Apparently the physical copies are hard to find, I got mine as an ebook and read it on my phone (it's pretty short). Also it was [written by the actor](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Stitch_in_Time_(book) who played Garak as a way to finish his story.
Okay guys, no creative witty stuff to try and make you all buy my books this week. I've told you guys before about the Four Kingdoms Saga, and about Dragon in the Doghouse. What might be worth mentioning this week, however, is that now all of them are currently available on Kobo, so those of you who prefer that ebook format can now check out what I have to offer.
Thanks again for all the support, guys. See you in the threads!
I've heard very good things about Phantoms of Arendelle which was published just a few days ago (I think only in ebook form). It's about Anna and Elsa getting lost in secret passages hidden under the castle.
Here's a review with some excerpts.
Edit: if you buy it from the kobo store and use the coupon code sav50 you can get it for $2.50! (and it should be readable on pretty much any computer, tablet or smartphone).
Kobo store page -- Adobe DRM'd epub
Of all the ebook apps and devices I have, Kindle is no longer one of them.
If you have an ebook reader GoT is <$5 at the moment.

I've got two different series running, with a third coming next month.
If you like geeky comedy that's like Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Clerks, check out Geekomancy, where love of fantasy and science fiction is its own magic system. There are two novels and a novella in the series so far, with another novel coming in 2015.
For traditional fantasy fans and superhero lovers, there's Shield and Crocus, an action fantasy set in a city built among the bones of a titan. It's got evil cyborgs, transmogrifying storms, gadgets, heroism, and a diverse cast of heroes.
And coming October 13th, I've got a darker contemporary fantasy called The Younger Gods, starring the only moral son in a family of cultists of dark gods, who flees the family to start his life over. But when his sister shows up to kick-start the apocalypse, he has to gather allies to stop her.
VIZ is releasing the new reprints in digital format.
You can get them from Kobo, VIZMANGA, Amazon and maybe even Comixology.
But if you want them in Japanese than I'd recommend Amazon (since I don't know any other store that sells them in digital format and in Japanese)
ex. http://store.kobobooks.com/en-US/ebook/ranma-1-2-2-in-1-edition-vol-1
In my opinion Kobo and CMX offer the best quality, after that comes VIZMANGA and only after that comes Amazon Kindle even though VIZMANGA resolution is lower, the image quality (jpeg compression) is better.
But Amazon and CMX (which is in fact now owned by Amazon) are the most convenient platforms.
Oh I missed this yesterday! Too many posts in here. I'm spending more time trying to sort out what to read next than reading.
Kobo for the non-kindle users. I don't want anyone to be too lazy to look it up themselves and not buy it.
Looks like an awesome read!
You can find The Out of Order Detective on Barnes and Noble and Kobo as well. It's a set of flash fictions with 2 fairly decent reviews. I almost never pimp this penname.
Does anybody here use Kobo?
Massive massive discounts on a few books.

I just celebrated the one year anniversary of my first book, Spirit Summoner. Book two is going through editing right now. Below is the blurb and buy links. Thank you!
Spirit Summoner: [spir-it suhm-uh n-er] (noun): A person possessing the innate ability to submerge him/herself partially or fully into the spirit world. A Spirit Summoner can listen to and interpret the wisdom of the spirits, allowing them access to knowledge of the past, present, and future. Skilled Spirit Summoner can manipulate the energies of the spirit world including the Four Elements and life itself.
I would love to read the book but I use a Sony eReader. Hoping you made it available in multiple formats I searched for it on Kobo and this is what I got instead ->

If you put out an epub version I'll get it.
There's a kindle version available, isn't there? What reader do you have now?

Three days ago I published my latest book, the first in a fantasy series. It's called Nightblade and it's the beginning of a series with a new book every Friday.
It's free on Kobo but a buck on Amazon. If you want to help me, you could report the lower price at Amazon because I really want it to be free on both platforms. I like letting people try the first books in my series before committing to pay anything.
I almost didn't buy this because Kobo said it was no longer available (I don't think I can read amazon drm).
But BEHOLD it was lying to me the whole time!
I was close to begging you to let me send you an Amazon receipt if you could send me an epub of your book =P. No need now!
Your book looks great!!
Thanks for your interest. The story is called Seven Undying and is part of the Iron Pen Anthology. You can find it at the following retailers:
You can also download it from other retailers:
One of the first i downloaded, if not the very first. I was curious to read some Steampunk, as it always sounded right up my alley, and when i saw this was free i figured, "Why not? probably a bit like fan fiction if its free, but hey, its not like i have to finish it if i don't like it."
How very wrong i was. This book as ruined Steampunk/gas-lamp fantasy for me. The author's done an entire series, the quality of writing improves measurably with each volume, as unfortunately does the price (2.99 for the 2nd/3rd).
I have no yet found another free ebook that i enjoyed as much as this.
Download it.
DOWNLOAD IT NOW.
why are you still reading this post?!!?
*Edit- to say that this ruined steampunk for me, is to say that i enjoyed it so much all other steampunk (that i have thusfar read) is but a pale imitation. The same can be said for my experience with free ebooks. nothing has been enjoyed quiet as much as this.
Hi! I hope you like the book! It's a mix of steampunk-inspired science-fiction and fantasy, and is the first book in a series.
If Amazon's not your flavour, you can also grab Ghost Armada from Kobo, and further formats can also be downloaded for numerous devices at Smashwords.
Thank you for the consideration!
Go to Kobo Books for your digi needs:
I have ITW on digi while I have their novels (Father Figure, Cruel to be Kind, The Bride, etc.) on hand/physical books [for me to lick everyday.](/spoiler)
Sigggh, Guilt|Pleasure, never a boring moment.

OK. So ebooks come in different formats. .epub is the mostly popular. A Kindle, a Nook, a Kobo, all can open .epub files. Almost any book in the public domain can be downloaded for free and read on these devices via sites like Gutenberg.org.
Where they start getting more distinct is when you're trying to get a newer book. If you buy a newer eBook, often it will not be an .epub, but rather it will be in a proprietary format. Something bought off of Amazon's Kindle store won't work on a Kobo for example.
I have a Kindle Paperwhite. It's great! There a lot of books available, a ton. Here is the Amazon store for ebooks: http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-eBooks/b?node=154606011
Nooks are put out by Barnes and Noble. Here is the Nook Book store: http://m.barnesandnoble.com/browse/nook-books
Kobo ereaders have a store as well. http://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/?utm_source=linkshare_us&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=linkshare_us&siteID=XKiyX8ZknCA-dn2ZCbG9qIQWTDreBbTAgw
Like I said, I have a Kindle. I am considering maybe switching after a while. I use a lot of google services. Google has a book store. I believe that books bought on google are DRM free, but they can not be put on a Kindle. (Amazon likes proprietary formats)
All three are great.
Does your friend go to the library often? Most libraries will allow you to borrow ebooks for free! Check your local library and see of there are any device restrictions.
Does your friend already use amazon for a lot of things?
All things equal, I will recommend a Kindle. There is an extensive selection of books, even textbooks. Kindles are pretty much the ubiquitous ereader.
The intro short story for my Black Ocean sci-fantasy series has finally gone free on Amazon. (It's also free on B&N and Kobo)
From the blurb:
A heist goes wrong on a space station, and the crew of the starship Mobius are caught between a local crime boss and a galactic syndicate. Can Captain Carl Ramsey weasel his way out of this one? More importantly, can he weasel out of it and still get paid for the job?
Or it could just be that coffee wasn't quite enough this Monday morning, and I'm being particularly dense.

This is the free version on Kobo. The B&N version needed to get pushed through Smashwords, which has about as straightforward a processing time as (Pinkko)[http://priceisright.wikia.com/wiki/Plinko].
They're already available from Kobo as ebooks:

Free download from Kobo.com this weekend (check back if the promo isn't active yet -- it says it may take up to 48 hrs to make the change!)
http://store.kobobooks.com/search?Query=The+barn+By+Richard+Holt
it's available on Kobo, Nook, Itunes, Diesel, and probably a bunch of places I've forgotten. I just checked and the price hasn't dropped on Kobo, so I've just tried again. It's £1.99 there right now as opposed to the 99p it's supposed to be. Give it an hour or two.
Released the first episode of my new fantasy series on Friday. It's called Nightblade and it's on Amazon and Kobo — coming to all other platforms as soon as Smashwords gets their act together.
I'm going to be writing one of these EVERY week and I'm doing it live on my YouTube channel. I've self-published a lot of books already, but this is my first time doing it like this. It's kind of a rush. Even though I'm not sleeping much.
BTW, I posted this on another thread, but if anyone wants to help me make the book permanently free on Amazon, you can report a lower price on the Amazon page and paste the link to the Kobo page. It would really help. And of course, feel free to download that shit from Kobo rather than paying a buck! I want everyone to be able to try the series out before investing in it.
You can also download it from other retailers:
There are, IMHO, three very good directions:
Tangerine. You will pay the most in fees (MER), but if you're starting from nothing the fees will be very small no matter what. Extremely simple to use: fill out a risk quiz and they will decide what to invest you in, then you just move the money over.
TD e-series. Touch more complex: you'll have to rebalance yourself, but it's still a mutual fund, you just invest however many dollars you want to invest, fairly easy to set up a preauthorized purchase, etc. Less than half the cost of Tangerine. Plus there's a handy book going over the whole how-to process (and of course the author is right here).
Questrade and ETFs: a fairly big step in complexity, now you have to deal with trading and limit orders and rounding off to whole units, but with no commissions to buy it's the absolute cheapest way to invest.
Not that it should influence your decision of where to go, but Tangerine and Questrade have various referral bonuses (for both you and the referrer), most of us have codes if you want.
And start with a plan & strategy, so feel free to hold off until you've done enough reading to be confident.
Well, there are a few free ones out there, especially on Kobo. But for now, some doge!
+/u/dogetipbot 50 doge verify
You could always check out the free ones first. (Such as Daughter of Markus, or Drakes.
Also thanks, I guess that issue came back with the latest site update... sigh
The Feyland series is definitely an example of this. In a much more in-your-face way than Star Wars or even Dune.
Though, most people actually consider science fiction as a sub-category of fantasy in general, so this question gets a bit tricky if you stick with that perspective.
As to how to blend the elements, Feyland does it by making science fiction the catalyst for the main event. A girl accesses a virtual reality machine, and gets stuck in a fantasy world with real dangers. That's just a nice simple way.
I think you might really enjoy Seanan McGuire's Incryptid series, where a family of cryptozoologists fight to keep the balance between Cryptids and humanity. The first book is Discount Armageddon.
And if you'll excuse a bit of self-promotion, I think my Ree Reyes books might also fit the bill - they're more comedy than drama, and The Dresden Files is definitely one of the main influences.
The first book is called Geekomancy, about a geeky barista who discovers a world where fandom is a magic system, sewer trolls accost club-goers, and a prop lightsaber is a girl's best friend.
Wow! Congrats!
Hmmm...the fellas @ Kobo are sleeping it seems. It says it will be released April 15th over there. I need the epub version e-book so Amazon is a no go.
Oh well, I can wait, plenty of reading to do! Looking forward to it!
Aether Moon
This is the first in the series called Annals of the Aether.
It is also live here on Barnes & Noble for the Nook and on Kobo. It will be live on iBookstore soon.
