Mini Metro is worth a look, i don't generally play mobile games but I find myself opening this one up occasionally when i've got time to kill.

The Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic port is brilliant too, first time i've ever completed a mobile game, shame they haven't ported KOTOR2 yet!
In a completely different vein of thought, long train commutes go fantastic with audiobooks.
Whoa, some really cool stuff. I hope OEMs can make some cheaper standalone headsets cause 400 for the Mirage Solo is just crazy when you can get an Oculus Rift for that much. But this definitely makes Daydream a much more appealing platform and opens up AR experiences.

If you have 60php to spare, the game is Mini Metro, it's actually pretty fun and challenging. Otherwise at least watch a gameplay vid on youtube.

In addition to the existing responses, there's no reason why you can't fake the bloom. Just switch out your character sprite for one with a little halo around it--you can even screenshot the bloom-y character as a reference.
Other than that, a compelling color scheme can level up a game's visuals. This effect is perhaps best exemplified by, say, Mini Metro or Thomas Was Alone.

I recommend Mini Metro. It's a Android / iOS game where you need to plan public transport routes around station locations and passenger demand. Fun little one to play on the train, and it's so cheap. Give it a go!
There's a game on Android (not sure about iOS) that does this very thing. You build a metro network. Its called Mini Metro. Link goes to Play Store. Its a nice wind-down game for me.

I know its not driving trains but Mini Metro is a great little game thats basic and easy enough to start but addictive and slowly becomes very difficult.

It's super addictive
The Kairosoft games are good fun. The devs who made the original Game Dev Story. My favourite are that, Grand Prix Story, Pocket Stables, Pocket League Story, and The Manga Works. But they're all pretty good.
I have also started playing Mini Metro, which is really good fun. I like to play this on the tube for added immersion.
Also have enjoyed the Rayman Run games- Jungle and Fiesta.

From that statement, I'm not sure if he has actually heard from developers about Steam forcing them to maintain price parity across stores. It's even stranger since Epic sells games on Steam, so they should at least know something from their Steam agreement about this. Maybe he should try asking someone working on Steam? Simple thing to do, no?
And according to the Steamworks Documentation, for Steam keys, it says:
> - You should use keys to sell your game on other stores in a similar way to how you sell your game on Steam. It is important that you don't give Steam customers a worse deal.
> - It's OK to run a discount on different stores at different times as long as you plan to give a comparable offer to Steam customers within a reasonable amount of time.
Anyone who spends the smallest of efforts to look for Steam key deals are most likely aware of the multitude of storefronts who frequently price Steam keys lower than those sold on Steam. Just take a look at /r/gamedeals or https://isthereanydeal.com/ to look at sales from legitimate stores.
For example, according to isthereanydeal, the lowest key price for Resident Evil 2 is $44.88 at 25% off. Right now it is $59.99 on Steam. Big price difference yet this difference is fairly standard for newly released games on Steam.
If I didn't know any better, basically what Steam wants is: We allow you to generate keys for free. If you generate keys to sell on your own, don't permanently price them $10 at your own store or other stores while selling them for $15 on Steam. If you frequently discount at 80% elsewhere while the steepest discount is only 50% on our store, that's the same thing. Otherwise everyone would just buy elsewhere while we still carry the burden of hosting the game on our servers, downloads, reviews, communities, etc.
This is the easiest conclusion to reach from reading the documentations, yet it's somehow painted as something difficult to understand. But if it is truly as unclear as he says, just ask Steam for more clarity?

Here's some games I've rarely or never seen around here
Pocket tanks (iap in the form of weapon packs, but not too unbalanced and still fun without. Multiplayer not mandatory at all so you don't have to worry about iap unbalancing things). This one's been around way longer than smartphones.
Ignore the charts, they're garbage. Good stuff gets posted here, but it's often reposts of stuff that's already been posted. Make sure you download the and keep the games you enjoy so your recommendations adapt, mine are pretty good at this point. And especially, check what other games a Dev has made!! Great way to find hidden gems.
