I find myself wanting to post an idea that is not specific to a given browser, and not specific to RES, about ideas for better browsing. It's something one does a lot, too much, no doubt. So why not share tips on how to browse more effectively and efficiently?
Here's one to start: try using snackr and have it scroll the items from your google news feed, or any feeds you want to load into it, across the top of your screen while yoiu do other things. You never know what will catch your eye. It'd improve reddit, too, as you'd see items you'd miss that are not on reddit, but you may wnat ot share.
Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.
What if Harry was a rationalist, and the various villains weren't total evil dumbasses?
So, that thing the main character does in the Cory Doctorow book Pirate Cinema?
> Trent McCauley is sixteen, brilliant, and obsessed with one thing: making movies on his computer by reassembling footage from popular films he downloads from the Net. In the dystopian near-future Britain where Trent is growing up, this is more illegal than ever; the punishment for being caught three times is that your entire household's access to the Internet is cut off for a year, with no appeal.
When I put in the URL, I typed in http --reddit -- /r/light the whole thing. Well, it goes to the home page, which the front page has a checkered guinea pig, and well, that's just gonna stay there until I have the mods change it, thanks for asking.

The prices may seem higher because of the dollar exchange rate. Currently 1 Canadian dollar is worth 75 cents American.
So if something is listed as $78.99 in Canada, it's American price is $59.41. Amazon is usually willing to give free international shipping on items if a certain criteria is met.
Here's a damn good deal:
Canadian Amazon $776.94 USD or $1,032.99 CAD
American Amazon $999.00 USD or $1328.88 CAD
Same product, just using the exchange rate for a better price. Even if shipping was $50, it would still be a better deal for the laptop.
