And you're right about it being early. I promised myself I wouldn't move from Windows 7 to Windows 10, that I'd bite the bullet and switch to Linux, but when push came to shove I sighed and upgraded my workstation to 10, tamed 10's more obnoxious features, and moved on.
You may also be right about Microsoft's caving for backward compatibility but maybe not. The security landscape is just so much more complicated now that they may choose to make a clean break with the past. Maybe not as drastic as Apple did with OS X, but drastic enough. We'll see.
For my part I'll offer anyone who gets a FTGH computer the option of Windows 10 or Linux, probably Elementary OS. I should probably also offer the Neverware/ChromeOS option as well, eh?

I had to use the clear lunch bags when I worked for Stuller. Hate them because they don't last long before the plastic starts to crack and they break. Look for any with the strap reinforced like this and it might last a bit longer.
Faster than a bike on sidewalks sounds messed up.
Bike lanes should be up to 25 MPH or so. Sidewalks should be up to 10 MPH or so.
Average walking speed is around 3 MPH, running 7 MPH, average biking speed is around 13 MPH, fit road cyclists closer to 25 MPH.
If you're going too fast for a path it will make it feel unsafe to the others who are going the expected speed.
The best reason to go faster is to use the roads. Going 30 MPH on a road with cars going 35 MPH feels a lot safer than going 15 MPH with the cars going 35 MPH.

It's a crowd sourced data entry site. You do tasks like typing up scanned stuff or transcriptions etc. But it can take a day to get approved and I'm not sure what is involved in getting the income into a bank account as I just use it for Amazon fun money.

The other precautions are fine with me. If masks and negative tests are enforced, then yes, the vaccine does not HAVE to be a requirement. That's where the part about not smoking around others comes in. You don't have to quit, but you still can't be around others while you are a risk. Get tested, mask up, and be respectful and it won't be questioned. Those exceptions are already included in vaccine mandates.
As for shutting down, it wasn't effective because it wasn't enforced. Businees acting in good faith were hurt, while those ignoring it, and therefore extending it, stayed open. We can see that in countries where it was done correctly it saw success. No, it wasn't a miracle solution. But hindsight is 20/20. At the time, it was the correct, if difficult, decision. I will not fault effective, active measures taken with the best knowledge available at the time. I am only saddened that the community could not make it work, once again for inconvenience.
Also, for the sake of argument though I get your point, here is what I wear for hours a day Filter. This would completely prevent smoke inhalation in non-eating situations. It would just force the inconvenience on those being affected instead of the smoker. Kinda like forcing other precautions on people to let one or two unvaccinated people in the event.

Actually I just stumbled across this. In your instance mesh network is the way to go when you need to cover a large sq ft area without wired infrastructure to provide backhaul. I've converted several people over from airport extremes to these with great results.

Check out Latro in the Mist if you have a fantasy/mythology/ancient world interest. Gene Wolfe has been described as one of the best living authors in the world, and he really is amazing.
The book is cool; it's writing from the perspective of a Roman soldier, and is meant to serve as a tour of the ancient world through the eyes of the people who lived there. Very interesting and intriguing, but required a lot of concentration.
