same. That would also help keep things separate for you.
Unfortunately not. I've tried that and it doesn't work. Maybe Paypal doesn't take payments with prepaid cards either? I think it's a country thing because my card is accepted fine on Amazon.com, but it's not on Amazon.uk.co
This is the software I need. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/droidtransfer/ I contacted the company about the issue and asked if they have another way to pay, but they haven't responded yet. If it doesn't work out with someone on reddit I'll see if I can send them a money order.
I've been using TouchCopy for years, it never let me down. You can export your text messages and iMessages and save them to your PC, as well as voice mails that are stored on your phone.
More about how to export messages here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/help/save-text-messages-to-computer.php
Voice mails... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/help/how-to-save-voicemails-from-iphone.php
I used TouchCopy to save my iPhone conversations as PDF files in the past, worked very well. It does need some sort of computer to work, see here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/save-print-iphone-messages.php
If you can't get access to a computer, can you get a friend to take pictures of your messages and then email the photos to you?
You can just drag and drop your music from your iPod, but that will not preserve your play counts and other song data. I used TouchCopy for this in the past, and although it's not free, I've used it enough times over the years to make it worthwhile. You can get it here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
You will need a third party app to "reverse sync" your iPhone to iTunes, as iTunes will only transfer your iTunes store purchases, as detailed here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201272
TouchCopy is the app I used used to copy all my iPhone content to my new computer. You can get it to look for songs on your iPhone which are not in iTunes and only copy the missing ones, more here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Once you've copied your iPhone music to iTunes, you can safely re-sync your new iPhone with iTunes to add all the music to it.
If your books were purchased on iTunes, you can transfer them from your iPad by using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases option in iTunes. This might help with books downloaded straight to your iPad. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_books.php
You may be able to copy your messages and other files from your iPod Touch with an app like TouchCopy but not sure it will work without you knowing the password. Worth trying the free version to see if it is able to read your iPod Touch from here... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
There is a report in TouchCopy named "Not in iTunes", which will show you all songs on your iPod which are not in your iTunes library. You can then select these songs and copy them to iTunes. You should be able to do that with the free demo, see here for a screenshot and the demo https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/
Yes, your iTunes backup does contain text messages, but it's quite tricky to access any data in the backup, really it's there if you need to restore your iPhone.
To actually export text messages from your iPhone and save them to your computer, iexplorer or TouchCopy are your best bet. I personally used TouchCopy in the past from here... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_messages.php
There is software out there that will show you songs which are on your iPod and not in iTunes. You can then copy these to iTunes, check the "Not in iTunes" reports in TouchCopy here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/manuals/touchcopy/12/en/transfer.php
If all your music is already deleted off your iPod, you could try one of the file recovery solutions. I used iRenew a long time ago, as it's free, but think there are others http://www.softpedia.com/get/IPOD-TOOLS/Multimedia-IPOD-tools/iRenew.shtml
Do you have iTunes installed on your computer? Most of these programs will need this to be installed to detect your iPod Touch. My personal favourite is TouchCopy here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Sounds like you may need to try one of the 3rd party tools to transfer music from your iPod to your computer or iTunes. The one that keeps coming up as highly recommended is TouchCopy here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
from what I've read (ex was dyslexic) line spacing, font and colour all make a difference.
windows might allow you to adjust font, unsure how much Traktor allows you to adjust the settings but it's worth looking into. there are specific fonts developed to help dyslexic people.
here's a guide, fingers crossed you'll be able to adjust to match some or all settings: https://www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/advice/employers/creating-a-dyslexia-friendly-workplace/dyslexia-friendly-style-guide
also when I get Beatport tracks the art is usually embedded and 90% of the time that's how I find songs, if you don't have embedded art maybe there's a tool that could help auto add it?
googling turns up this but I haven't used it - something like it may help however: https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/musictag/ (have not downloaded, might be a virus, but look for something like it)
First, I am so sorry for your loss.
I recommend droid transfer on the PC and transfer companion on the phone. Here is a little guide
I hope this helps
I will...? Really not sure what that point was for.
So... Don’t buy then? Here’s a link if you go to Android.
You could try and use this software to extract the photos from your local backup.
https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/help/images.php
You could then sign up for 200 GB iCloud storage and upload the recovered photos there as well as using the storage for your phone. The iCloud storage is better and cheaper than sprint.
The iCloud storage is the route I went this time when I upgraded. It is cheaper than paying for more on phone storage and it is safer than just backing up to a Mac or PC.
i use music tag, you can get it here
https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/musictag/download.php
when you're in the application everything is pretty self explanatory (you can add the cover in the large square)
First, sorry to hear about this.
If his 5s is running iOS 11.4 or later, and you have a Mac, you can turn on Messages in iCloud, and then sync them up with the same Apple ID. From the Mac, you print them out as PDFs. That's usually the neatest way to do it.
You can also use a program like Touch Copy to extract the messages.
Some other tips:

If you can find your emails in files somewhere, you should be able to extract them from your phone and save them to your PC as detailed here... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/droidtransfer/how-to-transfer-files-from-android-to-pc.php
You can extract contacts, videos and photos from your iTunes backup and save them to your computer using an app like iBackup Extractor. Your contacts will be copied as vCards, so you can import them straight to your S9.
Probably the easiest thing to do with photos and videos is to copy them to your Google account and import to your S9 as detailed here
https://support.google.com/photos/answer/7652919?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en&oco=1
If you ever synced your old iPhone to iTunes in the past, iTunes will have created a backup which you can use to restore your new iPhone from. If this is not an option, you can browse your old iPhone backup and retrieve contacts and pictures from it using an app like iBackup Extractor. You don't need access to your old phone for it to work and the free version is fully functional, it just has a limit of 20 contacts or images, so may be worth giving it a go.
Perhaps try setting Message+ as your default message app in your phone settings and then try backup and restore. Alternatively check out Droid Transfer here, it worked for me... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/blog/how-to-transfer-text-messages-from-android-to-android.php
So sorry for your loss, have you managed to recover the voice memo yet? I used TouchCopy to get voice memos off my iPhone recently, take a look here... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/help/voicememos.php
I used Droid Transfer to export SMS from my phone to my PC in the past. You do need some access to the screen to use it, like entering your passcode, so might be worth getting the screen fixed anyway.
I used TouchCopy in the past to transfer my existing music from my iPhone to iTunes, then re-sync my phone with iTunes to put new music on it. Here's how to go about it... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/touchcopy/sync-from-itunes-to-ipod-without-erasing-songs-already-there.php
iTunes will have created a backup of you wife's iPhone the last time she synced her iPhone to iTunes. You may be able to restore the iPhone from that backup through iTunes, but then she'll lose the latest messages and files. Alternatively, you could try and browse the iTunes backup with an app like iBackup extractor, and only retrieve the files you need from the backup.
You should be able to retrieve photos and other files from your iTunes backup on your computer using iBackup Extractor, see here for details https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/help/images.php
Normally, Windows itself will import photos from your iPhone when you connect it to your PC. Have you authorised the computer to access your iPhone? If you're still having issues, there are third party apps that should help, here's one I use regularly...
If you ever connected your iPod to your computer in the past, iTunes will have created a backup, which you can browse and retrieve messages from. Free iBackup extractor demo should do this for you.
Have you sorted this out yet? There are instructions on how to copy both music and playlists from your iPod to your computer here and prevent iTunes from autosyncing your iPod and deleting everything from it. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/touchcopy/how-can-i-transfer-my-music-and-playlists-into-itunes.php
Check out TouchCopy, it does transfer your song meta data, so if you copy directly to iTunes rather than your hard drive, you should be OK. In any case, the demo version on the site below copies 100 songs free, so you should be able to see if it does work for you. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/

To locate your iPhone backup on your Mac, click on the menu bar, then type ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Note that you can’t get iPhone photos out of the backup very easily, as the backup is there to restore your iPhone, so it can be readily browsed. I ended up using a iBackup Extractor app for this in the past, see here for more https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/help/images.php
You can transfer any music purchased on iTunes directly from your iPhone as detailed here https://support.apple.com/kb/PH20509
For the rest of your music, use an app like TouchCopy to transfer it from your old phone to iTunes. The app will copy your photos too, you can get it here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Then, use iTunes sync up your new iPhone 8, which will load up your music, photos, etc copied from your old phone.
If your iPhone is detected by iTunes, make a fresh backup of it with iTunes and then you can export your contacts as Vcards. I've used iBackup Extractor for this in the past, the free demo is 20 contacts, so you can see if it works for you. More here... https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/help/contacts.php
There's more on how to import your Vcards to your new android phone here http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2338232/import-vcard-files-phone.html
You could save messages to your computer and then search through them from there. I've used TouchCopy for this in the past, you can save old messages as PDF or HTML, as well as printing them off. More here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_messages.php
No, buying more iCloud storage will not improve storage on your iPhone. Delete some apps, or remove some songs or photos on your iPhone. Updating to iOS 10.3.1 is meant to help too, see here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/blog/ios10/ios10-3-update.php
If your iPhone was recently connected to your computer your notes will be in your iTunes backup. You can extract these from your backup using an app like iBackup Extractor, see here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/help/notes.php
TouchCopy has always worked well for me here - you can print your messages straight from the program, as well as converting and saving to PDF, text and html. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_messages.php
I think you will need to create a new backup with the 'Encrypt Local Backup' Option unchecked and then try to retrieve your messages and photos from that backup.
TouchCopy has always worked well for me so if it does what you want may be worth getting it. The other option is iBackup extractor by the same developer, the demo version gives you 20 free backup extractions, see here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/
I used TouchCopy after a recommendation on Apple support communities, here https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
Seemed reasonable at $29.99 and worked very well for me https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
By design, your iPod will only sync with one computer at a time. However, there are programs out there that will show you the difference between content on your iPod and iTunes and let you copy it over from your iPod to the other computer. TouchCopy is a good one to try - can be used on 3 computers https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Once you transferred your iPod content over, you can change the computer it syncs to or stick with the original one.
Make sure your music is backed up to iClould and download from there. See here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201269
If you don't have enough space on iCloud, check out TouchCopy. More info here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/touchcopy/how-do-i-transfer-music-from-old-ipod-to-my-new-ipod.php
Your iTunes options need to be set to "Manually manage music and videos". Also it seems if have iCloud Music Library turned on, you can't manually manage music. For details see https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201593
Regarding duplicate songs, you can’t delete them directly from your iPod, as they will be added back to your iPod by iTunes next time you sync. You need to delete duplicate songs from iTunes and then sync your iPod, see here for details https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/tunesweeper/features/
You can only setup Message relaying on your Mac if you can use the display on your iPhone. Also lots of apps require at least for you to be able to put in your passcode on your iPhone.
You may be able to view your messages on your Mac using the TouchCopy free demo if your phone isn't locked with a passcode, it's worth a shot https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_messages.php
Alternatively, if you can backup your iPhone with iTunes, you could browse the messages in your backup as detailed here http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/manuals/ibackupextractor/messages.php
What method are you using to backup photos from your iPod Touch to your Mac?
There's a few here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201302
and here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_photo.php
I used TouchCopy to transfer my iPod songs to my new computer as recommended here https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
TouchCopy free demo download is here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
I used TouchCopy for this, there's a guide here on how to copy photos from your iPad to your new PC https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_photo.php
It will also copy your music and podcasts too!
TouchCopy is a good one to try, it's available for Windows and Mac. I had it recommended to me on Apple Support communities and never had any issues. There's a free demo which will copy 100 files over, so you can try it out before paying anything at all. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
You may need to check if the Apple Mobile Device Service is running on your computer. Follow these steps...
Detailed steps here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/touchcopy/how-to-ensure-apple-mobile-device-service-is-running.php
You should be able to import these songs from your iPhone to iTunes on your computer using a program such as TouchCopy and then re-sync your iPhone. There's a free demo here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
There are lots of options to transfer your iPhone to a new computer. I personally favour TouchCopy as it transferred everything from my iPhone - music, photos, messages, etc. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
You could load your iPhone with music from your first computer using iTunes. Then copy that music from your iPhone to your second computer using a program such as TouchCopy. There's more info here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/support/touchcopy/how-to-transfer-your-itunes-library-from-one-computer-to-another.php
Check out if you can copy all your non purchased music to iTunes. You will need a third party app for this, as iTunes will only transfer purchases - TouchCopy is the one I used and it works great. There's a free demo download here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Once you've copied your songs to iTunes, you can safely re-sync or restore your iPhone if you need to.
Thanks for the reminder. After 2 months of use, my main issue with Apple Music is that tracks added to iTunes using it are completely indistinguishable from my iTunes purchases. It has made my iTunes library completely cluttered with songs I listened to but didn't necessarily want to buy.
For those with large libraries, this Tune Sweeper app may be useful to identify tracks added to iTunes by Apple Music https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/tunesweeper/features/features_applemusic.php
I had TouchCopy recommended to me on Apple support communities here https://discussions.apple.com/message/20618414#20618414
Works well and comes highly recommended and safe. More info here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_messages.php
There are third party apps that let you backup your iPhone to iTunes. These will backup your music as well as personal data, unlike iTunes which does not backup music or any other iTunes synced content such as photos or videos you loaded with iTunes. The software I had recommended to me on Apple support communities was TouchCopy. https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy
Once you've backed up try restoring your new iPhone 6 from backup using iTunes.
You could check out all the free trial third party iPhone transfer apps out there and see if you can transfer songs from your iPhone to your computer for free. I used TouchCopy - it was safe and easy to do https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy
Hmm. Why did you buy all your music on a laptop you don't have access to? ;)
Honestly though, this is one of the procedures Apple had to try to prevent back in the day in order to get the record companies to go along with iPod transfers and iTunes and that. A few minutes googling pulled up commercial solutions like iExplorer, TouchCopy, and Senuti (which has an old free version might still work?). Other ones mentioned: iPodDisk, iRip, SharePod, MusicRescue, PhoneView. Good luck.
Don't think iTunes will copy home made songs or songs ripped from CDs to your computer. You will need to use third party software for this. TouchCopy is the one recommended to me on Apple Support Comnunities. Should be able to do this with the free demo here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Are any of your playlists on an iPod or an iOS device? If so, you can copy them straight to a new computer using an iPod transfer program. You can also use iTunes to load playlists to your iPod and then copy over to your new Mac. The program I tried for this was TouchCopy for Mac - saved all my playcounts, ratings etc. There's a free demo here https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/
Check out TouchCopy, it will save voicemails from your iPhone to your Mac. When I researched it, it was the best software for the price https://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_voicemail.php
