I have the early version of this one and it’s insane. It’ll last the whole weekend and charge your phone about 5 times. I think you'll be very happy with Premier. The longest walk from Premier to the festival entrance is about a third of a mile. The best spots in Premier are only a few feet from the entrance. On average, probably a 5-minute walk. (Premier has its own festival entrance, next to the main stage. An added bonus of Premier is shorter entry lines.)
Here's an aerial photo of the Premier camping area. The festival entrance is at the bottom right corner of the picture. As you can see, the actual camping area is mostly clear and flat: http://tinypic.com/r/2s5yty0/8
Overall, Firefly is very woodsy. The festival area is surrounded by trees. There's also a thick stand of trees that runs through the middle of the property. (One of the coolest areas at Firefly is the pathway through the trees.) Check the "Experience" section of the Firefly website for maps and pictures.
Dust was a major issue in 2014, mostly because land was cleared to expand the main stage area. Unfortunately, the grass hadn't grown in yet, and it was a very dry month. I expect the dust situation to be improved this year. Here's a 2014 aerial view of the Main Stage -- you can see all the bare dirt: http://tinypic.com/r/sc87z5/8
Clouds I don't mind. I'd prefer cloudy skies to sunny. Rain won't be a problem as long as it isn't constant.
Going by Weather Underground's forecast, we're looking at light rain most of the weekend. Nothing above a 50% chance.
I have a two room one that's good to hold a "luggable loo" in one room and strong enough to hold a solar shower in the other, in fact it comes with one. https://www.amazon.com/2-Room-Non-Instant-5-Gallon-Removable-Rainfly/dp/B071V3XH1Z/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1518495693&sr=8-5&keywords=shower+tent if link doesn't work search amazon for the Ozark 2-room shower tent
Apologies for the disgusting amazon link.
I know this is also a Coleman, and you've had bad experiences, but this has served me well through ~10 years of cub scout/boy scout camping. Highly recommend it.
As far as what you're looking at, the Tritons are nice, but I've actually had better luck with the one I linked above, it seems to me with Coleman gear, as you go up in price, things tend to break more. I've never heard of Koblenz.

I just bought and received from amazon the following: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AU6AVLW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Perks: getting off the floor will help with heat trapping, underneath can be used as storage, comfortable mattress that comes with it.
Cons: it is kinda heavy, but it collapses down to a decent size. Think of the collapsed size of an EZ Up tent.
I haven't set it up yet, however. I am planning on doing that tonight to make sure everything is kosher.
Yes, all Wednesday Premier tent camping is in the northeast area (The Clearing). With the $169 option, you're guaranteed a good spot. Just remember, you must arrive by midnight on Wednesday, or you'll be placed in General camping instead.
Here's the aerial picture of the Wednesday Premier area. The festival entrance is at the bottom right. The distance from the farthest spot in Premier to that entrance is only about a third of a mile: http://tinypic.com/r/2s5yty0/8
Yeah. It really stays quiet at night. Everyone is dead ass by the time we get back to the tents. Ear plugs can work and check these out:
Sleep Headphones Bluetooth... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082KT6P1W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I use them on flights and will probably bring them along. Maybe you can run some white noise through them. Not sure if that helps but I hope so. See you in the woodlands!

We'll definitely either try to make a point to go camping or sell it at some point to recoup some of the loss. Definitely my fault for not reading and mathing.
This is what we use. We have a folding table so it makes sense and good for skillet cooking, rather than a ‘grill’ vibe which felt limiting. https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-2000020930-Camp-Propane-Grill/dp/B002M47P64/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=PP6CAD5D819G&keywords=coleman+grill+portable&qid=1662760688&sprefix=+oleman+grill%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-7
Yes no fires or open flames. If something were to catch fire in the campgrounds the entire lot would be up in flames in minutes. We bring a Coleman campstove linked here
I did a lot of research last year on alternatives to a big pop up canopy. 2 main options are possibilities. First, create your own canopy with poles, tarp, and rope. I ended up figuring this would actually be very difficult to engineer and expensive anyways, so decided against it. The other option is a beach shade tent. They are big enough to sit a couple chairs in. I almost went for that option so I do recommend it. Here are a couple option:
I've tried these at a bunch of shows this year and they work great. It's a weird feeling at first, and you get that "underwater" sound for a bit, but loud shows sound very clear.

Finally! Someone asking the important questions =p
Thoughts on [light up shoes](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0963GRGZY/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_image\_4?smid=A26D5KJB6YIM8R&psc=1)? They're not too pricey but from what I'm seeing maybe it's not worth it bc of dust/possible mud? Anyone else get light up shoes?
This is kind of the newer version of one I have from 2014 and mine always lasts the whole weekend. It's an absolute beast. I've never found one w this much capacity without spending a lot more. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XQ94ZL9/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o02\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

can't be said enough. I grabbed these for last year-

just let me know when youre ready to pull the trigger. We have camping order link here just put in the $70 we talked about. I will let the crew know. Closer to the event we will send out passes that we use to get to the property and instructions.
Let me know if there are questions! thanks.

It took 5 days to get in. I got 17 of these.
I should probably give you some constructive criticism.
First off, obviously we're going to need to change the font color or the guitar color because it's barely legible. Also I'd steer clear from making it one big gradient as it makes it look amatur-ish. If you need help finding a good color palate check out Color Lovers.
Second I would rethink the font choice. Having everything in uppercase and italics makes it a bit hard to read. You can probably get away with all caps but not caps and italics together, especially with a serif font. Check out Boston Calling and the font they used since they used all caps. You also need to add more space between the artists. A hyphen typically won't work because it looks like you're joining to words. Try a few spaces in between each band then some design element in between like a bullet or a pipe (|).
I like the design you created with the firefly and the guitar, but again, it's hard to see with the text overlayed on it. Might want to add leading to the text so we can see more of the background.
At the bottom it says 2014 for the year and 2016 up top. Also June 19-22 of 2016 would be Sunday to Wednesday.
If you have any questions let me know. I've been designing posters and logos for a while.
My boyfriend lost his brand new fanny pack sometime after girl in red. It had a new cart and new juul inside. It would be super dope if it was returned . Even just the pack because he was hella excited about it.
Be a good person please!
Don’t end up with tinnitus like me! These ear plugs will actually enhance your experience instead of deadening it.
Anker is the shit! They have one for maybe $70 that’s designed for a Nintendo Switch. You can charge your phone at a great rate. The pack itself lasts probably a few days with some nightly charges. I also have this Intex inflatable corner couch for chilling in. *The price usually dips to $80… it looks like it’s $114 currently: https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Inflatable-Corner-Sectional-Cupholders/dp/B079Z2QWYQ/
They probably won't let you in with that--it has 1 too many pockets. Must have 2 pockets (the big bladder pocket doesn't count). I recommend this brand/pack instead just to be safe--I used at ACL and Innings Fest in '19 with these same rules with no issue.
Idk if this would be allowed but if you gotta break the little piece off, maybe use something like these, if it’s worth it to you to not have to go to Will Call? Especially if you have to pay to replace as it is? I don’t recall someone seriously looking at the wristband since you scan in.
I do imagine it can fall off a lot easier with these, so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

We get 6 campsites in a row and pair two of these together. They’re so loud we normally only have them at half volume so we don’t piss anyone off.
No, there are clear vinyl bags that are becoming the standard for bringing stuff into festivals, sporting events, concerts, etc. Like this: Amazon Clear-Bag-Stadium-Approved (Literally search for clear bag stadium approved - they are usually the right dimensions, but double check before buying.)

I freaking hate them. The material sticks to your skin, the tote-bag style straps were uncomfortable, and everyone can see all your stuff (I get that's the point for security, but it makes pickpocketing a fuck ton easier, too). I had to buy one a few years ago for a rock fest, and I can't imagine how much more annoying that thing is going to be when I'm wearing less clothes, sweaty AF, in the hot sun all day, for multiple days. Don't get me wrong, I get it. But I also hate it.
They sell clear backpacks on amazon for like 13 dollars if the size is an issue, it’s for safety and quicker searching and a lot of festivals/other events are requiring bags to be clear nowadays

For about $65, I went with a battery powered (usb-charged) Shower head and a privacy tent on amazon. I figure ill place it near the road so i dont spill into other's camping areas. It's a nice setup and i'm hoping to use it for many future Firefly festivals.
I use a couple of these. The fan isn’t strong, but you’re not going to get much with battery power. This also provides light and is inexpensive so you can bring a few.

I picked this one up based on reviews, size, and pocket to carry a few small items in. Not sure if you are ok with the tactical look but I am happy. Always check warehouse deals first on amazon. Damaged package etc so they will sell at a discount.
Do you mind replying or dming with how you hid them? I’m bringing a hydration bag & I have these plastic liquid containers. Thought about just putting them on my person but curious to know if you cut up you backpack to hide them.
I heard the shower lines are horrible in the AM. I brought a 5 gallon solar shower for my brother and I to use when we went. I wore a bathing suit, hung it on the security fence, and had my brother shield me with a towel (just in case anything slipped out). It's also nice to use to rinse off your feet before bed! The one I got had a spout that you could push/pull to open and close it which was nice!
Friends and I put together a bunch of cats for our cat party themed totems. Some poles are pvc piping bought locally. Others a telescoping pole.
For that pole: It is very sturdy, light and extends to about 5 feet.

Good luck!
I used this last year on an aquafina bottle. it's not perfect and maybe even leaked a bit but i got a 1L aquafina in.

Probably solar powered, there are tons of solar powered battery lights out there.
Option: you can also get a solar camp shower, they cost from $15 to $30 for a good one (5 gal or more), heat up all day in the sun, and allow you to shower in your campground (in a bathing suit, and if you bring a way to elevate it. If you are shy you can also get/make a shower tent or screening.) It's reusable for any festival or camping situation.
Most capacity I’ve ever seen for the money. I have used this for 6 years

you are allowed to take unopened water bottles into the festival, get u some clear liqour and ur good. (im using bacardi rum)
I got this for $10 last year on sale. Only had to fill it up like twice for 4/5 people. Just hunt it on a corner of one of the EZ pop up canopies we had and it worked like a charm. After having it last year it definitely became essential for me. Being able to take a quick shower in your swimming trucks in the morning is amazing and it feels sooo much better being able to do a quick wash off at the camp site before trying to go to sleep after sweating and being grimey all day. Absolutely worth the 10/20 bucks!!
EDIT: All you do is leaving it in the sun and the water is plenty warm. The bag does a great job trapping heat so it will definitely stay warm 24/7
This is probably out of the price range you're looking for but I swear by this thing. 50 hour battery life and it puts out a lot noise. Definitely worth the investment down the line
I bought this one on Amazon for $21. Quality seems to be decent and for the price, I wouldn't be mad even if it only lasted for this festival.
You can also just get one of these. Its a solar shower bag.
I never used them myself but last year I went with friends who brought one, they said it worked pretty well in conjunction with dry shampoo.
While I wouldn't say firefly is specifically an LGBT friendly festival, its basically like all the others in the north east area. In my experience I've never seen any homophobia or transphobia at these festivals. Even times when I saw gay couples who were all over each other I never noticed anyone harassing them, even saw a rainbow/LGBT totem some group carried around last year. I think she should be okay standing in lines for the showers but a portable shower/shower bag would be a good way around running into potential assholes.
Buy one of these. Fill it up stick it on the roof of your car and you should be good to go. We bought two and filled them once and it was enough for 4 guys to make it through the festival washing every morning.
AMack's Ear Care Ultra Soft Foam Earplugs, 50 Pair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0051U7W32/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6xKazbJ33XAQN
I use these and they're perfect. They're good for concerts, but great for sleeping. I'm a very sensitive sleeper and noise bothers me greatly, and these make sleeping in almost any situation possible for me.
I have this one and it was so comfortable, with the ability to hold 2.5 L of water. As a lady, I didn't find carrying that much water was unfordable with this pack, and there is enough room for essentials like a jacket, charger, toilet paper, etc. Love this for hiking too - can pack a whole lunch for two and its not too bulky.
I have relied on these Hearos Earplugs for the past year and they are wonderful for dampening the volume but keeping the mid and high range detail.
You might have to buy a pair or three to find something that fits your ear/liking. Also buy some foam guys as backups, for sleeping and for the amigos.
I opted for lightweight and small last year. Check out this drawstring bag. It has 2 compartments inside and one zipper compartment outside. Currently serving as my gym bag. Plenty big enough for festivals but still small and comfortable.
As I've said several times, I am a mess from the knees down. Converse are too flat for me to wear for extended periods of time. For 2015 with the mud and what not, I wore shortie rain boots with arch support inserts. For 2016, I wore these sandals on the sunny days and the rain boots. I also wore plastic birkenstocks (crocs material) around the camp site.
I bought one of those and haven't looked back. Unless you get there first thing you're going to get stuck in a line in the hot hot sun. The water will be ice cold and the pressure will suck. Like turning on a garden hose a half turn. And after a day or two the stalls get downright nasty.
The advantage of the Helio (or similar) over the basic solar bags is that it is pressurized. With the bags you have to find a way to hang them. They are heavy and awkward.
This thing you just put on the ground and it has a sink sprayer. Pump it a few times to regain pressure. There are people who hack those garden sprayers for a similar effect for much cheaper, but they take up a lot more space in the car and not everyone is as handy.
I can't imagine not showering. Even when I was your age and festivals didn't have showers or even clean portolets, I would put a 2.5 gallon water jug with a spout on my tailgate and squat under it to bathe. That's a real cheap option actually if you have room for it, just don't let them leak.
Yes and no. There will be some ambient lighting from neighboring campsites but other than that it will be pretty dark. I would reccomend bringing along a headlamp/flashlight to navigate your way back to the site.
Lamps with a strobe/red light feature are also very helpful when trying to meet up with friends.
I would also look into some lights like these to hang around your canopy or tent. Adds a nice mood touch and also very practical when hanging around the site. Hope this helps.

This stuff is pretty cheap; if you have other junk to get off Amazon it'll cost you under 6 bucks atm. And since it's tablets, you can bring them into the festival (you can't bring pedialyte or gatorade in - that's just at your site - or buy the powders).
Hi I'm looking for a space to camp! I will help split the tent camping cost. My tent is fairly small and I won't need much space. Looking to find a group so I don't have to shell out the full cost of camping. I play ukulele and am excited for firefly! Will be getting there thursday. Does this mean something like this won't be allowed? Is butane a flammable liquid? Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I don't want to bring a huge grill for just my friend and I.
I got these for Coachella this year. Those plus gold bond extra strength and I had no issues with chafing.
I bought this last year after I had my phone stolen at Sweetlife. Ugly? Definitely. But it holds my phone and car keys, it's around my neck and tucked under my shirt and easy to see (I picked green). There are more attractive options, I just wanted something cheap.
Sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen. I ended up getting badly sunburnt at my campsite last year (even though we had a canopy for shade (I'm stupid)) and it severely effected my experience. Wear very comfortable shoes that you don't give a shit about. The past 3 years I've gone to Firefly and it's been a mix of insane mud or insane dust. There's also a Wawa a few minutes from the festival, if you can I highly suggest getting a sandwich either for lunch or whenever, it's cheaper than food inside the festival from what I remember. Another thing, if you're camping, an AC/DC converter that you can plug into your car (this is the one I got for last year http://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-Power-Inverter-Smartphones-Tablets/dp/B004MDXS0U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1456799948&sr=8-3&keywords=ac+dc+converter) so you don't have to go to a charging station or if a portable charger doesn't hold a charge for long enough.

No-rinse shampoo in the aerosol can.
Buy a solar shower like this and leave it on the roof of your car first thing in the morning. It will be quite hot by noon as long as it's sunny.
http://www.amazon.com/Flagpole-To-Go-Ultimate-Tailgaters/dp/B00JXSSI7W
I use this one and it works perfectly - the package includes the 20 ft flag pole (which holds 2 3x5 foot flags) and a base you put your car tire over and tighten a screw into the flagpole.
You may be able to find them cheaper separately on amazon, but I put the link to the package because convenience.
