I uploaded the stash he gave me here for those of you asking for it.
Just be aware it will (obviously) replace everything you currently have in your shared stash.
The 80% off sale in Steam seems to have increased the amount of players. There are around 30-60 players playing Co-op via Tunngle whereas, from Steam and Runic, it's pretty high. ;) You should join in as well.

http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=39502 That's an increased draw distance mod... As for a mod for increased zoom difference, I actually couldn't find one (maybe its out there but I didn't see) but you can just use a console command instead
CAMERADISTANCE ### : The ### the camera will be from the player.

heres a bunch of other console commands. Not all console commands toggle the cheater flag, I doubt this one does but then again who knows? Test it yourself :P
> Also it does take a while to load, hopefully its faster in TL2.
They said late in 2009 that they had solved a lot of the loading time issues but couldn't patch the fixes into TL1 because it would break all the mods.
Max Schaefer also said in an interview that they learned a lot about optimising loading times while working on the 360 port.
So the loading times should definitely be faster.
A ton of people have issues with Steam cloud on this game.
If you have dropbox you can copy your entire save folder (located at C:\Users\Desktop\Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\save by default) into your dropbox, and just copy it over on your other computer.
Nothing as long as you are transferring from your paypal balance or from bank account. Paypal fees
I also use Amazon Payments so that's another alternative.
It seems like she just prefers to let her interview partner handle all the explanations in this format. She recently conducted a SWTOR interview with Daniel Erickson in a similar manner, and that's a game she plays/played and has done guides for.
Anyway, the tidbit that was news to me personally was that the beta is now closed and they are working on fixing the issues that got reported via beta feedback to get ready for the release.
Nope. No firewalls. How do I watch network connections? Something like this?:

I'd see what port Torchlight was using, then forward that?
Be careful! If I remember correctly, turning on the battle log can slow down the game quite significantly. Also, it's a console command, so be sure to only use it on a character you don't mind being "tagged" as a console user. If you've never used the console before, here's a link with instructions. COMBATLOG is the command for the battle log.
Other than using the console, I don't know of any way to show specific damage types. Any one perhaps know of any mods?
Short answer is things like cast speed, %elemental damage, focus, and crit help with prismatic bolt damage.
Long answer is there is a combat log, but you have to enable the console. I don't think you are flagged a cheater for just turning on the log. Alternatively, create a specific test character and go hog wild altering skills and stats to test, I think the flag is character specific. I could be wrong though.
The log is unfortunately very verbose. Here is one shot on my test character. All 4 effects triggered in that shot. I believe the last few lines is the burn damage, but I was getting 6's as the pop ups on the training dummy.
This character should be doing 12 f/i/e/p damage per bolt, so this line represents the main damage: "effect applied DAMAGE:P1DMG:DYNAMIC:Fire val:11.772 dur:-900->Target Dummy". You can find five instances for each damage type in the log.
the name? It's called Ants_mod, because my name is anthony =) It's not published or anything.
Load order looks correct with synergies, but I never got the pet mods working, so I left them out. Not sure about with standalones. I used mobswarm and LAO previously as well, they are great! If you like big mobs, you might also try UltraMax (I used x3), it's pretty hectic.
You have to play with load order sometimes to get it right. Also, combining mods works wonders, especially if you spend the time in GUTS to consolidate things like globals.dat and the RAW files. You'll need TL2_tools from Runic's site (google will get it). I input a "master" (whichever mod I "prefer") and then note & weigh changes to such files with this site: http://www.diffchecker.com/
I like to expand all of my mods (even synergies), add them to non-solid 7zip archives, and then really look at what all files are being modified, find where conflicts might occur. I really don't understand a lot of how TL2 works, and the forums are less than helpful. Finding out what UNITTYPE and NOTUNITTYPE effects for items was almost impossible. Unittype effects which sort of item (unit) an affix can attach to, whereas notunittype disallows an affix from "spawning" on random_magic items, btw.
The great thing about how modding works in these games is that you can almost never "break" anything, provided you back up your save files =) Pick up RapidRespec as well, it can often "unbind" mods from a save. Good Luck!
Crap, more I forgot! : Check out the debugging options available, including EXTRALOGGING.
Have your exact router, had the exact same issue. Not using VPN was the solution, not sure which one you use but I use NordVPN. No idea why, I’m not the expert you clearly are I just shot in the dark a few times and fixed it.
i have one very similar to this that plays TL2 and these games perfect on low settings
As far as I know this is a NAT issue. I have the same problem with warframe, gameranger, warcraft 3 and others. If you have strict nat you can only connect to people with no NAT.
Here's the warframe article trying to fix it https://www.warframe.com/strictnat Strict NAT can be caused by OS, ISP and router, nowadays it's mostly old routers. Luckily most recent games don't use this system.
Warframe and this game I've never got to work.
Just a PSA, Torchlight II is supported by GameSaveManager. It's a pretty awesome piece of software that you should be using right now, that lets you back up all your save files as well as sync them with Dropbox/Google Drive/Skydrive.
Controller Companion is a great tool for using a controller on your pc, dont know if you can bind certain keys though, but if you dont have a mouse, this program will help if you're just using a controller atm.
I usually use Nvidia Inspector to limit framerate on games, but there's a lot of programs out there able to cap framerate. MSI Afterburner should be able to do it as well I think, which also supports AMD cards and others. Not sure if torchlight has any built-in option to cap framerate other than v-sync, I haven't seen one so far.
I'll keep that one in mind if everything else keeps failing me. Thanks much.
EDIT: I just checked their game listings and Torchlight 2 isn't there yet. I'm sure it will be soon, though.
