Best thing to do is to plan an elaborate meal plan and end up getting something at Chick Fil A. You'll eat that salad tomorrow.
Speaking of salad, I do the Mason jar thing. Buy a bag of lettuce and mixed vegetables, grill up a few pounds of chicken and chick peas. Start with your dressing (Italian or bust), layer the lettuce and veggies over that, throw your protein on top with a nice and generous amount of ground pepper. When you're ready, shake the jar up to mix and eat straight out the jar.
Cooler is a Kato brand I picked up on Amazon.

A reply to the down-votes you are getting for stating a fact:
It is distressing in particular that many people refuse to acknowledge that over 50% of murders in the US are committed by the black minority (around 13%), as if it were some kind of embarrassing chronic racial failing instead of a consequence of lack of education and the breakdown of the family dynamic - and other issues. On a related note, how ironic is it that black Americans were growing richer as a group from the 1930's until momentum slowed dramatically in the 1960's - after the civil rights era? (Am reading black scholar Thomas Sowell's book "Black Rednecks and White Liberals")
We cannot fix the problem by pretending that our reality is only racist hate-speak. This willful ignorance I find rather terrifying because it is being manifested with such vehement, unreasoning anger.
I spent this last January in the Dominican Republic which is largely black and mixed race. Was great to be around black people who felt free to just be people and without all the silent undercurrents of fear, resentment and blame that we have in the states. The Dominicans I met live in the now, take you at face value, and were just wonderful people: cheerful, kind, hugely family oriented and as a group, amazingly good looking. But they are incredibly poor. I really don't know how they do it; they were inspiring.
Edit: Excellent series of essays on origins and ramifications of southern and northern, black and white cultures, plus more:Black Rednecks and White Liberals.

I wear an Apple Watch 4 with this case. I love it, my phone battery is always charged. I leave it in the car half the time. As far as needing stealth mode, you can put it in theater mode which makes it silent and the screen won't light up from you raising your wrist. I use mine so much, I just have the screen tell me the weather, time/date obviously, moon phases, and my heart rate lol.
This is an old trick. I did it on my old shirts. Better solution are the stirrup shirt stays that clamp up top with a metal spike. Used them for years and they’ve never come loose. Not once.

As a regular citizen who's interacted with many vets and cops professionally, I will say... I think that there is an element of professionalism in the military I don't see with many LEO's. When I interact with a solder, they are distant, respectful, focused. When I interact with LEO's they have a tenancy to be much less respectful and interject their individual personality much more often - good and bad.
It also seems that most police consider their primary responsibility to "enforce the law", which is of course true and understandable. But the motto is "protect and serve" and that is how departments promote themselves to the community. I've known multiple vets who value the concept of "duty" that have had significant problems with this distinction.

May I recommend "Cop in the Hood" and that former officer's well made podcast Quality Policing.
Basically, Peter wanted to do graduate research on cops by working with an academy class in the Baltimore Police Department. The funding was pulled last minute but the Lieutenant working with him said he should just join the police if he wanted to understand cops. So, he did. The book is an interesting take on Policing since he was never intending on being a cop and was well educated on the academic side of the criminal justice system prior to joining.
FWIW. As best as I can tell, it doesn't ignore you, it actually tells you off
If you need a lock for your locker, don't use a regular combo lock with the spinning dial. Those things are not fun to open when you are being screamed at and have 5 seconds to get dressed. Get something like this instead. Also get shirt stays (the ones that loop around your feet, not the ones that attach to your socks).

Most people don't carry one of the simplest tools: a window-breaker/seatbelt cutter. Often you see knives that can second as seatbelt-cutters too, but they take a lot of time to use when it comes to just seatbelts.
So along with a knife (which I think is common), I also always have this on my keychain. I can't tell you how easy it is for the seatbelt cutter to cut the seatbelt, either. No pocket knife blade can cut a seatbelt like a seatbelt cutter can. It doesn't even take a second; it's as smooth as butter if you do it in the right angle. With a knife blade, you have to essentially wear and tear the seatbelt down. It takes too long.
It becomes extremely useful. People also tend to think that window hammers on the bottom of knives or flashlights work just as well. This is incorrect.

You can also take advantage of the program developed by the United States to teach foreign languages to their diplomats. Also free.

Also, I just graduated with a Criminal Justice degree. I happen to be glad that I did it. But I also majored in sociology in college. CJ is a great program, but I do wish I had majored in education so that I had a viable backup plan.
You'll have to start as a regular patrol officer in whichever agency you pick and then you'll have to work your way up to SWAT. I would recommend majoring in something other than criminal justice in the event that you get hurt. Like I said, have a back up plan.
I don't regret my Criminal Justice degree and I'm quite proud of it. But I am screwed if I ever get hurt on the job.
Also, the hiring process usually takes a year, so start applying the summer before your senior year of college. Until then, keep your nose clean and enjoy your life.

The new recommended one at /r/dashcam is the A119 I think. I bought the Black Box G1W-C before the A119 came out, and it was only $40 on Amazon, and runs perfectly. Only downside, is it's made by a Chinese company, and although the menu is in english, it's about as intuitive of a menu as you can expect from a Chinese company.
Honestly, I almost have enough saved clips to make a video of stupid shit. So I'll post that eventually.
Edit: Also, it has been suggested, that if you get into an accident, and the other person starts lying to the cops, let them. Then pull out the footage and show them, get them caught in a lie, and bam, case closed.
Lincoln polish is awesome, kiwi parade gloss if you can’t find Lincoln. Get a bag of cotton balls. Swirl the cotton ball around the tin of polish fast and the friction will melt the polish. Swirl the cotton ball on the boot leather in small little swirls and leave the polish on until it dries.
Take a fresh cotton ball and put a few drops of water on it. If water comes out when you squish it you’re using too much. Buff out the dried on polish until it shines. The first time you do a new pair of boots repeat this cycle 7 or 8 times to build up a good base. Every time after you will only need to do one cycle unless you get a really deep scuff.
Bonus points if you get some seal-a-shine and do a coat after. Fresh cotton ball with 7-10 drops on it per boot.
I used Corcoran boot because they only have a toe cap and heel cap to polish. The marauders are canvas on the sides and super comfy and breath well in hot weather.

She also lasted a whole 10 months working for the state. I guess that PHD in Urban Affairs wasn't much help.
Maybe she should be focusing on why young black men are robbing grocery stores and attacking cops. (Those of you that don't know the two thugs lived and are up on felony assault charges.) They have great video of them attacking the Safeway clerk. Too bad the officer didn't have a dash cam or something and this non-sense would have been put to bed.

Small changes to guns, like limits on amount of guns owned, can change the culture associated to weapons; this is a SMALL fix that can have a huge long term investment. People with guns kill in 100% of gun related incidents that is PURE fact. Now, people who are using guns to kill are stupid or crazy and you can't fix that, but you can fix how those stupid or crazy people think of gun cultures. When doom's day preppers are actively stockpiling weapons to kill attackers or gangsters are killing for respect or even people just invoking their belief of castle doctrine these crazy, stupid, or manipulated people are seeing this and thinking it is okay.
FACT: There is a culture of people who use and are more likely to abuse firearms. Violent people attach themselves to guns even before committing violent acts and more importantly guns CAUSE people to be MORE VIOLENT.

Not quite the same in that it wasn't used to justify a search, though.
Numerous studies show the efficacy of alcohol based hand sanitizers and there effectiveness on on numerous bacteria (such as E.coli, salmonella, etc) fungi, and some viruses (including HIV and Influenza).
The CDC recommends using hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available, though it recommends an alcohol content of 60% or greater, and warns that they are less effective on visible dirty hands.
Hand sanitizer is not perfect, and obviously soap and water is better, but to say it doesn't really do much of anything is just silly.
Look up any use of deadly force that was caught on body cam and watch how many still resulted in lawsuits.

Yeah. That's how the vast majority of the British drink tea. At least with milk in and a good percentage like some sugar in there. This is pretty much the perfect colour. Not too light not too dark. For me personally one (teaspoon of) sugar.
The thing you have to understand about tea in British culture is that its like day time beer. You can't really stop and have a pint for five or ten minutes then get back to work. So tea is used instead. Its a bit like a smoke break but you don't have to smoke. In this case getting the guy to sit down do something familiar for 10 minutes is no bad thing. Plus its quite normal for there to be a group having a tea and have a chat for a bit so having people talking to you when your stressed about whats just happened seems a bit more normal. In the same way you'd stand around and have a chat at the pub/bar or whilst having a smoke break if there are a few of you. Tea is actually not all that much about the drink but rather the social aspect of it.

You did what you had to, and anyone of us would have done the same. If you let this guy go and he gets into a car crash not only would he, young William, and the others involved in the accident be affected, but so would. Stay strong brother and move forward. Let me leave you with a quote from Ofc. John Cooper from the show Southland:
"...at o'dark-thirty, next time you're up, you will drag your weary, fried ass out of bed, you will put on your gun and your vest, and you will do it all over again. You know why? Because this is a front row seat to the greatest show on earth. Can you abuse it? Yes, sir - you can, and you will; I guarantee it. Because it is relentless, and it gets to you, and it seems like it changes nothing. But a day like today, with some interesting capers, and a few good arrests? That's good. But every once in a while, you get to take a bad guy off the streets for good... and that, my friend, is God's work. So now you wanna be a pussy and quit, you quit. You're a cop because you don't know how not to be one. If you feel that way, you're a cop. If you don't, you're not - you decide."

You need to subscribe to CR to view the full review but I've never heard anyone say anything good about Dodge. >It has also been appealed in every way conceivable and the verdict remains.
That's not a controversial opinion in P&S, but outside here I think you shouldn't be surprised at the lack of trust given to the police and the rest of the criminal justice system in Pa around that period in time. If I were a police officer, I would be very careful defending 1980's era Pa police-work this week (or ever). If you can't find something to criticize about the way things were apparently done, then that implies some pretty bad things about your worldview and respect for the law.

Might I recommend the book "The Quest for Cosmic Justice" by Thomas Sowell (should be available at your local library). The book is an examination of the phenomenon you are seeing here: politicians want to "help" one person/group but willfully ignore that it will necessarily harm another group (the key for the politician being: the group helped will generate more votes than those lost by the group harmed) in a quest to obtain "cosmic justice".
The politicians don't ever consider the impact of the choices they make as they see themselves as champions writing the wrongs of some great cosmic injustice that just happen to befall these people (as opposed to the consequences of the individual's choices); it is ultimately a racist and dehumanizing act that treats the "helped" person as an object merely passing through life with with no ability to make any choices in their own lives because of cosmic injustice.
It is a wonderfully interesting book and really puts in perspective the upper-white-middle-class-leftist-women-living-in-expensive-areas-of-coastal-cities into focus and show how dumb they really are and how often they end up hurt the very people and "communities" they are trying to "save" (i.e.: "we need to stop police patrols in high-crime areas because it is hurting black people").
It doesn't matter the that a de facto revolving door will lead to more crime, these politicians don't have to live or interact with the criminal element and therefore are never faced with the consequences of their actions so therefore they never learn their lesson.
Since we're on the topic of gloves from amazon... To anyone ordering: MAKE SURE TO READ HOW THICK THEY ARE.
I bought These from Amazon awhile back, to cover my hands while doing some machine maintenance because it has a lot of fine metal dust and grease that takes FOR-FUCKING-EVER to get off of my hands.
Ran out, then there was a sale with These. Bought them.... They're 3mils thick. The other ones were 6. It makes a HUGE difference. I tear the thinner gloves so goddamn often. It's great for slightly more delicate tasks, but for anything else, get the thicker ones.
The ones that Weiner linked are 5-5.5mils thick. Pretty close to my first box.

The fingerprint itself isn't even stored on the device. That's not how it works. Data from the fingerprint is turned into a key and then that key is used to decrypt the passcode. To add, because of the way it works, there is about a 1 in 50,000 chance to match with any other random person with the way apple does it. It's just not very practical.
>The 88-by-88-pixel, 500-ppi raster scan is temporarily stored in encrypted memory within the Secure Enclave while being vectorized for analysis, and then it’s discarded. The analysis utilizes subdermal ridge flow angle mapping, which is a lossy process that discards minutia data that would be required to reconstruct the user’s actual fingerprint. You highlight a very real problem...one of the many I was referring to earlier when I said we have real problems to focus on. The media is actually allowed to lie to the public. Choose whatever non dubious source you like...but I've yet to find anything to the contrary that suggests the media is legally bound to tell the truth. That is unacceptable, given the power the media can wield. Power without accountability is a recipe for disaster.
The FCC has a guideline against lying...but that guideline has been proven on appeal to not carry the weight of law....ironically enough, it was FOX News who was up against it...and proved the aforementioned.
That said, they don't always lie, and you can play their biases off each other and get a pretty good read...at least...in my experience.

These have a little pin in the clip portion that prevent slippage.
Ive been using them for years with no problems. Any minimal discomfort outweighs the discomfort of my uniform shirt being untucked or baggy.
I've read The Art of War, but it was quite a while back. Maybe it's time to re-read it. Did you find any books or parts of the bible more helpful than others? Because I'm going to be completely honest with you; I'm not going to read it cover to cover.
What that guy said. Shoe polish and brush. You could also put edge dressing on it.
I wanted to share my co-workers new book he wrote as a guide to help patrol officers with traffic calls. He has a ton of experience in working as an AI in a very busy city. This book is a good reference for anyone to have when you need to take a TC and might have never done it or it’s been a long time.
Forward :
Have you ever asked dispatch,
"IS TRAFFIC AVAILABLE?"
Take away the mystery of accident investigation with this easy to read guide that should be in every patrol cop's gear bag and find out why some officers say working traffic is the best kept secret.
With over two decades of experience as a collision investigator, John Roman covers every part of the investigation from arriving on scene to common report writing mistakes. Roman shows you what questions to ask during an interview and what to cover during DUI, pedestrian and bicycle collision investigations.
Is Traffic Available? The Patrol Officer's Guide to Collision Investigation can give you a better understanding of what to do and how to do it.
About the author
John Roman has handled 9,000 accidents as a police officer in Orange County, CA where he's worked as a traffic officer for almost 24 years. Roman also trains officers as part of the field training officer program and the department's civilian report writers. He's the senior traffic officer at the department and has been named divisional officer of the year three times. He is also a member of the department's negotiation team.
The only gun we had to clean in my academy was the Glock 17 we used.
This is the exact one I bought. Just bought a cheap tackle box to hold everything because the box it comes in sucks.
I also bought a huge 1k count box of WalMart brand q-tips. All they're good for is cleaning guns, so my entire class used all of them.
Get yourself something like this.
Bring a home cooked meal, plug it in and forget about it while you patrol. Depending on what you bring, heating times vary. I get the best general results at 30 to 40 minutes. Point is, you save money on eating out, generally can eat healthier, and still have a hot meal. It's been so convenient for me to plug the thing in, do whatever I need to, and then suddenly, when I realize I am hungry, I have hot food waiting for me.
While I agree with what you've said, the "weird object", I'm pretty sure is a droplight like this.
But with the metal cage removed, and an LED corn light screwed in instead of a normal bulb.
> Congrats, you have been shot and killed.
...did you... did you just threaten to shoot me? Are you fuckin' psycho or what?
> No that's a retarded as fuck choice because it guarentees they will send this dog meant to "maim" after you.
Your insensitivity to intellectual disabilities notwithstanding, I agree with you. But I don't think it's at all unreasonable to, as a component of your personal security, create distance between yourself and someone who has trained an animal to attack you. I think this is non-controversial as a basic principle of safety.
> Police dogs do do "normal animals things", my father's was just as much a part of our family as any other dog, except he also had a job.
Some are, some aren't. I bet I know more police dogs than you do. Some are really terribly adjusted and can't easily function. Others are family pets with jobs. I wish that they were all only family pets with jobs, and that none were ever trained in violence.
> Nor are they political pawns, except when people like you make them so in your anti-police tirades.
I don't think that being concerned with the welfare of K9 units is "anti-police."
And they are most certainly political pawns; you are just discrediting yourself by denying that. Here are some definitions of "pawn":
> merriam-webster: one that can be used to further the purposes of another
> dictionary.cambridge.org "a person who does not have any real power but is used by others to achieve something"
...they're all pretty similar.
A K9 unit, when used for bite work, is obviously both political and a pawn.
I use this Tactical Ear Gadgets HAWK lapel Mic. I’m a bit lazy after taking care of the dog and equip. This doesn’t need much maintenance. I used it for a long time and it’s cheap.HAWK I remember it being cheaper than 100 though
For older cases, this book is great. Otherwise watching new cases and following their rulings. Casetext.com is also a good reference.
Here is a book about the CHP academy
No idea if it's up to date though
I'm not sure what this has to do with this subreddit.
But, I"m pretty confident you're looking at tips for a woodburning tool, like this:

I've always heard it was popularized by The Choirboys
Alright dudes. Check it out. If you’re looking for a stylish set of glasses that are dark enough to simulate an eclipse of epic proportions. Get these bitches. Polarized, category 4 lenses (gotta get the cat4). I get no kickbacks I just really like these shades.

Jailing murderers will never stop murder either, so I guess we just give up. Same for literally all crime. And yes, people like to call gun violence a public health problem too.
This is a dumb, dumb argument. If this is your basis for your belief you should probably read an actual book about the issue rather than just reddit sloganeering.
Here's a starting point. I read it several years ago. It makes some actually decent arguments. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L5M8U7M/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_GWBC6Y1701JZDNCKVS3J
While on vacation, I really wanted to go to Fook Yuen for lunch, but never did.
I like this one. The pointy end is covered, and it clips on, and easily disconnects when needed. https://www.amazon.com/01-100-09-Original-Emergency-Keychain-Seatbelt/dp/B01G6C18EC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1KBE19UEO3S0M&keywords=rescueme&qid=1643317530&sprefix=rescueme%2Caps%2C437&sr=8-2
Like a charm. Bought another one last week. Here ya go!
This knife. It doesn't force you to try and strike the window. Fits in a pocket and is a decent knife.
Gerber 22-01944 Strap Cutter, Black https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B001PTGOKA/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_641SWRJEVRSPSYFRWJA3
Glass breaker/seatbelt cutter. Fits in my vest's front pouch. It comes with a strap to attach it to your molle webbing but that just becomes a safety hazard in a scuffle.
Spring loaded centerpunch. They come in many different varieties, but I prefer this brass one, because it is hefty, and has good grip texture when using gloves. Search for "spring gloves" like for skiing. They are the thickest warmest I can get and still function my tools effectively. I have a pair of Scott brand ones that I love, but these look incredibly close. I also have baby hands so I needed some that fit perfect as well. "medium" doesnt cut it for me.
