I believe it comes down to price. Kiwi.com ranks countries by average flight costs per kilometer. In the US, we're about halfway down the list at an average of $11.50.
That puts is two slots above China, which isn't exactly known for expensive prices. That's because in the US, a lot of people fly to and from work in coach. People generally want the cheapest flight possible, even if they end up with a bad experience.
By comparison, I've been told that flying in Japan is more of a luxury. When a good experience is more important than cost, you end up with more enjoyable flights.
Are you daft? Or why are you asking this in this subreddit? How is the unknown airline cabin bag allowance relevant to Prague?
This obviously depends on the airline, and if you can clearly see the baggage allowance when buying a flight ticket. Typically, the size limit is something like 55x35x20 cm and weight limit 7-8 kg. 50l bag will probably be too big - some airlines tolerate it, some make you check it & pay extra.
But honestly, if you need this much assistance to even get a simple flight ticket, don't bother coming. You will be scammed or ripped of within an hour.
I always use kiwi It’s especially good if you are extremely flexible and don’t mind jumping between airlines during your trip. Recently got a trip to the UK and back for three people for under $1500
https://www.kiwi.com/stories/aviation-price-index/usd/
This is the important question.
If OP is in the US, there is a 24 hour grace period. If they immediately hit cancel (or refund or whatever), they are owed the full price paid.
If they're not in the US, here is the refund info page for kiwi.com. It basically says that if nothing was actually booked yet, then they should receive a refund.
Assuming u/quandum_cunt actually canceled their reservation immediately, they should have been refunded the full amount. These things glitch out occasionally - call the site and talk to them about this to find out what happened.
Probably, though not based on cost per 100kms. On average, low cost carrier domestic flights in United Arab Emirates cost $181/100km, which would make a YOW-YFB flight cost $3630USD or $4537CAD. It actually costs about $1510.
i would look for the cheapest flight into europe and then hop a budget flight from there. kiwi.com is helpful for this. you can search from the BA or wherever using the radius search and it'll check all the options for europe.
Sub $800 flights in those date ranges from airports in that region:
Valencia, Torino, malaga, geneva, naples, nice, alicante, london, eindhoven, stockholm, barcenlona, cagliari, jerez, santander, milan... and about a dozen more cities. you have options that are much better than $1500.
if you buy it a month or so in advance and you're cool chilling in an airport for like 4 hours, you can get there for less than a grand easily. Wow Air and airlines like that. Here's one for $850 in July from Chicago. Only catch is you've gotta spend 2-4 hours in the Reykjavik airport each way
How about tips for before you even get to the airport?
If you're using a website like Google Flights to look at costs, clear your cookies constantly. Something to do with using that history to prevent you from getting a cheaper flight if the costs go down.
Kiwi also has an app, but you can find some really good deals for flights. My roommates used Kiwi and were able to get round trip tickets to Italy for ~$500. I'm looking to go to Oregon this summer and was initially looking at ~$700 for flights, but I found flights on Kiwi for ~$200-$350.
You can use kiwi.com just to find the cheap routes but not use kiwi to buy the tickets (don't buy your tickets through kiwi)
like this https://www.kiwi.com/en/search/results/united-states/paris-france just input some dates and see what it says
kiwi.com let's you search from a location with a radius around it, for a range of departure/return dates.
Be aware that flying to a sattelite airport involves extra time+costs to your actual destination.
Also I would recommend to book directly with the airline and not with Kiwi. Especially with all the recent COVID restrictions, you don't want to handle cancellations/adjustments through an intermediary
Still waiting for a good explanation for Expo 2017. Billions spent, almost zero promotion, pitiful attendance.
https://www.kiwi.com/stories/expo-2017-astana-disappointment/
When I'm feeling for a last minute booking travel I go to kiwi* and look for "Anywhere" out of my airport of preference + instead of set return date use trip length parameter.
So for example California to anywhere 14-16 jan for 2-4 nights here. Florida return under 200 euro, Honolulu 250, Cancun and CDMX 270, Toronto and NYC for 280, Oslo for 460, etc.
* — don't book through them if you can't be bothered to read the rules and agree to it, all flights they list are available through alternatives like Google Flights
There is no easy way that you would be able to get that flight refunded. You could try to plead your case to the airline but it most likely will not work.
I recommend in the future to purchase through Kiwi.com they provide insurance for those connections built into the price of booking with them.
Use Kiwi.com to search for flights, though it's usually a little bit cheaper to book it directly with the airline. https://www.kiwi.com/en/search/united-states/czechia/anytime/no-return?stopNumber=0
Kiwi.com strings together flight itineraries that you wouldn't otherwise be able to do because of the danger of missing one connection.

They have one from UIO to YUL on Dec. 13th for CAD $567. https://www.kiwi.com/u/t328s5. It seems to use Jetblue from UIO to FLL then Delta the rest of the way. They have a referral scheme which promises the referee €20 off.
www.kiwi.com/us/search/new-york-city-new-york-united-states/tunisia/anytime/anytime
$536 from where I'm at, per person. That, and I can get 80% off flights on TunisAir starting September 15th. There will apparently be flights from NYC to Tunis starting January 2019.
Be aware that the kiwi.com guarantee is full of loopholes and you need to properly read the full terms and conditions to be clear on what you are / aren't covered for.
https://www.kiwi.com/en/pages/content/legal (Article 4)
Some specific exemptions that catch people out:
Specifically in your case, if your booking is a "no checked luggage" booking and you miss your connection because of a need to check luggage, then Kiwi will not pay.
As for visas - worth checking with your embassy but I believe you do need a transit visa (even if you made your flight) and e-Visa isn't valid at Kochi.
The good news is that a transit visa is only $40.
Type your flight information for the LAX-BCN flight with Norweigian to see if you are eligible for a refund via EU Regulation 261/2004. I would recommend using that links service as well to obtain your refund if applicable.
Via Kiwi you will have to make sure the terms and conditions match up. If you flew all flights through Kiwi and Kiwi aligned them that way than you are eligible, but I doubt Kiwi put you on a Norweigian and Vueling on the same itinerary. If you bought them separately it falls under Article 5.4 limitations:
https://www.kiwi.com/us/pages/content/legal
> Limitation of Kiwi.com Guarantee – Flights and Flight Connection(s) issued as one airline e-ticket (PNR). Our Kiwi.com Guarantee described in Art. 4 hereof does not apply to single Flight and/or Flight Connection(s) identified by one airline e-ticket (PNR). Carriers servicing these Flights and Flight Connection(s) are completely responsible for all possible issues connected with them. In these cases please contact directly the Selected Carrier or airlines operating these Flights. Please note that in case You miss any Flight within Flight Connection(s) with one airline e-ticket (PNR) You may not be allowed to use any of the following Flight(s); You need to check the policy of each of the Selected Carrier(s) as We are not responsible for any inconveniences that You may incur in relation to this matter.
Look at this, maybe you will find a destination on your budget. Considering you're open to anything.
Depends on what site you're using. Some, you can choose among each way and, depending on which one you pick the price can go up and down. It's just a way of customizing. And then you get a total price at the end.
Cheapest I am getting at my favorite site is $730.
Are your dates flexible?
Florida has some very cheap direct flights out of MKE.
https://www.kiwi.com/us/search/milwaukee-wisconsin-united-states-16km Fort Meyers/Tampa for $50 per ticket round trip. Bags, even carry-ons are extra though.
That's helpful to know. Kiwi claims to insure you against flight delays and cancellations, it's probably easiest to see from the source https://www.kiwi.com/us/pages/guarantee . It's difficult to tell how good of a guarantee this is in practice considering what I've read
Yeah, but that's not saying much. Flights are obnoxiously cheap in general. I can take a round trip flight to Morocco from Duesseldorf for 26.- that doesn't mean I should expect trains to get me there cheaper.
Keep in mind that if you do this, it invalidates your Kiwi guarantee that protects you in case of flight delays/cancellations.
(This seems like a jerk move at first glance but kiwi actually factors layover time into their calcs so it kinda makes sense since you might not have enough time to collect bags and recheck...)
Despite this surprising news, contact kiwi and have them explain the situation.
If it was in fact their issue, their coverage entitles you to a rebook or full refund.
Kiwi is a good website for booking flights with multiple legs, and most of the time you can pay for them in one single transaction. You may want to wait a few months, hopefully travel restrictions will begin to ease next year to a stage where airline timetables can stabilise so they can give you better prices.
There are specialist travel agents for multi-leg routes that will book everything for you, including accommodation, but they will charge a premium on top of it. It may be a good idea if you want a pre-planned itinerary or a payment plan but will obviously be more expensive than doing everything yourself. Avoid Contiki, if they haven't gone bust yet.
I found links in your comment that were not hyperlinked:
I did the honors for you.
^delete ^| ^information ^| ^<3
If you’re looking to keep costs as low as possible, I’d recommend this site kiwi.com/nomad. You put in all your destinations and how long you’d like to spend at each and it shuffles them around to find the cheapest or fastest itinerary between them all. Although it doesn’t work as well if you’re checking bags.
You can do a round the world trip for a year on 45K no problem (I did this last year) but Nordic countries will end up being 5-10x the price of Southeast Asia so keep that in mind.
Flying in Australia is more expensive than in Canada. This is the Flight Price Index rankings. As you can see, Australia is the 12th most expensive on average whereas Canada is not far behind at 15. So your point is pretty moot.
First off
https://www.kiwi.com/stories/flight-price-index-2017/usd/
1) The US has some of the cheapest flights in the first world. It costs nearly 2x as much per mile to fly in Canada.
2) I’m all for limiting stock buy backs.
3) The average price of tickets has decreased in the past ten years. And it’s pretty disingenuous to discount the tiered pricing structure that allows people to fly and not pay for things that don’t need, like checking a bag. Ancillary fees were added to keep up with rising fuel costs, as weight = lift = drag = thrust
Congratulations! :-D
I have a great suggestion for your first question:
Last year we visited Sevilla, Alicante, Valencia and Barcelona. To schedule the optimal trip, I used Kiwi Nomad. With this app, you can add multiple destinations and it will calculate how many days you should stay where for the most convenient trip/price.
However, I do agree 7 nights for these 4 cities is very short. A couple of nights more would make a big difference.
https://www.kiwi.com/us/search/results/santa-fe-new-mexico-united-states/malta-malta
https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Santa-Fe-NM-USA/Malta
Scroll down to the arrow to the right of the plane flight, and you'll see a list of flights come up.

Are the flights booked as separate tickets? If so, did you book with an aggregator like Kiwi which offers a "guarantee" for self connecting flights which it finds? Or did you book the two legs at your own risk?
If you want someone to search the entire index and build really weird but cheap/fast itineraries, checkout search at kiwi.com (don't book through them if you're not reading their rules, all flights listed are available through alternatives).
So here 28.03-12.04 Chicago-Innsbruck-Chicago for as cheap as 533 euro (christ 90 hours in transit). Play with it, it should be even cheaper on other dates.
I use kiwi.com, pretty good aggregator of best deals
This is the best I could find, $750 but it is a lot of time sacrificed. Looks like there are options around $850 that are decent. Good luck!
Happy to help! I would recommend looking into NOMAD Search on Kiwi.com. Here is an itinerary for your trip on NOMAD totalling $1500
Unfortunately one-way flights are expensive and there is not a great way around it. Hope this helps and have an epic trip!
Here is a link through Kiwi
I would recommend flying from RDU instead of OAJ as it saves over $300.
Have fun in Greenland!
Yeah I booked threw Kiwi.com and they gave me two options. . . although i have not gotten a response from my choice yet. Here is a copy of the email they sent me --

Yeah kinda sucks, I booked some cheap flights on Kiwi.com and they used XL for my EWR-CDG flights and returning CDG-EWR on my path to Italy and from Berlin. I contacted them this morning and they responded, but nothing has changed yet.

I just learned about this tool from Kiwi.com called Nomad that helps you to book multi-city flights at the very best prices. I haven't used it yet but did a couple test searches and it seems pretty legit.
The first link that google gives me is https://www.kiwi.com/stories/flight-price-index-2017/usd/
It's for 2017 but I don't think things have changed much since then and I'm too lazy to google more.
So Taipei-Manila-Busuanga. Something I dont get is why on kiwi there is a baggage limit. Is this a smaller aircraft? I will come with just a carry on if it matters.
You have quite a while between flights so I don’t see anything that Kiwi did wrong in putting those two tickets together. I’ve bought plenty of one ways through them and never had an issue. Also, Kiwi has a guarantee clause that if you miss your connection that they put together, that they can get you on another flight or refund you:
Best I could do is like $550 to come back Monday.
Searched Paris and London as departure cities.
Sorry, I’m not aware of an actual destination that is ~2500 miles from London. I guessed at Cairo and got close.
Also check out kiwi.com, according to it you can get Calgary-London direct flight for 215€ one-way in October: https://www.kiwi.com/ca/search/calgary-international-calgary-alberta-canada/london-united-kingdom/2019-10-01_2019-10-31/no-return
The only FAQ section I found that speaks to this is throwaway ticketing, which only talks about (seldom enforced or provable) penalties for skiplagging on using a round-trip as a one way https://www.kiwi.com/en/helpcenter/article/booking-a-flight/can-i-use-just-one-part-of-a-roundtrip-ticket

If you don't mind traveling from Tampa Airport there is a bunch of dates that work for under $150 Roundtrip. Here is a list on Kiwi: https://www.kiwi.com/us/search/tampa-florida-united-states/dallas-texas-united-states/anytime/3-4?daysInWeek=45-0
Found a great deal to Phuket! $707 RT/http://skipl.ag/14pwh Also same deal to Bangkok! https://www.kiwi.com/u/rmc93m I would suggest buying soon. The price should be around the same for other dates too
Here are the best options I've found, Cheapest being $364 Roundtrip (although almost 75hrs total transit time). https://www.kiwi.com/u/yhpsvh or Best option: $565 (17hrs each way) https://www.kiwi.com/u/gnm7hs
no, it's their main selling point so it's included unless something better is already there (like airline protection under same PNR).
Just don't expect them to solve all problems. You are the one who will be solving problems at the airport, they will just repay some of your spendings later. And please do not be like those tripadviser folks booking 30 minutes layovers with waiting for luggage and border crossings - those are impossible and Kiwi should learn to not suggest it.
Kiwi says the cheapest way is 500 eur with 2 layovers in USA and Sweden for one way. ^dont book unrealistic layovers or too complicated routes with Kiwi they're not wizards and do only do so much
www.kiwi.com and do a 'Nomad' flight search - just select your starting date range and how long to stay in each place, and it will find you the cheapest. Unfortunately a max of 10 stops.
https://www.kiwi.com/us/search/ohio-united-states/europe/2019-05-01/no-return?sortAggregateBy=price
Could consider going via Iceland, otherwise Scotland appears to be the cheapest (depending which day you fly in May)
> Yet we easily pay 5x the price here in the States than what we can get abroad for much better service for cheaper.
What? 5x the price for what? Certainly not air travel.
US domestic flights per 100km are some of the cheapest in the world.
Cheap US airlines have managed to earn a reputation for poor service and amenities, but on the other hand, almost anyone in the US can now afford to fly, which is not the case in other countries.
For flights, my favourite is kiwi.com—you can set your departure point and pick "Anywhere" as your destination. Then see where it takes you.
For seasonal experiences, rove.me—you choose your preferred travel dates, and it shows you the best places to visit in a given time based on seasonal experiences in destinations.
Where you're flying from? I see flights starting from $439 from Boston for example. Should be even cheaper from NY.
Hey, I bumped into this post while searching my company on the subreddit (I work at Kiwi.com).
You seemed to have missed that even if there's a flight cancellation or a huge delay and you can't make your connection, you're covered by our Kiwi.com Guarantee thingie. So, in case this would happen, you could just call us from the airport and we'll buy you a replacement ticket at no cost to you.
Also, probably goes without saying at this point, but... yeah, we're legit :D
Have you tried flying out from Basel-Freiburg? You should get cheap flights to Barcelona from there.
EDIT: I just found a flight in July ( I suppose in summer) on kiwi for under 60 USD.

quick search from copenhagen during the 1st week of december and there are a shit ton of options for under $40. https://www.kiwi.com/us/search/copenhagen-copenhagen-denmark/--/2017-12-03_2017-12-09?sortAggregateBy=price
Sure, origin is EWR and destination is AGP
I was specifically looking at this flight
$80 - це третина від ціни квитка.
Kiwi allows pretty flexible searches, but its often not the cheapest website. You can also try online travelagencies that do the heavy lifting for you like Chimpando or Darjeelin
I forgot to mention, this search style on their mobile site does not work very well at all. I only use it on a computer. This should get you started... if it works.
Condor.com offers a search with flexible departure airports, with low fares that sometimes don't show up on Google Flights, etc. Start here: https://www.condor.com/tca/us/offers/longhaul?destination=SEA.
Again for cash fares, there's also kiwi.com, where you can search by country -- Italy > SEA on specific date, for example.
A flight ticket from USA to Sweden is only $190 USD. I advice anyone praising Scandinavian "democratic socialism" to just get up and move. Leave America to people who actually want to live there!
Besides Google Flights, the https://www.kiwi.com is good in finding connecting flights combinations too. However, from my experience, Kiwi charges a little more for their services, that's why after finding the combination there, it makes sense to book on other web-sites
https://www.kiwi.com/ shows discounted flights from your destination and also allows you to combine flights from other airlines on one itinerary. You can adjust the flights to fit your budget in the search settings and allows you to search multiple destinations
