DRAGON SLAY Universal Arcade Fight Stick Controller - 8 Button Compatible with Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC & Android https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713YY1LY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FPK8DbE713V0Z
It’s a rebrand of a currently existing generic fight stick you can buy on Amazon right now
It being a Razer product in no way justifies the price. At best, it explains it, as Razer is infamous for selling overpriced, crap products. Even this stick is literally a rip-off of the Mad Catz fightpad, except it's even less usable (no analog stick) and somehow costs like 4 times as much. Even the very similar Hori Fighting Commander is a third of the price.
The loose 5 wires are for if you have to run the wires into the PCB you're using. Assuming your stick has a place for an actual plug, you'll want one of these. It's marginally cheaper to order 5 of them on Amazon than to order a single one from Focus Attack and then pay shipping on top of it.
everyone here is missing the obvious. get american style switches. they have microswitches inside, which you can get loud ones for very cheap, something like this https://www.amazon.com/Boscoqo-V-156-1C25-Switches-Momentary-Replacement/dp/B083K2BCBY
> How do you put art in the fightstick do you do that on the website ?
Certain websites, like focusattack.com or https://paradisearcadeshop.com/ , offer printing services for art that will fit the layout of different fightsticks. As well, more than a few of the higher-tier fightsticks either have transparent covers for art, or you can buy covers from said shops.
> What are some good websites for ordering
See above. Newegg and amazon also sell fightsticks if you can find them.
> Is a 40$ price range doable?
The Qanba Drone is the only "quality" fightstick you'll find for that price, and that['s only when it goes on sale for that much (its regular price is $80). Otherwise your best bet it to save up. $80 and above is the only realistic price range.
Baomain Female Spade Quick Splice Crimp Terminals 2.8mm Crimp Connector Non Insulated 100 Pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQ31H7Z/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_fabc_31TB7NVAYAJPFVB8ETD0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Here's what you need to fix it. Just cut your wire at the end. Strip the wire a quarter inch or so. Stick the wire into the new disconnect and crimp it closed and you're good to go. Also you will have extra just incase you mess up a few or break a few more. Its easy work bud.
IIRC most say a square gate is the best but just like almost everything about fightsticks ultimately it's up to preference. Here's a good breakdown. The plates on amazon are so cheap that you could get the octagonal and switch between to see which one you'd prefer.
If you don't want to worry about upgrading then getting a stick with Sanwa parts is your best bet, so between the three sticks you've put up I would definitely go for the Panthera. The TE models this gen aren't as good as the TE models from last gen so I wouldn't recommend that and I would absolutely avoid the Hori just based on the fact that they use their own custom parts. The Hori parts aren't bad but a stick with Sanwa parts is a "safer" option.
But I would recommend considering the Quanba Obsidian. PS4+Ps3+PC support, Sanwa parts, and from my understanding(I haven't done anything to mine) it's relatively simple to customize. You can't go wrong with the Obsidian or the Panthera really.
That looks like a modification of the cheap generic arcade stick case on Amazon. And there's no way in hell that thing is packing Sanwa buttons.
There isn't anything in that price range that isn't a complete piece of junk. Fightsticks are pretty expensive to make and ship so all the decent budget options are in the $80-$100 range. The closest in budget is the Qanba Drone, but it's pretty small and very limited in terms of modding. The Mayflash F500 is the best option if you want a fightstick since it has a metal case, is heavy enough to prevent sliding around while using, and comes with plexi for easy art modding.
Not sure if it works anymore but I got it from here
For that price you should just invest more money and get a Bit set. This is what i use for my arcade sticks and other miscellaneous gadgets/controllers. Its super handy and great quality ORIA Precision Screwdriver Set (Newest) 106 in 1 with 102 Bits Magnetic Torx Screwdriver kit with Case Professional Repair Tool for Electronics PC iPhone iPad Watch Jewelers Fathers Day Gifts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08998LM9D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0KDX2W5SND79RS85HJ92?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Depending on where it is in the cable you could just splice and reconnect all the wires and tape separately then together with electrical tape then cover with a wire sleeve so it doesn't happen again

Try one of these, its a small usb thing that replaces the ds4
this allows you to use your 360 compatible controller on ps4 games running on ps5: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B82M9TG/
however, to be 100% compatible with native ps5 games, you will probably have to dual mod your stick with a ps5 padhack
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K7Z58L4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_WGBD38Q5KJR2GEZASPYN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 the colors are a tad bit of a different shade but they fit right in. I bought a regular Sanwa 8 way stick and put it in, but I used the original joystick ball and shaft cover because the stick I got had a red top, and I wanted the ball and stick to remain the same color. The only difference is the mechanism on the inside.
The magic boots I saw online only worked for once console, like this one...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078GG93LS
I like that the magic-s works pretty much everything under the sun. That's one of the biggest benefits of the F500 in the first place
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00QM7JUMY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_D26F6N1E8MSVNB9WQC78 Got you covered! This is the basic mayflas F500, its pretty cheap, you can pay slighty more for a F500 elite that comes with sanwa parts up to you tho
Sorry man.. you won't find anything labelled for fightsticks as it's not what they are for really, but anything 5v will work due to the output on the Brook board.
so I bought 2 of these..
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08NT7V28C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This gives you enough individual EL wires to run inside the braiding. But they are battery powered and the transformer is pretty noisy..
So I then bought one of these..
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HQS25ZH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
As this is USB powered.. so just chopped off the USB and wired it to the 5v on the brook board.
I chopped off all the plugs etc too and just soldered all the wires together to save a bit of space.

Not sure if you have a solution to play on the go un-docked/traveling with your box, but Hori makes some stands with USB ports and a charging port passthrough, recommend the 4 Port ($39.99) version. Although there is a smaller 2 Port version for $10 less (See more issues with that one compared to the 4 Port).
Personally have the 4 Port since it came out in 2018 and have had only positives to say about it (Hooked up many items from Smash Controller Adapter, Controllers, etc. with no issue).
for some people it's simply aesthetics either to match their art or an arcade cab they like (astro city or neo geo are a popular ones)
for others it's identifying your main buttons for your main game. so you would have your primary buttons be one color and the macro buttons be another. examples of this would be Street fighter (6 button game see the madcatz te round 1), tekken (first 2 on top and bottom and add the third button on the top row for tag), Guilty Gear & Arcana Heart (5 button games), or the common 4 button layout (blazblue, soul calibur, doa, uni, etc) with the first 3 on top and the first button on the bottom.
Those look like standard philips head screws, just small. If you are gonna play around with electronic stuff I highly recommend getting an ifixit driver kit. https://www.amazon.com/iFixit-IF145-299-4-Driver-Bit-64pc/dp/B0189YWOIO
you need a 5 pin jst xh cable. you can find them in zero delay kits or on amazon
Here you go-
No sanwa buttons but hori's are almost as good and this is a good deal for this stick, which usually retails for 40 to 50 dollars/pounds more. Its also a licensed controller so it should work with ps5 fighting games. You wont find many better deals for less than 100.
If you just want something for PC, use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HSQE7IY/
If you want to spend a little more for PS4 compatibility, use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I0GEDEY/
Both are fairly cheap and easy to modify.
Madcatz te2+ bruh! They went back on sale on Amazon even tho Madcatz went bankrupt. Get one before it becomes a collector item.
Mad Catz Street Fighter V Arcade FightStick TE2+ for PlayStation4 and PlayStation3 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018AW405K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NG2iAb0QAZWCE
ya from what I’ve seen the Raspberry Pi community has been going pretty crazy over these bodies and kits. There are a few issues that prevent the body from being good for competitive play one is size its only like 10.25 inches for the top panel and the main body is even smaller so it may be a little small for lap play, two the lever height is not right its too tall so you may need a spacer for the lever similar to what you can get on the tek innovation cases, three the suction cups need I say more. Things I would do to modify the case is wrap the top panel in carbon fiber wrap because the top panel is finger print magnet, then I would put some of those foam pads that they sell for Makesticks on the bottom to prevent the case from sliding around. Overall they are pretty great cheap cases for hobbyists or for home use here is an amazon link if you guys want to pick up a few https://www.amazon.com/Black-Acrylic-Panel-Replacement-Arcade/dp/B075894V5M/ref=pd_sim_21_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B075894V5M&pd_rd_r=4JM62X7ADB0KNTD2CCT6&pd_rd_w=orHRl&pd_rd_wg=Fkn7o&psc=1&refRID=4JM62X7ADB0KNTD2CCT6
To add to this - there is currently a Mayflash F300 Elite version available on amazon (here) for $90 that comes with sanwa parts. I don't own a stick yet, but afaik this is probably the highest quality entry level stick around now.
I might be wrong but I think when he said Hori Mini he meant that he wants to padhack from one of these:

Damn. Got excited for a moment but didn't think it would.
Don't have a HRAP N, but have modded a few amount of HRAP3's and HRAP V3 SA's. As long as HORI still uses a 5 pin motherboard connector on the PCB for the stock usb cable you can find something like this.
Just double check wiring color order matches and plug in.
What I did after seeing few people posting doing the same for my HRAP3 with stock PCB.
So honestly they're just cheap Amazon buttons.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YJZJWBR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Took some work to get them to click in and I had to use pliers to get the pins to clamp on, but they work perfectly and click like a mechanical keyboard.
It takes more force than the original buttons, but I'm not gentle, so it doesn't effect me.
Hey, thanks! I see these sharp af sticks coming through here and feel like mine is more function than aesthetics.
The board is a Zero Delay from an Amazon kit I picked up for a quarantine hobby. I didn't, and still don't, know the finer details when it comes to boards and buttons.
It was pretty hard figuring out what button spot needed to be where on the board. Then testing it on a RetroPie got even more confusing because RP, the arcade emulator, and each game can have it's own unique config setting. I ended up just getting it working on my PC, but eventually bit the bullet and configured everything on the RP so I could play my 80's-kid nostalgia arcade games.
Oh cool, I have that too. I have sensitive skin, that's one of the reasons I can't play on pad, the d-pad just tears up my thumb.
Don't worry about it though, it's harmless. It will harden up and a layer will flake off eventually. If it bothers you aesthetically and you want it to go away but still want to play then get a wrist compressor like this.
It's pretty damn nerdy but it's also good for the health of your wrist and functional too. Reduces friction and force of pressing your wrist down on the stick's surface. If you do get one I recommend getting one without a strap around the wrist, they immobilize your wrist and it made me uncomfortable resting it.
You can use a USB adapter for your current headset, just double-check compatibility with headset and PS4. I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/DuKabel-ProSeries-Mic-Supported-Headphone-External/dp/B07RS11M1T/
I am using the breakout board that came with the brooks PCB because I thought it’s the only option I have? If I want to use the USB-B port on the Box (I even got a short USB to A cable with the box) where do I plug it in?
Sorry it’s the first I am doing this so I’m still a little confused but I assembled the board alongsidethis tutorial
To plug it into the PC I use the same USB 2.0 Type A to B cable (Linkthat I’ve used for my PS4.
Buy the buttons and joystick from focusattack.com. You will need a pcb biard, i suggest Brook or a cheap PC one, depends on your system, get a bunch if buttons, Sanwa is my choice, you will probably have a mix of 24 and 30 mm buttons. Pick up a Brook 20 pin wiring connection thingy ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083JX5H2B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_RB7J1NNDJCRPZSN29RJY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) Nuetrix pass through and a usb cable, I believe its A to B, 18". Find the wiring diagram from the brook site and its plug and play.
I just recently got the Drone for my PS5 and it's been great! I did upgrade the stick for a little bit more. The drone is under $80 on Amazon right now.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WWPSN1M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share And you'll need this too: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BK12QBG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QJ1JJ7J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_AVVT59N6MNWZDF5DTK18, heres a mayflash F500 elite so it comes with sanwa parts its £112, you can use this for all systems so its a great stick to start with
Brooks makes pretty reliable converters. May want to look at their Wingman series, specifically the XE, designed for PS3 and PS4. (Saw the Mad Catz TE stick listed in supported controllers on Brooks site product listing here.)
https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wingman-Support-Controller-Converter/dp/B08B82M9TG
Not sure if PS5 support can be added VIA firmware update or it will need a HW revision (However have seen reports it works fine on PS5 when playing PS4 versions of games), but assume it's in the works along with getting the UFB PS5 compatible.
Amazon has the brook wingman in stock:
Brook Wingman XE Support Xbox Series S/X/Xbox 360/ Xbox One/Xbox Elite/Xbox Elite Series 2/PS5 Dualsense/PS4/PS3/Controllers on PS5 PS4 PS3 Console Super Converter Gaming Adapter Turbo and Remap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B82M9TG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V2ZMRMPRPD7X9PM1WWY9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks! Real happy with it so far. I'm just using a zero delay pcb since those are cheap compared to brooks ( in my country they cost the equivalent to USD 150.) Cost about USD 10 for me.
Just a normal zero delay pcb. I keep the cord in side the fight stick. It opens up like a box
Cheap Chinese/Amazon Acrylic/Plastic:

Works wonderful when you simply want to use up extra parts you've collected.
This is the charging station I got about a year ago, along with a few sets of these cables. It's designed for phones/tablets, but works great for controllers that don't have thumbsticks.
Mayflash F500 Elite or Hori Real Arcade Pro 4
don't worry too much about native PS5 compatibility, when the time comes, firmware updates, converters, and add-on modules will show up in no time.
Just got an 8BitDo Arcade Stick from amazon for about £80 or so. I love it. Stock parts are pretty good, but you can get Sanwa parts from places like Arcade World UK.
This is what I use on my cases. A few passes at a 45° angle gets rid of the sharp edge, and can be done after assembly.

You need dis: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BLCZDYL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Otherwise, nice collection!
it is a crimp connector your looking for,
**they come in different variations and jaws and do not do the same thing so its very important to get the right one**
The specific one you need can be found Here with the spare crimp terminals to fix your wire.
With that being said if all you wanted to do was get it back working without having to pay then all you ned to do is strip the wire to expose the copper inside and thread it through the push button metal terminal and wrap it around. as long as the connection is made it will work as it should do
you don't even know if you'll like playing on arcade stick yet, so i would suggest going even cheaper
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HSQE7IY/
if you end up liking it, upgrading the parts will be about as expensive overall as the F300 Elite
no reason to spend extra money on something you may not even like
It's from this book that I bought years ago. I'm going to decommission the art and put something else in it.
https://www.amazon.com/SF25-Art-Street-Fighter-Capcom/dp/1927925193
I actually bought in a local online retail store were I live, but managed to find a almost identical aside from the branding on Amazon.
It's the X-Large size one.
It's the switch puller that came in this set. Looking up "mechanical switch puller" on Amazon will find you that model and probably a bunch of better ones.
Ah ok! Amazon: AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male Braided Cable with Lighted Ends - 6 Feet
And for the sake of it you can also check Pexon-PC's for custom braided cables. No LED's though.
Not to push amazon, but this cable would work and any ferrite core for that size cable would be good, i would grab 2 one about 6 inch off the end and one just inside the cable storage area.
The new Hori Fighting Edge has a headphone/headset port as well.
If you watch Amazon Warehouse Deals, you could probably get a Hori Real Arcade Pro N for under $150 (I got mine for $135 a few months ago).
Theres a new mayflash stick called the Mayflash F300 Elite. Its basically the F300 with Sanwa parts. Its on Amazon for $90 right now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CXJ77DT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_F1grBbV49G6DS

If your trying to buy one strictly on a budget but want the functionality that you described, there's the 8bitdo N30 Stick that's on amazon for $60
Great job on this one! it looks awesome!
I´m trying to mod my mayflash f500, I just bought a Sanwa joystick from amazon, but I´m not sure if I need this piece to attatch it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W948IDG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Could you give me some tips on it? thank you!
You can get one of these to save you a lot of time and experimenting: Brooks Ps3/4 to XboxOne Converter. About $43 on amazon.
For you to do the same, you'd have to buy a Brook Universal Fighting Board, which is $90+shipping alone. Then you'd have to put it together. They have prewired kits for $100. It's not bad until you realize you have no home button (never used an Xbox One, assumed it has a home like anything else). Depending if you use the select button or not, you can always wire that to the home button, but switch them back when it comes time to update the board.
The plus side is if you buy the UFB, it'll work on pretty much all the current systems and PC out of the box. Not a bad investment if you plan on playing on different systems. Also the lag on the UFBs are very very minimal, better than some stock sticks according to tests.

The downside is that route gets very expensive. I have built numerous sticks out of older sticks of all kinds, it adds up. My current "Stick" (hitbox made from an old madcatz TE round 1) ended up bring $300+ over time. But it's a fun hobby none the less.
Since you are from Australia like me you will have issues finding good deals. If you are patient try to wait for prime day and get a stick on amazon with prime since the major costs for us will be the delivery fees and added GST. In terms of recommendations, i personally go either qanba obsidian or razer panthera.
The Hori stick is currently on sale and a good deal(not sanwa parts though) if you have prime but i personally wait for prime day for qanba obsidian as that may drop to 138 USD or lower like last year which is about the same price as the current Hori arcade stick.
I have a razer panthera which i bought this year for about 230 AUD but would've waited for the qanba obsidian on prime day if i was patient this year or black friday/cyber monday.

If you are gonna spend bellow 150 AUD most likely suggest qanba drone(evo drone is better) but i personally wouldnt spend money on arcade sticks bellow as they wont either have sanwa parts or you may regret it once u want to get more premium sticks.
Good effort and I know we all gotta start somewhere.
I recommend this to get you started: Amazon Mayflash F300
I started off with this as my first stick: Mayflash Stick
And then I proceed to modding. Good Luck
alright you’re gonna need two converters. https://www.amazon.com/BROOK-GAME-CONTROLLER-SUPER-CONVERTER/dp/B07543W7XS https://www.amazon.com/Gemini-Access-Universal-Control-Converter-xbox/dp/B00012YI14 imo, not worth it. you can get a wii for cheaper and natively do gamecube on it, and use a ps3 controller too.
if you can solder then a Brook Zero Pi (or a broken ps2 controller). if you can't then you may have live with a zero delay board like this
a pcb swap or converter (brook or mayflash magic s pro) would allow you to use it on a ps3 or ps4.
if you are trying to use it as a regular controller to play something like Spiderman for example, you only have one joystick.
the fightstick has a switch to choose between ls/dpad/rs but you can only use one at a time (also that switch is on the left side). Also the joystick is digital so in "analog" mode the inputs are the equivalent of the max values for each axis so no precise control.
you will likely have to custom build something to satisfy this. I would probably go with something similar to this and use something like the analog stick from this if you need the analog stick to be the size of a jlf (or just use the jlf as ls)
Correct. I always try not to pull on the wire but I suppose that’s what I ended up doing like a dumbass.
Even though I do sincerely appreciate your advice, I feel more comfortable actually order new wires. Reyann Zero Delay Arcade USB Encoder Pc to Joystick for Mame Jamma & Other Pc Fighting Games https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UUROWWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Qu3fFb4ERKBN0
mayflash adapter might be the one for you
Brooks also great, but mayflash is just as reliable, and have been around longer.
Any preference between the two (3M vs gorilla?)
Looks like amazon has the gorilla: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082P44MVS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_btf_t1_PYkBFb3JE6R4T
And to confirm, you think the VHB tape would be too thick?
the knockoff ones can be found on eBay, aliexpress, Amazon, newegg, etc. search for the PXN X9.
here is a listing from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Arcade-PXN-Street-Fighter-Playstation/dp/B07ZK9D9WT
that or search eBay for customer returns or parts listings
Hope this helps.
Grey plungers most certainly exist. Hell, the Mad Catz TES+ comes stock with them.
No. only Mayflash f300, f500 and their elite variants can connect to the ps5, but it needs this to do so.
I used one of these to mount my UP5 in the Blunderbuss enclosure and I still got the weird disconnects: https://www.amazon.co.uk/sourcing-map-Adhesive-Standoffs-Plastic/dp/B09NPRF4R6/ref=m_pd_aw_sbs_sccl_8/258-5792048-4602334?psc=1
Yes, and no. You can most definitely fix it, but it won't be quite as simple as just sticking them into the slot.
You can get this from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015Y6JOUG/ I've used the 5 slot connectors from this kit to replace both my Crystal and Obsidian USB connectors, they fit the connector on the board. You'll need a crimping tool if you don't already have one. The kit comes with a large number of the metal connectors that slot into the white connector, you'll need to put one of the end of each wire in the cable and clamp them into the piece.
Alternatively, if you're comfortable with soldering, you could reconnect the cable itself. But that would be trickier as you'd have to make sure each wire was properly insulated from the others after.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081V8G1YX?ref=myi_title_dp
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N66G4HE?ref=myi_title_dp
these work on the f500 theyll probably work on the f300 as well
It’s also not too bad to just bring the controller to your next tourney and save yourself the $30
When I was looking for cheap boxes, I searched "document containers" on amazon. Unfortunately most of the ones I found were in packs of 4. This is what I used for sanwa style buttons: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PHB9JTV
Yes, it's the grey one with yellow buttons! I bought this adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097MXJ1BW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details . Is there any way to get it working with what I have? i wouldn't be surprised if it's a problem with the one I got I didn't do much research I assumed they were all the same. Ill get the one you posted if you think I'm at a dead end with the adapter i have now. Thank you so much for your suggestion i really appreciate it!
Spending money isn't necessarily the problem. It is just that I don't want to buy a second set of the game and DLC especially if there is no way to transfer any progress over.
Just to confirm before I buy it, this is the correct product right?
If you already have a ps5 compatible stick just get the Xbox brook converter and you should be good to play on all current gen systems-
you can add a mini oled screen. they are not included but are not very expensive. soon i will have an option to include the screen. oled

check out the boards listing on my etsy and you can see the oled also.
I used double sided adhesive foam - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0833W1S6P
Just cut them to size then stuck them on the bottom plate. Works pretty well. I did two pieces to make sure the solder points don't touch the metal.
You either want something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VJ37PHH
Or you can go buy some braided paracord and rip the core out of it and run wires through it.
In both cases, it can be somewhat time consuming to get many wires into them without soldering a needle or something onto the wires to pilot them through, thought the first option is probably easier since it's harder plastic.
I spent about two weeks making pro looking cables with paracord, shrink tubing, and crimping jst, quick connect, and idc connectors, they turn out really nice.
It's somewhere between a relaxing hobby and frustrating though, I made many little practice harnesses before getting it correct

This is a cheap Ol' reliable I used that fits the Mpress absolutely perfectly and can slide in my backpack without issue. There is a version with a handle as well. I used the front pocket for cables and think it's a solid product that I think works strangely nice with the Mpress in particular
You can get just a Raspberry Pi Pico and a screw terminal block to wire your buttons to. Then use GP2040-CE firmware.
I have this stick. It's very light and will move on you if you get too, how to say, 'aggressive' with your movements playing a game like Street Fighter. Also, If you've got large hands like I do, you might feel cramped. IMHO, it's suited more for stuff like arcade shooters than fighting games but YMMV.
If it's gonna be your only stick, I'd recommend this instead. It's got some nice weight to it, Sanwa parts and is easily customizable.
You bought the wrong display. the correct one has a different pin layout. the correct display pins are "GND VCC SCL SDA OR VCC GND SCL SDA" the one you have is not the correct one. here is a link to a correct display i know 100% works - oled

I bought this 2 weeks ago for about 60 bucks. It's pretty loud though lol. I put tissue paper underneath the keys, and i ordered foam dampening inserts for the buttons to help with that.
You can use something like this screw terminal connector on the wires to connect it to the pico’s micro USB port

for a hitstick
the easy way to do this is to use the 20 pin harness and wire one set of directional input (either buttons or stick) and wire the other to the screw terminals.
your dad is correct that copper wire will work. you would need to strip the ends and screw them into the terminals and crimp the other end to attach to buttons.
it's an xs-12 5 pin connector. you will likely need to find them in packs on ebay or aliexpress or if you are lucky Amazon
look up tutorials on YouTube for making cables with aviation connectors
you can try flipping the black piece and have the longer pins connect to the jumper wires. or use hot glue.
when I saw this earlier I forgot to mention that whoever made this could have made this a whole lot easier by giving you male to female jumper wires.
