I had a great experience with my AirPods on my Pixel 2 XL (and now my Pixel 3 XL) Have you tried deleting and re-adding them? Also, I use a utility called AirBatttery, which gives you a popup on Android similar to what you get with an iOS device, with access to battery life and some settings. Link to it here
Use root-only apps (firewall, backups, etc.)
Perform extra tasks in Tasker
Install custom ROMs if that's your thing
Access to the entire filesystem
Several other fine-tuning aspects of your phone
Well dont defile someones socket yet.
I'm going to ask the dumb question but it needs to be said.
Did you un-pair the bluetooth device, reboot phone, then re-pair it?
Do you use the Bose app? Usually thease companion apps over promise and under preform, but you might get lucky with a setting, or firmware update.
This week I was mowing the lawn and my audio kept pausing without me touching anything. Been using this headphone & phone combo for a couple months now, so i'm a little confused. It is possable its the phones update? You could swing in to a Bose store, those guys have a great return process if you can reproduce it in the store.
I just got mine a few days ago and looked into this, as I normally root and install custom ROMs. From a cursory look, it really feels like early days for the dev scene on the Pixel 2 so I have just rooted the stock 8.1.0 ROM using Magisk for now.
I followed the TWRP install instructions here: https://twrp.me/google/googlepixel2.html
Then flashed the latest Magisk beta: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
All working great except for a pop up error at boot.
Better option! Just found this awesome widget that works perfectly to go between ring, vibrate, and silent. It's called STFU and is probably my new favorite
That looks too bulky for my liking. I use a Spigen Thin Fit. It has survived exiting the car, landing on concrete falls. And countless hardwood falls.

correct, the pixel 2 doesn't have wireless charging capabilities. Shady, shady. OP asks you to buy their product on Amazon. Then promises to reimburse you half and the rest (via PayPal) after you leave a review. Looking at the product page, it doesn't mention compatibility with the Pixel 2 at all. I mean worse case, you can use it as a normal portable charger with a USB cable....buyer beware for Pixel 2 users.
Here's the product page for you all to judge.

Get Google photos and then create a shared library. You can make it where everyone can add photos to the library and it's perfect for sharing pictures with family or friends.
You can contact Google support, if needed they will send a replacement model. As for long exposure you can go as far as 4s using open camera app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera
In regards to the battery percentage, I set mine to hover around 65%. I know this is all controversial but battery university says 3.93V/cell is the optimal charge. I downloaded GSAM battery monitor and figured out that around 65% is the optimal percentage for this. I have my charger charge from 63%-65%.
Apparently you are not able to do this, so I was forced to just leave whatever music player I was using onscreen fulltime. With Pandora that was no problem because there is a setting to keep the lockscreen from coming on or to keep the screensaver from kicking in whenever Pandora is playing. Google Play Music unfortunately does not seem to currently have that setting so I ended up having to install a different app to keep the screen from timing out. Might not be the result you were looking for :( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.openappinfo.keepscreenon&hl=en
Yes, I noticed it too. Using GPS Status it would not show any satellites for fixing the location. After restarting the phone it worked instant. Will have to keep an eye on it…
I have tried several and most of them do work perfectly so I started searching for the cheapest one that worked on my Pixel 2 and it turned out to be Call Recorder - ACR
Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nll.acr
I'll answer the last question. Of course. If you're curious about this stuff, you can get this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.ampere
Even better would be to get an external tester.

The part is called the rear glass panel and this fix is something you can totally do yourself. Luckily, the rear glass panel is applied with some adhesive onto the already closed phone so you don't need to open up the pixel 2 to replace it. A heat gun will help in melting the adhesive and removing the glass. I did this repair myself recently and I've never done anything like this on my phone so if I can do it then anyone can.
You can order a replacement on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DTLJY5Q. YouTube has plenty of videos to help you with the repair. This is the one I used: https://youtu.be/WBuwcZ2v_AE.
Good luck!
I promise this app works. I used it on my pixel 2.

Use Toaster or similar to identify which app is sending you that toast notification! Saved me a while back with a similar issue.
I've used SMS Backup+ since I've had my Nexus 5. It worked great until Google changed their API sometime in August. Now you have to create an app password in your Google Security, but once you do that it works just like it should.
It will backup SMS texts and call logs to your Gmail account.
It groups SMS text to/from the same person in batches of 100 texts.
You can search Gmail for them easily and export them from there.

A VPN service is typically provided by a third party (just Google VPN provider). You can host one on your own home network if you wanted to. If you use a third party, they’ll either have an app that you use to connect to their service, or provide you with settings to fill in the VPN settings page native to Android.
I’ve used Private Internet AccessPrivate Internet Access as my provider for years.

Sounds like the proximity sensor isn't functioning properly... the phone doesn't "ignore" the inputs, it turns the screen off when it detects it's up to your face or in your pocket by seeing if there is an object in close proximity to the top of the phone... you could try booting into safe mode and see if it works:
- Press and hold the Power button
- When the menu with "Power Off" appears, press and hold "Power Off"
- You will get a popup asking if you want to reboot into Safe Mode, select yes

If that doesn't fix it or it doesn't work in safe mode, you can download an app to test to see if the sensor is even working: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wered.sensorsmultitool
I don't think it's much different than the glare from the normal screen, but I've been using it a long time now. And it's pretty cheap for a 2 pack (link below). Glass protectors typically offer better protection and easier swiping.
The Spigen glass has some lower reviews now than before--but if you actually read the bad reviews, you can see that most reviewers are ignorant of the phone features (Pixel 2 has curved glass screen edges). Because of the curved screen, glass protectors must leave a tiny sliver around the edge uncovered or it will lift up. But it covers all the viewing screen, and any phone case will protect the rest. The only glass that can cover the entire front 100% have to use a glue dot matrix, but I can't stand that since the glue is viewable.
If it actually does have a problem, just contact the company and they'll send you a new box. My first one had glue issues, and they replaced it without hassle.

So far I've been extremely impressed with the battery life. For the record, I'm coming from a 2013 Nexus 5. The Pixel 2 has a 2700 mAh battery, and the Nexus 5 has a 2300 mAh battery. I keep my brightness around 50%.
I keep WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and IPVanish VPN on 100% of the time. My day consists of about 4 hours of Spotify and Google Maps in two large contiguous chunks (work commute) with screen on for about half of that time. With the Nexus 5, I'd have to keep the phone hooked up via car charger in order to be able use it in between, and it would still lose some charge. With the Pixel 2, the two trips consume a combined 10% of battery off the car charger, leaving about 6 hours of SOT in between before triggering battery saving mode at 15%. I primarily use Chrome, Gmail, Facebook Messenger, Spotify, YouTube, Microsoft Lens, and Slack when I'm at work. The Pixel 2 handles this work flow far better than my Nexus 5 did.
I leave ringer volume at 100% unless I need it to silence. To quickly silence it, press "volume up" and "power" at the same time and it silences it. And I have an app called Shush ringer restorer that turns volume back on after the time you set it. (click the app once to change icon settings and it turns itself on, then whenever you silence the phone it pops up so you can set the length you want to be on silent.)
The contacts thing is part of the phone app update from a few days ago.
Notifications are my biggest issue, I'll get random bursts of notifications and it drives me nuts. I was having a similar issue on Oreo but Pie seems to have made it worse somehow.
Ok so ive tested with this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.sensortest

Gonna raise with carrier support.
Thanks for the help.
Good news! If you don't like the keyboard the phone comes with, you can install a different one. Swiftkey is popular. There's also Fleksy. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syntellia.fleksy.keyboard
I actually just came across an app for this yesterday. It's not released, but it's on the Play Store. It's called CoSy. It doesn't seem as user friendly as Sync.me, but it did the job and I didn't have to upload my contacts to a server.

when I first got the Pixel 2, I I shopped around for extra dongles. Most of the ones I looked at said they were not compatible with the Pixel 2 for some reason.
You can turn a wired set into a bluetooth set with a receiver like this: amazon.com/Antec-Portable-Bluetooth-Receiver-Headphones/dp/B00LS550F6/
I have had the Spigen Neo Hybrid since the day I got my Pixel 2 about 9 months ago. I don't drop my phone that often but I definitely have. It has held up really well.

plug it in the chromebook, plug the usb c to charge, and you have 2 usb-a ports available
im trying this as we apeak, i'm going to connect it to my phone.
fck wheres the hub...
ok found it, plugged it into the phone, it instantly recognized the usb drive i have in the hub for permanent chromebook storage; plugged the power to the other female u sb c port on the hub; phone is now charging rapidly, plugged the usb-a from my earbuds to the usb-a port on the hub and the light on the headphones lighted up, they're charging.
I really like Caseology Vault. Dropped my phone a few times and it seemed to absorb the impact really well. Doesn't add alot of bult or weight. Edges are slightly raised around screen so it doesn't come in contact with surface when placed screen down and potentially scratch
Speaking of keeping it close and protected - I've been using this and it's been wonderful: https://www.amazon.com/Dongle-Dangler-headphone-adapter-keychain/dp/B01MSYT8HH

Expensive, but in my opinion the best out right now it even charges my thinkpad!
Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD with 30W Power Delivery Charger, Portable Charger Bundle for iPhone X / 8, Nexus 5X 6P, LG G5 & USB Type-C Laptops (e.g. 2016 MacBook) Power Delivery Support
The way it charges is odd. There's no reliable way to see the actual wattage/amp via apps like ampere, because something involving the screen being on.
And apparently the way pixel 2s charge, they sort of "ramp up" slower at first, then faster or something.
I did alot od research for a proper car charger that supports this new "power delivery" standard via type C.
Nekteck USB-IF Certified USB Type C Car Charger with PD Power Delivery 45W & USB-A 12W for Macbook 12-inch/ Pro 2016, Pixel 2/ Pixel XL Galaxy S9/ S9+/ Note 8/ S8/ S8+ More(USB-C Cable 3.3Ft Included) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WQQG7C?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I got this...... Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit for Cars with Aux Input Jack (3.5 mm) - Supports AptX https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NLTW60?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
With this device I am able to just connect via Bluetooth instead of aux and free up the USB c Port for charging.
The device works perfectly everytime
For what it's worth- the Whitestone screen protector uses a liquid bonding system that will hide all the scratches and put a real glass protector on your pixel. Works good for me. https://www.amazon.com/Glass-Replacement-Dispersion-Dome-Whitestone/dp/B079HK4KXF/ref=sr_1_5?m=AR9FNVXZMFHKA&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1518641142&sr=1-5
I purchased a Bluetooth FM transmitter for my car awhile back and it's usable. I'm not an audiophile, and if you're not too concerned about audio quality it's pretty nice. My father had borrowed my car for two weeks awhile back and really liked it, considering what it was. After the first week I mentioned it sort of cuts out some of the highs and lows and he was then able to notice it. Audiobooks and podcasts on he other hand sound just fine.
Neat, I didn't even realize such things existed. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work for you.
Though if your stereo has a miniplug aux in, I'd highly recommend going that route instead — I've had great luck with my Taotronics Bluetooth Receiver.
I'll be honest: this is my favorite one. Doesn't fall off, but can be removed whenever without breaking off the buttons. It also covers all corners and just a tiny bit of the screen from some drops. It's easy to clean; and it's cheap. I bought 4 or so of them for various flagships last year, so they're all around the best one for me.

I've had it a few weeks and so far so good. I'm not rough on my phones, but this little case seems pretty durable.
I hear you, its the only thing I don't like about this phone. That said, a friend pointed this thing out and since getting it, I always know where my dongle is: https://www.amazon.com/Dongle-Dangler-headphone-adapter-keychain/dp/B01MSYT8HH
Tried the Zagg glass- waste of money, the perimeter seal is a joke, lets dust get under it and really makes the display look like crap. The plastic ones are okay but the feel is not there and they are fingerprint magnets. I almost gave up until I found the Whitestone Dome- it's glass and 100% seals to the surface- it's incredible and a perfect glass protector for the Pixel. Only issue is it is a very complicated install (liquid adhesive, UV light to cure). I highly recommend it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078JR1HTN/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i got this one from amazon. not super thrilled with it as it shows every fingerprint and has a bit of a haze to it but it's doing the job. i also got a zagg invisible shield one for when this one breaks or i get tired of it.

My boyfriend and I got these protectors for our Pixel 2's. I gather it would be similar performance for the Pixel 2 XL.
My thoughts: I like how they look. They fit nicely over the phone's features and it probably leaves a millimeter of actual screen on each side. The thing I dislike about all of these Pixel 2 screens is that there is only adhesive on the outer portion which results in weird effects (in all protectors created like this). I will say however that the usual 'weird effects' that I get with minimal adhesive screens aren't as bad with this one. I admit to seeing a small rainbow for very short periods of time but this is mostly due to my poor application. I had to rip mine off like 3 times and reapply it because I had dust floating around my room. Strangely enough every time I do that I'm still satisfied with how it looks afterwards. I obviously don't recommend adjusting it as much as I did though because my adhesive started to get wacky and slid. I emailed them to get a warranty replacement so fingers crossed.
My Boyfriend's thoughts: He doesn't like the fact that the protector has a black outlining around it (which I actually like). He says it makes the screen look like it 'pops out'. Otherwise, he had an easy time applying it and it's been working well for him since.
In general I think it is one of the better investments in screens. I think it looks nice and I don't even notice a dot matrix.
Whatever you do, don't get this brand (repeat of another comment) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077N8VKC1
This one looks like crap and gives you a ton of rainbows that literally blocks view of the screen 24/7.
I purchased this one for $13 and it works great. You may see some rainbow effect in direct sunlight but it has not been a big deal for me. For the price it has been a good one for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WW69PS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3QYpAb9YKSK6Q
You can buy metal stickers from Amazon... Stick one inside your case of choice... For example Ozgoe JF-03 Happy Bell Mount Metal Plate For Magnetic Car Mount with 3M Adhesive 4 x Rectangular 4 x Round, Pack of 8 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0190BLT2M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_OnoaAb1C53F8G
I've been on the same hunt myself and have been surprised that there are so few good options if you want to maximize rapid charging capabilities. For rapid charging, the charger needs to support Power Delivery (PD). Very few do, especially on Amazon. Even among the ones that do, some are sketchy and don't conform to the standards (risk damage to your phone). If you want to do it right, search out one that is USB-IF certified. The one you mentioned by Nekteck is (one of very few). I would recommend it, or this version with detachable cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WQQG7C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_je2hAb8M484BE
