Why are people saying this is a good deal?
KeePass + Good password + Backed up on Google Drive / Dropbox / Onedrive or similar will give you great password software for free and its available anywhere and on your mobile as well.
The 3dMark software has free version which covers the needs for 99% of users (coming from someone who owns the paid version).
Daemon Tools Pro is not needed. Windows 8.1 or newer already have built in iso mounting and there are other better free software out there. Virtual CloneDrive or Wincdemu
This is just trying to sell you into subscription based software that you don't need and there are better free versions out there.
Good discussion here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/5u2at2/humble_software_bundle_for_pc_gamers/
use WinCDemu
open source
free of course
totally transparent - no services or background apps
simple to use - double click to mount, eject to unmount
I've found WinCDemu to be hands down the best and most easiest. Its even open source.
Work uses virtual clone drive and it sometimes doesn't work. WinCDemu always works
Features: > One-click mounting of ISO, CUE, NRG, MDS/MDF, CCD, IMG images. > Supports unlimited amount of virtual drives. > Runs on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions from XP to Windows 7. > Allows creating ISO images through a context menu in Explorer. > Small installer size - less than 1MB! > Does not require rebooting after installation. > A special portable version is available.
The installer still has adware afaik and it was a bit misleading about how to opt out last I checked.
If you absolutely need Daemon Tools they you could use Chocolatey to install it. That's supposed to install just the base package without the extras.
But afaik, there is only one reason to use Daemon Tools and that is if you need to support multi track NRG files (which are usually CD audio or Karaoke). Otherwise you can use WinCDEmu or Virtual CloneDrive.
If you absolutely need Daemon Tools then you could use Chocolatey to install it. Chocolatey is supposed to install just the base package without the extras, though I haven't tested it to make sure.
But afaik, there is only a couple of reasons to use Daemon Tools. One is if you need to support multi track NRG files (which are usually CD audio or Karaoke). I've also heard that a Sega Saturn emulator can use it but doesn't work with other virtual drive software.
Otherwise you can use WinCDEmu or Virtual CloneDrive.
After extracting each RAR file, just use a program like the open source WinCDEmu to mount each disk in order.
If you need any help with this feel free to message me.
Also a quick side note: Technically you ARE supposed to own a copy of SWG to be able to play on SWGEmu's servers so go out and buy a copy if you can! Be warned if you post in this thread with the same name as you use to login to SWGEmu or their forums, you might run the risk of having your account banned. Those guys are ultra snoops sometimes.
That being said there is no way for them to detect if you have used these CD's or not so tread lightly and have fun.
Check out WinCDEmu.
Basically after you install it, you just double-click the ISO file and it mounts it. Then when you're done, you just Eject the ISO (ie go to My Computer, right-click on the virtual drive and choose Eject). Simple, fast, and efficient, haven't used anything else since I found this.
Edit: also supports CUE, NRG, MDS/MDF, CCD, IMG formats, and best of all, it's free and open source.
You'll need 2 things: A program that will make an ISO disc image from the disc itself, and a program that will let windows use that ISO as an emulated Optical Drive.
For the creating the ISO, I use InfraRecorder (The "Read Disc" command will generate the disc image)
For mounting the ISO as a virtual drive, I use WinCDEmu. After it's installed, just right-click on an ISO and choose "Select Drive Letter and Mount"
There are literally dozens of programs for either task. I like these two in particular because they're free, open source, and lightweight.
HTH.
get this to mount, is free opensource.win10- its mdf not iso but yeah heres mediafire link for anyone who needs http://www.mediafire.com/file/y76y81ky2rbokaj/JPOG.rar/file
I use WinCDEmu for mounting and creating iso files, it's free, FOSS and you just right click the iso to mount and eject the fake drive it to unmount. That's all I need, If that's what you need then check it out.
Looks like Daemon Tools has some additional features, if they sound useful then sure. Haven't tried it myself in a good long while. That adware stuff makes me want to avoid that company all together personally.
WinCDEmu is the easiest way to mount ISOs in windows. Just double click the iso and it does the rest. It does a good job at being light and seamless, thats why I like it.
I've tried both, and some others, and I am glad to announce that WinCDEmu is the best I've used.
It's lightweight and automatic; you double-click an iso to mount (it can choose a drive letter automatically), and right click the drive and click "eject" to unmount.
I highly suggest you give it a whirl. It works with Win7, too!
/u/captainkaleb
By default, Windows Explorer can mount only standard ISO & VHD(X) images. If you need to work with other image formats, then WinCDEmu or Virtual CloneDrive are pretty good choices.
You can't. There is no native support for .bin files in Windows 8. There are completely free third party software around though like WinCDEmu Which I can personally recommend.
If you are in a situation where you simply can't install a third part tool at all then you're simply out of luck I'm afraid.
It's built in in Windows 8 and for Windows 7 I use WinCDEmu. It's great because you don't even know it's there, just double click the iso file and it's mounted no questions asked. Oh, and it's free.
Depends what it's extracting, if it's a scene release then yeah otherwise it's either the uncompressed game or an installer which will be just as straightforward.
BTW Daemon is pretty dodgy, I suggest using WinCDEmu (it's FOSS) instead: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
If you are running Windows 10 you can mount the iso without any tools, just right click it and select mount as drive
If not i would recommend http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ over Daemon Tools, way smaller and without adware
Which version of Windows are you using? Both Windows 8 and 10 can mount .iso images without requiring any additional software. Alternatively or for other formats, use WinCDEmu:
Windows:
<strong>File Optimizer</strong>
<strong>MediaInfo</strong> - displays detailed info about video and audio files
MacType - makes text on Windows look beautiful, like on Linux or a Mac (it disappeared from the internet unfortunately but you can still find the installer somewhere)
<strong>WinCDEmu</strong> - double click to mount an ISO (like in Windows 8+)
Snipping Tool - it's unbelievable how many people don't know about this.
As others have said, you don't need to worry about which version you have if you use the Morrowind Code Patch.
But if you still want to do it this way, WinCDEmu is a pretty great virtual drive emulator.
This looks pretty good just on the notion that coming up in a Chocolatey search is a good sign. I verified further and found it's licensed LGPL, which is about as free and open as anything ever, next to BSD, Apache and MIT licenses. You can verify the same and find the source on their download page.
winCDEmu is 100% free software and does the same stuff. Or if you have windows 8 just double click the ISO file and windows will mount it without any extra software.
Daemon tools is pretty much obsolete these days, I'm not sure why people would still be using it, let alone pay for it.
Blurgh. I stopped using Daemon Tools after they started bundling a bunch of adware with the free edition. Not to mention the recent addition of spyware that collects data on what you're mounting. This isn't made up; it's a documented, visible "feature" within the program.
Try the free and open-source WinCDEmu.
Same functionality minus emulation (useful back in the day for pirates who copied protected disks, not so much now). Double-click on an image file and it mounts.
I have definitely used winCDEmu with multiple emulators including epsxe.
No first hand experience with command line usage, but it does seem to support it: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/tutorials/cmdline/
You have not specified what you need to mount your images for.
I use this lightweight tool: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/portable/
Also Daemon Tools never fails as a replacement for nero.
uTorrent is bad, has ads and there is a rumour that it has viruses. I'd suggest qBitTorrent (the one I use) or Transmission if you have a mac.
No, WinCDEmu isn't a virus. It just makes it so you can open ISO files and mount them. It's the only way unless you want to burn the ISO onto a CD or something.
Here's the official website: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ Look around if you're not sure and when you're ready, click the download button on the top right.
Dear god no Daemon Tools please, use WinCDEmu, open source and no adware crap like Daemon: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
Gamecopyworld is your friend when it comes to no cd executables: http://gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_the_elder_scrolls_4.shtml
https://archive.org/details/kid-pix-studio-deluxe
the ISO is on the right. if you're not computer savvy, download daemon tools (or this, no crapware added http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/) and use the program to load the ISO like a cd-rom.
I'm fairly sure that it expects the next disc to be mounted under the same drive letter. Obviously this is problematic for installation because even if you copy and paste the content of each disk onto the flash drive, some files will (likely) overwrite.
Using the computer that has an optical drive, use a utility like PowerISO or ImgBurn (note: I'm not sure if ImgBurn can make an .ISO, but I'm sure PowerISO can) to make each disc a .ISO file.
Transfer them onto your main computer and use WinCDEmu to mount Disc 1 by right-clicking on the ISO and clicking Select Drive Letter and Mount.
It will ask you for a drive letter, so give it one (for example, X, if it isn't already taken). Let it install.
When it asks for the next disc, right-click on the X: drive emulated by WinCDEmu, and click Eject.
Right-click on the ISO for disc 2, and click Select Drive Letter and Mount. Choose X (or the same letter Disc 1 was) and mount it.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 with ISO #3 and it should install.
Side-note: I recommend WinCDEmu because it's open source, though "Daemon Tools" is recommended for many pirated cracked games. Don't use Daemon Tools (or anything else, really), because it's resource intensive, slow, and proprietary.
Comment if that method gives you any trouble.
I'm a sucker for simple, unintrusive programs that 'just work', and I haven't been able to find anything better than WinCDEmu. You can do a full install that integrates with Windows and associates CD image files so you only have to double-click to mount, or you can do a portable install. The program is less than 1MB and is well worth your time.
I absolutely recommend http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ it's GNU software written by credible engineers. I've had nothing but problems with daemon tools etc.
So if you're able to successfully mount the ISO can you browse around in the virtual cd drive? I'd try maybe copying the contents of a the mounted iso to your hd, if that fails it's gotta be a problem with the ISO.
Like LordZarak said if you have a working install somewhere you can just copy it over, I've done that too.
As others are saying, ALWAYS choose custom install and then pay close attention.
Screw Daemon Tools. 2 alternatives:
wincdemu - my new favorite - http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
Virtual Clonedrive - http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html
WinCDEmu light weight program to mount ISO, CUE, NRG, MDS/MDF, CCD, IMG files on your Windows system.
Also comes in a portable version for all you techies out there.
I just did an install from USB yesterday. Here are instructions for doing this on Windows. Basically, you just clear everything off the USB drive and copy all the files from the install DVD to the USB.
If you don't want to bother with actually burning a DVD, you can use a tool to mount the iso. I used WinCDEmu. You may be able to mount the iso natively in OS X.
Regarding whether the activation code on your Windows COA (the sticker on the bottom of your laptop) works, often resellers (like HP) will have their own series of codes that won't work with a generic install disk. If this happens, you'll just need to activate it over the phone.
I personally like wincdemu, but most iso mounting software will do what you want, so its pretty much down to your preferences as far as what software will work the best for you.
WinCDEmu is my favorite. Not overly feature packed if you're a power user of some sort, but it makes the basic stuff extremely simple. Double click on an image and it gets mounted with a new drive letter. Double click on it again and it's unmounted. Couldn't be easier. I'm sure there are other programs out there that work like that, but WinCDEmu is the smallest, least confusing one I've found.
I don't know where you got the game, but here's the version I grabbed and tested.
aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWdhLm56LyMhZXk1QldZUVQhTkNPMjNadXkwUVNZSGs2elhuUnFpR1RleGEzWjF6T2pxREdIdUc5SElvRQ==
Copy the above to base64decode.org, or to JDownloader2 if you have it, to see the link.
Inside the zip file are two disc image files in bin/cue format, one for the Base game and one for the Marine/Dino Expansion. You can either burn each onto a blank CD, or mount them using a disc emulation program, like WinCDEmu.
Also inside the zip file are no-CD hacked zoo.exe files, one for the base version and one for the expansion version. These files aren't really necessary if you keep the disc mounted while playing the game.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Yeah, I tested it; the stock Windows virtual drive throws a "The disc image file is corrupted." error.
You need to use WinCDEmu or Alcohol 52% Free Edition (turn off your Internet when installing to avoid adware). Then mount the .ccd file.
I'm not a playstation guy AND this trick may not make your game work but, if you want to make an ISO format from that game then here is what you can do:
In your computer create a folder, like: C:\New Folder
Copy the .cue and .bin files to that newly created folder
Download WinCDEmu and install it
Go to C:\ drive and right click on that folder (New Folder). From the context menu click: Build an ISO Image
Save the ISO anywhere in your computer
ISO file is created! Now try, maybe it will work in the emulator
Try WinCDEmu over adware, I've always installed PC games which come on multiple discs by mounting each.
>I am trying to play SH2 via a download for PC. I got the game installed via the three discs that cam with the file, but when I click on Start Game I get a message saying Please Insert Disc 1.
Where are you selecting "start game"? In the finished installer? Shortcut?
Hello
If you have CD Roms and don't have a drive you could install on one PC and then transfer all by USB to second PC.
I use Win CD Emu which is really easy to use, and the same as daemon tools but totally free.
With Win CD Emu you CAN CREATE AN ISO IMAGE It's easy

StepOne : make iso images of your game CD ROMs
StepTwo : Copy ISOs and mounting software on USB
StepThree : Install software and Mount ISOs
StepFour : Enjoy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you installed Win CD Emu on your Second Machine
-Just doubleclick your *.ISO files and select a letter for the drive you wish to mount your iso on.
say G:
-Without having to eject your first mounted iso, do the same with the CD 2, choose H:
-Same for CD 3 with I:
-same for CD 4 with J:
-Open G:\ and start Setup.exe
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-when asked for CD 2, just erase G:\ and put H:\
-for CD 3 erase H:\ and put I:\
-for CD 4 erase I:\ and put J:\
-when asked for CD 1, put back G:\ instead of J:\
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With Win CD Emu you can mount any number of Iso you want.
(I'm not part of Win CD Emu team)

Courage, hope to see you ingame.
You can create the iso file on a PC with a drive, copy the iso file to the destination pc, then you can mount it. The iso appears like a drive in Windows Explorer.
Create iso: http://infrarecorder.org/
Mount iso: built into Windows 8 and newer (right click the iso). Alternative: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
There may be limitations regarding creating an iso from game discs.
Nađeš igru koja ti se igra. Ako skidaš preko pirata onda to uglavnom dolazi kao neki image i to u 99% slučajeva bude ISO. Prepoznaćeš po onom .iso na kraju imena tog fajla. Taj fajl lepo prebaciš na taj Lenovo laptop, imaš sigurno fleš ili tako nešto ili još jednostavnije skineš direktno na taj Lenovo.
Onda skineš ovo http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/portable/ kada skineš, otvoriš i ideš na dugme mount image, nađeš onaj ISO fajl i učitaš ga u program. Posle samo pratiš uputstva za instalaciju i to je to.
Ako kupiš nešto preko steam-a ili drugog servisa tu ti ne treba disk.
Are you just double-clicking it? If so try manually selecting the ISO with Daemon Tools.
You might also try WinCDEmu its like Daemon Tools but its free. (I personally like it better than Daemon Tools cause its easier to use)
Based on your title I was gonna link WinCDEmu but I saw the post itself and I'm not that confident that it would work for your needs, worth a shot probably.
What game is it? Maybe you can buy it on GOG for a dollar on the winter sale.
You have to mount the ISO first.
Use WinCDEmu for this for example
http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/portable/
It will create a new virtual drive. Open the drive, execute the setup.exe and install the game.
As hypstery says, rip to an ISO and mount it through software. Windows 8 (and I'd guess 10) has the ability to mount ISOs with a right click.
If you try Daemon tools lite, make sure you read every window of the instillation, it wants to install a lot of adware.
Alternatives are WinCDEmu and Virtual Clone Drive (see taw94's post). I don't believe either of those attempts to install adware.
Haven't seen any mention of optical disk image mounting software. WinCDEmu is a nice lightweight and opensource utility for handling optical disk images. Very useful especially for older software.
http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/portable/ to mount ISO free on anything older than Win8 (still works on win8 but unnecessary), use IMGBurn to create the ISO.
Or if you have windows 8/windows 10 (free upgrade if you have 7/8) just double click an ISO file. ISO mounting and burning is built into the OS.
Haven't used Alcohol/Daemon for a long time - if what you use them for is simple mounting, I suggest checking out WinCDEmu, very lightweight and simple and works without a fuss.
>can I just connect an HDD (My Passport to be exact) into the USB of my Fat PS2 and load games off the HDD
Yes, you can. But it'll be slllllllllllllllllooooow
> Is there some special way I have to put the files of the games onto the HDD
Yes. Create two directories: one called CD and another called DVD. Place CD iso's (in .iso format) in the CD directory and DVD iso's in the DVD directory.
The filename of each iso file has to be "gameserial.whateveryouwant.iso" with a max of 32 characters. For example, the filename of Persona 4 (US version) would be "SLUS_217.82.Persona_4.iso"
You can look up serials on redump.org or mount your iso with an app like WinCDEmu and look for a file called "SLUS_XXX.XX," or "SLES_XXX.XX," (for european games) etc
>can I just drag and drop into the files on my computer to the HDD?
That'd be nice, but no.
The best thing to do (without an internal HDD) would be to just set up network booting with OPL (google "OPL network <your OS>") by using that HDD of yours as a share.
WinCdEmu is what I have been using for years as I personally prefer it over any other ISO mounting tool.
It's a simple program but it does exactly what it advertises perfectly well.
Actually there is an even better soultion for that: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
Adds a simple right-click mount option to iso-files and you can eject them through the explorere "eject" option in the drives context menue.
No unneccessary extras, constantly running processes, etc.
When I upgraded my W530 from 7 to 8 I didn't notice any improvement that couldn't be explained by having cleared out my program files and startup items. If you already own Windows 7 and would have to pay for 8, it's probably not worth the upgrade, since freeware utilities like TeraCopy, Process Explorer, and WinCDEmu can provide most of the new functionality. On the other hand, if you own both then Windows 8 performs well and its worst changes can be avoided.
Nah, try WinCDEmu. It's GPL, and I like the interface with it much better than both VCD and Daemon Tools. For example, it creates a virtual drive on a per-image basis, and doesn't keep them around after use. Plus, it lets you pick the drive letters if you want. You don't even need to restart when you install it, so you should really give it a try.
Better idea. To hell with Daemon Tools. Try WinCDEmu for mounting ISOs and such. I love this thing...so much less bullshit related to installing/using it and they aren't trying to force their dumb adware on me. Website is: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/
Found it through the alternativeto.net site someone posted on Reddit a while back. God I love that site.
Use http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ as downerisdead said as Daemon tools is now bundled with spyware/adware while wincdemu is not. And yes they are both completely free.
Also extracting the files from the ISO into a folder should work fine (not opening the iso)
Apparently Roxio was your program that dealt with ISO images, and it sounds like you downloaded ISOs and not setup exe files.
I'd suggest WinCDEmu... its a free little program that lets you mount ISOs as virtual CD/DVD drives. After you install it, you just double-click the ISO and it mounts automatically. Then you should be able to open the virtual drive and install the game. When you're done, you just go to My Computer, right-click the virtual drive, and choose Eject and its gone.
