As far as I can tell, the best for streaming and torrents (both, not the best for one or the other) seems to be NordVPN at the moment. I’ve read a fair few reviews/comparisons recently, and if you want to watch Netflix and use torrent sites, then nord seems about the best/safest of the bunch.

I wish I had the answer - to me this (Enough is enough) seems cool, and I'm interested to see where they are going to go, the Union reps backing it up makes me sort of optimstic it might have a chance to do something.

I'm jusy wary of activism that seems to directly disadvantage those who are in the most financial hardship already and to my eyes, the Don't Pay stuff could -although well intentioned- end up going quite wrong for everyone who gets cut off, or who gets put into unpayable debt. The bills are nonsensicial, i just think any activism here needs to be backed up by stable community support or another way of getting power.

I'm going to get some solar panels and move some of my energy consumption over to them, to me this seems like a very workable idea as it gives some stability whilst impacting your bills in even a small way. It's also climate friendly which is cool.

We got richer after the 70's because we found ways around the oil crisis due to the Iranian revolution. We made alliances with Saudi Arabia, found more fossil fuel reserves and found new ways of extraction such as fracking. We outsourced our labour to poorer countries where they were more easily exploited and we became the beneficiaries (though of course, many of our own lost out hugely). Thatcher sold social housing at rock bottom prices which has been a huge gift to that generation of buyers.

These might have felt good at the time but of course, they've come back to bite us. Really, we're in the earlier stages of privatisation and crushed unions. If you want to see where we're headed, look to the US. Look at how they do on homelessness, life expectancy, education etc.
