Reigns! It's like a continuous roguelite choose-your-adventure game where you play as a king and have to balance your kingdom's religion, civil morale, soldier morale, and wealth. If any of them get too low, you lose. If any of them get too high, you get overthrown and lose.
The gameplay is extremely easy to pick up - if a peasant comes to you with a problem, IE: wolves are eating the kingdom's children, you can either swipe right to help, or swipe left to ignore. Each choice has a random outcome to encourage replayability.
As soon as you either die/get exiled/lose, you immediately pick up from your previous playthrough as a new heir to the throne and keep playing.
Die in a swordfight! Die in a dungeon! Die from eating too much food! Die from old age! Die from getting mauled by a wolf!
Reigns has interface screw along these lines. The king can become hard of hearing which turns text partially unintelligible.
Also available on Android for same price
It's also cheaper on the Google Play store (in Canada) at the moment. $1.64 CAD on Steam, $1.29 CAD on Play Store.
The publisher seems to be keeping the mobile version as up to date as the Steam version.

I know, right?
I just saved Mighty Mage from sharing that same fate last week, after it got deleted by Google without them sending me any warning theretofore.
I don't even collect any private data myself, apart from offering a chance to consciously and consensually subscribe to my mailing list. I thought I was in the clear, I was wrong and one day I woke up to a brave, new world without my most popular game in it.
Fun fact: there are some popular games that don't have a privacy policy at all even though they do collect or process your data. We're talking big games from the renowned publishers, not the unpopular noobs like me. This proves that Google picks the games that it's going to screen for GDPR compliance, and possibly proceed to take down, in a random and chaotic fashion. They don't even bother to regularly check all the top games from last few years, which makes no sense because these are the games that are most prone to issues regarding privacy - since there are so many people playing them.
Here's a challenge:
Find and open the link to Privacy Policy of the game "Reigns". I double dare you.

I got my Aunt Reigns when I saw here getting into one of these skinner-box Facebook games personally.
> I don't mind that they spend a ridiculous amount of time on things like online bingo, I just hate the fact these companies are like predators preying on my parents who barely know how facebook works.
It terrifies me how much my elders play Facebook games personally. The stuff is the new crack.
There's also "Reigns" an extremely simple text adventure game based on the tinder UI, that's getting a big following on YouTube. It's probably the most fun mobile game I've played (other than LoZ on emulators).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns
that's either sort the court or reigns. more likely reigns. yea. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns&hl=en_US this is the google play version. PS, the four meters are religiousness, popularity, military strength, and wealth.
Run a kingdom with comedic card swiping. No IAPs, no unnecessary permissions. Devolver Digital only publishes games by independent developers, and personally I'm a fan of their fandom for pixel art.
I really like Reigns and Card Thief.
Reigns is civ meets tinder.
Card Theif is a card-based, roguelite heist game.

How about Reigns?
Or what was that other text-based ruler game that came out a couple of years ago? It'll take me a minute to recall. Hrmm...
edit: Found it, it was King of Dragon Pass.

I've really been enjoying Reigns. I've been playing it on my phone. It's a really nice way of gameifying short blocks of text. You can change the language to Russian in the settings and the translation is good.
For casual stuff, Reigns is cool for learning purpose, you have to read in French.
I don't have any Android action/adventure games on my phone, they are mainly emulated games (GBC and NDS games).
I tried a couple of other RPG puzzle games and they were ok, but I liked PAD a lot better. I did play a p2w final fantasy game for a bit. Definitely not worth it.
Now I only play buy once games like board games and single player games like Reigns when it was on sale (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns) with the exception of where most of my time goes into now which is a collectible card game called Eternal (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.direwolfdigital.Phoenix). It's very F2P friendly and has complexity similar to Magic the Gathering but with some mechanics that would be very hard to pull off with a physical card game. I like that it's available and syncs between Android, iOS, Xbox, & Steam. An alternative to that is Shadowverse which has more Japanese art, unfortunately many images of which I wouldn't be comfortable in public with.
It really is not that special, generally at work I use web whatsapp for communication, so not that much screen on time, I listen to music, and log my sport on the phone.
I don't enjoy games on my mobile except Reigns, but don't play that daily, maybe weekly.
I would guess that if I gamed more or had more SOT, ours could be comparable. I have pocket mode on under advanced mode and put it on airplane mode when going to bed. My brightness slider is almost always to lowest or close to, as I don't enjoy looking into a sun.
I generally don't load a huge amount of apps on my phone as most tend to use background services or popup notifications that keep reminding you 'hey look at me!'. I have mostly Google apps, whatsapp, instagram, 5x5, Spotify (loaded with 30 gb of music), some app to detect speed traps. Nothing out the ordinary.
the most fun I had this year with a mobile game was with Reigns.
Heard good things but did not play yet: - Sarah is Missing - The Silent Age
I have been playing this game for the last two days and it is so much fun!
Reigns - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns

I'm posting via mobile, so I'm sorry for the ugly link, but I've been playing Reigns nonstop lately.
There’s a fun mobile game called “Reigns” that illustrates this concept in a way I never would have thought about before.
At its core, it’s a choose your own adventure game with simple replies. It operates the same way tinder does (swipe right=yes swipe left=no) and you have to answer questions and make decisions that effect your popularity with 4 different groups (church, subjects, military, money). If any groups bar reaches zero, your rein ends and you take on the rule of the next monarch. Super simple gameplay that has a lot of fun hidden elements to it. I believe it’s also available on switch but it was definitely developed as a mobile game.
I have never played them (also a paid game) but great reviews I've seen.
Reigns: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns
Also a Game a Thrones version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reignsGot
Second game in series?: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns2
Reigns would be my choice if I need to find a similar experience to Crusader Kings.
Android Links
I just google searched all these, so hopefully they are the correct games
Reigns is on sale too for $1.49
Tinder meets ruling the Kingdom - Reigns.
It's on sale for $1 in the US so I can imagine it'll be on people's minds for a bit.
I have enjoyed Reigns and Riptide GP Renegade.
"Reigns" is also amusing for a casual game.
I've got a bad habit of buying games, playing a few minutes and never touching again. That said the ones I actually play regularly and highly recommend:
Reigns for Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns
You could also try "Reigns" if you want a "choose your next move" clicker rng rpg game. Which is really nice !
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns&hl=fr
Reigns is pretty fun - that's been keeping me busy while I ~~take shit breaks~~ HAVE LUNCH at work and on my commutes.
Beyond that there are a few that keep me dipping back in for more;
Not Golf is fun
Decked Out is one of the best solitaire games I've played.
Adventurer League scratches an RPG itch, but it's not super complete and there's a limit on stuff you can do right now.
I don't think any mobile game list would be complete without Pixel Dungeon and it's billions of offshoots (Broken Pixel is a favourite of mine, but there's HEAPS of them). /r/PixelDungeon is the place to go if you want more chat on that front.
All of these are free except reigns (which is, by the by, the best of them), and only Not Golf and Decked Out have microtransactions but not to the point of making gameplay insufferable (neither force you to pay more, and neither force you to watch adverts at any point).
Bonus mention for Fallout Shelter, which is fun for a bit and I've definitely paid money for stuff in it, but to be honest it gets kind of old fast and it can be a total ballache.
Consiglio sempre Reigns
Großartiges Spiel zum zwischendurch spielen.

I know a few games like that. In no particular order:
Reigns (they also have a GoT version and a sequel)
Basic swipe left/right, try to keep all your stats in balance. You lose if any fill all the way or empty all the way.
A deck building game with simple swipe left/right, try to survive and beat the boss. I like this one a lot.
An amazing twist on the solitaire games that just make you match one above or below the current number, kinda like fairy solitaire but with actual choices about how you build your character along the way.
Merged! Is about placing domino shaped blocks into a grid, you can rotate them, and when three of the same number touch, they merge into the next highest number, 1-6 and then a letter M, when 3 M's touch they kinda blow up in a 3x3 grid around the last M that connected. Pretty fun.
Quite a few ads, but it's a simple crossword/Boggle type game where you try to make all the words you can out of a set assortment of letters. It places them in a circle and you spell your word by swiping.
An amazing little game about mixing potions, it's a kind of unique card game format where you have to maximize score, but you need to satisfy each customers specific requirements and try not to get a negative number because there's only four piles of cards (red, yellow, blue, and green) but each pile has bad black cards hidden in it.
An amazingly cute little game made by the people who make the Kirby games on Nintendo consoles (if I'm not mistaken). I highly recommend this. It's kinda like a claw game but the claw flies around and can be given different powers based on it's outfit. A HUGE assortment of different mission objectives, and it even culminates in a freaking boss fight at the end. Just an absolutely amazing game.
An awesome version of pinball, where it's kinda about getting as far as you can before time runs out. You hit white dots to extend your time, and whatever leftover time you have at the end of each section is how much time you start the next section with (if you run out). There's little minigames in it that give you extra time too. I wish this developer was still making games. They had some amazing ideas and mechanics. Absolutely amazing soundtrack in this one, and when you finally reach the end of it all, there's a mode called infinite where you start at the absolute beginning and get as far as you can in one run. You kinda need to hands for this, entire gameplay is just left and right screen buttons for the flippers, sometimes I press near the top so my phone's weight is better supported.
AN IMPORTANT TIP ABOUT ADS: if you hate ads in single player games or games that don't need internet connection after initial download, go to your app settings and click that game, go to it's permissions, go to whatever kind of data controls you have and just disable wifi use and cellular data use. Don't turn on the feature about unrestricted background data. If you do it right, you shouldn't get any ads at all. For example in wordscapes I still occasionally get a pop-up ad, but it's hard programmed in and just an ad for their other games. This completely removed those videos that pop up in between levels and runs and whatnot.
That game is pretty unique. Have you tried Reigns? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.reigns

Try the Reigns series of game. They recently released a Game of Thrones version and it's awesome.
Then there is SIMULACRA which is a lost phone horror genre and extremely good. There another from the same team and it's free, called SIMULACRA: Pipe Dreams
You can also play Broken Age which is a point and click adventure. Some puzzles require some knowledge of both the story to solve but otherwise it's all good.
Mekorama is also great and there are no in-app purchases that help the game. It's just donation to the devs. There are a lot of level and a level creator so if you run out of levels to play, just play community created levels
Lilly Looking Through - 2-3 hours, a cute puzzle game
Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons - 2-3 hour game by the A Way Out dev. Wierd to describe, but it's single-payer co-op puzzle game.
Antichamber - an abstract first person puzzle game. A bit of Metroidvenia there too.
Mirror's Edge - really short, but good. You know what this is.
Her Story - You should've watched the LP, but it's a... Word Search game.
Defunct - a... Physics based speed game. 2-3 hours.
Sorcery! - Literally a "choose your own adventure" book with stats and mini-games. Not sure how long it is.
The Fall - Again, there was an LP. About 4-5 hours, puzzle game. There is also a sequel. Didn't play that one yet.
Slightly bigger (2 session) games:
Vanquish - about... 5-7 hours. Shooter by platinum.
Space Marine - about... 5-7 hours. 3ed person shooter. The best non Dawn of War game based on 40k.
Transistor - 8-9 hours. My personal favorite Supergient game.
The Cat Lady - 9-ish hours puzzle game. There was an LP.
Reigns and Reigns: Her Majesty - better on the phone. Find "choose your own adventure" kind of games.
And hey... As a person that has particular interests in this Sub... May I suggest Sonic Forces and Sonic Generations? Both games are under 8 hours, especially if you're not going for a 100% and I think are really enjoyable.
Can't believe no one's mentioned Reigns.
Actually it was ported to PC xd
Ooh! Is it a text based game?
