Not according to this:
https://hootsuite.com/resources/case-study/five-guys-case-study
> The Five Guys online strategy—led by Online Marketing Specialist Kenneth Westling—relies primarily on social media for the bulk of their promotional activities, as well as customer service and public relations. ... > Encourage employee participation on social media
So, yeah.
Don't shoot the messenger. Just passing along what I thought was good news. (BC Tech Association is a not-for-profit industry association for those that don't know.)
Here are the job links in the "article":
Cool. Constant updates are best. Try and mix in some information about health, such as lower heart-disease risk from eating veggies, lower obesity rates, lower and then back-linking to the restaurant's website. If you can interview local doctors, PAs, nurses, etc, can link those on Facebook, youtube, twitter, Instagram. Hootsuite can link all the social media platforms for you, so you just use that and post to all the sites at once and you can schedule posts out via Hootsuite, too. Basically, you can create a bunch of social media campaigns in one day and schedule them all out for like twice a week for the next few months.
I've been thinking about this....
I'm a software engineer...
So, it would be possible to AUTOMATE this...
First, if you aren't using existing Social Automation tools, you should check out: https://hootsuite.com/
With this tool, you can type one message and cross post to multiple platforms.
Second, I've been thinking of building a guerrilla platform where you could automate posting YOUR message using your SUBSCRIBERS accounts. It would work like this:
Application / system outline: 1.) person visits site, and creates account. 2.) person opts -in all their social media accounts, FaceBook, Twitter, Google+, Email, whatever.
Elaborate: Subscribers provide their social media accounts, in an opt-in, WITHOUT giving away passwords (the authentication happens via the social media platform, so you don't get their password, but they grant you permission to post, and the media platform validates) SOrry it's technical, but if you want to read about it's called OAUTH2
3.) Provide some kind of throttle or limit (time, # of posts etc) so as to not slam people accounts more than they want, OR maybe have a 'veto' option where if there is no override within a time frame it goes out automatically.
4.) Usage: Mike Cernovich would post an 'EMERGENCY' message, and click 'send', and each subscribers social media account receives a copy of your message, and it gets posted on their media.
5.) Usage two: You post articles, and 'stuff', and the user community ranks / upvotes the article and after a time it gets sent out.
This is something that could be built pretty fast (couple of weeks) but gonna cost some money for me to do that.
(Unless somebody else has built this!) I don't know about.
Hootsuite literally builds data monitoring apps with CCP companies like Tencent. But not a word here about that.
https://hootsuite.com/newsroom/press-releases/hootsuite-strengthens-presence-in-asia
But whatever Muh Drumpf.
Surprised https://hootsuite.com/ isn't on the list.
Amazing free tool to manage facebook, twitter, instagram on one dashboard and even schedule up up to 30 instagram posts at a time free to post. (It does the posting for you if you have it set as an instagram business account)
Hey dude - you can only really engage with people on the desktop version, and can't post stuff. Although there are some services like Hootsuite that allow you to do this, I think? I'm not sure though as I've never used them. I mainly manage uploads etc on my mobile, which isn't too much of a struggle. I have got 3 pages though, and can see that it might become annoying in the future for sure.
Thanks!
Hello from Hootsuite! If you are managing a number of social profiles on behalf of different clients have you considered becoming one of our agency partners? Hootsuite actually started out of an agency in 2008 and we try to stay close to our roots and help agencies as much as possible. We launched our partners program to be able to provide the best Hootsuite experience as well as dedicated support and VIP service.
If you haven't checked it out already, here is the link.
Three links are given for jobs:
The BC Tech Association is a non-for-profit industry association. I assume the latter two are big commercial sponsors of the organization.
Look into https://hootsuite.com
You attach all your social media accounts to it, you create a post, and choose where you want it to be posted, all from hootsuite. I believe you can also schedule posts as well. I never used it but my ex did for her gym and it seemed to work pretty well for her.
I think you should have one person manage social media, or at least have everyone on the same page.
I do all all photos, videos and post on social media for my gym so there's no confusion.
I don't think every post has to be replicated every where, you can repeat or simply link for example if you have a core website/ facebook/ twitter/ indieDB/ g+/ devblog.
Your main website and indieDB would only need updated with major milestones (alpha, beta, demos, release).
Your devblog would take up most your time as you write about what you have worked on, though you can then link to these articles elsewhere and I find most people post weekly or every two weeks and that's enough.
Your twitter can be your main dumping ground for screen shots, linking to your updates on other platforms (like your blog) or chatting with others in the community. You can easily setup twitter to automatically post to your facebook page as well as G+ :)
It's still a bit of a time sink but if you manage it correctly it won't take more than a few hours a week. While this is a couple of hours away from your game it could lead to inspiration, feedback and later more coverage.
I don't use any tools for social networks myself but I know something like Hootsuite could help!
Thanks for mentioning Hootsuite! OP - You indicated you only wanted opinions from those in similar situations. I won't say anything about us except, with that many stores, you're likely looking at Hootsuite Enterprise. I'm more than happy to show you around. Please PM me if you'd like.
When it comes to a content strategy for local retail brands we've seen great success when central marketing teams provide a steady flow of approved content to post and then the local managers add their own posts that are more focused on their area.
Brands often have local social accounts b/c they want local customers to follow them for news and information about their closest store. By enabling your local team to schedule content (that must be approved and meet brand guidelines) you can leverage all your resources effectively to meet the expectations of your followers.
I hope that helps and wish you best of luck on your social endeavours!
This is pretty great. You've combined two of my favorite things. Social Media Analytics and Video Games. I work for Hootsuite and we have a lot of Desitny fans here. Definitely sharing this around. Great job!
Spammers don't read.
Spammers fire up Hootsuite, load it up with add-ons, and spam the shit out of every network they can hit with a couple mouse clicks.
Because I could for free, I done got me $1500 worth of social media strategy certification. This allows me to say that SEO is a low-effort numbers game with conviction and authority.
you might consider "experience marketing" -- i.e., putting together events and posting them to national/local event calendars (www.eventupload.io) and using social media (https://hootsuite.com/ or https://bufferapp.com/) to drive traffic to your location. once you've increased your foot traffic, you can improve your conversions through traditional pricing, POP, etc strategies.
.
events allow you to leverage your (extant and expanding) expertise. for instance, if you know soil or foliage better than anyone in your area (40+ miles), then perhaps you should be creating workshops or seminars (weekly/monthly?) to discuss soil reclamation or plants on mornings/evenings where you're at your slowest (or perhaps it makes sense to schedule the events for when you're busiest, so you can "market" the event to passersby).
.
in other words, leverage what you already have (not lower prices) to drive more traffic to your business and study tactics to help capture a larger share of your customers' wallets/minds/hearts. events are a great way to do this and there are awesome tools to help you get the word out quickly and keep the word out.
Could possibly help if you have the links in another format than in the website.
Website parsing is not trivial and usually requires third party libraries or extensive string manipulation.
Also, the difficulty increases if the website is run through a CMS.
On the other hand, if the website is backed by a CMS and you have direct access to the content database it could simplify the task.
IMO this would still be a bit much for a beginner.
Is the website run through a CMS? If so, maybe the CMS has a twitter integration library that you can readily use.
Other than that, maybe IFTTT or Hootsuite, or similar services can help.
Hootsuite Pro includes 50 social profiles and you can upgrade it to go up to 100. For more information on what's included in Pro and why it rocks, check this page.
We also use have a free trial for 30 days you can check out. Generally what I tell people is to try everything and explore your options and stick with what works best for your individual needs.
Hope that helps!
Did you get any clue? Maybe too late but here's some that I've seen:
I often hear people who wants to learn English saying "Want to learn them through something I like, like music", so I think there's many people who gets interested in you including ones looking for the lessons for one's kids. That's pretty damn original!! Hope some of these helps!
Great advice from /u/enterprise_is_fun - I agree with everything they've said BUT I think you're ready to launch NOW.
The single most important thing about a website is how it performs. The BEST way to figure out whether or not it does, is to start sending traffic there.
You've got your Google Analytics set up, great start. Make sure you can track what your visitors are doing on your site. Set up a heat map overlay (Sumo or HotJar) so you can see exactly what they're doing.
Change the website as you go. That's the beauty of being online. You CAN change something if it's not working. But how do you know if it's working if no one is going there?
Your photos are amazing. GET THEM OUT THERE. Post a photo to Instagram and Facebook EVERY DAY. Grow your audience. Set aside a couple of hours and schedule posts for the next 2 weeks (Hootsuite).
Don't be afraid. It's time to start.
Just search "free RSS feed directories". Tons will turn up. Find the ones that show off your niche best and you should be good.
I put everything on StumbleUpon. It doesn't take long to do and will keep constant traffic rolling in. Also, I know I've said our bounce rate is likely because of this traffic, but we've also acquired subscriptions to our email list from some of it. So it's still helping out.
Social media is tough because you need to figure out which works best for your audience and then develop a marketing strategy. I highly encourage HootSuite for making your posts because of the short-link generator for Twitter, the ability to create feeds and watch them all in one place, and for the statistics they give you. Also, it's free. Not much better than that.
Oh, they also have Podium which is a site by HootSuite that teaches you how to use social media better. It's also free and really well structured.
If you haven't tried a lot of social media yet, make a page for everything. At least Twitter, FaceBook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Use HootSuite to make your posts but structure each one to display in a manner that's supported on that medium (a Twitter post doesn't look as good on FaceBook, etc...). Use HootSuite, Google Analytics, anything that can tell you how your posts are doing. Decide which ones would be worthwhile and then stick to those. There's no sense in wasting your time somewhere that you and your audience don't frequent.
Something like https://hootsuite.com/ but not designed for the social media content managers, but the actual users? Yeah, that might work. Cross-platform interactions would be nice, no need to add all the same people on a shitload of websites etc.
We use Hootsuite at my agency, it allows you to pre-schedule. It also has some powerful features that will help you accelerate your social marketing. Here's a link to their free version. https://hootsuite.com/plans/free
There are a bunch out there, just google "free social publishing tools".
Hello from Hootsuite /u/allinfinite (I work at Hootsuite). It actually sounds like you'd be a pretty great fit for our agency partner program. It's specifically designed for people like yourself that manage multiple clients but needed more options and reporting capabilities.
Check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
Hootsuite just released a library of free courseware. If you're a super advanced already, it might be too elementary. It's beginner and intermediate stuff. https://hootsuite.com/podium
Lol, what a backhanded advertisement. Look, if you want to advertise your service which may be useful to us, just do it, don't label your topic like you are looking for something else. YouTubers are technically advertisers ourselves, we can spot an advert like this from a mile away.
Anyways, to answer your question, if you are really interested, there are social network aggregate sites that allow you to schedule and manage multiple accounts of the same or different social networks at once. One free example being hootsuite.
Hi there. Hope you get some good feedback from the community. There are a number of users of both those tools in this subreddit.
Full disclosure, as my tag says, I work for Hootsuite. Found your message using the social listening in Hootsuite. We also have a deeper listening tool called uberVU.
If you're open to other suggestions and want to check out our social listening and management capabilities, I'd be happy to show you. Feel free to message me here.
You should be spending a large chunk of your time focusing on spreading it around all corners of the web.
Social media is the lowest of all “hanging fruit" because it can be done by you, and for FREE. Tons of people are waiting to discover you, but YOU need to make that happen, and it won’t just magically happen on it own.
Some tools to help you I suggest (no affiliate links):
Hootsuite: to help schedule and re-schedule your content on the big 4 social platforms so that you get max juice out if it. You want to share the things you write more than just one and done.
GrindZero: to help you expand onto 15 social platforms and create you a system/routine of best practices to follow.
F5bot: to help you get notified in realtime in beneficial situations, such as if there's a new post/thread based on your niche/keyword(s), or if your name or brand get mentioned. You can then jump in and engage and (sometimes) promote yourself.
Cheers 🍻
Decide on a target audience. Look at popular accounts with similar audiences and see what they do. Find out what keywords and hashtags are popular with this audience.
Identify something people in this audience want, or a problem they have (or think they have), and think of content that can help them (or they think can help them).
Make content ahead of time and use a tool like HootSuite to schedule daily posts at the times when your audience is most active.
Network with other content providers.
Read books (there are a lot of free ones if you use the Kindle app).
Good luck!
You either have to give the VA your username and password or signup for one of the social media management platforms like HootSuite and use the system's integrated security/permissions features (preferred).
If your account is a business account, you can use a service like Hootsuite to do uploads. They have a free service but the signup for it is hidden https://hootsuite.com/plans/free-options
I'd recommend working through the steps in this help desk article https://help.hootsuite.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000061827-Add-an-Instagram-account-to-Hootsuite
If that doesn't work, reach out to customer support at hootsuite.com/help or on Twitter at @hootsuite_help.
I found links in your comment that were not hyperlinked:
I did the honors for you.
^delete ^| ^information ^| ^<3
Yes, look at Hootsuite. You have to have your account set as a business account but you can do it.
EDIT: They have a free plan as well: https://hootsuite.com/plans/free-options
Pretty sure you can also do this via Facebook as well. I haven't tried their tool since it was first launched however
How many social platforms are you talking to needing to connect to at once? Hootsuite isn't free, but would do what you want it to do.
Here are the Hootsuite Plans . They may have different plans for education..
I'm not sure if it has all of the platforms you're looking for, but check out Hootsuite. Their free plan is pretty generous and makes posting content super easy.
It really helped me cut down on my time spent posting by using their platform on my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
And my reply to question two is: Why not? If you can do it quickly and have time to pop in and be active on the platform every once in a while, what's the harm?
Hey, sorry to hear about these troubles. Have you connected with our customer support team? They can be reached on Twitter at twitter.com/hootsuite_help or online at hootsuite.com/help . They should be able to help you with your issues (the image issues especially).
Hi u/IndyPilot80, this help desk article may help you with this: https://help.hootsuite.com/hc/en-us/articles/204586030-Shrink-links-and-customize-link-previews
If you need further assistance our customer support team can be reached online at hootsuite.com/help or on Twitter at @hootsuite_help
Hi there! This help article may be of good use to you: https://help.hootsuite.com/hc/en-us/articles/204586000-Attach-and-edit-images

If the tips in the article don't work I'd recommend reaching out to our support team at @hootsuite_help on Twitter or through our webpage at hootsuite.com/help. Thanks!
The main page is for businesses but it looks like they still have free account options:
https://hootsuite.com/create-free-account#/
You can only add 3 social media platforms though, but that should be enough to handle your insta and twitter and one other platform if you use a third.
Unsure if you can use it for discord, but Hootsuite is great for social media scheduling.

There's 1001 softwares out there for social media scheduling, some free. I definitely do not recommend custom writing that program, as the APIs for social media platforms are complex and the developer programs to be able to use them are convoluted and exclusive.
No problem.
We were making and selling wooden sunglasses. Got to around 10k subs, but we ditched the business after 1.5 years, as we were not making any money due to very slim profit margins. First business, haha. Din't even calculate the product costs and competition before starting... But lots of good experience which got me into marketing, sales and SEO.
Hootsuite is available as an app and as a webpage, where you can log in, add your social media and schedule posts. https://hootsuite.com/
I was running it for a year, but really working on in six months. So grew 100-10k in six months. The first 2-3k was mostly from following / unfollowing.
I like these three tools - Social media scheduling and management - Hootsuite https://hootsuite.com
Designing tool - Canva https://www.canva.com
Analytics tool - Vaizle
https://vaizle.com
I haven't tried this myself but I believe Hootsuite seamlessly connects your social media (FB, Twitter), unsure about LinkedIn. Their platform allows you to schedule, monitor and create content and view analytics. Pretty sure it is free for your first time use for one company.
I have an account on Hootsuite. On this app I can create columns that will filter content from twitter. Each column with a search. For babymetal I create two columns: one with the word babymetal and the other with babymetal_fanart. You can create columns with hastags too. These columns auto-refresh too.
Listening to: Pandora's Young Summer station. It's electorchill. I realized recently I am my mother. She listens to smooth jazz. I listen to same thing but with a beat. Lol.
Watching: Been watching this show on Netflix about great thinkers of the 20th Century. It's 3 episodes long. I cannot recall the name. It covers Einstein, Marx and Nietzsche. I didn't study strict philosophy in college so they're thinkers I know little of. I did study philosophy of science, cool stuff.
Reading: Does it count if I'm doing a 'workbook' of sorts. I'm working through The Conquer Kit by Natalie MacNeil. I follow her on FB. I'm using her strategies to upgrade my business and bootstrap a startup.
Spending my extra time: Honestly? I have very little free time. I'm learning social media marketing. So I'm spending a lot of time on gardening forums on FB, trying to gain followers on IG, and learning twitter. I don't tweet, I don't get it's appeal but it's a great resource. For those interested in social media marketing check out https://hootsuite.com/education
They are different platforms with different user base.
Community building I would suggest Reddit and Slack
Twitter for quick updates.
You could pretty much aggregate the same information from twitter on Facebook.
you can use something like https://hootsuite.com to aggregate social media messaging. There are plenty of platforms like hoot suite.
I know Sky sucks but generally speaking, they probably use software to manage their social media accounts and the software can send out timed tweets/posts. Its pretty common.
One example is https://hootsuite.com/
First up, it doesn't really convert anything to a podcast - just an audio file. Which is fine, but let's be honest with each other, there are a few more steps until that audio file is a podcast.
You need instructions. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the fuck was going on. A live tutorial would be great - something like Hootsuite have, to run you through the process.
Email and Google are probably enough, but I expect to see Facebook there as well.
On the home screen, I want to see items I've previously converted (pulling the featured image from the original blog/article would be a great visual).
The design ... well, there isn't a design yet.
I, personally, dislike both other names. They don't mean anything to me. Blog2Cast is, at least, self-explanatory.
Seems like the actual mechanics of the service are working. I picked a blog, converted it and downloaded it. I assume that's all I can do because that's all I could find.
So for the promoting I have heard about https://hootsuite.com/ , http://buffer.com and http://social.marketingandnetworkinguniversity.com did you include a similar type thing but just a company I am unfamiliar with?
I was looking for something similar for a while but gave up when I found Hootsuite. It's not an API but it works for my purposes.
The feature you'd like is that it is a single place from which you can post to several social media accounts simultaneously. If your blog is WordPress based, there's probably a plug in you can buy to achieve what you want.
I think Hootsuite is about the best known and is pretty user friendly, plus there's an app which is free too. There's the ability to bulk post - but it's not available on the free versions.
Check out Hootsuite. I haven't used it myself, but I believe you can schedule posts to essentially any social media site including Instagram.
It's a paid service but looks like there's a free version as well https://hootsuite.com/plans/free.
I agree with what everyone else said but since you're a novice in social media type marketing, I highly recommend the free courses from HootSuite to give you some context that will give you a foundation to build your knowledge on. There are likely 1,000 different ways to help them be successful on social media but it's important to be strategic and thoughtful about it so you can measure what works and abandon what doesn't.
The great thing here is that people who are into vaping and weed and things like that are very passionate about it. All you will need to do is post cool stuff and give them a reason to come into the shop and the rest will happen naturally.
I really like SproutSocial - it handles Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, G+, Instagram. It also lets you connect to feedly accounts and provides pretty decent analytics. It also has a simplified mobile app that's pretty useful for scheduling and monitoring on the go.
HootSuite is pretty popular but, at least in my opinion, isn't worth the money. They charge extra for EVERYTHING. You have to pay to add someone else to access your account. You have to pay to generate analytics reports, and on top of that, they're insanely region locked. I've had issues logging in from a coffee shop down the street, so it's definitely no use for travel. Other services are must more cost efficient - HootSuite's pricing looks appealing, but it's misleading.
Thanks for thinking of us and Hello from Hootsuite. I like to think we have a pretty great platform for social selling. As you get started, definitely take advantage of Twitter Lists and targeted listening for engagement opportunities. I find brands that engage with people are much more likely to have an impact that sharing content alone.
If you're interested in learning more, I definitely recommend checking out one of our articles on creating a Social Selling Action Plan.
Feel free to also contact me. Social Selling is a topic I'm quite interested in.
Hello from Hootsuite OP! Good luck on your search to get into the digital field. I can't recommend enough how important and easy it is to use social networks (mainly Twitter and Linkedin) to reach out to managers at companies your interested in. If done correctly, it can show you understand the market and stick out from the pack.
If you're a quick learner you can absolutely learn to use any social media management tool. Keep in mind, they are all designed to be used by marketers and other non-technical positions...not developers and IT professionals.
Some are significantly harder to use and learn than others (They know who they are). Just keep your fingers crossed it's a company that uses Hootsuite. With 10 Million users and 744 of the Fortune 1000 companies using Hootsuite odds are pretty good.
FYI Hootsuite Enterprise is our highest level offering. With over 120 integrations that do everything from tracking buying signals to monitoring for regulatory compliance, there's a lot that can be added into Hootsuite. :)
PREACH. I just recently started code school, on top of my normal job and an internship. The days are not nearly as long as the nights.
But I do social media management at my job, and would be lost without https://hootsuite.com/. It consolidates all your social and lets you schedule updates for everything. Like schedugram, but for everything!
If it is majorly affecting your business/sales, I would hire someone to manage all of your social media. I also reccomend trying platforms like Social Bro and Hootsuite - https://hootsuite.com/ http://www.socialbro.com/
https://hootsuite.com is what many larger businesses use nowadays, but there are also many free apps out there that can accomplish the goal.
Personally, I find hootsuite especially helpful for managing multiple social media accounts (I'm in charge of over 5 different Facebook pages), as opposed to cross-posting to Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn.
There absolutely are! Here at Hootsuite (Read: I work at Hootsuite), we work with our partner, NexGate to search for all social media accounts tied to your brand name, and help clean them up. It's a pretty amazing tool. It can even monitor in real time so if a non-authorized account appears, you get notified and can work to get it taken down.
At Hootsuite, we also have a team here than can do a social media audit and go through all current accounts to see what's out there. Feel free to PM me if you need any more information or an intro to the NexGate team.
There are apps that help schedule your content. Here is some recommendations that use a 'freemium' model:
Social media marketers are usually "team buffer" or "team hootsuite". Both are very similar in what they offer, so its more of a personal preference thing. You should try all the different ones out there and choose which one you like best. As for Facebook, you're better off scheduling your posts on the actual Facebook page itself, it'll look more visually appealing. I'm a social media marketer, so if you need help I'm happy to chat:)
Hello from Hootsuite and happy Friday. Hope you get some good feedback! If you ever want to chat about Hootsuite Enterprise or our listening platform uberVU I'd be happy to connect you with a fellow owl to see if it would be a good fit for your company.
There's a lot of work happening in Vancouver right now. Calgary has a good startup scene too. If you're out east: enjoy the beer and the music, you're on your own.
EDIT: If you're not already, I'd suggest following TechVibes, they have a pretty good ear on the ground, especially out west. If you're in Vancouver, look at HootSuite. They're muscling in on the marketing space where ML is most useful.
I think your mistaken, the Pro option has a free 30 day trial where you can sign up 50 social accounts + analytics, etc, but the normal 1 with 3 accounts is FREE !!
Check it: https://hootsuite.com/plans
While I'm not aware of systems that specifically route content through an automated filter prior to publishing, there are a number of content management systems that already offer fairly robust governance processes (such as separating content creation from content publishing, or requiring review of content prior to releasing content for publishing).
These range from simple execution such as Hootsuite's permissioning + "double approval" steps (https://hootsuite.com/products/platform/social-media-security) to more comprehensive tools such as Sprinklr (as well as Shoutlet, Adobe, Sprout, and other established tools).
Ok I found it. Apparently that is a paid feature in HootSuite. https://hootsuite.com/plans
However, I found a way around it for either HootSuite or TweetDeck. You can sign up for a throwaway Twitter account to do all the authentication yourself and add all the accounts that you need, then give out the password to the throwaway account. Since all the accounts are pre-authorized via OAuth tokens, the password is safe. The worst that can happen is someone could hack the throwaway and spew spam or such onto your linked accounts. At least the password will be safe. However, you will need an email address to create a new Twitter id, which is easy.
However, if you try to re-add the account, you will go through a lot of trouble because the services might say the account is already linked:
xxxx has already been added by another HootSuite user. Please add a different social network.
So you will have to de-activate the application and probably go through a bunch of other rigmarole.
I tried to set up HootSuite but I messed up and signed in with Twitter (or rather they messed up) and now am unable to log in because both accounts say they are managed by another account! What a mess! I tried to create a new account, but THEN I wasn't even able to change my email to my company because it said there was already an account for it, which I can't get into!!! I even tried reset password but it would not send an email! It was a frustrating steaming pile of mess. I set this up with TweetDeck though and now I'm able to see the account I want to control, so I can give out the buffer.
