Consider using Friendly for Facebook instead of the official FB app. There's also an iPhone app if you're not on Android.
If you still need to use facebook, but don't like their app, there are others like Friendly and TinFoil. They are Android specific and I'm not sure if there are iPhone alternatives.
Both are wrappers and Friendly has a built in Messenger ability, so you can really keep things trim.
Aaaaand that's why I don't use the official app.
I barely use Facebook but when I do, I use Friendly
And I always use Facebook only on incognito mode. If you are always connected to your Facebook account on the web page, it tracks you even when Facebook web isn't opened, through the like buttons embedded on some pages. They notify Facebook the pages you visit
I saw Friendly get some hype yesterday, have you tried that one?
I had been using Swipe Pro for a long time, and was quite happy with it, but recently it seems to have died.
I've been using Friendly for weeks. It's fast - much faster than Swipe was and so far I've been able to do anything I can do on the official Facebook app.
Edit: behold a link! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.friendly
As an alternative, you can use the Friendly for Facebook app. It's 3rd party app which uses the web-interface in the background. It also supports other social media.
Friendly is my 1st choice. This app made FB so user friendly for me.
Simple for Facebook Pro is my 2nd choice.
I'd go with Friendly.
I've tried Simple for Facebook for a while but I didn't like how it automatically set all my notifications as readed, which Friendly doesn't do.
MaterialFBook or Friendly For Facebook
I believe you should give a try to Friendly or Swipe.
They are wrappers of Facebook and they work surprisingly well !
I've previously used Friendly which has IAP for removing ads, but am currently using Frost (also available on F-Droid) which is ad free without IAP. I prefer Frost as I've found any links I open within the app are also without ads, but with Friendly only my Facebook feed had the ads removed. N.B. both are wrappers for Facebook mobile.
Friendly for Facebook?
Bonus, I can uninstall Messenger too. And no ads!
Just use a wrapper because both the official Facebook App and the official Facebook Messenger are known battery killers. There are many wrappers on the Play Store. I currently use Friendly for Facebook. It has a great design and is really fast too and you can do with it pretty much everything that you can do with the official Facebook App. Most importantly though it doesn't drain your battery.
Friendly for Facebook
It's low resource, has theming and dark mode, supports messaging and notification, can upload photos and videos and full reaction support.
I use FB.. there are alternatives to the FB app I mean. The official is indeed a horrible malware which also eats your battery and ram.
Friendly is a FB client that is free and lets you even chat without using messenger https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.friendly&hl=es
I use Friendly, I used to use something else before that but Friendly has worked well for me. Haven't tried the one you mentioned but thought I'd show another option.
I'm pretty happy with my current results from the blocking available with the paid version of Friendly.
It's an arms race of sorts. Friendly is currently winning. There have been times in an earlier version where it seemed unable to block effectively.
Friendly for Facebook!
The app is relatively new and I recently discovered it on this subreddit since I was looking for a Sync for Facebook replacement because I've been having issues with it.
If you don't know it's a Facebook wrapper app with notifications and theming.
Hi ! Developer of Friendly for Facebook here.
Can you share what device you are using? We should be working on Android 4.4+ on a lot of low end devices too. Maybe we can make it work for your device.
I uninstalled the official Facebook App quite some time ago. I use a wrapper called Friendly for Facebook and it's really awesome. It's super fast and it doesn't suck your battery dry. Also design is very good. Check it out here:
I heard that keeping the FB a/c signed in @ chrome was the best way to keep in sync with that godforsaken social media website.
As for an app based option - Friendly for Facebook.
I'm currently using Friendly for Facebook. It's basically a wrapper around Facebook's mobile website, and gives you a modified (better, IMHO) UI along with some additional features, like integrating with Android notifications, being able to sort the news feed by most recent, and an optional ad blocker.
If you're on Android, you could try out Friendly. I switched to it after FB was being a huge battery drain, it's a lot more pleasant to use than FB's cancerous mobile app.
I personally use a Firefox shortcut to my Facebook page and it works pretty good! But if you want a Facebook client you can use Friendly for Facebook ! It is the most beautiful wrapper I know ...give it a try!
For awhile I was using a browser link to Facebook on my home screen, but it made reading messages a pain in the ass. I refused to download the FB or messenger app cause I hated how intrusive and resource heavy they were. Recently downloaded Friendly, and gotta say, been pretty happy with it so far. It lets me use FB the way I want without FB shoving shit down my throat.
It's not purely for Messenger, but I've recently replaced both FB app and Messenger with Friendly. It's the first such replacement that doesn't feel like a compromise to me.
We have similar taste in apps, I would recommend Friendly for Facebook.
It's the best Facebook client in my opinion and I've tried them all. Metal pro, Folio pro, swipe for Facebook etc.
If you need an app, I'd recommend Friendly. Can also use messenger within it.
Use Friendly for Facebook, It's an alternative to the official app with messenger build in
I recommend Friendly for Facebook.
I've been using Simple's paid version for a while. Friendly rocks! Thank you for mentioning it.
Friendly is better than either [link]
a shitty blog with no play store link too, found it on the youtube link
I recommend Friendly for Facebook for messages, and feed all in one app.
Friendly for Facebook is a great alternative
I like Friendly.
Friendly for Facebook is one I've used before.
Friendly is my favourite. [link]
I've been using friendly. [link]
Consiglio Friendly, ha la dark mode e ti fa pure scaricare i video
I've been using Friendly for years and could not be happier.
>- Actively supported/ updated
- AMOLED theme (or at least dark theme)
- Supports messenger/ messages
- Supports notification options for messages (e.g. Mute notifications, ignore, etc etc)
- Supports reactions for both the news feed and messages (like, heart, etc etc)
It supports all of your listed requirements.
>Supports Twitter and Instagram (if I apply the dark theme, hopefully is also applied in both of these too)
Instagram and Twitter are both directly loadable within Friendly for Facebook app or have Friendly companion apps (linked above) with rich features for their platform.
Friendly is great, been using it for a long time now, after having tried multiple other wrappers.
Actually it's this [link]
There are facebook website wrappers like this [link] but I've never gotten notifications to work in these properly.
I just tested Friendly and it worked for me. [link]
Give Friendly a try. Much less of a wrapper..
If you want to try a wrapper I recommend Friendly for Facebook.
Friendly for FB
Friendly has been a champion for me. Also has a nice interface for other social media apps.
Try Friendly. I use it for all my social media.
I use friendly.
Download a 3rd party Facebook app. Here's the one I use
I know you have tried several wrappers, but have you tried Friendly? Seems very fast to me.
Ha - it's actually Friendly for Facebook.
Just a lightweight facebook app. Sure there are dozens more, but I went with FFF
Friendly for Facebook:
Install friendly for an FB lite replacement [link]
Friendly for Facebook is a great alternative.
Friendly for Facebook.
Link to app
Use Friendly, has messenger and the fb client, works well, doesn't hammer the battery.
Use Friendly for Facebook.
Maybe you haven't tried this one. I find the mobile version of Facebook too damn slow.
Friendly had multi social media features, I recommend you check it out.
I would recommend Friendly for Facebook
Very strange? Good catch. I would suggest this alternative - Friendly. I found it easier to navigate and more stable.
