I wanted this to be accurate so I did some research on how many tortillas a trebuchet could actually launch 300 meters.
According to Amazon 10 8 inch tortillas weight about 17.5 oz.
Now 17.5 oz is 0.4961167 kg and 90 kg/0.4961167 kg = 181.4089306.
That being said there would be 181.4089306 packets of 10 8 inch tortillas being thrown. We can't disregard the .4089306 packets though. .4089306*10 is very close to 4.
So, now we multiply the 181 packets of tortillas by 10 (because again there are 10 tortillas per packet) and we get 1,810 tortillas. Add the extra 4 tortillas and we have 1,814 tortillas.
In conclusion, a trebuchet could launch a beautiful 1,814 8 inch tortillas over 300 meters at a time. Also, IU still sucks.

BTW: GL with everything in the future Young. Hopefully you can be in the NBA next year.
Hated by everyone else: Khalid El-Amin.
A pudgy trash-talker. People used to make fun of his weight, being Muslim and his high-pitched voice. A lot of people hated him.
The crowning moment of that hatred was the Dec. '98 game at Pitt - we were #1 in the country and the Pitt crowd was very hostile. The student section apparently crossed the line and was really getting on him about his religion. After he hit the game winner (came back from down 4 with :11) he jumped up on the scorer's table and started screaming at the Pitt crowd. Debris and bottles were thrown at him, I remember Ricky Moore got a cut lip from being hit in the face with a bottle.

Article about the hostility, including Jim Calhoun talking about getting hit in the head with coins, bottles and gum throughout the game: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2002&dat=19981213&id=YmguAAAAIBAJ&sjid=O9oFAAAAIBAJ&pg=6250,3304392
Hated by our fanbase: Definitely Taliek Brown. Wound up being a 4-year starter and we won the 2004 title with him as our PG, plus he's our all-time assists leader. But for much of his career he was a turnover prone PG that was probably the worst shooter we've ever had in our starting back court.
Here is an article I found from Washington Post that details how "The Butler Way" came to be. The tl;dr version is that Coach Collier got it from Tony Bennett's dad, Dick Bennett.
edit: words.
edit 2: Here is a page from a chapter written by Tony Bennett in the book "Court Sense". He explains how his father instilled those values in him.
Edit 3: Nice try, Butler.

There was an ESPN article a few years ago that stated that over a certain period of time, Prince George's county in Maryland produced more McDonald's All-Americans than every state but California.
Now, it's all cyclical and I'm sure that was just a really good run for a few years, but that's still impressive.
Okay, I figured I might as well find that article.

For example, the Trump Campaign document listed more than $21,000 in donations to the "UCLA Foundation" and the "UCLA Women's Golf Program." Brian Haas, a spokesman for the university, said UCLA searched multiple times for records of donations, but came up empty-handed.

Just remembered the interview that covers Stack pretty well. It was on the terrific Lowe Post podcast from 2 years ago.
9:54 - Talks about the challenges of becoming the lead chair as a g-league coach. About managing relationships more so than X's and O's. The humility of making mistakes.
11:57 - Covers about on his coaching style. Transition defense, pace and space. "No paint, no middle team". Keep them on the sideline. Switch mid p&r. Difficulty of switching everything. Wouldn't enjoy coaching himself (Stack known more for iso and midrange as a basketball player). Weakside action. Constant offball movement. Wants to run. Uses UNC's secondary break.
17:48 - Discusses practice drills. The importance of being well conditioned.
That's about the first 21 minutes. Afterwards is more on his playing career and as a person stuff. Worth a listen if you care about the NBA. Mavericks, Avery Johnson, 07 and 11 Finals, Nets, DWill, Blatche, fights, family, Wizards, MJ, etc.
Here's how I did it:
I keep every logo on file, editing as a .tiff with a clear background. Here's a a Google Drive folder with them all. I get all the logos from this awesome site, but those are formatted to have a blank background.
Anyway, I bring up the logo and place it in that corresponding box, making sure that the layer for the logo is in the right folder. This is important because not only does it help keep everything organized, but those folder have a layer style applied so that any logo you drop in the folder will now have the white stroke outline and a bit of a drop shadow.
Once the logo is in the right place, we need to fill in the background. Press 'G' to go to the paint bucket tool, then hold down the 'Alt' key (if you're on PC). While holding it down, a little eye dropper should appear. Now, you can hover over the logo, and whatever pixel you're hovering over, once you left-click, that color will now be the color of your paint bucket. Awesome!
Now just click in the box and the background will fill in with that exact color from the logo.
Hope that helps! If you have any more questions let me know.
Also, if you don't want to add the logo every time the team advances, you could probably just duplicate the layer then drag it where you need it.
Feb 8th - 11th (Thurs - Sun) weekend in Tucson is Arizona v UCLA and then USC.
All three teams should be ranked.
February in Tucson is like 72 degrees and sunny.
Tucson parties.
Kinda tough to get to, you'll likely have to connect depending on where you fly from. You could also fly in and out of PHX and hit up Tempe / Scottsdale on either Thurs or Saturday to mix it up. Tucson is about 90 minutes south.
Lol. Iowa is probably the ugliest team in the country. Jarrod Uthoff and Adam Woodbury are probably the definition of ugly. I've said before that Uthoff looks like those dogs they put on the cover of dog treats with the fake human teeth smiling.

Ah gotcha. AP vote results are public - I'm trying to figure out who voted for Wichita State.
edit: found a great site. Elton Alexander of The Plain Dealer (Ohio) ranked them #24. I guess he forgot to watch the games or something and just guessed.
You can play with 4 people. I assume most teams would forfeit in the event it ever became 5v3 or so, but there have been cases of ending OT games with less than 5 players, such as this one in 1998 where Clemson lost to UNC and played the last minute 5 on 4
Nope, you can play with 4 people. I assume most teams would forfeit in the event it ever became 5v3 or so, but there have been cases of ending OT games with less than 5 players, such as this one in 1998 where Clemson lost to UNC and played the last minute 5 on 4
UNC came to town when I was at Arizona in 2007 - we were ranked 17th, they were #4, but they were down two men including one of their leading scorers. We had a good class with Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill, but we'd lost some tight games and a couple on the road - we weren't sure what to make of the team to that point in the season.
We camped out, face painted, all that jazz.
10 minutes into the game and we're in a dog fight. One minute later we're down by 4. That was the closest it would be for the remainder of the game.
Worst home loss under Lute Olson, an absolute embarrassment of a game. The mood around town was solemn for the remainder of the season, with brief fits of joy (fuck you ASU). It wouldn't get better.
Lute Olson - the hall of fame architect of our program - would retire that year after a series of erratic and unsightly staff changes. Our program didn't find its footing again until 2012, with a draft class that included Kaleb Tarczewski.
That games always sticks out as the start of the decline. A time when we all expected to remain competitive and yet fell flat on our faces.
with you. He’s great, and “underachieving” in the tournament is really this:
edit: also, thanks for McKoy. Most UNC fans don’t realize what a contributor he’s going to be.
A Crime of Passionfruit combines the delicious flavors of passion fruit with the thrills of a murder mystery.
Just checked ESPN for that year's schedule. Looks like Arizona surged from unranked to #4 after just two games. That's gotta be a record.

And here is the list of teams that took part in an international/travel event this summer. Is that only the "Kentuckys of the world"?
tldr; money isn't a determining factor, everyone can benefit from sanctioned Fall Practice
I use https://pixlr.com/editor/. Its basically a free version of something between ms paint and illustrator/photoshop. Don't do this for money so I don't see the point in buying programs but I certainly would love to be shown the ropes by someone. I wouldn't even know where to begin
Penny Hardaway. There was not "adjustment period" that you often see with top recruits (including our own D Rose). He was just always awesome. This was also true in the NBA, too. 100% convinced we'd be talking about him as one of the 10 best of all time if not for his knee injuries. There's a reason Lebron talked about him as his basketball idol when he was coming up.
Hopefully that works. I believe they started off the show talking with Matthew Bain. The recruiting writer. He has proven to be really good. I think he has his ear to the ground for local kids and who ISU and Iowa are after. He didn’t seem super high on Iowa and ISU being in the leader positions for DJ though. And that proved true once he cut ISU this week.
I never knew that, how weird. I googled it and found this surprisingly long article/blogpost about it. Turns out all three spellings are correct, but two accents is most accurate to the original French, and no accents is most accurate for English. Especially weird because my vote would’ve been for the one accent over the last e.

There are some pretty good news articles and book experts on Google about Renko. Apparently one scout called him a "white Larry Johnson"
Although like Sports Illustrated's Sidd Finch, I sense most people knew it was a joke.
I haven't been to most of these placed, but can add part of what makes Assembly Hall an awesome venue. Obviously the state is basketball crazy and the place can be electric. But the building itself is intimidating. The seating is very steep, and has 2 balconies, and so the teams are surrounded by a bowl of screaming fans. I mean the sides seem to rise up like cliffs.
Otherwise, give some love to Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home of Butler. The place is truly legendary. Classic ESPN Article
ESPN loves to stare up its own ass. Like how for years they would claims scoops as their own without proper attribution. Now they'll acknowledge who broke it but always claim they confirmed it. Like that's the same thing.
I don't believe the committee consider BPI. Not unless ESPN has revealed the secret to BPI that we mortals aren't allowed to see. And even then are they really going to use a metric that accounts for how long Berman watches a team play before he loses interest and goes back to muttering about how Kornheiser made "you're with me, leather" famous?
No, they're not. I question how much they actually use advanced metrics no matter what they say. It's a bunch of athletic directors. Guys, and one woman, who've been around basketball all their lives. I'm sure the NCAA staff puts together team synopsis that includes advanced metrics, but they're not seriously going to use one where a team gets a boost because "Bill Walton told a great story about smoking hash in Amsterdam with Jerry Garcia during the '81 off season" while they were blowing out Stanford. But I question if the actual committee gives advanced metric more than a glance before talking about teams they way they've always talked about teams.
>Matt McCall won more games (29) than any first-year coach in the nation last season
Chris Beard would like to have a word with the author (with that said, Chattanooga's a good pick)
If not for the Ivy League's new postseason mini-tournament, I'd be really surprised to see Harvard make the tournament at all. Princeton should be the team to beat.
Also not sure about Valpo...unless Smits is awesome right out of the gate, they'll likely have a first year coach playing a different style than the team played under Drew (and with Fernandez)
It's probably using the UNCG audio stream. I don't know if the ESPN+ app lets you pick audio streams, but it might let you switch to NC State's. Or listen to it here, but it'll probably be out of sync: https://tunein.com/radio/North-Carolina-State-Basketball-s308269/
People with penises aren't the only people who can be misogynistic. Nice assumption there.
Do you really think that sexist people who don't think that women are legitimate sources of authority or that women are less human than men aren't less likely to misread or misunderstand what women have to say?
Protip: Get flair so you don't have to say what team you're a fan of in your comment. link
Chattanooga - Starting with the Dayton game (which they won) the Mocs played without Casey Jones, the ~~OVC~~ SoCon Preseason Player of the Year, for over half the season. At the time of his injury, Jones was leading the team in points, rebounds and assists. With him back after a medical redshirt, they could be even better this year.
Princeton - Mike Washington Jr. is the top (and only) player departing from a team that was neck & neck with last year's cinderella Yale until a late-season loss at Harvard. While they'll actually have to navigate a 4-team postseason tournament to get an autobid to the Big Dance (grumble) the Tigers look like a clearcut favorite in the Ivy League
UT Arlington - The Mavs beat Ohio State & Memphis, lost to Texas in Overtime, and were holding tight with Little Rock before losing Kevin Hervey's 18.1 points and 9.8 rebounds to a torn ACL. If Hervey can come back strong, UTA could flirt with 30 wins heading into the Big Dance this year.
Yeah, that shit actually used to happen before the advent of the shot clock. Dean Smith used the four corners offense to push the non-shotclock game to its limits of absurdity and necessitate the adoption of a shot clock to save the game. I wouldn’t want to suspend the shot clock, but I thought the article was an interesting read.
I hope that both Carolina and Duke get more interesting play, once the ACC regular season starts, than either has gotten in their last few out of conference games. If nothing else NC State is building a good program with their new coach. Maybe 2 or 3 years from now we’ll see a return of a real 3 team Tobacco Road rivalry. This, at about the same time that Syracuse and other powers join the league.
This was super gratifying, as I went to both Lafayette and Duke...
...and got rejected by Davidson way back when.
In the late-1980s Wichita State and Indiana State played 5 on 4 after a bench clearing brawl. Two Indy State players fouled out with less than a minutes left in the game. (http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=gzJUAAAAIBAJ&sjid=i40DAAAAIBAJ&pg=3616%2C9306801)
Exactly, I tend to use 247 instead of ESPN because of this. It's more accurate too, ESPN still doesn't have his commitment listed.
That's not far off from what this does, except it uses Kenpom rankings and compares teams using the log5 formula. Basically, it looks like this:
You can see the relevant source here, it's short and should be pretty readable.
edit: for your particular choice of teams, Kentucky gets an 90% win probability due to its excellent Pomeroy rating, which I think accords more with intuition than the 77% probability. (.9553 - .9553 * .7129) / (.9553 + .7129 - 2 * .9553 * .7129) = .895
Syracuse would beat Xavier (.9455 - .9455 * .8763) / (.9455 + .8763 - 2 * .9445 * .8763) = 70% of the time.

This says the average days aren't really that cold. Highs up close to or above 40 on most days, with lows rarely falling below 25. I'm sure the occasional day goes cold, but I didn't think northerners considered 25 to be cold.
If you slow down the gfy you can see that he got the wrist. I think it was a good call.
This is basically just a problem with how humans remember things. An undefeated team losing is a lot more memorable than a one loss team losing.
Looking up the numbers, 7 of 13 teams that were undefeated in the regular season went on to win the championship source. Without looking it up, there is no way in fuck that teams going into the postseason with one loss win the championship over half of the time.
edit: forgot to include the qualifier "with one loss"
Nice! That might be worth a new post, IMO (maybe right after Selection Sunday?).
I basically took KenPom's raw data sheet, deleted everything but the team name, AdjO and AdjD, and dumped it into R. Here's the script I ended up with, though someone who uses R more frequently than me could definitely improve on it:
mydata=read.csv("kpteamstop100.csv") plot(mydata$AdjOE,mydata$AdjDE,xlim=rev(range(mydata$AdjOE)),xlab="Offensive",ylab="Defensive",pch=".") text(mydata$AdjOE,mydata$AdjDE,labels=mydata$TeamName,cex=.75)
Most of the difference is actually from the difference between Saturday's data file and Sunday's. Here's the updated bracket on Google Docs--scribd rendered that awfully--unfortunately it's barely legible even zoomed all the way in but you can download it more easily.
Similar in play style. 3rd person open environment type of deal.
I will warn you though, if you like the game, be prepared to spend 100+ hours in it. It's massive with a ton to do. Amazon has the complete edition for $40. That comes with both Xpacs and all the DLC.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
They had the UTZ pub vittles for a bit which reminded me of the shadier places I used to watch hockey at. Fucking gone. I'm sad.

Time to imbibe it, UCF was playing better when my bowl was full.
Sadly can't find a good stream as of yet. Serious Sports, VIPbox and Wiziwig are all pretty low bit rate.
Anyone found a better one?
/edit/ am in the UK so geoblocked from CBS and the NCAA site.
/edit 2/ used Zenmate for Opera which is working well. It's not HD, but it's a big upgrade over the aforementioned streams.
I think I've got you! It's on apple as well.
I've wanted something like this for so long! (my favorite bar will always set me up with one of the big tvs no matter what, but if there's a home-ish team playing any sport at the same time I don't get the projector and volume.)
I can't believe it took someone else suggesting it for me to google it, lol! I'll try it out this evening!

To calm down the hostilities, I offer this as an olive branch.
Thank you, and upon all the arguments I've come across in this thread regarding this matter, I've discovered that there are several meanings that has become attached to the word "jealous", so I concede to those who debated. However, I still think that the fan who made the sign made the right choice using the word "jealous".
Also if you'll check out the definition of jealous in the Oxford Dictionary (much more reputable than Wikipedia) and look at definition # 1.2 it says "Fiercely protective or vigilant of one’s rights or possessions: Howard is still a little jealous of his authority they kept a jealous eye over their interests"
In this sense, when I read the girl's sign I read it as, "Kentucky is fiercely protective of their possession which is a undefeated record and/or the right to brag after coming out victorious in today's match up." The girl is saying, Kentucky should be "jealous" and should fear the Gators, because given the chance they will chomp away at Kentucky's perfect record.
Of course, Kentucky fans do not have to agree with this cute fan. For her sign is just an opinion.
Fuck Pete Thamel. Dude has it out for Cal.
ESPN has an article about same topic that talked about how both sides presented themselves
Kanter's dad was adamant they wouldn't take more than normal living travel expenses so this issue wouldn't happen. And provided Kentucky with evidence that supported that. Kanter never signed a contract with the Fenerbache to have a salary. And if you play professionally three years for a team, I don't see how $100k in expenses for all travel/food/expenses is out of the ordinary. They are basically saying if he had an extra $33k in benefit, only $67k was used for travel, food, normal team expenses for three seasons. I seriously doubt that's all they cost.
I'm not trying to get all tin foil hat like here but it was also believed the GM for Fenerbahce was mad Kanter wouldn't sign a professional deal and basically hand delivered the information to the NCAA before the NCAA ever came calling. He also passed along information to Thamel. Neither things had ever happened before.
I'm not saying Kanter didn't receive some fort of added benefit because I wasn't there. But it seemed at the time that the GM forced fake info to the NCAA after Thamel decided to fly to turkey and try and dig shit up because it was Calipari. Also, because Kanter had committed from Washington a year after Emmert left his AD position there to become president of the NCAA and there was some bitterness there.
Tin foil hat back off, $100k for three years worth of travel, food, gear is a small amount for a professional sports team.
I love how 4/5 of Penn's "games to watch" are against their Big 5 rivals -- teams they literally play every year. Is their schedule that soft? Edit: probably.
Incidentally, if St. Joe's is a game to watch for Princeton, shouldn't it be one for Penn, too?
It was just a (rephrased) quote from The Departed. One of those quotes that you would only know if you had seen the movie 89 times. TBH I'm surprised I got upvoted.

That does a good job explaining it. The WCAC is the most impressive collection of talent in one conference. DeMatha, Gonzaga, PVI, O’Connell, McNamara, etc.
The free ebook Pro Git is a pretty good resource for learning Git. It’s not the fastest way to learn the basics, but it will give you a deeper understanding of how it should be used and how its internals work which will make it much more intuitive. You may find it helpful to skim the final chapter on Git internals before going back and reading the rest of the book.
I’d recommend getting decent at Git asap. Good version control is super useful even when you just do it for personal programming.
The guy wrote a follow-up article that just came out yesterday. Haven't gotten to read it yet, but here is the article.
It should be noted that this guy is basically just a blogger.
EDIT: Read the article, it's basically just a list of instances of what he considers ugly play. Not really interesting.

Pretty easy to learn, can probably work for your problem.
This is a tangent, but I'm reading a book about the history of the Texas Rangers (the law organization, not the baseball team) and it talks a pretty fair amount about their raids against various Indian tribes when Americans were taking over their lands. It's called Cult of Glory: The Bold and Brutal History of the Texas Rangers, I'm learning a lot from it.
WebMD says 4-8 weeks after surgery, but IDK how that would go. Do they have a schedule for his surgery yet? They usually plan non-necessary surgeries like this a month in advance at the least, idk how much of an exception they'd make for him.
that stuff exists already. there's a website to create photos of people who dont exist (by mixing real people's facial features and stuff). bot accounts on Facebook, instagram, and other sites use that image generation to create spam accounts.

I just looked and supposedly Fox Sports as well as ESPN, ESPN 2, ACC Network can all be subscribed to through this I don't know much about sling tv but would def be worth looking into. It looks like you would be able to pick a package that would get you the major networks that cover college basketball. Might not be much help because unfortunately I understand what you're looking for but college basketball is too broken up.

You can turn any youtube clip into a gif pretty easily so I wont go into that part.
There are free online tools that allow you to add simple text to gifs like ezgif. If you want to add floating block letters/logos and make them follow a character around... I'm with you on that one. No clue.
When I was at Clemson we camped out for every P5 home game. Most of them several nights. Camped out 6 nights to stand on the court for this game against duke. Worth every second.
It was essentially first come first serve which then extended for like a week. You could also show up a few hours early, wait in a crazy line and then get some seats way up. Ahhh to be good again.
I switched cable providers to save $80 a month and The Journey is just about the only thing I miss from BTN. I can always hit up a bar for the occasional Tuesday or Thursday game. I can stream highlights from BTN's website. No one cares enough to set up a torrent for this show, though.
You can watch all of last season's episodes on Hulu. Apparently, tomorrow's episode heavily features the Orange Krush's trip to Minnesota on Thursday. So, I wish I could see that one.
honestly I wouldn’t draft Simmons before RJ Barrett....RJ Barrett scoring wise is on a whole other level and he can do what Ben Simmons do....trust this kid is special from Canada 🇨🇦 Slizzy Take
I doubt it I can’t c them loosing that many games RJ is too competitive as a basketball player in high school he has every award u can want and has won championships...he’s a winner from Canada 🇨🇦 I believe in that team Slizzy take
Haven't ever tried this, but kept this saved in case I ever needed it. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/easily-bypass-youtubes-regional-filter/
Edit: I know it's not YouTube, but the same rules should apply.

EDIT: Fixed Excel version
> Calhoun may or may not have cheated to get
Calhoun wasn't even accused of rules violations; he was penalized for "failing to foster an atmosphere of compliance" when his assistants talked to a guy he told them not to.
> Take a look at Kemba's twitter page sometime
You're thinking of the fake Kemba's twitter page? Because here's kemba's twitter page, and there's not a self-promotional tweet on there.
The only tweet even related to promotion is him saying how good Momo Jones is.
