My only advice would be to make sure your exhibition is balanced between the good and the bad. Include pictures of sex workers using the free time the job affords them to care for loved ones or pursue hobbies and using the money to care for children, get out of debt, pay for apartments and transportation. Yeah VPNs will definitely throttle your speeds regardless. Especially depending on the VPN you're using. You might want to google VPNs that prioritize speed. From what I've heard, there's some pretty quick ones out there. I'm currently using NordVPN and I get throttled hard, but I think that's more because of my shitty Comcast router.

As a Network Administrator, consider getting a VPN* that has a server in Toronto. It's easy to run reports identifying where IP addresses are coming from and correlating them to specific users. If they're serious about keeping out U.S. based, they will run such reports.

Have you thought about doing incalls in your own apartment, but getting your apartment on a shorter term lease and moving to diff areas in the complex every few months? You may be able to request a diff apartment unit on the same lease.

My only tip is don't actually give guys the directions/address to your place, tell them a local landmark nearby then guide them into your place. Like "Are you at Walgreens? Great make a left out of there and head into the second neighborhood you see. Okay now go all the way down the street and take a right, then 3rd building." Then you walk out to greet him, feel him up for weapons, and guide him into your apartment, that has your door open already.

You might want to read Sex at the Margins by Laura María Agustín (I mention this a lot). It doesn't focus on the US, but it takes another perspective of sex trafficking. As I (roughly) remember it, there are a number of women who say they have crossed a country's border to do sex work, and the person or organization who helped them cross withholds their passport until they make X amount of money, which is not what they agreed on. This is coercive, but the women in the book have more agency and freedom than the US media would have you believe, IE they knew they would be doing sex work, they still make money to send home to their families, and they are still able to go home if they want to leave the situation. These women identify as migrant workers, not "trafficking victims". I definitely recommend reading the book, however Laura María Agustín's blog also has lots of additional ideas and information.

She did research in the 90's with street based sex workers, who were the target of policing. She sat in on a "john school", where the coordinators told the johns to go online to find sex workers, not on the streets. There is also a chapter on more recent (2004 I believe) middle class sex workers in the bay area.
