Dashclock! Still using it on my homescreen
I played around with daydream apps for quite a while to find one I liked
Went with DashClock Widget as it seemed the most functionally customisable.
I've linked it up with Tasker to show the unread count on my Tiny Tiny RSS feed
DashClock Is pretty good, and you can add on extensions through the Play Store to make it do other things.
edit: It also has a daydream mode.
I use Dashclock widget to this day because of the habits from the Jelly Bean days. I used to have it as my lockscreen, and it was so incredibly useful. Still steamed that Google got rid of the option to have widgets on the lockscreen.
I really like using the Dashclock (or Better Dashclock) widget to show a larger clock, weather, missed calls, unread SMS, etc. Don't think either are still in development, but the original Dashclock is still available (LINK), but you'll probably have to install a secondary app, like Arcus Weather (LINK) to get a working weather feed plugin.
Dashclock is both beautiful and customizable. It supports third party plug-ins and can scale dynamically to almost any size.

i like dash clock widget . It has tons of plugins . I put it on my first screen and it shows me notifications without me having to drag down the notification shad and it doubles as a launcher for my most used apps. I have email, weather, sms, phone , hangouts all right there .

I'm not using it currently, but I used to use Dashclock in Daydream mode plus the BetterWeather extension to achieve this result.
Edit: You can set it (or maybe it's not optional) to move the clock around constantly. There are also extensions for pretty much anything - email, calendar, stock prices, etc.

Can't be sure what you mean, but on the main screen im using dashclock which you can configure with add ons from other apps (including my timetable app) to display whatever you want, like what lesson I have next.
Have you tried DashClock widget? It's pretty great. It has a clock and weather (I recommend Better Weather for Dashclock) and other modules like notifications for emails and SMS.

>Notifications in the lock screen. Apple and Google have taken turns to wholesale copy and then later improve on each others notification system. This was Googles turn to copy.
But I've had notifications in my lockscreen since feb 2013 thanks to DashClock
Dash Clock has a pretty cool amoled friendly charging screen. I really like it and have been using it since the day I got the Moto X.
A lot of apps like Pocket have a "True Dark" mode that is suitable for Amoled screens. Looks amazing.
(there is a free version of flight as well)
The clock and the widget itself is Dashclock. The battery info comes from the Dashclock Battery Extension, and the weather information comes preinstalled when you install Dashclock.
Dash clock was incredible on Android 4.4, or it might have been 4.2.2 can't remember anymore.

Looks like Dashclock to me
I just use Nova Launcher for a clean look and organized my apps based on function.
Page 1. Disabled the notification bar with Nova Launcher and made an unorthodox use of DashClock for notifications
Page 2. "Useful" apps + Transit App widget
Page 3. Entertainment and more useful apps + News Republic widget
Try using DashClock with DayDream.
It's been a while since I've used it but I think DashClock might be a potential solution for you.

I like Dashclock Widget.
Widget is dashclock, it supports third party extensions. Dashnotifierfor the apps, it's pretty cool. It gives you a preview of any notifications you get. Weather comes with 1weather app. Icon pack is stamped white.
I use dashclock with extensions for my minimal clock/weather/text/gmail/etc notification needs and love it.
The widget is Dashclock, which lets you add data using extensions or apps that have support for it. The apps shown are:

i use dash clock, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.dashclock
Its Dashclock Widget with a few extensions installed.
Clock: Dashclock Widget
Laucher: Nova
Lockscreen: Next
Icons: Tiny White Icon Pack
I also used Icon Changer Free for apps that did not have pre-made icons from the Tiny White Icon Pack.
Anyone have any suggestions or know of a way I could change the icons on my lockscreen so that they match the phone when unlocked?
Here's the setup then:
-Nova Prime 6x4 with Swipe scrolling effect to make it seem like only the middle of the screen is changing.
-Dashclock widget with various extensions that pop up when I recieve a notification (on the first screen only).
-Iride Icon Pack for most apps, there might be the occasional one I use a different pack for.
-Simple RSS widget with personalised feeds from Feedly.
Lastly, if I hold down the home button, google search/now opens, which is why I don't have a search bar or Chrome icon.
The GIF is cut short but I also have various gestures that I couldn't go without. If you swipe up on any of the icons, an alternate app opens; If you tap on the camera, the camera app opens. If you swipe up on it, Snapchat opens.
Likewise, swiping down anywhere on the screen (unless you're swiping through the news widget) opens the notification bar. Swiping up opens the app drawer but double tapping the screen opens Recently used apps and search.
Seems to be the DashClock Widget, although I'm not sure.
First time posting, and I'm a beginner so advice is welcomed!
