You've got me interested. But the article (and the other 2 I just looked at) don't seem to have a link to buy, download or read. They just talk about it more.
Edit: For those interested. I had to change my wording but I found it on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Pervert-Michelle-Perez/dp/1534307419
If you are sick of Twitter, consider giving Mastodon a shot. It's like Twitter, but it's actually in chronological order. It has a 500 character limit, an option to add content warnings, and an option to add image transcriptions. In my experience, it's also extremely LGBT friendly and well moderated.
The whole thing is open source and there's a bunch of different instances that all have different rules and focuses, along with a timeline of all the instances combined.
Male ≠ man
Female ≠ woman
Science recognizes a difference between sex and gender. There are historical precedents (plenty of societies that presented themselves with three or more distinct genders - some based on sex, that considered intersex people a third gender, but some that didn't and recognized the difference that exists).
Sex does define our internals. Trans women (usually) have a prostate, trans men (usually) have an uterus. No one in the LGBT community denies that. And yes, there is a large correlation between sex and gender, approaching 99%.
But this does not invalidate the difference between sex and gender. They are separate aspects of a human, that manifest in varied ways.
Of note, there is a strong indication of a genetical component to being transgender. In identical twins, when one is trans, there's a 33% (AMAB) or 22.8% (AFAB) chance the other is trans as well. This isn't true for dizygotic twins, where the percentage is around 2.6%, slightly higher than the general population.
Source: Diamond M (2013). "Transsexuality Among Twins: Identity Concordance, Transition, Rearing, and Orientation". International Journal of Transgender Health. 14 (1): 24–38. doi:10.1080/15532739.2013.750222. S2CID 144330783.
Honestly, I don't mind. It sucks that trans women receive so much of transphobia, but it's not like I want my AFAB siblings to receive more. We'll hold the line lol. Whenever they do talk about you it's pretty awful.
I actually get about 10 times more mad when people are transmisandrist tbh. Transmisogyny? Eh, just another day. This book? Absolutely fuming.
>So why is this not immediate?

You should read Sam Ashkenas "Sleeping on Concrete." She was raped many times while housed inside a male prison unit with another male for months.

I'm not a cultural anthropologist or gender studies scholar, I've got the same Google you do. If you're serious about finding well-sourced academic articles, starting with Susan Stryker's 2008 "Transgender History" and going from there would be what I'd suggest. Dr. Stryker is a gender studies prof at Arizona.

Also what would this mean for insurance coverage, I am seeing this question dodged. If we remover all classifications then it might give a reason for insurance companies to stop providing it if they have nothing to bill it to.
http://issuu.com/smoodogg/docs/hamblen_co_2 The Mugshot is on page 5, in my experience they usually lead with the charge that caused the issues, whch is as seen there Indecent exposure, THEN disorderly conduct THEN resisting arrest. that took 2 minuites to find. so yes the police corroborate it.
I again point you to the actual arrest mugshot here, which although has ALSO disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, the first reason posted, which usually is the original reason is Indescent exposure. Also resisting arrest usually happens during arrest so was allready. http://issuu.com/smoodogg/docs/hamblen_co_2

>where, exactly, is the dialog between: "I do not want hateful slurs to be used against me or people like me" and "it is totally fine for anyone to use those slurs"?
Not everyone agrees on what constitutes a hateful slur. I happen to think "shemale" (which i fucking hate) is more harmful than "tranny", which many agree isn't as much of a slur as some people make it out to be. But I also have to keep in mind that yelling about how much the word upsets me does little in comparison to actually articulating why it upsets me, which few have done without wrapping up great points in unnecessary mock and satire.
>I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with all your hyperbole about "enemies" and framing the entire conversation as about being for or against one person
You said "...to be directly in opposition of that goal." People who are against you or in direct opposition to you are enemies. re: first definition. Maybe the problem isn't that I'm hyperbolizing, but you don't recognize just how powerful the words you use to describe people actually are. It's a theme in feminism to use strong adjectives to convey a point, but strong adjectives have literal definitions
>framing the entire conversation as about being for or against one person
The piece in question only ever gave one example of an "old guard", so I'm framing the conversation with reference to this single example. There are many others like her, but they are irrelevant, because i find it useless to us the authors definition of "old guard" as a point of debate. It's too vague. At least referencing Addams, we can focus on her behavior and why it sucked.
Probably "voice pitch analyzer"? Its free and you just read out whatever into it and it gives you a score between male-androgynous-female.

The Old Bath Road, the route taken by stage coaches from London to Bath used to pass through the village I grew up in, Twyford in Berkshire. There is still an old staging inn pub called The Waggon and Horses and there is a milestone just like the one in the picture a few yards away on the opposite side of the road :)
I linked to the exact moment in the vid jic y'all don't want to watch the whole thing.
I'll be honest, I really didn't want to post about this as I think we all kind of know what Bill Maher believes towards our community. But, I also felt it should be discussed amongst our community that he agreed with this fact-free, professional troll about the bathroom issue. I also think it's important to show his hypocrisy.
As he discussed earlier in his show last night, Bill Maher is ok with hurting others through his comedy when the facts are on the side of the comic and there's a greater good to be served. Otherwise, it's just a personal attack. In this case, Milo's statements were completely fact free (except in the case of one article I read that stated if looking through the lens of the victims, trans people would be disproportionately affected). Here's a link to someone who did the fact checking.
Edit: Thought I'd add Bill Maher's hypocritical-ish statement earlier in the show:
Instead of smoothies they had kiwifruit MILKSHAKE sweet jesus and I got a three-cheese crepe with spinach and mushroom mmm. They did call it 'kiwi' though, I grew up a few miles from a kiwifruit farm owned by a family friend and they called it kiwi. These guys also had freaking kiwi JAM and I swear if I had brought my bag I would've bought it because it was sickeningly sweet and delicious.
>you don't have kitchen equipment?
I have very limited equipment :( I don't have the griddle that my daddy always used for this. I'll go walk down to Harris Teeter in a few and get some flour and sugar and baking powder and milk. I have local organic honey to put on top though :D Flan is ridiculously simple, it's basically baking eggs and milk. On a different note, nutella was made to go on crepe. I am making pancakes tonight and inviting my friend over who has also been craving pancakes for far too long.
you keep moving the goal posts. apparently hormones (which are often bio-identical or made so by bodily processes) can cause cancer, psychological problems, Alzheimers, questionable "neurological impact", etc. And you have claimed more than once that there are no long term studies of HRT in trans patients, when in fact there are: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=longitudinal+studies+transgender+hrt
I thought you all would enjoy seeing that there is a Trans person representing in the music world. That's Drea on the far left and Brandy in the middle. Here is our reverbnation page if anyone is interested in knowing more about our group and what we represent. http://www.reverbnation.com/SheNSheSounds
Morphology is the form of things. Morphological sex is the form of the body's sexual geography. Neurology is function. A neurologist qualifies form within a neurological context as <em>neuromorphology</em>.
Also: I don't ascribe "mental" in the context of "neurology" — as one is the concern of psychotherapy (an additive approach), the other the concern of physically measurable activity (a subtractive approach).
As you all know, being trans can be really tough. I myself personally have gone through a lot of inner battles and conflicts with not only myself but other people as well. I decided to write a book called ‘Stitched’, which is a unique story about a boy and a girl who are forced to switch bodies to save their country from disaster. I wanted a way to put our struggles into a unique plot that would cause people to think about the world. As time passed by, i have personally been able to look back at situations in myself that i found very tough at the time, like being forced to wear a dress to prom or attend any kind of daily situation in clothes that made me highly uncomfortable, to guys around me making rude comments and constantly making me feel i needed to prove to them that i was a man as well, and laugh. When i wrote these books i was able to include little stories and situations like these ones and show how brave the characters were in the way they managed to get through them. I hoped that other trans people who read my books would get to relate to the characters i created as well and enjoy the read. I am so happy to be able to share these with you guys and if you chose to read them, thank you, It means a lot to me. Here is also a link to the first book if you haven’t read it and would be interested as well, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098R5WYJD
Because the ability to "demonstrate that its*[sic]* legit" is not something that we should aspire to. It cedes the question of whether of not being trans is a thing that ought to be questioned in the first place. Like for instance, do you like cilantro? We can literally do a genetic test for that. Would we deny access to guacamole for anyone that lacks the "it doesn't taste like soap" gene?
> There is no exact definition of what feminism means.
Whelp, there is this:
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/feminism https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feminism
But, your point is taken: an atheist group can be pro/con anything as long as it doesn't involve a belief in god(s).
I think the problem is that groups like TERFs subscribe to the very ideas upon which male supremacy is built: reductive biological essentialism. There can be no male supremacy without an essence-based "male" in the same way that there can be no white supremacy without essence-based "white."
Radical Feminists (ie, non-TERFs) believe that "woman" and "man" are social creations and that biological essentialism is BS. In other words, radfems are apt to assert that the biology of sex is a spectrum that is socially constructed into a binary while TERFs assert there is an essential biological binary from which gender is created.
A radical feminist might say that that male supremacy can't be overcome using the logic that male supremacy is built upon (ie, pull up the problem by its ideological root). TERFs would say that the logic male supremacy is built upon is a given, but that critiquing behavior is where liberation comes from. A radfem might say TERFs aren't feminist because their ideology supports male supremacy whereas TERFs might say radfems aren't feminist because they aren't running around policing everyone's behavior.
Like I said. It is not arbitrary. You can point out that in one way it seems to be chosen without reason, but in doing so you are ignoring exactly what I said the reason was. The reason it isn'the arbitrary, is because it is being select due it's relation to male sex traits. The reason for looking at such traits, is because women and men are already segregated for those reasons, and trans individuals are required to take HRT because of such sexed traits. These are things that are currently being done. It is not arbitrary to say we should extend the treat mentioned trans individuals have to hypoandrogenic women. This is not arbitrary.
Just to clarify, I use arbitrary to mean something without reason. A choice made on a whim, or random. I can guarantee you most definitions you'll find use it similarly.
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/arbitrary
This all being said, if you don't think my reason is good, then explain why it's not. Is it fair that we aren't allowed to have high T when intersex women can? Is it fair that men and women are segregated if intersex women are literally allowed to benefit from the same traits that men do while competing against other women? Do you have good reasons for those. Or if not, do you suggest we don't segregate men and women? In which case you're stopping a lot of women from having a decent chance at winning.
Great article. Not much on Trans behavior. But it's out there too, just probably even less studied. I recommend Joan Roughgarten's book (2015):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F971REM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The book is Sex in C Major by Matthew J. Metzger. My experiences mean I tend to reach for stories about women with trans experiences, but this one helped me connect with that equally precious other side that our trans men go through too <3
Kashimashi (boy turned into a girl) is one of my top 3 favorite anime shows. It has a real powerful ending so long as you don't watch the ridiculous OVA.

Transgender women’s performances generally decline as their testosterone does. But not every male advantage dissipates when testosterone drops. Some advantages, such as their bigger bone structure, greater lung capacity, and larger heart size remain, says Alison Heather, a physiologist at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Testosterone also promotes muscle memory—an ability to regain muscle mass after a period of detraining—by increasing the number of nuclei in muscles, and these added nuclei don’t go away. So transgender women have a heightened ability to build strength even after they transition, Heather says.
> But really, at this point I'm done arguing with you. You haven't said anything worthwhile in a very long time.
Pathetic.
> And yes, we do know that it's contributing to her performance... based on her performances when we had upper limits in place for testosterone levels.
Thus proving my point that you have no comprehension of what I was arguing, because to your above statement I say, so what?
> The only conclusion from that is that sex hormones are the biggest factor in performance difference between men and women.
Lol. There is no "conclusion". Going from the many articles that I've read, there are just two studies on testosterone's effects on performance, one of which shows a significant overlap in male and female ranges of testosterone. There is an obvious lack of data on the subject, yet here you are, with your opinions, claiming that you know exactly what's what and how athletes should be regulated. Do yourself a favour and read widely on the subject, then you might, just might, not look so foolish.
So far this is the only English news site that has covered this atrocity. If you understand Russian, feel free to read this article by Meduza as well.
This actually reminded me to check my account, and although it showed my name (it's linked to my facebook) the email address and gender hadn't updated.

I found an old email from them with a "contact us" button and was able to get in a text chat with one of the customer service reps in minutes and they made the change.

You can find the page here. Under the "Customer Service and Support" heading select "Contact Us". Then just select options until you see a blue button that says "I still need help" in the bottom right corner and that will open a chat with a rep.
I'm currently using this site in order to help get my weight down while I try to do excessive cardio at least once a week.
What you have to do is go for time rather than intensity. If you run at for at least 50 minutes, your body starts taking nutrients from your muscles in order to maintain proper function.
> Reductionism: the practice of analyzing and describing a complex phenomenon in terms of phenomena that are held to represent a simpler or more fundamental level, especially when this is said to provide a sufficient explanation. This can be said of objects, phenomena, explanation, theories, and meanings.
"your objection sounds like an ableist ad hominem attack on a 11 years of content and numerous authors." is a reduction of the argument to a one line, poorly thought-out, ill-supported statement.
>martyrdom: a display of feigned or exaggerated suffering to obtain sympathy or admiration.
You legitimately (or illegitimately, it may have been you trolling me, in which case, congrats you are a master) said "you want all those voices silenced". Poor you. I said I was surprised the site wasn't banned. I never called for its ban. But the fact that you think not having the ability to support your platform in /r/transgender for perpetuating fear and hate in the trans community is "silencing" is laughable and a seriously callous and inconsiderate statement given that real silencing actually exists in the world. Boohoo.
I'll leave you with this. Good night! I hope the crab bucket of trans activism treats you well.
Vanity is based on appearance and the love for one's appearance. This to me is a medical need to the child.
Now if they took her for plastic surgery to get a face-lift then I'd agree with you.
But I do understand the point you're trying to make.
Yeah, it's a problem with Office on Windows :/ I have another copy which is compatible with OSX but you can't "click" on the links (just copy/paste them and you'll be fine).

Guys, stop being mean to TERFs, you're hurting their feelings. :'( Can't they ignore the actual evidence and cry about "misgendering being illegal" in peace??????
The moment a definition is in MW, that’s evidence it has widespread acceptance. The fact that other sources might not acknowledge that doesn’t negate it.
Your whole game here is to attempt to discredit any source that disagrees with you. You are clearly not here in good faith.
> books
Many children’s books today acknowledge the existence of non-binary people and they/then pronouns. Another book I had in mind is Strangeworlds Travel Agency.
You really need to understand that whatever intellectual battle you think you’re fighting here, you’ve already lost it. They/then is here to stay and all your appeals to supposedly higher authorities won’t change that.
Good question :)
I haven't read the book yet, but from an excerpt on Amazon it seems non-gender specific, also identifying transgender men in the opening questions.
If it isn't broad enough to include half the potential audience, i don't know how the publisher would have let that omission get through the process.

This article is nice. It's very cursory and easy to understand. For some more extended reading on the subject
What do you mean by theory? In these videos, I am more documenting my own practice than offering formal lessons.
A lot of the method im following is from CandiFLA's videos. In each video, I do a brief introduction, than another reading from The Art of War. Im using videos for my practice to give myself motivation to work at it and to document the practice. I might eventually have 100+ videos up, documenting every minute from the first scratchy falsetto to final true voice.
