Just a heads up everyone, Amazon has the price down 40% right now. Normally it's $106, but they have it down to $65!!!
nisio breaks many, many, many rules of narrative and writting, most of his works are meant to be seen as a whole, not as partials.
It will be very hard to 'sell' just the soliloquy
http://deturl.com/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weLwNJerdzs
That's actually wrong. Shinobu speaks in old-style Japanese, so she's just using an outdated, but respectful, form of address. Dictionary reference.
Also, the other way she refers to him is 'Aruji-sama,' which means 'master.'
Just FYI: According to Amazon, OWARIMONOGATARI part 1 is due mid-December. Maybe a good thing to spend that 10% RightStuf coupon on.
Downloaded this app to place gifs as wallpapers. I then Googled gifs of best girl and bam done. The app while a bit clunky allows you to resize the gif which makes it great.
God damn it, Isin. Jeez we've been hearing about the end of the series since Koi, yet he can't seem to decide when to definitively end the series!!!
I mean it's great he's doing more but....I think it'd be best if he didn't go overboard with the series.

Too much of anything is bad practice. I like how Monogatari series aren't repetitive neither in their humour nor their serious side.
Evangelion is probably not attractive to modern anime watchers as its themes are slightly outdated. Religion doesn't play that big of a part anymore in our lives, for instance.
Kizumonogatari's the only one in English so far. It's really easy to order off Amazon or pick up at Barnes & Nobel
Here's the amazon link for Bake part 1 if you want it.
here, it ships internationally so you just need to make an account for amazon jp
I can't remember the specific plot of Nekomonogatari as I watched everything from Bake to Kizu in the span of a couple weeks, but it is worth noting that in this context, that "sit" meaning of 正座 might not be the right nuance, as it can also mean "kneel."
Generally in Japanese society it's a sign of respect to sit/kneel in that particular posture, as you would during a tea ceremony or while praying to a family shrine inside your home, for example.
Edit: Formatting
I had physically purchased it at a convention for 30$, but you can find it on amazon for 18$ here: https://www.amazon.com/Sega-Monogatari-Yotsugi-Ononoki-Premium/dp/B079K7PD8N/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1542766091&sr=8-7&keywords=yotsugi+ononoki
Just make sure you start including sources. For example here is the one for this post:
To find the source if you don't already have it, use http://saucenao.com.
Unless something has changed, Shaft announced a year or two ago that they would be animating all Monogatari series books.
http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=423269
I can't find confirmation at the moment, but I think I read somewhere that they are releasing Kizu last. I suppose ending with the beginning is sort of a cool idea.
Went to the Amazon Japan page of this. Cover's not there yet but it's already leaking in Twitter Japan though this link #忍物語
Here's the Google Translated synopsis of Shinobumonogatari
> "Occasionally it will be the party to help girls who do not care about it" A case where Naoetsu High School girls students disappeared one after another occurred. There is a characteristic scar on the neck of the girls who were found mummified. Araragi Koyomi, who became a university first year student, runs to pin down the criminal! <Monogatari> Series Monster Season, opening season!

Haha thank you. Here is the Amazon listing for it: https://www.amazon.com/Banpresto-Kizumonogatari-Acerola-Figure-Version/dp/B071J7K1TD/ref=sr_1_3?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1545789502&sr=1-3&keywords=banpresto+kiss+shot

I can't find any particular naming outside of it being noted as the 17-Year Old Version of Kiss Shot.
As of right now, there are no officially licensed translations of the novels released, only fanlations and only of a select arcs as far as I can find (though there are summaries in english out there for pretty much every single arc).
However, there was an announcement a few months ago that kizumonogatari will apparently get an English release soon, along with the rest of the series. It seems they'll try to release them chronologically.
And yeah, it has a lot of word play, so translating the books takes a lot of time and apparently is hard to transfer well. I've heard some fans say they're scared the official release won't put enough effort into making the translation work well. I'm personally indifferent about it though.
Funnily enough, I'm pretty sure we'll get the light novel version of Kizumonogatari before we get the movie, which will be a big pain for me since I'll want to watch the movie before I read the book!
Well, I've got some good news for you.
I've bought several of these books from Amazon, some used, some new. If you have $15 to spare, I'd highly recommend picking it up. Even the used ones I've bought have been in really good condition.
Otori Kuchinawa figures are surprisingly easy to find!
More seriously, I can't find any Zoku Nadeko figures. Otori Nadeko has a nice one.
Also from Australia. I will sing the praises of the book depository for all things from LN to manga. Free shipping on all orders and 99% of the time lower prices than other stores.
This is always my recommendation for people. The Book Depository is a great website for buying books with free shipping worldwide. I very much love this site.
閣下, indeed, "your excellency".
It's certainly a coincidence, though. The ka ka laugh is supposed to be this arrogant, disdainful thing (you don't even need Wazamonogatari for that, she talks about it in the Nise commentaries... which haven't been subbed yet, I get it). Also, ka ka itself isn't unique to Monogatari, it's an established (if somewhat rare) type of onomatopoeic laughter in Japanese.
Releases May 22.
Also on Amazon UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Owarimonogatari-Part-2-Blu-ray/dp/B06XH3PCYL/ - £24,99
£17,49 on Anime-on-line (MVMs official store)
(this is for the blu-ray versions)
Just in time for the Monogatari Rewatch :)
The Pocky? Got it at Costco however it's available on Amazon.
If you mean the daki I got it on Cuddly Octopus!
Probably not as it was a way to promote Koyomimonogatari and here: http://www.monogatari-series.com/koyomimonogatari/
But it wont be of much use now that the year is over.
There is a Kizumonogatari app though, but afaik it's just a way to get info on the movie releases and watch trailers: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aniplex.kizumonogatari
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aniplex.koyomimonogatari
If it still wont' let you install, there is still a region lock on the app itself. In that case there are a few ways to bypass it. Either by having your Google Playstore Account set to Japan, or by downloading the apk from somewhere.
The literal translation is "I bit" (well the "I" part is implied), but it means that one misspoke. See this. It's an idiom, like "kick the bucket" for "dying" in English.
I think this should answer your watch-order questions. As for where to watch, Crunchyroll really is great. It is free to watch in up to 480p with ads, and if you pay then you get 1080p ad-free. There are plenty of free trials out there, however! Here is a totally legal, free, 30-day trial to get you started.
Keep in mind that for Bakemonogatari (the first in the watch order) is only in 480p on Crunchyroll for some reason, and is missing the last 3 episodes. To get the full experience, you would need to buy the BD or sail the high seas. Also, I wouldn't recommend watching on a tiny phone-screen! This series is visually beautiful. If you can, I'd watch it on at least a laptop.
Both collections are available on Amazon, they are both shipped and sold by Amazon not a 3rd party Marketplace. I bought both mine from Amazon when they were released.
Season 2 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1949980065/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Season 1 https://www.amazon.com/MONOGATARI-Box-Set-Limited-NISIOISIN/dp/1947194399
Well, I did find this on Aniplex's website and this on Amazon Japan. Neither shows the cover with words on it so whether that's a bootleg or not is questionable. I also question that the MSRP is around 5,000 yen but the Amazon listing you linked is being sold for ~$40 USD.
If I had to guess I'd say it's a bootleg. Especially since the Japanese BD and DVD according to Aniplex's website don't have English subtitles and aren't region free.
Is Amazon JP good enough? Tekketsu-hen | Nekketsu-hen
I got mine on eBay but there is some on sale via amazon if you have $25 spare
Not OP, but I got mine here- AmiAmi: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-MOE-1845 It is also on amazon. Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003M0OFAG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Amazon is probably your best bet. There's a collection of books 1-13 here but honestly it's hard to buy things, especially in sets, in the US, that aren't in English.
There's an official English translation by the publisher Vertical now that is currently translating all the novels, the latest one to have been published is Tsukimonogatari, and they're pumping a new one every 2-3 months roughly. You can buy them on Amazon, for example.
Also, if you're up for it, they grouped the first novels into a First Season Box Set, and a Second Season Box Set is also available for pre-order (but will only come out at the end of the year).
I think his last work was Zoku Owari. Pretty Boy Detective Club has Yamamura Hiroki as character designer, another mainstay at Shaft for character design and chief animation director.
Not sure of that's because Watanabe was busy/not interested, they did not want his style or because there's bad blood. But I have not heard of anything (for what's that worth, don't think he'd air dirty laundry) negative so far
I totally remember AnimePaper! I used to get all my wallpapers from there, I had no idea it had shutdown. That makes me sad.
Don't worry I'm still doing the tournament polls just taking a break today to share my review of Tsubasa Lion that I've been working on made in Amino first time ever getting featured :D http://aminoapps.com/p/wjnp1k
I know the title has tsubasa in it I tried to find pictures of black & white hair Hanekawa there was very little and the one I did find didn't go well with Kiriyama so I went with sodachi instead I like how the cover turned out
Tell me what you think about it did you like Tsubasa Lion 😊
There's a few ways to do it. The easiest way is to put it in the same directory as the video and just rename it exactly the same as the video file. So, you'd have something like:
[Groupname] Nisemonogatari 06.mkv
[Groupname] Nisemonogatari 06.ass
When you open the video file in VLC, the subs should be loaded automatically. This method only works if you have a version with the commentary audio already inside. Just choose the right audio track in VLC and you are good to go.
Alternatively, you can use MKVToolnix to put the subs inside the mkv file. If you don't already have the audio track, you should probably go this route. Just load that program, drag and drop your copy of the episode, the audio for the commentary track, and the subtitle .ass file into the Input/Source File area.
(From here, I'd recommend selecting the Commentary subtitles track in the bottom left and enter in Commentary as the Track name in the upper right and change the language drop down to English. Do the same for the commentary audio track but use Japanese for the language. This isn't necessary but it will look cleaner in the end.)
Then just click the Start Multiplexing button at the bottom and it will generate a new mkv file with everything inside.
Here is a link for the official subtitles from Bake to Owari S1. These are from the MVM/Hanabee blurays so the font/styling is slightly different than the Aniplex USA versions.
They are named after TheTVDB, but each file have the arc/book/season name.
NOTE: these need to be remuxed with a 1080p BD source, some video players might support pgs/sup as external subtitles.
Hello, I'm a bot! The movie you linked is called Wristcutters: A Love Story, here's some Trailers
That's a Max Factory Bakemonogatari: Mayoi Hachikuji Figma, and I bought it from a local toy store here in PH.
Here, I found one in Amazon
Oh shit they did?
10 second edit: I dont think they did https://www.amazon.com/MONOGATARI-Box-Set-Limited-NISIOISIN/dp/1947194399/ref=sr_1_17?crid=324K674YOBL7F&dchild=1&keywords=monogatari+box+set+season+1&qid=1610251897&sprefix=monogatar%2Caps%2C305&sr=8-17
Bought it on Amazon UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bakemonogatari-Collection-Blu-ray-Akiyuki-Shinbo/dp/B00MCKN832/ - but this is region locked to Europe/Australia as far as I know. (you can also buy directly from MVM - the company releasing monogatari in EU - http://www.anime-on-line.com/xcart/product.php?productid=25083)
I can send you a small cut of an episode/one whole episode if you have a somewhat fast connection or some screenshots if you want, but it seems to be using the same font as the one that is on Crunchyroll (the subs seem to be the same, maybe a bit updated in some places)
this is really nice. I'm gonna start collecting more seriously once I get away from my roommates.
edit: you convinced me to buy my first figure. I got this cheap but beautiful Madogatari Heart-Under-Blade "Devil Homura" version on amazon.
I have the same figure, I got mine off AmiAmi, but you can get the same figure off amazon.
AmiAmi: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-MOE-1845 Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003M0OFAG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Vertical Inc started publishing the novels in English in December 2016, the translations are pretty good for the most part. amazon link
Search this url on the internet wayback machine. There's also an older PDF version on readfag's wordpress. Those are both variations of Baka-Tsuki's translations though. From what I hear Vertical's official translation is superior.
If it even exists, I don't know where one could acquire a digital download of Vertical's official translation. You can find the official paperback and audio book on Amazon and the audio book is possible to find online if you know where to look.
I grabbed some frames off Amazon for those, they are 11x17 and ran me about $40 for a set of 6.
Here is a link to the frames:
MCS 11x17 Inch Format Frame 6-Pack, Black (65637) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01616HZIQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3DnrAbAJYNT3Z
it basically this headphones ($103) but the price is up since it has Shinobu on it ($137)
the review on Amazon is 3.5 stars, and it's a known brand, so take it however you want
Fun fact, holy shit, on Amazon UK one of these are being sold for £900. Around £80 on Ebay.
Worth every fucking penny
You can't get it from US amazon from my understanding. I created an account on the Japanese amazon website and ordered it from there. There's a setting to change the language to English. And they can ship to the US. Here's the listing: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B07Y6ZR3GV
I use Private Internet Access, cheap and works good (there are some better alternatives but I have had no problem with them).
It changes my Public IP address to an address in another country so Norway IP -> USA IP, so Crunchy thinks I am in USA.
This plugin also works for Chrome if you use that.
Maybe a bit of a grey area, but hey, I am paying for Crunchyroll at least.
Do you have an android? I did a little research and this is the closest app I can find. If you just don't have a smartphone in general... I don't know D:
You're right I messed up Hana somehow, probably after moving them around.
What I've actually done is reprint all the labels for the second season box set i bought that was wildly different and inconsistent in format! This product.
Plus, I fixed the label for Koyomimonogatari's MVM release where the age rating was at the bottom instead of at the top like all the other boxes I have. A little bit of scanning, photoshopping, printing at staples, cutting with a slicer, buying empty blu-ray boxes, lol
I believe they refer to the fact that the original anime, freely available for purchase in the USA (example), features an episode with >!naked Shinobu in a bathroom. And it's not just a glimpse, it's like full 10 minutes of screen time if not more.!<
Aren't you misunderstanding? They always release the bluray sets according to arcs instead of a full season bluray (example: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/otorimonogatari/sub.blu-ray-3/.80828), so they released the Neko white bluray AFTER it aired, as they did with every other arc. The 2nd season started on July 6th 2013, while the Neko White bluray released on June 24th 2014.
Do you have Crunchyroll? If so, enjoy:
First series aired:
https://www.crunchyroll.com/bakemonogatari
Actually next one chronologically after Kizu:
https://www.crunchyroll.com/nekomonogatari-black
Bakemonogatari actually follows Neko Black but watching it out of release order has other issues. You already started with Kizu so you can choose how to continue watching.
yeah, currently its only up to nise part 1, nise part 2 is coming at august 22. (Wiki page have the release dates for the books)
onii means a lot of things. it's not as cut and dry as to compare it to "older brother". that kind of direct (and incorrect) translation leads to issues. it can also be used more generally to a guy who's older than you but still relatively young, and that usage has different connotations than what "older brother" would imply in english. check out the second definition here.
i'm reminded of reading the comments after an episode of scum's wish, where the main character's family is friends with some young adult man and the MC calls him onii-chan. the subtitlers translated this as "big brother" which gave a large amount of people the misconception that they were related, when she only used that phrase because he's 1) older than her, 2) still relatively young, 3) she feels affection towards him. so people were lead to believe that she wanted some incestuous relationship with him 😊😊
Most people I've seen from outside the U.S. seem to order from Book Depository. (Probably because of the free worldwide shipping there advertising)
http://www.bookdepository.com/Kizumonogatari-Ishin-Nishio/9781941220979
I think VLC's ordered chapters support broke recently.
VLC is not great for playing fansubs in the first place. The subtitles might flicker or disappear, and the video might not play correctly. MPC-HC and mpv are good alternatives, though I don't know for sure whether they will support ordered chapters.
You can get this figure anywhere it’s just a special color version. I actually wanted to see if people noticed my actual prized possession. Which is standing to the left of Shinobu. xD
Calibre will work fine, but it's kind of like the iTunes of ebooks - good if you want to manage a library of them, but if you just want to read one, there's smaller alternatives.
I use SumatraPDF - mostly because I want a lightweight PDF reader instead of installing Adobe (although Chrome takes care of that these days) and it handles ebook formats as well.
Still, I generally prefer reading epubs on my phone or Kindle rather than on a monitor...
Well I thought of it as more of I don't really see the monitor all that much for wallpaper engine to be of use to me.
And my idle times are just music on while reading or something. Both my monitors have different wallpapers on cycle about every 15 seconds or so, which pretty much takes care of cycling through nearly all 6000 wallpapers I have saved using John's Background Switcher
And before WE was even a thing, I used Rainmeter for so long I just grew tired of the gimmick I guess.
Here the steps 1)get the episode 2)extract the part of the episode using FFMpeg 3)Convert the video to images using FFMpeg 4) select the best one 5)use http://waifu2x.udp.jp/index.html to enlarge the image 6)edit if necessary
I've never heard of Mosaic... but looking at Kizu's website... that location seems to still have tickets for the 22nd. Though both showings on the 24th are sold out.
22nd showing - http://www.fandango.com/kizumonogataripart2_195319/movietimes?location=22039&date=10%2f22%2f2016
Now to wait to see if it shows up at the one I went to for Part 1... ~~otherwise I guess I'll wait till the blue ray rips...~~ what am I kidding... time to go harass a movie theater :p
EDIT: No need it seems.. Looks like they are up and I'm traveling there again... Worth the drive :p! (I wonder if I can pressure a theater closer to do it :p I doubt it.)
Now the question is 11am or 7pm... I'm thinking PM
http://www.fandango.com/kizumonogataripart2_195319/movieoverview <- type your zip code(or the zip code of where you saw part 1)
Ok, shithead here's the proof
In term of brother or sister relationship, neechan and niichan never refer to younger brother.
It only refer to someone younger when used to refer young stranger in general.
Hence you're dead wrong.
If you want to tag it correctly later: 神前暁 - [化物語 音楽全集 Songs & Soundtracks CD2 #04] 人畜
Not op but I got mine from Amazon
Amazon UK (just as an example, I'm sure there are plenty of other online book stores that deliver there)
I bought some of it directly from MVM but on their website it looks like some of the older stuff is OOP. I've also bought the MVM stuff from Amazon.co.uk just check the publisher to make sure it's MVM.
https://www.mvm-films.com/Favourite/Monogatari_Series
Just remember these won't play on a standard US blu ray player (though some models have work arounds so you can watch other regions). I found a region free blu ray player for 100$ so even after buying it I saved money
https://www.amazon.com/Good-Smile-Bakemonogatari-Sengoku-Version/dp/B018FTXEGE/
Man really dropped $300+ for a plastic figure of a 14 year old. You could buy a real 14 year old for less than that

its a joke pls no FBI
I got it from Amazon Japan. Its expensive but totally worth every penny
Most people use a ikea brand glass display, but I used a 'convienence concepts designs to go' from Amazon- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GVP6506?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share it costs around 60 bucks but others were 300ish. but if you look around at secondhand stores or online marketplaces you could probably find a glass case. R/animefigures helped me out quite a bit getting into this hobby/addiction 😂
It already is released on amazon but it keeps selling out. I would keep an eye out on the product’s page, because every once in a while it becomes available for purchase on amazon.
I prerdered it on Amazon in Germany and still could, but Italy does list it as available for pre-order: https://www.amazon.it/MONOGATARI-Box-Set-Final-Season/dp/1949980863/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=MONOGATARI+Series+Box+Set&qid=1609798300&sr=8-1
I thought they were like this: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/%E8%A5%BF%E5%B0%BE-%E7%B6%AD%E6%96%B0/dp/4062838982
Are these a limited edition? They are beautiful.
You can get it from Amazon, can be shipped internationally
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1947194399/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So I got them in HMV but I found a link to it on amazon:
the novel box set is special edition and comes with the nice box not just the novels it is much cheaper on spanish amazon tho
oh boy you’re gonna be happy about this
You should go for the 2nd Season collection, cheaper and cooler than getting them on their own. 1st season colletion is sold out
i think its on amazon for like £18
Edit : Here's the link looking at some of the reviews it looks like a bit of a hit or miss with the quality so take that into consideration
Currently £77.93 on Amazon UK if you’re still looking
Kizunaiver and Death Parade look quite interesting. I'll definitely give Nisioisin's other works a look, too.
I also went a head and bought the MONOGATARI Series Box Set Limited Edition from amazon today. I was a little hesitant because I'm not sure how well the translations turned out, but it seems most people rate em pretty well. Looking forward to getting a deeper look into Monogatari.
Thank you!
Koi? Or do you mean Koyomi?
On Ebay UK and Amazon UK Koi is easy to find, and at a good price.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Koimonogatari-2015-Blu-ray-/163071960522?hash=item25f7d8a5ca
