I'm happy to tell you that I was born in a city that was, at the time, 40% black, although at certain points I was living in a neighborhood that was 90% black. The public schools were slightly more black than that because many white people with kids either left the city or used private schools. At that time, though, I didn't think there was anything unusual about blacks, because they were all that I knew. I thought all children were nasty, violent, and proudly ignorant. I thought all neighborhoods were used as public urinals. I thought all teenagers would try to steal a grocery cart from a mother with two young children if they could get away with it. I thought bullets coming in through windows was just part of life.

Actually read that paper, they discuss how you can find correlations saying anything but it does not mean you can draw causality from it. Until you can find that there is a gene that encodes for skin color and IQ or at least some linkage disequilibrium, I am not buying it.
I am not arguing that there is no genetic component of IQ. Of course, IQ is an additive trait meaning there are a myriad of genes that likely affect the phenotype. Even with twin studies, it does not mean that all of the effects are due to genes. Most of those studies do study the interaction between genes and the environment. You do not realize how complicated genetics really gets. It is not as simple as saying, "my parents are smart, and due to the high H^2 value, I will be smart." "Molesting boys" does not equal "gay." That's not how pedophiliac sexuality works.
A majority of pedophiles are "exclusive" pedophiles, meaning they are ONLY attracted to children. We have no idea what they otherwise would have been if they had developed normally, and there's not enough data to safely speculate. But they DIDN'T develop properly - they have brain dysfunction we don't understand yet (especially in the limbic system).
Of the non-exclusive ones who are also attracted to adults, most are heterosexual. This includes some who molest boys. The population of pedophiles who are attracted to adult women and boys (like this guy) has been observed since at least the 80s - it's been a while since I read it, but I recall there being mention of them in The Child-Lovers.
The fact that this population even exists suggests that for some unknown portion of pedophiles, the gender they choose to molest does not reflect a normal "sexual orientation" analogous to ours. It may be that some otherwise "heterosexual" boys with pedophiliac brain dysfunction become sexually fixated on same-gender peers in their youth, for example. (This would also help explain why pedos who prefer boys also generally prefer them to be around the cusp of puberty, as compared to pedos who prefer girls generally liking the 5-9 age range.) Or there may be an entirely different explanation; who knows.
But saying, "1/3 of pedophiles are gay" is reductive and doesn't actually describe the data we have.

In my opinion, for the average Joe with no knife fighting or combat arms training, it doesn't get better than this knife.
The natural, slashing motions you'll make in a time of panic are what this blade was designed for. Like I said, anything you catch with this knife will zip open like a duffel bag.
Look at that blade and think about what just the tip would do to a cheek, much less a neck.
It's not good for stabbing, but that shouldn't matter that much in an actual self defense situation and spyderco themselves tell you in an instruction sheet in the box that the knife should not be used for cutting anything else. No paper, no cardboard, no tape -- this shit is for ripping open flesh only. The tip is extremely thin.
If you want to be truly masterful, you'll take a Dremel and cut an opening into the thumb hole to create a hook that opens out towards the blade tip. This hook is called a "wave" and can be used to instantly open the knife as it is pulled from the pocket. You simply pull up and back against the corner of your pockey and the wave catches and opens the blade as you draw.
Spyderco implemented this feature on the smaller version, the Matriarch, but you can make your own on the Civilian with a Dremel like I said.
