Ideapads generally have decent but not great batteries (I have an IdeaPad 330s and it gets max 2 hours on general use) but the specs are very good. I recommend the IdeaPad Flex 5 with all those specs but with a 360 degree flip, included stylus on Ryzen 5 4500U models. It had 256 gb NVMe but storage is upgradable. Here is the prime one in my opinion: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086226DDB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MY2NS9XFYCQ1BG8EPNT8 . Its for 630 bucks and i think it would work well for you.
And now you can pretty much ignore the fact that the Metro UI exists. I think you have to go there if you want to change some settings, but that'll be maybe once in a while, if at all.
well I bought model 80X7001VUS ,which i believe is just the 16gb/512 version of this one.Bought this active capacity pen from amazon and it works great https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-GX80K32882-Active-Capacity-Pen/dp/B01AZC3HF2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094917&sr=8-1&keywords=lenovo+active+pen+2
ive done many reinstalls before with my legion y740,
the Lenovo media creation tool is actually not bad if you don't want to make sure your missing any drivers. it does give you can whole fresh system but with the included bloat ware, though Lenovo has barely any. Windows 11 comes with more lol
both tools work the same, and that's making a usb to boot. My only suggestion is to make sure you backup the data you want to keep (assuming your planning on deleting everything)
i would say start with installing windows, then drivers, then go to ninite.com, get all the programs you need. after that all the game stuff, which included:
- NVidia GeForce experience
- steam, uplay, epic games, xbox app, origins (if you have games on them)
as for Lenovo vantage, personally its a useless program, i lost fan controls a year after purchase. however if you have use for it, make sure you download the vantage game ready drivers, you can get the at Lenovo support.
msi afterburner, i couldn't use it, any changes killed my gpu.
the main setting for any max performance would be in the NVidia control panel, then in game. obviously the fan as well.

finally, just go with your gut, there should be graphic drivers on reinstall, so things can be realistically be done in any order.
Install Windows 8.1 Retail with a generic key. Microsoft has now released LEGAL generic keys used for the sole purpose of installing Windows 8.1 as an INACTIVATED copy.
Generic keys can be found by simply googling:
windows 8.1 [version] [32 or 64 bit] generic key
Finally, once the Windows installation finishes, open up an elevated command prompt. To do this right click on the Windows button and click Command Prompt (Admin).
In the window type: slmgr /upk
This will uninstall the product key (which is generic and inactivated anyway).
Once this is done, use a program like RW Everything to extract the key that is embedded in the bios of your OEM machine. Once you open it, click on the ACPI button then click the MSDM tab. Your key will appear at the end of the data window as the value for the key "Data".
Open an elevated command prompt again and type: slui 3
This will open up a GUI request for your product key. Paste the key from RW Everything.
That's it, you're all done.
You will notice you are fully activated and all of your Windows updates will work.

I have no idea (yet) on Linux but on Windows the easiest way to achieve anything key-related is AHK (AutoHotKey).
Takes a little bit of a learning curve but then it's awesome.
My windows update prompted me to update it, so unfortunately I don't have a link. I'll see if I can find out more tomorrow
Edit: So all I found was the driver version name, which is Elan Touchpad 11.4.69.4_X64_WHQL. After a bit of searching, I couldn't find anything more about it other than that... Ill see if I can get the driver files off my machine and into a download, but no guarantees that it will work for you
Edit 2: I put all the Elantech driver files I found in C:\Program Files\ in this download: http://www.filedropper.com/elantech. I trust you can figure out how to manually update your driver. This said, there were a few files in system32\drivers that are tied to the driver that I did not include, mostly because I'm not sure you need to.. I hope. Best of luck.
i) if you are concerned about replicating your hdd then clone your hdd to the ssd using cloning software (you would still be left with same win7 and may need to upgrade to win10 later).
ii) if you want to go with a new and fresh installation of windows 10 then start the process by booting the os from the pendrive via the Boot Menu.
As i dont find your pendrive listed in the boot options menu, i dont think it was set to be bootable mode. You could use a tool like Rufus to create a bootable pendrive using the iso file you have. The pendrive may then be listed for you to proceed with..
I typed it up, but deleted it because this shows it better

thanks! I got something working as explained here: http://superuser.com/questions/796833/how-to-make-a-bootable-usb-disk-for-installing-windows-7 - now, I need to figure out how to make a dual boot with ubuntu.
Your Vantage is a different version than mine and might not even have the ability; if you don't see the info button assume it doesn't have it.
A program like HWiNFO should tell you the version.
lucky you i just did it today.
Here's what you need : 1) Software to clone your old drive into the new one : https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree
It's free for home usage.
Also you need an adapter to plug your new hard drive on your laptop via USB port, on amazon about 20 USB you type : Nvme pcie USB adapter youll get a bunch, cant give you the link cause i bought it on amazon France and i doubt the same one is available wherever you live.
It's pretty easy to do but you still need to have some skills / knowledge, if you have somes i can guide you when the time is right if you ask me, it took me about 20minutes to clone my drive, after that it's plug and play.
Dont really wanna recommend you something if you dont feel confident doint it though.
is it possible since I plugged in the new screen while the battery was still in, and then stupidly retried the original while still not removing the battery? It seems the part no. for the panel is 5D10P96009. This was the replacement I bought: https://www.amazon.ca/SCREENARAMA-Replacement-Ideapad-530S-14IKB-1920x1080/dp/B07VLJXNKS. I can PM you more info tomorrow if it'll help. Thanks in advance for taking your time
I just ordered a Legion 5, and saw there is a silicone keyboard skin available. I have same type of skins protecting my T440Ps. At $6 it's a no-brainer for me.

I bought a cooling pad for my Lenovo Ideadpad Gaming a while back. It keeps it pretty cool especially when I game on it I highly recommend it Hope this helps!
With a USB OTG cable like this, you can use any old (usb A) usb device.
I have my audio interface plugged into mine.
Ouch. You might want to get one of those under laptop coolers or rig your own ASAP. At least for now, until you get it fixed. Cheap Cooling pad (5 Fan amazon)
edit: also maybe try to get someone who knows a lot about software, IDK though. Sorry, wish i could help.
Ordered this Legion 5 on Tuesday night, got it today (Friday).
Edit: Same model as referred to below by u/act-of-reason

Yeah honestly! I got this guy off of Amazon because it was prime shipping and was the ONLY battery with a review

Zero issues since. After verifying it was a complete fix, I also reinstalled Windows 11 to see if it would run without any of the Lenovo software and it works fun, actually much better without all the bloatware nagging, etc. don't miss any of it.
Try upgrading the cooling paste on that. Lenovo uses 5wk thermal paste by default, and I think upgrading to 13wk makes a sizeable difference on things like this. You can see it's getting throttled as it's jumping up and down a bit.

If it's just for school work and media consumption then probably Lenovo IdeaPad 5. can't upgrade the ram but storage is upgradable. battery life is amazing i get consistently 8+ hrs with 50% brightness. Also it depends on what u may use it for in future. The TN display version sells at around 700 dollars.
Acer aspire aspire 7 and Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 are also ideal if u want to get high performance. There are some more but i can't remember atm

Make a bootable USB memory stick by using Unetbootin https://sourceforge.net/projects/unetbootin/ or a Live DVD of Linux Mint. During your PC startup get into the bios and make sure that the boot order has the hard drive last and CD or USB first. With your PC hard wired to the internet via Ethernet boot it up with Linux. Mint will load any necessary drivers needed from the internet if it's not in source media.
I would just see if your issues occur while you use Linux for awhile. Mint will use open source drivers where possible.
the link says that the ram is only slotted to work at 2600.
you may need to get something like this for you to get speeds of 3200
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086X2K1WP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I purchased that one before I get the Lexar Hades with RGB.

I have the same laptop (but 15IMH05) and what I did is that I checked the ram clock in task manager (in my case it was 2933mhz), then I went on amazon, searched "8GB RAM DDR4 SODIMM [your clock] and buy a one from a trusted company, in my case Crutial, and it's this one).
When I got the ram, I opened the laptop (just need to unscrew the back, and unclip it, it's very easy) and I just insered the ram, and done.
Thanks u/nachodogmtl. I'm updating the post with more pictures. It looks like I need to be some mounting kit for the NVMe to stand in place. Another option is to get a PCIe adaptor that I can put next to the Nvidia graphics card.
PC Decrapifier , if it's still a thing. Google Official McAfee removal tool (works better than just uninstall).
I use ninite.com when I get a new build, check all the things of free software I want/need and get one quick installer.
Lenovo does make a 65w charger like the one you want. I know the AMD Ideapad Flex 5 comes with it. Strange they don’t sell it on their site. There’s one on Amazon, but I can’t confirm if it’s actually OEM.
LAZARITE M Pen. Thing is, it was also happening with Wacom's Bamboo Ink, so I ruled out the pen being the root cause. Both pens were purchased separately. The laptop did not come with an included stylus.
There is no way to hookup a USBC docking solution to that computer. The T series had a docking solution that would click into a port on the bottom of the unit. T500 dock. Note there are no USB3.0 ports even. The USB headers on a T500 are 2.0, and could not serve the bandwidth needed for that dock. Convert your VGA to HDMI. Look around for better deals then what I posted there for the dock and the adapter.
Yeah. SSDs are getting cheaper and cheaper and it's fairly easy to pop open. I'd recommend this pry set (should be able to find it at local Auto Parts store) https://www.amazon.com/Titan-17713-3-Piece-Non-Marring-Precision/dp/B07S2FTXN6 they work great for the tight tolerances you'll be trying to squeeze between.
Thanks for your input! This has been my reasoning too, but I have read stories that people bought usb-c dongles and realized that no video is coming out? Would be nice to be sure before I place an order. For example, I've been checking out this product on Amazon (https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Docking-Station-Monitor-Ethernet-Compatible-10-1/dp/B0B7RPMD8P/) - it's a usb-c dongle that says it can do "10 in 1" (HDMI, VGA...), but when I read carefully there is a notice that says: "Wide compatibility: this dual monitor adapter is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 devices such as Apple MacBook (2015-2019), MacBook Pro (2016-2019), iMac/iMac Pro (21.5 and 27 inches), Google PixelBook (2016-2019), MateBook X Pro 13.9, Dell Precision 552 0, Alienware Latest series; Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Thinkpad s340 and more (Attention: the video function must confirm that your host device supports video output or DP Alt mode)"
Afaik my Yoga 520 doesn't have Thunderbolt 3, only "normal" USB-C. So would I be right to guess that such a dongle would not carry video from my laptop to external monitor?
Yeah man, too my knowledge those just don’t work. I wouldn’t try cheap Chinese cables like that, especially if you have important information on your drives.
I used a usb to sata cable like the one I linked below to restore my hdd
https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-SATA-USB-Cable-USB3S2SAT3CB/dp/B00HJZJI84
İf ı am not knowing wrong you can use nvme and sata in same time but you need a adaptor that changes sata to a pin (not nvme) Like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Suyitai-Replacement-IdeaPad-3-15IMH05-NBX0001T100/dp/B09GB8VTG5
I don't know what exactly it is, but maybe the screen has too much blue light or something? f.lux is mostly designed to reduce eye strain and help you getting tired despite looking at a screen in the evening/at night, but maybe it could help you tweak some colors a bit. color accuracy will of course go completely out the window
This one will fit. It is the only one that Amazon carries that has any reviews at all, is 60Wh 3910mAh. If you want to try other sources, Lenovo's part number is L20M4PC0.
https://www.amazon.com/IZKROR-L20D4PC0-Replacement-5-15ITH6H-5-15ACH6H/dp/B09R1X8QK2
If you decide to buy a Lenovo branded battery, buy only directly from Lenovo. Buying from any other place will either get you a used or counterfeit battery. In my personal opinion, as a retired tech, it's better to get a 3rd party battery that has some reviews then try buying a Lenovo battery anywhere else.
I have the m10 plus FHD 2020 and I bought this one. Its the only case I could find that's compatible with the dock.

I am thinking on this one
idk what you really mean, but here is something that: link. This laptop has a metal body so that's pog (ie less wear and tear)
THE LINK ABOVE IS NOT A 17'' MODEL, please find that one if you wanna get one of those hard covers. It also comes with a screen protector AND a keyboard cover which might not be too useful for you, but its a great deal regardless.
One thing that I will warn you (as you love your laptop so much lol), is that this series of laptops have hinge issues (ie they can break easily as the hinge is very small and really not held by much other than some thin metal sheets and plastics. So do handle that with care.
Hope this helps!
Oh hi i have the same laptop! i just have an "i" with that name lol. I agree, the lenovo support doesn't answer the question lmao. It depends on what you're doing on it.
Back to the question: no it will not actually. If you get one of these (you can def find a cheaper one for about 10 bucks) and put the laptop with the lid opening side down (so like the yoga logo on the front is upside down), there will be MORE than enough airflow (actually, it will be much better than if your computer was sitting on a table!). Just make sure that the vents on the backside of the laptop are not hidden by the vertical laptop stand!
You see how this answer was personalized as both of us have a yoga that has that logo on the top of our laptops? xD
I'm actually considering doing the same for my laptop to not ramp up its fans!
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, you can't convert VGA to HDMI without a powered adapter. Here's one below that should work :
I cannot say for certain the quality of this particular adapter, as it's just one I found randomly on Amazon. But this is the type you'll need, as you can see it has a power port on the side of the adapter to accept a micro-USB power adapter.
Hey I have this laptop and originally purchased a cheap USB-C hub and it actually fried my USBC port surprisingly. So I had to get a second laptop and this is the upgraded USBC dongle I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SLS9W72?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hope this is helpful. I don't know if this is a trustworthy device but it's worked well for me. I did go through the reviews to see if anyone had a similar issue like me and fried their USB-C ports or had any issues. The reviews were pretty positive besides the dongle breaking after 2 months and being a lemon. I purchased it for $35 plus a $5 coupon and I think it regularly sits at $45.

Yup, the one on the right. If you just get a new one of those with the 'micky mouse' plug to fit your charger on one end and whatever you want to use on the other (schucko or europlug will both work fine) then you dont need a whole new charger and you also wont have to mess around with adapters.

I ran into the same issue you and I want to protect the screen as much as possible.
I am going to order this one and see if it works. If it works I will let you know.
Okay, so first of all, try adding like 50 bucks and going for 16 gigs of ram. It would help you out tremendously, especially if you are buying ultrabooks that have non-expanible ram.
1) Check if your desired laptop has expandable memory. if not, opt for 16 gigs at least
2) If you are going to be doing computer science, you most likely don't need a touchscreen laptop. Go for a good metal build and 512 gigs of SSD storage.
Actually, there is a great deal on amazon: 16gb ram, 512gb storage, Ryzen 7 4700U: link
Another one with similar specs: link
I tried with & without the baterry plugged in but the fan still doesn't work.
The fan is the exact same model/type that was use for my machine.

Great machine i suppose, ofcourse the graphics card can be newer and isn't the best for video editing but consider this option: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-SFX14-41G-R1S6-Creator-LPDDR4X-Backlit/dp/B093TK1PXF/ref=sr_1_11?crid=21YJSOUBIN2RQ&keywords=RTX3060+16gb+ram+144hz+laptop&qid=1660775054&sprefix=rtx3060+16gb+ram+144hz+laptop%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-11 ,if you don't have to go with lenovo i do think a better graphics card will suit you more.
Hey! You are right and I am in the same situation... BUT.
If you just need two screens output and you don not have any weird external display/resolution/refresh-rate, you can use a USB-C dock/hub.
With those you can have also several external displays, ethernet, audio, sd cards, usb-c/a hub, up to 100W power delivery, etc. Just with one cable. Yes, it tops @ 10Gbps, but that might be ok.
https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Universal-Laptop-Docking-Station-Usb-C-Triple-Monitor/dp/B0779K9DG2/
Some TB3 docks have a compatibility mode to work with USB-C, but others are just stuck with TB and there is nothing to do.
Hoyumi Screen Protector For... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YP6HHWT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I purchased this one at the recommendation of a user on another forum. Working great so far. I just can't believe I got it on with only a small fleck of dust in one corner and the top edges get a little air under them as they ride too close to the bezel due to the cut of the protector and the radius of the corners of the screens there. That is all in bezel though, so does not affect viewing at all.
Never tried that but im 99% sure it will not work.
If you are willing to throw money at the 'problem' you might as well get a display link adapter. Like this https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Graphics-Supports-displays-External/dp/B0943VNT67/ Those things are pretty much USB external graphics cards, they are not good for gaming but for office type work they are very much ok.
Purchased this during prime day, factory sealed Lenovo box. Turned on the laptop last night, did the initial setup and downloaded Chrome. I then restarted the laptop and closed the lid once restart was completed.
Today I come to it and Windows has an update (see pic) so I let it update and then immediately once the updates are completed this scam pops up(see pics). I have not signed into any accounts besides my in-laws Microsoft account (This was a gift for them since their old laptop died a few weeks ago) and I’ve already changed the password on that immediately once the scam popped up.
I feel like returning and getting another one. My Flagship Lenovo IdeaPad has had zero issues.
What are my options here? Link to the one I purchased below

You're looking for a WWAN card, you're not looking for a CPU (they're soldered to the motherboard anyway, and can't be upgraded).
I haven't opened up my wife's ThinkPad, so I can't really recommend a specific WWAN card (on the off chance that there are any compatibility issues), but this would be an example of a WiFi 6(E) WWAN card: https://www.amazon.com/WISE-TIGER-AX210NGW-Wireless-Bluetooth/dp/B08NSSJNV1/
Here's Lenovo's official WWAN card removal video: https://support.lenovo.com/nl/en/solutions/ht508716
When you set it up for a 2 screen mount, did the monitor end up with a bracket that would fit this stand? If not, you could add this bracket adapter kit
> WGP protocol
I too want this tablet because it is on sale for 379 right now but it is a nightmare trying to find what fucking pens work with this thing. A review says the PP2 supports AES and WGP, but OP said it apparently works with MPP so would this pen work?
I don't know if this is the same kind of bamboo ink the other poster mentioned, but it is a dual protocol pen so maybe it would work? Tracking down the pen that works with the yoga 13 would make it similar in price to the p12 pro that is on sale for 500 right now. I really like the features of the tab 13 over the p12 though, but it might just be easier to get the p12. I literally only want to be able to write notes, I dont draw or anything.
Has anyone used this kit?

Op there's another one with the same specs but with hexa core Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 AMD Ryzen 5 5600H 15.6" FHD IPS 250Nits Laptop (8GB/512GB SSD/RTX 3050 4GB GDDR6/120Hz/Windows 11/Office 2021/Backlit/3months Xbox Game Pass/Shadow Black /2.25Kg),82K201RRIN https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09SKTLDK1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_HXRA6HVANE37SHSQSR50?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Hey, sorry if I'm resurrecting a dead post but I found out that if you go onto the Lenovo support website and download "Lenovo Service Bridge", it will detect your model # and display all of the parts that went into building your system. There is also a section for replacement parts, and I believe if you have a 45wHr battery there is a 60 wHr replacement available. I found one on Amazon for ~$100.
This one should be compatible with the 15ACH6, but I would recommend going to the support page, parts, "select commodity", under "rechargeable batteries & internal", and get the part number of whatever battery you seek and searching it on Amazon. Be careful with the part # as some stuff comes up that is not compatible.
good luck setting up your pc. remove every lenovo app other than lenovo vantage and (maybe) lenovo utility. other apps work but are not a productivity booster. vantage is good to check your warranty status and have links to change your waranty date and if you are lazy about updating drivers and also some useful settings. i recently bought this and am trying to optimize it for some medium usage.
and about warranty just contact customer service through virtual assistant on chat on website they will redirect you to email some docs to their mail id. your process will be done in 3 days. and have a lenovo account to get all of this done and to have some piece of mind as they give 1yr accidental damage protection.
It's later in the morning and I still haven't had coffee yet, so maybe my brain is running under less than optimal conditions:
Why don't / can't you just get something LIKE THIS and have your memory increase?
I ordered my Legion 7 with 2 NVMe M.2 SSD (2280) drives of 1TB each and they work great. I removed the RAID 0 array so that they could be used independently.
Retired tech here. Balloonwithnoskin's right on the money. Lenovo posts service manuals on their web site. That will tell you how to take it apart to check connections. If you end up replacing the drive, I suggest this: SanDisk SSD PLUS 1TB Internal SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s, 2.5"/7mm, Up to 535 MB/s - SDSSDA-1T00-G26
The price is pretty good and you'll get a significant speed boost over a traditional hard drive. Amazon also sells external hard drive cases that connect to your laptop via USB. You could buy what I suggested, put your old drive in a case, and try recovery at your leisure while having a working laptop.

You can replace the WiFi card for cheaper no? Preferably with an AX card from Intel. Make sure to follow common ESD protocols if you replace. Disconnected battery and discharge laptop before touching anything.

It should work since I upgraded my T580 with the AX200NGW with no issue. Your link is also a ax200. I tested mine under Arch/Ubuntu/Fedora.

This is the card I am looking at as an upgrade.
install this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.aospstudio.files&hl=en&gl=US, then make a shortcut of it.
Yes. You can buy a pen from Amazon. I bought this one 2 years back:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0791TQPXS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But you certainly have more options nowadays.
Sounds like a plan. And it may be that many docks are more expensive with HDMI, but this is what I buy for my employees: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JN73HQK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
It has HDMI for $71, but only does 4k30Hz though, so if you want to game on a 4k screen at 60fps+ this wouldn't be the one to use.
Ah thanks for the link. Yes, you're right. I would need higher Hz. I found this one: has all the ports and a panda on the back https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09M3QN4D6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_dl_80P2PTX9MY45P2DW1CXH
That's exactly what I was looking for in an answer. Did a bit more research based on that info, and found this stick for the same price, but that actually specifies it's 1xR8.
Thank you very much!
Also, by any chance, do you know what rank the stock stick is? Kind of want to order two sticks, but it doesn't seem a good idea without knowing what rank the stock has.
To upgrade your SSD, you only need a bigger SSD and a part similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/MSATA-Adapter-Converter-Reader-Support/dp/B07T87JZMM/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=M.2+NGFF+or+mSATA+to+USB+3.0+Adapter+2-in-1+NGFF+or+mSATA+Converter+Reader+Card&qid=1647912593&sr=8-1
I'm about to order this one so I can increase the size of the one in my Asus (I have Lenovos also). I'll be using this in a Linux system to copy the partition over, but I can't recall atm exactly how. I've previously done that on regular old HDD's.
The problem with drilling out a screw is that it only removes the head and not the shaft. So you'll never have a good closure on that part of the case again unless you completely remove it, drill out the plastic, and replace the screw base.
I've had really good luck (8/10 attempts) with these precision screw extractors and I was able to replace with another OEM screw after. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NJNGZHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_H2TEJA95B7PC1975NE9S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You might not care about not having a screw in the case. I do, so I thought I would mention it.
download the Lenovo PC Diagnostic app onto your phone it can identify the audio beeps from your pc and tell you what they mean

System model is "GL753VE"
Here it is: https://www.amazon.com.au/ASUS-ROG-GL753VE-i7-7700HQ-Graphics/dp/B071YK8NP1 (Except the only difference being the SSD is 256GB in the one I have).
I don't recommend getting a kit with only 1 of each plastic spreader as those wear out really fast. This is the one I got which came with 4 spares each and also way more bits which are required for certain chromebooks and drive enclosures. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0718ZM6R1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've been using it in my shop for over 3 months now with no complaints other than some of the plastic spreaders are already completely worn due to the number of laptops I open on a daily basis.
I have a slightly older version of this backpack, and it works great for my ThinkPad T530 which is 15".
Lots of cushioning, zippers are good quality, and doesn't get your laptop wet if it rains.
There may be better ones out there, but I know this one works for me.
The 4GB Nvidia 1050 has more space for 3D objects, textures, and other display details. Most games don't need the extra VRAM space. However, games like Witcher 3 and Planet Coaster and GTAV could use more than 2GB of VRAM meaning that the 4GB would allow better visuals and less hitches while loading new areas. There is a very small performance benefit for more serious gaming. Casual or less-demanding titles will be unaffected. I play a lot of Planet Coaster so I want the extra VRAM.
The difference between the i5 and i7 is minimal in this form factor. There is a performance difference indicated by benchmarks (see http://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2922&cmp[]=2906 ), but real world difference is going to be around 10%. The i7 will be faster at the expense of some battery life and extra heat.
Hey so it might be an issue with the laptop motherboard or battery and then warranty will be your best bet. It could also be an issue with the charger. Check if the charger cord (outlet side) is plugged into the charging brick good enough. If it is plugged in well enough then look at the charging port side because if you take it with you much there might be something in there which prevents it from connecting.
You might try other driver versions.
You can extract .cab files with a program like 7zip then point the update driver option from the Device Manager to the extract location.
I just had this issue with my Intel AX200 with January's drivers, rolling back to December's drivers fixed it.
