Ok first off, sexual assault/harassment is a very severe offence here. Anyone caught would be seeing the inside of a cell for a very, very long time.
>what are the laws regarding something like this?
She's entitled to defend herself by whatever means necessary. But that doesn't mean she can commandeer the bus and run the bastard down until he's a gooey paste (which I would prefer).
>I've heard carrying a knife is OK, but no idea about using it to ward of an attacker.
They're definitely NOT ok. A pocket knife, folding knife, multi/utility tools are fine.
But an actual single blade would get you into trouble.
Anything can be a weapon, I carry with me a Schrade Tactical Pen. Which can be used to severely hurt someone or write a love letter to my wife. It saves me the trouble of having to check on luggage because of a knife. I just carry that pen everywhere.
My wife carries it with her when she travels alone and it came in handy a few times.

I have an obscure doodle blog here - https://www.pillowfort.social/umabbas - but please, there are some NSFW (nudes, not P) drawings, so click with care, especially during Ramadan.
Get ProtonVPN and connect to the UAE node, that'll let you through the dumbass IP blockade...I had the same issue myself.
Whoever approved of this blacklisting is a moron. They should either do it right or not at all /endrant
As a designer, there are a few things that bug me about it.
Firstly there is a little kink in the green waves between the S and the H that I can't stop noticing.
Secondly, what's up with the green waves and the globe? I mean, what do they have to do with Mishref?
Thirdly, I don't know what the file requirements for submitting a geofilter, tho I'd still consider working in vectors because right now it looks very pixelated.
My tip would be to find something unique about mishref and somehow incorporate that into your design, don't overwhelm it with styles and colors. There a lot of helpful resources online you could use to make a color palette and perhaps use some iconography.
I wish you all the best and hope you're not discouraged from creating more stuff.
download this app, it will bypass ooredoo dns servers

If you're willing to buy off amazon, I don't think customs will interrogate you for getting SodaStream. The downside is you've gotta buy the CO2 cylinder every now and then, but they do come in 60L cartridges so they will last a while.
Yeah man, Nord works for me quite well. On what device are you watching though? I'm using a laptop with a tv monitor connected to it. Check here for a bit more info
I can assure you that Incognito is not enough because it still comes from your IP and your Internet Provider sees everything you do. I remember smth like this happening in the UK and getting a VPN was recommended. I also highly suggested not only for privacy reasons, but for torrenting too. Check out NordVPN, Express or Vypr (not sure about torrenting though)

I was never into any mobile internet services and definitely never saw any good speeds with 4G LTE, but I bit the bullet and finally went with 5G a few weeks ago. At first I was very disappointed due to not being able to place the router in the usual places I've always had a router before, and because of a certain issue with uploads dropping my internet (I have a long thread posted if you want more information). However, after setting up a good location for the 5G router in the house, linking it up to a mesh system, and tweaking a few settings, My average speed shot up from 250-330 to 360-420 mbps dl, and 2-10 to 15-25 mbps upload and I'm not facing any issues anymore.
Most people get these LTE/5G subscriptions thinking they are magic boxes that leak internet and fail to do the proper work on their side. First, you can check this map for any 5G towers nearby belonging to our three carriers. I can see that only Viva/STC has a tower in your area but then again, you might find good speeds with other carriers too. A friend of mine using Zain lives far away from his nearest tower and gets 200-300 mbps download. Second, call them all up and see which ones have the exact location of your house covered. If they tell you you're covered, then you can't really go wrong with any. It will just depend on their individual offers. Once you get the router, you can then start experimenting with different areas inside your house where it gets the best signal and speeds, leave it there and never touch it. The best locations would be in the direction of the nearest tower to you and by a window but not at the window if you don't want the router to overheat in the day.
Hope this helps with your decision.
Yup you are right, I have seen this issue with zain where in once you hit max upload speeds it drops the internet for few seconds, even simply running a speedtest of upload will drop internet or at worst give high pings (If you have good signal) once max upload is being hit. You need to check how good the signals are at your place, try moving the router as high as possible.I think this is more of a technology limitation with what zain are using as there max upload i have ever seen is 80mb, wherein in ooredoo i have seen it reaching 200-300mb upload
I've bought a few dell poweredges from a small shop called WD World on ibn khaldoon st.. They're too expensive in my opinion and they don't give out warranties on used servers, but they can be better than buying new servers if you know what to look for.

No not at all, there is no violence here. I can only compare Kuwait to san diego, because these are the only places I lived in. First, Kuwait is much much safer considering the crime rate and violence acts. Kuwait is more modern in buildings and streets. Technology, I would say they're the same. San diego has better drivers. I mean we have the right laws for driving, great streets, but it is a bit more dangerous to drive in Kuwait. Kuwait dosn't have drunk drivers (they're really rare). You can get alcohol like you get marijuana in the U.S. (it is illegal here) Kuwait has a lot of soccer fields for rents, so most of Kuwaities lifestyle is playing soccer, going to malls (they do that a lot), going to the movies and exhibitions. I find Kuwait's restaurants are much cleaner than the ones in America. We have great beaches, but I would say beaches of san diego are better.
The whether is great nowadays, but not in summer. In the summer it goes up to 120 F. So San diego has better whether. If I missed some important points that you would like to know, just let me know.
As I mentioned before there is no violence in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates. It is only in Iraq and we have nothing to do with it. I don't know why the media are creating bad images about Middle East.
The problem with these ancestry genetic reports is it’s made for Americans to trace their heritage backwards through genetic. Samples of populations.

For us in Kuwait or within the region who haven’t immigrated it shows where our “family members” left too. Since most of us can track our oral history.
What you mean by "Safety"? Kuwait, and the rest of arabian gulf countries are one of the most "safest" countries in the world in a crime rate point of view if that's what you mean.
This might be a good read, though it's more focused on UAE rather than Kuwait, but pretty much applies to any country in the GCC: http://hubpages.com/hub/Gulf_States_Working
> How?
Everyone around me was doing it, I assumed it was natural. Like bees following the queen to mate.
>Do you take notes on their behavior as well?
Not physical notes, but its s sight to see how groups cluster together like wild animals in the savanna. In David Attenborough's voice, "you see the male shoot concerning glances at the female while he peacocks around the room." (peacock as a verb)

It annoys the hell out of me when people trap you in on the ground floor. you guys are going up, at least let me out of this box first.
But I was referring to when your half way through on the elevator and it opens up to a group of women who decided to take the next one because the fact you have a penis offends them. WOMAN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SHARE AN ELEVATOR TAKING THE GOD DAMN STAIRS.

I got a solution for you that is stress free, invest in it.
amazon delivers to kuwait and the selection is much better. I would recommend these and depending on budget theres a 99$ option and there are more expensive ones as well. Personally I've had these for years and they're excellent. No premium for marketing BS or the kuwait tax of flipping the dollar sign to KWD.
> publishes garbage
Your personal bias is still showing. You're just one random person on the person who dislikes his writing and personally attacks him, calling what he writes garbage without actually providing any single argument as to why that is true. Here's the Amazon listing for The God Delusion with a 4 1/2 star rating from 3,300+ random internet people. https://www.amazon.com/God-Delusion-Richard-Dawkins/dp/0618918248
Are you ready to state why his arguments are bad or why he is garbage, or are you just going to continue to use the defense of "he writes about biology, therefore he can't write about philosophy and everything he writes is wrong", like a child?
You only answered half the question. Strawman. Tell me which books from those atheist philosophers that you listed have you read? Just curious, have you even read The God Delusion or have you been indoctrinated to hate Dawkins from secondary sources alone?
This isn't even fun. I wish you would try to bring up quran or hadith sources are try to prove your points rather than bashing a single author. I would love to showcase how contradictory/evil/sexist the quran is. If only you'd try that. And yes, I've read the quran and various hadith and still have half the quran memorized from my childhood. I actually read the shit I'm talking about, unlike you who hasn't read The God Delusion and has been indoctrinated to hate Dawkins and other atheists. Let me guess, you also hate Sam Harris, but haven't read any books by him, right?
amazon has the 1080 p one for around 380 KD including shipping
Well, lucky you.
The book I ordered was a variant of this textbook, and shopnshop did charge me 30 KWD to forward it to Kuwait. Make of that what you will.
The City Bus app allows real time-tracking for most of the city buses. However keep in mind it does encounter server related issues.
You also get the routes of individual buses and the fare to most of the places.
LULU has 4K TV for 175KD. If you're on android, download the app called Kuwait Offers
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.itmobix.kwendeals&hl=en
You could try this.
The site uses Wordpress which has good support for RSS. This is the link for 248am's RSS feed. 248am.com/feed/. Now just find yourself an android RSS reader like this one, plug in that link in the app and you're good to go.
Couple quick things.
Power in Kuwait is 220V/50hz. U.S. Power is 120V/60hz.
Most all computers and electronics are rated for 120/240v 50/60hz, so all you need is a physical adapter. Just look on the power supply brick on the cord, and you should see the 120/240v annotated.
But just to be safe, buy this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N1KWMQT
It will not only serve as the physical plug adapter, it will also step-down the 240V to 120v and will run most small appliances.
I always carry one of these in in my pack everywhere I go in the world.
Tell him to enjoy himself, it sounds like he's heading to Kuwait at the right time of year.

Use a VPN , and its better to use a paid subscription try to find the cheapest one because Omegle doesn't need a super fast download and upload speeds . if you want the best vpn its ExpressVPN ( in my opinion ) .
This is a Kindle app ebook for Kuwaiti arabic. Its cheap
This will help u alot. The money is worth it.
There is an entire complex on bin Khaldon st. that's dedicated to selling used PCs/parts. It's located across Qairawan complex and prominently features "WD World" (signage for one of the stores inside).
Be forewarned that their prices aren't reasonable in my experience. Most of their stuff is sold as-is.
I can't say for certain, but you might find some in Dasman Complex (مجمع دسمان). If you don't find some there, the shops will likely be able to refer you to somewhere that does.
As an Iranian, I envy countries like yours. You don't see stuff like this in Iran. Kuwaitis and Arabs of other countries like Saud'iyyah, Qatar, etc. can afford these things because their government cares about its citizens and makes sure they enjoy a high quality of life. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Gulf, this is the shit we have to drive because our government sends all of our oil money to Syria. 😒
no idea regarding long term obligations, regarding the second question, Considering ur just staying in for 2 months i would probably just take which every 5G i can get my hands on. unless u want to really have exceptional service then you can check out this https://www.speedtest.net/ookla-5g-map
no idea if its updated or not but it shows the towers of 5G across kuwait.
Check again. It's 999$ for S10+ and 899$ for S10

There is one way to get around this, if KEMS can handle the stream and if you can get a router from Zain VIVA etc that is if they give stable ping in your area. Then there is a program that you can use to force a particular application to go through a specific connection.
I dont know if it will work but I'll just put it here you can try it out if you want see if it makes a difference or even works for that matter.
Why Zain?
https://www.nperf.com/en/map/KW/285787.Kuwait-City/-/signal/
I checked out this very useful Map to compare Zain/STC/Oreedo for where I Live and Oreedo is the only one that has a strong 5G signal for my area.
And In General, It seems that Oreedo has alot more 5G Coverage around Kuwait than Zain or STC but there are some exceptions for specific areas.
you can propably sell it as a heater for winter or as a door stopper
At the time of independence, the countries Bahrain, UAE, and Qatar had very small citizen populations just like Kuwait. Yet, it is well-established that Bahrain, Qatar, and UAE never gave citizenships to hundreds of thousands of people. How come Bahrain, UAE, and Qatar were allowed to be considered independent countries even though they had lower number of citizens than Kuwait?
Therefore, it is safe to conclude that Kuwait didn't grant citizenships to hundreds of thousands of people for the sake of being considered an independent country.
Kuwait's citizen population growth rate is not only abnormal, it's also very unusual and peculiar for the whole region.
Globally, the normal population growth rate is 10% every 10 years. In the Middle East, it is around 40-60% every 10 years. In Kuwait, between 1965 to 2010 the citizen population growth rate every 10 years increased by over 350%.
Yes. And I can't speak for all the companies.
But mine from Ooredoo and it's mind-blowing fast. Literally almost 1Gbps.
With eToro you do own the underlying asset (it is under your name and you need to sign the W-Ben), and you get all the capital gains and dividends. The only thing you can't do with it is that you are not able to make proxy votes. https://www.etoro.com/customer-service/help/1281273772/what-do-i-purchase-when-i-buy-stocks-on-etoro/

If you want to make votes, there is still another platform for that which I use and recommend which is IBKR (interactivebrokers), with IBKR you also have insurance, the problem with KEMIFIC is that you do not have any insurance and that's a pretty big issue because Kuwait's rules and regulations are not even to the standards, they are no where near US rules and regulations. Kuwait's stock market and brokerage laws are considered very weak and that's worrying, it is safe but still it is a concern that should be in everyone's mind especially when compared to US brokers. They also have access to global markets (not just US markets).

IBKR = ((Client securities accounts at Interactive Brokers LLC are protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation ("SIPC") for a maximum coverage of $500,000 (with a cash sublimit of $250,000) and under Interactive Brokers LLC's excess SIPC policy with certain underwriters at Lloyd's of London for up to an additional $30 million (with a cash sublimit of $900,000) subject to an aggregate limit of $150 million.))

And their commission is way lower than any broker in Kuwait, they are safer, more professional, more features, more markets, cheaper, etc. So I see no reason for me to step away from IBKR and use a Kuwaiti broker (I clarified my post for any reader to benefit from it, not just to OP!)
Check out walaa complex, you will find a couple of shops that will help you on the second floor. If you cant find them ask any shop in the complex they'll point you in the right direction. I used to deal with a couple of shops there ~2 years ago.
It is, but more of a bullshit catchphrase for the media and people (like you) to eat up.
Don't get me wrong, mate, I understand your frustration. Just calling out the BS like دولة العطاء والانسانية.
I'll refer you this quote from Uncyclopedia on Kuwait (a highly reputable source):
>Kuwaitis are said to boast the highest annual average personal income in the world. This is partly due to large oil revenues being 'equally' divided amongst citizens. This division of wealth is achieved using an extremely complex series of calculations known as the "One for you, ten for me" method.
Besides u/umabbas method, there is a free and easier way in which you change your DNS manually, try this method https://unlocator.com/setup/ ( replace 39 with 185 if it didn’t work ) however, the unlocator can suddenly stop working and you’ll have to find a new one or wait until it gets fixed
If you have interest in doing web or app development there are a ton of inexpensive or free resources out there. This is the page i used to learn, Its fairly inexpensive. I like them because you can pick a path and they walk you through assuming you know nothing. There are also countless tutorials on youtube. best of luck i hope this was helpful.
Side question, can you recommend a good VPN for privacy and US based streaming services. ExpressVPN is great with the streaming services, but they are basically a UAE/Israel spy operation, so I would like to find something better.
I'm not talking about now only, I'm talking about the past 10 years+ (including now).
If you order directly from Amazon to your home address, they will deliver it directly from US to Kuwait. Amazon takes care of everything. One payment & one route nothing else. Faster and cheaper.
If you order from Amazon to your Aramex address, then you will have to pay Amazon to deliver it to your Aramex address, and then you will have to pay again for Aramex to deliver it from their address to your address. TWO payments & two routes. Slower and more expensive.
Aramex needs to sort your shipment in the address you send it to and then re-send it back again to Kuwait. All that means more employees working and sorting stuff for you, which result in more payment & more delay. In the other hand, when its sorted once in Amazon warehouse and sent directly from there to Kuwait, it only needs to be sorted once and sent once directly to you, less employees working for you means less fees.
A small example, ordering this https://www.amazon.com/Psychology-Selling-Increase-Thought-Possible/dp/0785288066/
Amazon to your home address = $29.95 (item + Amazon shipping + customs)
Amazon to Shop & Ship to your home address = $38.05 (item + Amazon shipping + Aramex shipping + customs)
Dude, this is what you need right here.
You can spend years learning "classical" piano and knock out some Debussey or whatever, or you can spend a few months learning to play the blues, jazz, or making up your own awesome songs once you learn the basics of what they call "fake music".
So buy that book or another one like it, then buy a book of "fake music" songs, and you'll be jamming out in no time at all.
Like someone else said below, I'm sure there's some Youtube videos on how to play fake music.
It seriously works. I took piano lessons for a month or two when I was a kid, so I was somewhat familiar with most of the notes but that was the extent of my advantage.
After like 2 weeks, I could sit down and play "Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans" flawlessly, and even improvise a little bit on it. It was (and is!) so much fun!
I know this sounds crazy and like a lot of work, but before you go buy another pair of running shoes and run in them, you should read a book called "Born to Run" by Christopher Mcdougle. It's available hereon Amazon for the Kindle.
To very briefly summarize the relevant part of it to OP's post, a couple generations of doctors and orthopedic surgeons ago in the 1970's, a start-up company called Nike created a marketing campaign all geared around the idea that our feet are wrong, and that Nike had the answers and would solve all the problems. They created the ideas that you need all this extra support everywhere because Nature doesn't know how to build a foot. Nevermind that we've been running since your great-great-great-great....grandma fell out of a tree and got chased by a lion.
As a result of everyone thinking that they needed all these fancy shoes, it gave rise to a startling increase in the number of orthapedic surgeons performing countless operations on knees, hips, feet, etc, all caused by messing up the way your body was designed to run.
Then the author gets into a really crazy tribe of Native Americans living in these canyons in Mexico who run 50-100 mile races routinely just for fun, and they do it wearing little sandals they cut out of tires, and they beat the hell out of everyone else they race against.
I got 2TB WD SN850 from Amazon and bought a seperate heatsink for my PS5 it gave me read speed around ~6300 MB/s and I moved all the games to it
I got it from Amazon.com

Super comfy and you probably can find them for cheaper elsewhere.
Not the ideal solution here: if you can't find any try looking for the headset top cushion replacement. Not as big but you can use two together. In case they aren't sticky use a double face tape

If it's not available in your region, you'll have to get a VPN subscription from a provider that clearly states their service works with Netflix.
Netflix declared a war against VPNs and have been blocking any connection made through VPN. However, some VPN service providers are fighting back for the freedom by changing the IP addresses of their servers once they get blocked, leading to a stable accessibility to Netflix streaming via VPN.
VPNs that I know that are working well for this purpose are NordVPN and ExpressVPN.
Once you get it, you can connect to a country in which a show is available. You can use this website to find out which shows are available where:
Not sure if this will be helpful but you can get a silicone cover for your keyboard with Arabic letters. It'll be easier to clean as well.
Something like this:
You can get them from from kids game shops like fantasy kids in South sharq they have some interesting peices other than that you can check out Amazon prime just pay a little more you can find better ones there and also fast shipping.

This one? It seems 160 KD is abit expensive
This seems like a better amazon link.
Just look for 2-3 items that you need, and order them together. That way shipping price is more manageable.
Stuff like this is hard to find locally, and most of the time even with the shipping fees it'll come out cheaper than Kuwait.
I got the knockoff version of a Dyson from Amazon for less than $175 US. Works great but burns through the battery fast. I'd recommend a spare.

I order all my iTunes cards from there.
If its not free, it'd cost a peanut or two since its a government hospital.

That being said, don't expect high quality care because, well, not many professionals there are good. Some are, some aren't.
I'd also suggest maybe you'd like to try this app out. I'm not exactly sure if it'll work or how much it costs, but I think it beats going to a therapist here in Kuwait if you don't absolutely need to be in the same physical domain with one.

Mental health is no joke and we unfortunately lack the appropriate attention to it. Good luck, buddy.
Once we reach the hospital do we have to confirm the permit using curfrew permit app ? Has anyone tried it.
Also the app comments it shows the people have some errors or its not working
Curfew permits!

Make it your default SMS app, long press on sender name you want to block until block icon appears 🚫, click that icon and block sender. That's it.
On iPhone, I haven't tested it but people say this works:
But be careful with iPhone method, maybe multiple companies will be using same sender number and you might actually block something useful (like verification or delivery notification).
get these fan's if you could
5G ones are very expensive though.
I use Zain's 4G without any major problems in Egaila, I'd assume there is a lot of traffic in your area, if that is the case then the only solution I can think of is to get an outdoor antenna like this one - https://www.amazon.com/REMO-BAS-2301WiFi-Outdoor-Wireless-Connector/dp/B01LZ7B46A/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2247YNRO3CEML&dchild=1&keywords=router+outdoor&qid=1599086608&sprefix=router+out%2Caps%2C400&sr=8-8
But it may not solve your issue. you should try other telecommunication company's services in your location to see if they too have the same issue.
Personally i would get it from either these sites

Personally I’d be very prone to the dyson because it’s so cool. But if your primary need is air quality monitoring then perhaps the linked devices might be cooler.
I think I’ll get myself an atom tube.
Actually no real issues! Its been working pretty well for me and I've already rewatched seasons 1-7 this way. I have a paid subscription to CyberGhost, but as I mentioned in another thread, I haven't had any luck using it with Amazon Prime. Everything else is fine though. I pretty much leave it on all the time and can't really notice a difference with it on or off, but I would say my internet usage is pretty basic websurfing and video streaming.
hello, i have been using for almost 7 years with Netflix and Hulu. i have been tried many VPN's and Smart DNS's they are slow for streaming but not StrongVPN, it's really fast and good price. also i use StrongVPN for gaming online to get the latency down for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
I ended up going with CactusVPN, they are having a sale now with $1 / month and $4.99 afterwards.. its actually quite nice as i have a desktop client now that i can activate sort of like a vpn which will save me from having to redo the ip changes every now and then.
Thanks for the feedback.
I got this one. It is very easy to use; simply press the power button near the LED indicator lights and the entire box is ready to go for whatever you throw at it. I've used it all weekend at baseball tournaments with power to spare .
How about this suaoki jump starter? Well, I bought this for my boat incase my battery ever dies out on the water.
That's interesting. So for example, I can ship this item straight to my house from Amazon with no additional costs?
Start off with Codecademy. It gives a basic overview on various languages used in Web Development, Web Design, Site Building, Basic Console Applications and a few languages used for various things. It's free and gives a very basic standpoint on Programming. It should take you 2-3 months to finish all the courses and by that time, you should be ready to start your own small projects.
Next, you should look onto buying books. It really depends what you want to get into. For making websites, you should learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript since they give most functionality and are very easy to remember (all of which are curses on codecademy). If you want a challenge, you should consider Computer applications that use C, C++ or C#. However, That is not recommended for a person with no experience. iOS development is a great way to pick up new skills. Should you want that, you're limited to using an Apple computer, Apple-dev software and development licenses (which can all be costly).
Use the list below for sources on the stuff I mentioned:
*Codecademy [https://www.codecademy.com/learn/all]
*Learning Web Development with this great book [https://www.amazon.com/Web-Design-HTML-JavaScript-jQuery/dp/1118907442/ref=zg_bs_3600_3]
Lastly, I'm uncertain you can pull off a great software with only online courses and reading a few books. Programming is a very complex process, that requires money, energy, and a whole lot of time. But if you stay consistent and practice every single day, I'm confident you can do this.
Contact me privately for any questions. Good Luck!
Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I bought an Aerobie Aeropress coffee maker and Hario ceramic grinder this weekend.
Will be shopping for some nice beans this week to start my brewing experience.
I have never heard of any place that does that so your best bet would probably be this

Best resource IMO. I've tried their French course and it is fantastic.

Also, check out lingq.com . Here is the founder of lingq talking about learning russian
Where have you checked? I used to use American Crew fiber and I switched to Spiking Wax by a brand called Göt2B Glued. It works similarly to fiber and I actually prefer it over fiber now. They have it in Sultan Center and LuLu and it's far less expensive than any American Crew product. If they run out of the wax I just use the Spiking Glue.
