I thought this was bollocks, but apparently it's true:
http://mashable.com/2014/01/31/katy-perry-twitter-50-million-followers/
> A "fake follower check" on StatusPeople.com reports that 34% of Katy Perry's followers are fake, based on data retrieved from her first 50,000 followers, which isn't necessarily a fair assessment. But in November, StatusPeople conducted a deeper dive and discovered 42% of "33,000 followers across her first 1.25 million followers" were fake. Katy Perry isn't the only one facing this issue; at its core, this falls on Twitter's shoulders to fix.
Hey, do you think you could give me a bit of your time to talk about it? I just would want to talk one on one so can tell me what would make it good or suck. https://calendly.com/nate359/interview-about-twitter
IFTTT is the best option for this, I'd think.
This recipe will get you a digest of any name you put in: https://ifttt.com/recipes/212380-get-a-daily-roundup-of-tweets-by-your-favorite-peeps
Or you could create your own recipes for each user.
Mine seems fine. There's a few proxy downloads lurking online as well, so you might want to "update" your version- will post a link when I'm not using my phone!
EDIT: Old versions are (appropriately) stored at oldversion.com here: http://www.oldversion.com/TweetDeck.html
With images you should be able to just tap and hold on the image > from the popup menu choose save to camera roll.
Downloading videos seems to be more involved, perhaps look into iOS shortcuts or IFTTT ?
I use this applet from Twitter! You need to install the app tho but it works like a charm for me. Just specify which username you want updates from. (But I changed mine so that it would text me instead of email)
I'm going to say either Twitter employee insider (they will never admit this) or a common app authorization that was compromised and allowed to post on their behalf. At least one of the compromised accounts likely has 2FA enabled, can't wait to see how they explain this one.
Imagine making a cool $57k and counting a matter of minutes.
Stock price falling in AH, lulz.
I'm not going to say that this web page is bad designed, if you didn't copy the design from another page or if you didn't use a template, then good job. But let me point some things about your web page (because I assume it's yours by looking at your username).
And if anyone is interested in this unethical way to get Twitter followers, there are free sites to do that, just Google it... Don't try to tease people like this...
EDIT: Formatting.
It's hidden. But still there:
https://twitter.com/#!/username/following/people/you_both_follow https://twitter.com/#!/username/followers_you_follow
Some apps will feature this more prominent, but on the web it's been tweaked a bit.
You can use http://latentcards.com/, basically that allows you to create a Gif tweet in seconds. You only have to put your gif URL in the form and you title etc and boom, you have a tweet-able link. Also, it may help you to watch the 'how to make a gif link video' (they're at the bottom of the page).
EDIT: If you like Latent Cards you can help out by up voting here: https://www.producthunt.com/tech/latent-cards. Also, note, they're still working on the gif cards, and I heard video cards are coming very very soon!
Can you give https://fast.com/ a shot and take a screenshot for me? Also, it is Mb NOT MB. I checked out the video you described and even on my 100 Mb connection, it looks pixelated. It is most likely the twitter video compression and the fact that the video is poorly optimized.
I've had loads of these, funnily enough from all my suspended accounts. Maybe it's a password breach, no idea. Worth changing password and enabling 2FA either way, as u/CoreDreamStudiosLLC said. (I recommend using Myki, too)
They did not release the feature to everyone, but to some users. It could be that you did not get into the test. However, I'd check out the app. I use the app exclusively, so that could be why you're not seeing it.
Post I wrote on the feature, has step by step with pics on how to mute someone if you have the feature. Let me know if you have it on your account
http://socialdraft.com/how-to-use-twitter-mute-user-feature/
Lists are definitely a great way to group topics. You can also use Twitter's own TweetDeck and view each list simultaneously in a different column, or have columns based on current activity on certain hash tags, mentions, or whatever else you want. The only downside is I believe it's only available in a web browser and there's no app currently available for it anymore. But the column views definitely make for more easy reading on topics you are more interested in at the time or want to focus on.
I'm not sure it handles that by default. I think if you want to do that, you might want to use an intermediary service to handle it (it's almost easier since you can add conditions and stuff like only post if I use #FB or something)
The two big ones are: https://zapier.com/ https://ifttt.com
Here is your Dropbox solution. https://zapier.com/zapbook/dropbox/twitter/995/tweet-new-dropbox-files/
If your home PC is a Mac: http://osxdaily.com/2011/01/28/enable-growl-notifications-in-twitter-for-mac/
If your home PC is Windows, there is a Growl for Windows that may work.
next time use this phrase.:
The Oxford English Dictionary also suggests “quaint,” <em>queynte</em> in Middle English, as a euphemistic substitution for cunt, with one of the best-known examples being found in the late 14th century in Chaucer’s <em>Canterbury Tales</em>. In Miller’s Tale, Nicholas attempts to seduce the miller’s wife, he “prively […] caught her by the queynte.”
Twitter is garbage but if you want to play in that landfill for whatever reason do the following:
1) Web browser - clear your cache , with any open Twitter tabs closed obviously 2) Download and use a VPN (I recommend NordVPN), pick one of their 3,000 servers, that’ll give you a different IP address. 3) Use a different Email address 4) Google Burner text message numbers to get a burner phone number to verify the Twitter text verification.
After that you’re good. I’m perma banned, literally forgot about Twitter until I saw this in my feed, just shows how much I truly don’t miss it but fuck Jack Dorsey and anything that hurts him makes me happy. So create a ton of fake accounts, they’ll never find you. Cheers
I got this email from twitter after unfortunately send my id for age lock 1998 (i made the account on 2010). The message write down like :
We’ve verified you did not meet the minimum age requirement at the time your account was created. We will, however, be able to unlock your account––we’ll be in touch again soon with updates on our progress.
As a reminder, we require people to be at least 13 years old to use Twitter and we apologize for the delay while we update your account to remove content from before you turned 13.
Please note that additional requests submitted for this account will not be reviewed.
What should I do? FYI i choose "i enter the wrong birth year"
update OMG i can't believe that my account is back.
If your request rejected after first try with your ID and get email with messages above ^. You need to do this method with some addition

Not sure why I'm looking into this, but I am. Opera VPN doesn't allow to present yourself as from the UK. Various other countries yes, but not the UK.
I'm not in the UK at the moment. With TunnelBear, I find I can watch that video. Quite a nice free kick: other team were left flat-footed. It is possible to use TunnelBear for free, I believe, though there's a data cap.
I only use the official app, though I've bought like all of the third party ones. Haven't really used them much though, not even for a full day.
This list has some good ones - http://www.androidauthority.com/best-twitter-apps-for-android-2-311752/
This one is nice, got it, haven't used though https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samruston.twitter&hl=en
Buffer will do something similar to this. You can either let it choose for you, or you would have to schedule each tweet. I use it, but let it choose the time since I seem to get more engagement when I let it do it's thing.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.buffer.android&hl=en
We all need someone to act as a filter but I'll tell you about my media diet and perhaps I might be able to persuade you its more nutritional than Reddit or CNN.
I don't know of an existing script/extension/software that can do that, but see here to find a similar recipe and modify it to do what you want.
You want to get news about him or ignore such news?
If you want to ignore, mute related keywords under your twitter settings.
If you want to always hear such news, either run advanced search, or setup a rule to email you such news using one of the recipes here.
you should be able to use any IFTTT applet for searching twitter (e.g. https://ifttt.com/applets/162738p-twitter-search) and then just use the search term "from:TwitterPerson1 TwitterPerson2".
I think that they allowed existing animated avatars to stay, but if you remove it or try to change it you're out of luck.
http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/20/sorry-folks-kiss-your-animated-twitter-avatars-goodbye/
http://mashable.com/2012/09/20/twitter-animated-gifs-policy/
in 2010, Techcrunch released API figures that showed around 25% ( http://techcrunch.com/2010/09/14/twitter-seeing-90-million-tweets-per-day/) .
By the middle of 2011, that had dropped to just over 13%: http://www.statista.com/statistics/194407/share-of-twitter-messages-containing-links-and-images/ but obviously tweet volume had increased massively along with this.
It's worth noting that the vast majority percentage of links on Twitter actually originate from the BBC - unfortunately I can't find the reference for that right now I'm afraid, but I seem to recall reading last year that it was something like 70% - a huge number.
A lot of founders and makers struggle to build a Twitter audience. So I compiled these 100+ amazing tweets into a single swipe file so you can get inspired by top makers with a Twitter following.

I’ll also be hanging out here all day if you have any questions!
they apparently switched to curiouscat.me because the original domain is no longer theirs. you can still gain access to your old data in the new site. the new owners are apparently korean, so their english is kinda bad
I would definitely suggest using this Two Factor Authentication App. How were they able to hack into your Twitter Account if you had 2FA enabled? That doesn't make any sense.
I don't quite follow how this is related to Twitter really, but if you're getting death threats on CuriousCat, then that's the web site you should be contacting. Although considering CuriousCat is meant to be anonymous, I imagine there's only so much you can do.
Still, they do have a policy about Bullying...
Everybody is verified on Gab, Catturd is verified.
Trump's account is just a copy of his old Twitter account that Gab made for him to try to get him on board, since they had almost no users before.
I'm @thejournalizer. I gladly follow fellow redditors. Also while we are following everyone it couldn't hurt to @reply each other so we know who all is coming from Reddit, and not just spam.
Honestly cannot imagine the experience of returning to Twitter after a years-long hiatus in the present day.
If you’re looking for the particular magic Twitter once had for regular users, years ago, try Mastodon.
Try this - https://ifttt.com
It's free. You should be able to easily connect both accounts as long as you are logged in. Then create a recipe connecting the two together. It's easier than it sounds. I hope it helps!
If you knew what the tweet was, you could find it on the doc. It would include a link to the original tweet.
Unfavoriting it wouldn't delete it from those lists (IFTTT doesn't work that way).
I have IFTTT send all new tweets by me to an Evernote notebook so I have a backup file of everything I've tweeted (I started doing this before Twitter offered exports).
Here are some recipes that would do what you're looking for: https://ifttt.com/recipes/search?q=new+favorite+tweet&ac=false I think Google Doc or Sheet is your best target for a list of favs.
If Twitter turns in to Breitbart, I like https://theoldreader.com, the best Google Reader clone (although most RSS/ATOM blog aggregator users migrated to other readers which were available sooner than the clone.)
For Firefox, a link (https://winaero.com/blog/disable-twitters-new-interface-and-restore-old-design-back/) provided by an earlier commenter provides this non-extension method:
https://winaero.com/blog/disable-twitters-new-interface-and-restore-old-design-back/
Press "f12" and follow https://winaero.com/blog/change-user-agent-chrome/ to change your user agent string to "Internet Explorer 11."

You can listen to the podcast here btw :)
Oh funny, I had no idea it was also happening on iOS. I use TweetBot and they don't show up in there at all, so perhaps this is your solution?
I've been using it for years and it's really great. Highly recommended!
If you are a new comer in the world of Twitter and planning to get 1,000 followers , then by applying some of these tips and tricks in a consistent manner you can achieve this target very easily.
Hi rocketman19.
My first post under this account.
Our product Socialdraft has a scheduling tool that most definitely posts pictures to Twitter & displays them. We're built with local businesses in mind (not sure if you are posting for a brand/local business), but if you are not a local business, DM me so I can have you set up.
You can sign up for our free trial here http://socialdraft.com/sd-signup/?handle=premium (lots of pricing models available)
I'd LOVE to get your feedback. We're brand new and working to improve and grow the product every day.
Thanks in advance for checking us out.
Thank you very much for responding. Yes, I tried to use http://unfavinator.com/, but that doesn't seem to work anymore for unliking tweets.
It's pretty insane that in this era of GDPR, they literally make it almost impossible to delete tweets and favorites.
Ok I found it. Apparently that is a paid feature in HootSuite. https://hootsuite.com/plans
However, I found a way around it for either HootSuite or TweetDeck. You can sign up for a throwaway Twitter account to do all the authentication yourself and add all the accounts that you need, then give out the password to the throwaway account. Since all the accounts are pre-authorized via OAuth tokens, the password is safe. The worst that can happen is someone could hack the throwaway and spew spam or such onto your linked accounts. At least the password will be safe. However, you will need an email address to create a new Twitter id, which is easy.
However, if you try to re-add the account, you will go through a lot of trouble because the services might say the account is already linked:
xxxx has already been added by another HootSuite user. Please add a different social network.
So you will have to de-activate the application and probably go through a bunch of other rigmarole.
I tried to set up HootSuite but I messed up and signed in with Twitter (or rather they messed up) and now am unable to log in because both accounts say they are managed by another account! What a mess! I tried to create a new account, but THEN I wasn't even able to change my email to my company because it said there was already an account for it, which I can't get into!!! I even tried reset password but it would not send an email! It was a frustrating steaming pile of mess. I set this up with TweetDeck though and now I'm able to see the account I want to control, so I can give out the buffer.
Nitter.net if you don't need to post, and GoodTwitter2 otherwise. If you plan to go with GoodTwitter2, make sure to read the installation section thoroughly, since it's pretty easy to miss certain steps. It's not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot easier on the eyes than standard twitter.
You need two accounts: the main account where the retweet is, and a secondary account.
1- Go to https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/
2- If you are logged in with your main account, you must log out
3- Log in with your secondary account
4- Click on “Accounts” then “Add another account” and add your main account
5- Make sure your secondary account is the default one and search your main profile on twitter. Click on “User” and search the retweet you want to undo (it should appear unless your secondary account is also blocked)
6- Click on the option button (three-point button under the retweet) and click on “undo retweet” or “delete”.
Tweetdeck by Twitter is the best for that purpose. You can also customize it the way you want.
There are others like HootSuite, etc but it doesn't stream in real-time.
>1st of all BWAHAHA!

Thank you.

> 2nd I can safely pay it no mind?

Since you haven't gotten too deeply invested in the site, probably. There's a good chance that they really will lock your account, but at this point, what would you lose other than the bad time you were about to have?
There's a competing site called Gab.com. Similar functionality, with the users getting a lot less grief from the company. It doesn't look as pretty, and there are some disturbingly ignorant people on the site, but one finds the same on Twitter, and at least on Gab, the ignorant people can't get you censored. Unless you try to post porn or break the law, Gab doesn't really care what you post. They stay neutral.

> needed that thanks!

You're welcome.
If you really, really want another account on Twitter, there's something called "an anon server" which you could use to mask your IP address, but, why would you want to do that?
Twitter just got done treating you like dirt. If you sneak your way back in, what have you gotten for your time and effort? A chance to help increase Twitter's bottom line. Also, the time you invest into building up your new account can be taken from you for any reason or no reason at all, again, and as you have seen, there will be nobody to talk to about that. Why come back for a second helping of abuse?
I'd suggest going over to Gab.com, instead, and forgetting that Twitter ever existed. But it's your call to make, of course.
> Twitter today is launching a new resource that aims to serve as the central place for everything related to the company’s efforts around privacy and data protection
but
> ...But... still does not introduce encrypted DMs, effective user validation or kill off robot accounts...
You've got me trying to track down the first twitpic (or yfrog) from space now, but that's not it. Ron Garan just arrived on the ISS this month. It's not a picture, but TJ Creamer was the first to tweet from space.
Nvm answered my own question!
“We introduced the Account Activity API as a faster & more streamlined way for developers building customer service and brand engagement tools, chatbots, + more. As this new API doesn’t include home timeline data, it is not intended as a solution for 3rd party clients”
Looks like I may focus on Mastodon. https://joinmastodon.org/
I made my new account on incognito mode using the Opera GX browser, on my PC! I did also use a VPN (I think NordVPN do a free 30 day trial if you haven't done that before.)
I haven't used the app on my phone yet - I'm a little scared to do that. I'm going to be resetting it completely anyway, since I need to clear it out completely and I think that's the only safe way? I did read that maybe uninstalling and reinstalling the twitter app could help, as well as a VPN on your phone, but IDK much sorry :(
I've never owned the ones that were similar in the picture. Those are very very large zip ties and probably 5 cm thick...maybe 10cm's. https://www.amazon.com/disposable-restraint-locking-Self-Locking-%EF%BC%88length/dp/B01N5ESTER
Yeah I am trying to avoid that. I am using the paid version of ProtonVPN, and about 10 mins after creating the account Twitter kicks me out as it thinks I'm a robot. This happens even if I don't follow anyone.
I got this problem as well, but the solution for me which has not yet been mentioned in this thread was to disable NordVPN (by turning off the VPN connection I had made). I do not know why but for some reason it was preventing me from posting images.
I don't know if there's a way for you to retrieve the list if you've been banned. If it's not a permanent ban, then just use an incognito browser window to go to your Twitter home page. Then it's all about manual copying.
On a more serious note, it sounds like they have your IP address. If you want to get around this, I'd recommend getting a Google voice number (it's free, of course), and another email address, and a VPN service (e.g., Private Internet Access). They'll be looking for anything coming from your IP address. The VPN will get around that for you, but you'll have to remember to always keep it on so that they cannot see your actual source IP.
They must have rules in place to differentiate between someone's home IP and an IP that lots of people share (for example, an entire office building, or everyone connected to a given Starbuck's Wifi). So you're probably safe if you browse from a public or corporate starting point, but if you're at home, you definitely need to use a VPN. Good luck.
You can as well use Tweet Vine Downloader, it's an Android app that allows you to download videos and gifs from Twitter without having to leave the Twitter client or login to the app with your credentials. It is fast, easy to use and user friendly. Currently, only available on Play Store.
