Onirim: A game about finding keys to the doors of your dreams to escape before you're trapped in the Dreamworld forever. More of a set collection game. (also on iOS/steam i think, typing this out on my android phone)

Hi, guys! Boss Monster guy here. It's great to finally have the app hitting tablets. Here are the download links:
Android tablets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dbm.project iPad 2 and above: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/boss-monster/id975208198
If you run into bugs, we'd be really grateful if you report them to !
Steam and Kindle are still 3+ weeks away but coming along nicely.
Thanks for checking out our game!
Might want to take a look at Summoner Wars as well. Cross platform and is getting Playdek's new MP interface soon (and a big "Digital Showdown" of some top players is coming very soon).
Also: another thumbs-up for Ascension as well. Love it.
Neuroshima Hex is a great tactical game with challenging AI. Plays well on mobile devices (ios for myself) and the digital implementation is faithful to the board game.
Here’s the android link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bdc.nh&hl=en_AU
I don't know anything about the trademark side of things, but from an app store side of things, be careful of how you name the app, and what screenshots you use, if you want to include it on Google Play. Things like "Settles of Catan Scoreboard" will get you removed from Google Play, but "Scoreboard for Settlers of Catan" are fine. Example: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/01/07/reddit-sync-facing-suspension-play-store-impersonation-even-though-google-thing-2-years-ago-reversed-decision/
As for the screenshots, you can't have things like artwork for the game in them*(See the description for Curated)*.
Although not so similar to Waterdeep, Maquis is a simple worker placement board game that I like a lot for android, w/ a free trial: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.boardnaut.studios.maquis.android&hl=en
I don't know that this has been asked before. It's a fine question. :)
And it's a good point that we should probably set up a wiki for answers to questions like this.
In addition to what /u/citadel712 mentioned, there are a lot of strategy games and/or CCG-style games online.
Some games are web based:
I'll try to update this later when I have more time. And from there I'll see what we need to do to add a wiki to the sub.
That app doesn't exist in the play store. You probably only have access to it and the link because you installed it before it was removed. Nobody else can install it
Either way, I'd guess that the official app is not only nicer but has many more features. Here's the early access:
Well this is weird. I was going to talk about Ascension as it's one of my favorite games, but I went to check the Play Store to mention the price, and it looks like it has been removed from the Play Store? Or at least the link doesn't work for me when I'm not logged in... The link does work when I'm logged in, which is good since I had purchased almost all the DLC. Oddly I don't see anyone talking about it. It does look like the base game is still free on iOS so you may be able to check it out.
Anyway, Deck Builders are my favorite genre and Ascension is probably my favorite of them. There's a bit more conflict than Dominion, it's a bit deeper than Star Realms, and the expansions add a lot to the game. I haven't played online in ages so I don't know what the current community is like.
I haven't tried Shards, though, so can't compare.
Also check out Google Opinion Rewards. Answer a few questions every once in a while and earn some Google play credits to spend on games.

FreeCiv or Race of Nations which is an unauthorized adaptation of boardgame Through The Ages (which is coming w/ their own mobile version soon)
> While it has been a while, this played remarkably similar to the lord of the rings "the confrontation".

To the extent that a comprehensive list exists it's probably here: https://boardgamegeek.com/blog/164/ios-board-games - note that this isn't exclusive to either phone or pad, but each entry denotes if the app in question supports either or both.
Generally speaking the games that are iPad only are the games that require a lot of information displayed and need the screen real estate. The notable ones that leap to mind are Small World, Blood Bowl, and Sentinels of the Multiverse.
You could subscribe to this geeklist, since people come and comment when a game is on sale; subscription gives you a notification whenever there's a new comment.
Other solution is to make an appshopper account and either follow this wishlist, or add your wanted games and set notifications on price drops.
There's been an android app for Dominion for quite some time now. It's unofficial but has 7 Expansions and AI. Its been about 10 years since it was last updated, still pretty good though.
This steam listing says developer playdek, publisher Asmodee digital. Outdated info?
Likewise the Google play package name: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdekgames.agricola_rev
Eight-Minute Empire - quick and easy, but engaging area of control game.
Steam: Rails to Riches - a railway tycoon, pretty much.
Both operate on the idea of limited turns-per-game, both loosely based on card mechanics. Both from us - Acram Digital - same team behind Istanbul, which you said you're not a fan of. But neither of them are worker placement, so hey!
I play Castles of Mad King Ludwig on my phone all the time - but since I'm already familiar with playing it in real life maybe I think it's easier than it actually is? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobilecastles.castles&hl=en_US
Maquis Board Game - A cool single player worker placement game. The in game tutorial isn't great, I learned to play by watching a youtube video of a guy playing the print & play physical version.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.boardnaut.studios.maquis.android
Many of the other games I would recommend have already been mentioned in this thread, but another one I really like is D & D Lords of Waterdeep.
I have it installed on my Note 8 from a previous mass install of board games to be "at the ready".
When I go to the app page from App Info, the page says it is not compatible with my device (even though at one point it did install...)
Trying to search via play store did not yield a result for me either. Had to use the App Info shortcut.

Hi there, I just released Forward Line on Android also.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Dreamreason.ForwardLine
Version changes for week 7 build v1.03 live on Google Play now - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oneupplus.spellswordcards.demontide Tweaks for several battles. Some card art replacements. New artwork for game boards. New crafting cards, hints are found in the encounter aftermath screens. Fixes for several broken cards. Mage and Priest classes reworked. All classes level 4 cards added. New UI and navigation. 2 new quest lines, 6 additional encounters. Additional store and items to be purchased. Ability to removed unwanted heroes Fixes for some android screen glitches.
I plan on getting this but honestly trying to decide between this and another new release in the same genre - Lost in the Dungeon
What do you think of Elder Sign: Origins? That might help inform responses.
Twilight Struggle is definitely well regarded. I haven't played it myself.
I think the heaviest ones I have on my tablet are probably Suburbia and Castles of Mad King Ludwig, neither of which is particularly meaty.
Rebuild (and its sequel Rebuild 3, though I haven't played it) is not a tabletop game, but I always think of it when I play Dead of Winter because they're quite similar... A story based survival game.
This is a very entertaining single player worker placement/resource management board game that has been out for awhile on Android and is coming soon to iOS, the app was submitted to Apple on July 9th.
Maquis Board Game is a fun little solo worker placement/resource management game for Android, I recommend checking it out: Maquis Board Game
Another one I haven't seen mentioned here yet is XenoShyft: XenoShyft
Other titles I would suggest looking into on android are: Neuroshima Hex, Puzzle Strike, Suburbia, and Castles of Mad King Ludwig.
Boardnaut Studios has previously made some other great app conversions of print and play board games. I would highly suggest checking some of them out if you have not done so. Cheese Chasers is a nice quick fix puzzle/tile game, and the Maquis Board Game is a really great solitaire worker placement game that I have played quite a bit of and still continue to enjoy.
Background information: My friend and I came up with the idea of this game about 4 years ago. In this time, we’ve had our fair share of ups-and-downs, but now Toppu is finally available on the Play store and App Store. We had to juggle our time quite a bit, because we both have full time jobs and we didn’t want to miss out on too many family board game nights.
The goal of this board- & card game is to get your animals (Kubs) to the top of the mountain as fast as possible. You play cards to move your Kubs on a randomized board against three other players (ai, friends & family or random opponents). I hope you have as much fun to play this game as we had making it!
It's available for free on the Play Store and App Store
I always like to plug the Godot game engine, which is free (as in freedom) and open source software! And it's got excellent 2D and 3D game support, excellent documentation, and quite a sizable community
This appears to be the lowest Eclipse drops to, but it does so once a month given past price fluctuations. Picked it up, looking forward to this entire learning experience!
Skribbl is basically Pictionary without teams! you can have up to 8 people and add custom words.
It's not as tabletop-esque but it's easy to setup and my friends have been having a lot of fun with it
Here is a link to Andy the Android Emulator for PC. There is supposed to be a mac version too but I have not tested that. The game is running great under Andy on an older (i5 660) PC: http://www.andyroid.net/
Note that in the game you have to hit the lower parts of the buttons, but this is an issue on some actual android devices as well.
i have boardgame but sometimes playing it feel more quick and eco friendly using digital, like Ganz schön clever. i can play anywhere, i still need bring goal card though even there is card dealing
Istanbul: Digital Edition App Store and Google Play - $4.99
Focused PvE exploration and deck building, epic boss fights, crafting and bite sized battles good for casual play.
Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oneupplus.spellswordcards.demontide
Discord (discussion and feedback and other formats downloads) - https://discord.gg/SjzrwSR
Everyone is warmly welcome to help shape the game, enjoy!
Battle of Polytopia local multiplayer up to 4 players is completely free. Very easy game to learn with really cute graphics.
If you are interested in some app driven print and play there is:
Escape Team
Expedition RPG
Is this the same game? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1589943376/
I love the game description and reviews, but man it seems like a very rare game! The one on Amazon is even at $100. Is it due to the rarity? Or has this game always been priced that way?
thanks, i'll have an eye on it, love the way you are doing this, for sure you have me for this game! You should get on twitter an tweet your progress... i'm also there (@WLueger), making a card game about the habsburgs, also always wanted to make a war-game, especially the "stalingrad" theme i was interested in. but as i started with this book: https://www.amazon.de/Playing-World-Simulating-Adventures-Role-Playing/dp/0615642047/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1479442167&sr=8-18&keywords=history+war+game+book i realised that i'm not that far ;-)
Twilight Struggle for a long game, Race for the Galaxy for short games. Both are brilliant.
Edit : added link to play store
I don't 100% know that game tuner is on the phones. But it's just an app you can open. It shows all the games is "tuning" for performance.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.gametuner.thin
Check out my games: http://boardnaut.com/
I always test them primarily on my phone (5 inch screen), so I try to make them playable there :)
My latest one Constantinople plays nicely of smaller screens with one hand (although it does not feature fancy graphics)
> For a card game, Ascension has a very active online community too. Great game. iOS only.
Actually, the Android version has been out for a year or two.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdekgames.android.Ascension&hl=en
Hah, thanks /u/artitumis for sharing! I appreciate the support more than you know!
The Android link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underbytestudios.heroesguard.journal&hl=en
San Juan is one of my favorites. (slimmed down version of Puerto Rico using only cards).
Tigris and Euphrates
Splendor
Suburbia
Ahh, an iOS app would be wonderful but I'll need to refine the mobile experience a whole lot before publishing there. It's currently playable and totally functional on mobile web but I'd really love to make a ground-up native experience for it.
I have however actually published an Acrofever app for Android, which is basically just a web wrapper packaged as an app. Might run a little better than just using your device's browser, but the user experience is the same, and currently sub-par.
For now I recommend using the desktop version and invite your friends to your games!
