I wrote a detailed blog post on the news + how to opt-out (when they will start sharing the data) here on nowgeeks.com but if you feel more comfortable reading it on WhatsApp's website, it's here https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/general/26000016 :)
You can do it the intended way like it says here: https://faq.whatsapp.com/general/26000226
Or use an app like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dstukalov.walocalstoragestickers
Sorry for formatting, on mobile and on a hurry.
Have fun with your stickers!!
If you are on Android you can use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dstukalov.walocalstoragestickers
Create a folder on Downloads or Images with your sticker pack name, put your stickers there as png or webp format
I have no clue either why this happens. It's only videos hosted on Reddit. So I've taken to finding either the Imgur or gyfcat links and downloading them from there.
But if those aren't available I download the Reddit video and convert it with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jaineel.videoconvertor
I just use the default mp4 settings. It honestly doesn't change anything and I have no clue why the Reddit video can't be shared as it is, but atleast this way I have a shareable video ♂️
well guys i hit the keyboard again and it got fixed. So idea came on to me that there is a keyboard shortcuts for whatsapp desktop. I made a search on this idea and found this. https://winaero.com/blog/keyboard-shortcuts-in-whatsapp-for-desktop/ Hope i can help smb else thnx for your attention.
Have you checked the FAQ entries regarding backups and changing phone numbers?
I have changed numbers and phones a few times and it worked every single time, as long as I stayed on the same OS.
Yeah you can do this in that way... It more convenient.
But you can also use FTP protocol. I use this . Its more of a hassle to do this way.
And the ultimate... Leave a cable beside your pc.
Tap on the chat you want to export chat - > More - >Export... On Android phones you can export 40k messages (10k for "with media"). On iOS there is not such a limitation. Multiple chat exportation isn't possible anymore, expect for you have the decryption key. For amazing stats I could recommend my app(available just for android) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.julkrebs98.whatstats
Have fun:)
Install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dstukalov.walocalstoragestickers
Create a folder with your sticker pack name on Downloads or Images, copy your sticker to your new stickers folder as PNG or webp
I'm using the beta version of the official app. I'm gonna try to convert the file. Thanks for the tip.
Edit: converting the video worked. I used this app in case anyone is having problems.
I don't think it is possible on a iOS device. The easiest way I can think of is to migrate your chats to an Android device and use the the app Backup Text for Whats. You can choose to save your chat in an HTML file with all media attached to it.
I use this app for years now and as far as I know there is no limit.
So I had this exact same issue, but found a link on another reddit post on /r/whatsapp that had a link to the latest Whatsapp Beta on APKmirror in which this bug is fixed.
So if you can wait, Whatsapp will roll out a fix in it's main update very soon I imagine but if not, download the latest Beta and the text whill be white
Edit: Here's a link
Yes, for desktop app they have added that feature very recently, you might have to upgrade your app. (I am not sure about web version though)
But as they are still committed to push their controversial privacy policy, I would request you to stop using whatsapp and use a alternative service called Signal. It has the same feature in desktop app and protect your privacy too.
I wish WhatsApp someday implemented ‘Chat Folders’ as in Telegram, sadly I don’t expect much about WhatsApp because the only thing they care, is find ways to monetize and earn money, no its billions of users. Look at this beauty: https://telegram.org/blog/folders
Currently, there are no full-fledged free WhatsApp chatbots available as such.
There are few companies providing free plans like Engati and SendPulse, but you can't get advanced features as you need to pay them.
Brands use ai chatbot WhatsApp to automate tasks and customize them as per their requirements.
Np
Bear with me, this is a long explanation.
When you send a message to someone it first goes to the WhatsApp server and from the WhatsApp server it goes to the recipient. Once a message has been delivered, it no gets deleted from WhatsApp's servers and only exists on the sender's and recipient's phone.
If the recipient is not online, the undelivered message is held in WhatsApp's server until it can be delivered. If the message is undelivered for thirty (30) days, the undelivered message is deleted from WhatsApp's server. And the recipient won't receive the message or any trace of the message being sent. The message will only be on the sender's phone.
So I presume V.2.19.134 is safe then? The play store has 2.19.134 but the Whatsapp website says the latest Android version is 2.19.137 .....
Have you tried contacting WhatsApp to explain your side of the events leading up to your account being suspended? It's possible that they've made a mistake on their end, and can reverse your suspension manually: https://www.whatsapp.com/contact/
The notifications api has been redone in ios10, and whatsapp has 3 other platforms to contend with, whereas iMessage doesn't exist outside the Apple ecosystem.
Suppose he sent you the message encrypted by your old key. And now you are waiting when he reencrypt it with your new key.
https://signal.org/blog/there-is-no-whatsapp-backdoor/
it might be possible to send a message before the sending client discovers that the receiving client has new keys. The recipient’s device immediately responds, and asks the sender to re-encrypt the message with the recipient’s new identity key pair. The sender displays the “safety number has changed” notification, re-encrypts the message, and delivers it.
Yeah, I thought about switching chrome, but I really like the sync with my account and my other devices. And I don't want to use another browser for all of my devices because the chrome flags are super useful. So for now, I think chrome will be my browser because of functionality and comfort.
This is what you mean with the friendly facebook/instagram? If I will use this app they can't track my data?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qr.code.reader.scanner.qrscan
With this app you can use the same WhatsApp on 2 devices. It basically makes one device think its running the WhatsApp web version.
There are a lot of apps with the same features this is but one.
Edit: spelling and grammar
hey, I'm in the same boat. Spent enough time trying to actually find a phone that does what you're talking about. But then I remember that I also want podcasts and audiobooks. Found a solution that dumbs down my android ... it's working. Gave it a few days to grow on me and now we're good.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.siempo.phone
On Google photos under the lateral menu you should find 'device folders' there you will be able to enable backup/clean up of those images.
But they will be forever on your account, and maybe you don't want that.
As an alternative to only get rid is them you can use Google files https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.nbu.files
it will identify WhatsApp folders' and offer to delete is contents, make sure you have seen/saved any important info/image before.
Try sending an email again next week and meanwhile try to register the number with WhatsApp Business and then, after some hours, re-register again in WhatsApp
Download from here: https://www.whatsapp.com/android/ And you should get stickers ;)
In addition: There is Custom stickers for WhatsApp! You can get any inage from your gallery and make it sticker!!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ej.customstickers
It's not possible to switch between them officially but if you have a rooted phone you can use WA Tweaks to switch.
If you want more GIFs you can also use GBoard Google keyboard to search for GIFs everywhere and send it in WhatsApp in one click.
 I think Giphy is better

if it really bothers you like it bothered me, you can sideload the beta version 2.19.180, which solves the problem (widget is dark with white fonts).
Ok I found the solution to fix this, but only for Android users. You need to install the latest WhatsApp beta from apkmirror (legit site)

You can copy all the stickers (.webp) in to another folder like Downloads/Stickers then use a third party app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dstukalov.walocalstoragestickers
Personal Stickers for WhatsApp
Open the app, select the desired folder and done!
If you want do analyse direct on Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatstats_chatanalyser.app
or iOS: https://apps.apple.com/gb/developer/julian-krebs/id1513122800
This app is not related to the OP. But the app is very similar and also wanted.
Thanks!
You have to use a 3rd party app or try Move to iOS. I'm in the same position and it seems people like Wutsapper.
You need to download Move to iOS app and follow the on-screen prompts.
Note : 1. iOS 15.5 or above installed on your iPhone 2. WhatsApp iOS version 2.22.10.70 (new device) 3. WhatsApp Android version 2.22.7.74 (old device) 4. Use the same phone number as your old phone on your new device* 5. Your iPhone must be factory new or reset to factory settings to pair with the Move to iOS app and move data from your Android phone 6. Both of your devices need to be connected to power and to a same Wi-Fi network.
Here is the official WhatsApp FAQ.
Have you got this to work yourself?
You need to download Move to iOS app and follow the on-screen prompts.
Here this official WhatsApp FAQ.
It's open - I just did it. Once you apply, go to the Play Store, update Whatsapp (it'll download the beta 2.22.14.3). And then download the Move To iOS app on your android and follow the instructions there. I'm just waiting for my iphone to reset so I can carry on the process.
what app did you make? is it on the playstore? i know there are apps like Greenify but i was hoping i was doing something wrong
If you have a PC then you can use digikam by KDE Which is a Free and Open Source photo management software. You could organize your photos as separate albums. On Android, i don't know i have searched on Alternativeio for digikam alternative for android, Here is the link: Choose the one which suits you: https://alternativeto.net/software/digikam/
Thank you for post this. I just receive this message too and almost have a panic attack. 😭 Here it's the one I receive:
Your WhatsApp account has been requested on a new mobile device, to confirm that it was you who carried out the operation, say (YES), if your answer is negative it must be (No), if you do not receive a prompt reply, your WhatsApp account will be deleted for your safety and that of other users. for more information contact us https://www.whatsapp.com
From phone number 407.347.2723
If you are using an Android, maybe Google Keyboard?
If you wanna know more about the WhatsApp Encription (https://signal.org/blog/whatsapp-complete/)
For anyone looking for third party methods I have tried these and they work:
Both of these are paid and work by taking a local backup and converting them respectively before transferring to the new device. They are no way official but just what I found by trial and error.
Whatsapp is working on bringing native functionality for cross platform migration albeit slowly and it took way longer than it should have for them to start on it. Right now it is limited to only some devices, so we are stuck with closed source third party solutions.
*Install Whatsapp Extensions (http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.suraj.waext)
You will need to be rooted and have the Xposed Framework installed.
There is an option to "Replace Call Button" among others. Once active, pressing the call button calls the contact via the default phone app and not whatsapp. To make a whatsapp call, you'll need to open the contact details within WA and proceed from there.*

Hello. I had this same issue, try doing this:
Delete whatsapp from your PC Completely.
Download the "everything tool" https://www.voidtools.com/
Open it, then type whatsapp.
Highlight everything you see, and delete it.
Try reinstalling whatsapp after doing that, and see if it works!
Hmm, I mean you can use Secret Chats!! It just doesn’t allow to sync you message history.
If you want to use sync, then you’d have to trust Pavel here. He states that messages are encrypted on their servers + the decryption key is fragmented and stored in different peaces over physical servers. Meaning, even if you hack into one server, you will still not be able to access anything.
Also: Secret chats? Yep, not for groups, but groups are still encrypted! Just by the second method which is server-side.
If anything: https://telegram.org/crypto_contest
But man, if you’re really worried about privacy, then Secret Chats is the way to go! Many people are using it.
I think stickify can help you. It let you organize your sticker if you allow access to WhatsApp sticker folder. Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wastickerapps.stickerstore
Just use the business app for a second number: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp.w4b
The reason telegram has all your chats available on any device is because they can read all your chats on their servers, WhatsApp is end to end encrypted, so they can't do that.
You can do that very easily with WhatsApp Web Plus.
This is how you can set the password:
https://www.screencast.com/t/lSc6MFZk
And this is how it looks after is protected by password
https://www.screencast.com/t/jtC4JF5t0
Send me a private message to get a trial period for this tool :)
When I say how they implement it I compare it to Signal Messenger and how Signal store next to nothing about the user (including meta data)
Considering that Facebook has 2 billion users I find it hard to believe that don’t collect and store information about their users then market it.
This is also from WhatsApp’s privacy policy >> "To improve performance and deliver media messages more efficiently, such as when many people are sharing a popular photo or video, we may retain that content on our servers for a longer period of time."
This statement alone is worrisome, because our data is suppose to be E2EE. So how does WhatsApp know what media is being sent.
Then, define popular. For a media file to be considered popular does it need to be sent 1000 times or just a few before they store it.
On top of that, there are rumors that ads are coming to WhatsApp this year.
Facebook has a track record of misusing and abusing our info due to poor decisions and lies. It’s hard to trust they wouldn’t read oour messages.
In my opinion E2EE should be mandatory and not an optional feature. I think a messenger storing messages, pictures and so on without E2EE on their server is a hugh security risk. Moreover, the latest information i have is that Signal is proven to be secure while such proofs do not exist for Telegram.
Signal (and soon Threema) allows multi-device support without an active phone, Threema even without a phone at all. Sharing files also works for both. Yes, they have less features then Telegram, but I would not rate higher than WA in terms of security. Telegram also stores the contact list (yes that can be revoked, but I dont want to choose between not seeing my contacts or giving them all my contacts). So privacy is also highly questionable.
Telegram also collects meta-data.
After all, I would consider Telegram as a version of WA with more features but even less security.
Source: https://telegram.org/privacy
One of my favourite feature. It allows you to open web pages in a instant view, loading only what is needed. Really nice to read web pages. You can then makes text bigger or change contrast, put night mode, etc https://telegram.org/blog/instant-view (from 2016)
If it helps, I just used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wondershare.wutsapper.android and it worked perfectly (other than a gap from messages that came in between my last backup until when it was done).
It's a little scary to use because it gives very little feedback, and the battery drains the entire time. It jumped from 0-20-50-80-90, and then counted to 100 and got stuck there for a little while.
There's one point when the iPhone says "restoring", and you have no idea what's happening because the program doesn't tell you.
Make sure you charge BOTH phones to 100%! And be very very patient with it - it took around 2 hours (obviously it depends on how many messages you have).
If you can, attach the phones with the cable, then go in options to tell Android not to charge the other phone.

You would need to download an Android Emulator (like Bluestacks) and download WhatsApp on it, then sign up/in to your account on it with your number.
Then you can use WhatsApp on BlueStacks.
Hope this helps :)
Go to your chat, select all the messages and copy them.
Navigate to Browserling's regex replacer and paste the messages on the first input.
Next, where it says "Regular exp" paste exactly the following code.
/[.*?:\s/g
Leave the next input empty and hit "Replace regexp!" Done. This can all be done on your phone, no need to open the computer.
Chatbots on WhatsApp caters to small to large-scale businesses. To answer your queries...
1: It's doable, as they can be integrated to any third-party applications.
2: You can customize your requirements based on the BSPs platform.
3: Not that I'm aware of.
You can explore more about the solutions from here: WhatsApp chatbot
See what I found- https://www.textnow.com/
This website provides you a free virtual phone number, which you can use to make calls and texts even without using a real SIM card, and a phone. You can get new phone numbers belonging to different countries in seconds.
That stalker may have used this service to get phone numbers, specially to stalk you, after that he may have just deleted his number, so that no one can find him. and thats the reason, no website is able to provide you info about that phone number.
If that stalker has really used this service then your hopes are in vain, you can no longer find him!
If that stalker hasn't used this service then you can use this service to get a fake mobile number and call him.
After seeing above cases, I can say that the stalker could be your relative, try to recall that if you know any person who also knows you and is tech savvy.
Bonus fact: WhatsApp used to allow people to use fake(virtual) phone numbers to create whatsapp accounts but it no longer allows now. Now, if you will try to use his phone number to create a whatsapp account then whatsapp will say that, "this phone number is invalid".
I am trying getsession.org - it uses the Signal protocol (same as WhatsApp) but doesn't have centralised servers, doesn't require a phone number, and is fully open source
Still some bugs but it's very promising
Finally fixed this with the new Beta version.
Remove the current whatsapp app from your pc. (no need to reboot)
Go to their website ( do NOT use the version from Microsoft store)
https://www.whatsapp.com/download
On your mobile, go to settings > connected devices
tap on connect new device > look for an option to join the new "Multiple devices" beta offer.
(this causes your PC app to be fully separated from your mobile and connect directly to whatsapp network).
Once you accept/join the beta you will have to scan the code again.
good luck!

I'm sorry for your brother, but also would like to advise you that it's not always a good idea throwing a phone number out in the open on the internet like that.
For your case, you should contact WhatsApp support HERE, they should be in a better position to help.
Had the same annoying problem here, play store didn't show any updates but went manually to WhatsApp official website and downloaded the .apk file, if you click on it and it does not download try long pressing the download link then save it to your phone.
Official Site: https://www.whatsapp.com/android/
Please do the following:
If none of the above work, this could as well be a bug. You can raise the issue with WhatsApp here.
I'm not a fan of linking to third party sites like apkmirror. You can always download the latest version of WhatsApp directly from the google play store or the WhatsApp website: https://www.WhatsApp.com/download
Can you elaborate? As long as the messages themselves remain encrypted (unlike say FB Messenger), I'm OK with their data collection practices listed on their privacy policy . DNS level blocking is simply an extra level of privacy protection to block metrics and other usage data from being sent from my devices.
You should contact WhatsApp support via your phone to report the bug (do WhatsApp learns there's a bug to fix), and then through the website you can contact WhatsApp support to request your info as well: https://www.WhatsApp.com/contact/
You can install WhatsApp Business on the phone (available for Android and iOS) and register a second phone number on the same phone without any other special software. I do this for work and personal WhatsApp so I don't have to carry my company-issued phone with me all the time.
More info: https://www.whatsapp.com/business/
They say the customer support usually reply in 24 hours. WhatsApp (WA) will ban you if they either receive reports on your account, detect suspect activity or anything that violates their Terms of Service (TOS).
There is a chance they'll unblock you if someone (a real person) check the logs and understand it was an algorithm failure. If your account data reveals that you violated their TOS then you won't get your account back.
If you didn't to anything wrong, yes, there's a chance your number get unblocked.
same here. just got a random ban. have sent a support ticket to their CS
edit: sent them an email and they unbanned the number in 15-20 mins. Just send them a message on their website https://www.whatsapp.com/contact/
It’s fine, according to whatsapp’s end-to-end encryption.
“...but WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption ensures only you and the person you're communicating with can read what is sent, and nobody in between, not even WhatsApp.” Source
You should be good :).
Really sorry to hear all the chats are gone. This sounds really bizarre.
I would contact WhatsApp directly, never heard of something like this before so it's best to get in contact with support for this. Best of luck.
Boa noite!

As pessoas me visualizam, me mandam mensagens e conseguem me add em grupos, mas não consigo logar de jeito nenhum! Maiores infos estou a disposição pelo reddit. Aproveita e me conte o seu caso ?
Found an solution for me: There´s a new version out, Play Store didnt show me the new Version. New version number is now 2.19.271 @ https://www.whatsapp.com/android/
Downloaded the new version manually and installed it. Whatsapp Web is finally working again.
I found a temporary solution, worked for me.
1. Download the latest apk of WhatsApp(https://www.whatsapp.com/android/)
2. Set your phone's date to the one that is EARLIER than the date which the obsolete error says.
3. Force stop WhatsApp, wait for a while then open it again, the obsolete error should be away by this point.
4. Make a backup and uninstall WhatsApp
5. Reinstall WhatsApp with the latest apk.
I solved this for me. If you downloaded this from the microsoft store, spell check doesn't work. So uninstall that version. Then go to the whatsapp website and download their app.
thanks for this. do you mean the security settings on my phone, i.e. pin security code to unlock the phone?
whatsapp web on the phone is not accessible, it redirects to the www.whatsapp.com page
In Brazil criminals are getting Sim Cards directly from someone inside the telecom with others numbers activated. This allows them to use WhatsApp in scams.
Is your phone working properly? Maybe try turning on WhatsApp's two step https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/general/26000021
I don't know what the solution is but this was so annoying I deleted the app and downloaded it again from https://www.whatsapp.com/download/
just a quick fix that stopped the hassle - at least up until there is another update...
First of all, what do you mean by "log off"? If you have deleted the account, you're most likely out of luck.
Your contacts should be easy. They are saved outside of WhatsApp in most cases. A gmail account, on the SIM-card and so on. As soon as you import them on a new phone, they should be available. And on the same phone, they should obviously still be there.
Your chats are a bit trickier. Generally you are supposed to migrate your chats before you verify the new number. So, judging by the FAQ (for Android) it seems that you're out of luck.
Do you have absolutely no way to use the old number on your phone? No SIM-card or anything?
Just had a look at the FAQ. No idea why the one for iPhone doesn't have a separate backup entry. But in the one for restoring chats there's some information.
When in doubt check the settings, extended options in any menu and long clicking anything you can think of. That's how I figured out this stuff on my Windows Phone before I found this FAQ page. ;)
I'm fairly sure that they do not get deleted. You should probably make backups of your chats. Here's the instructions for doing this on Android.
You can also send a chat via email, which will send the text as a text file and the media separately. Notice the size restrictions. Everything explained in the link above as well.
You'll have to install and activate the app on the new phone.
Chats are - and I'm pretty sure about this - not automatically transferred. Here's Whatsapp's FAQ about it:
https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/iphone/20888066
So if you haven't made a backup, you are probably out of luck.
I was in a similar situation recently after changing from an Android phone to a Windows phone. Currently there is no way to transfer chats in this scenario. So I contacted people who had sent me important messages to either re-send them to me after I had activated my new device, or send entire chats as an email to me (possible from the contact's profile page). You cannot restore chats from that file, but you can read them and you'll have time signatures above every message.
It would probably be a good idea to view that text file with a program like Notepad++.
From the What's New section on the app:
>Your messages, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, and calls are now secured with end-to-end encryption, which means WhatsApp and third parties can't read or listen to them. Messages are automatically end-to-end encrypted: no turning on settings or setting up special secret chats to secure your messages. End-to-end encryption is available when you and the people you message are on the latest versions of WhatsApp. Learn more at https://www.whatsapp.com/security.
Not sure what happened but mine got activated without anyone calling me. Maybe it's up for everyone now (or enabled for certain users)? Try downloading the latest apk from their site directly.
I haven't used Telegram. Does it do the key management for you, or do you need to confirm each device?
See my comment here:
Hmm....
Telegram is not end to end encrypted. See this FAQ post:
https://telegram.org/faq#q-why-not-just-make-all-chats-secret
>Q: Why not just make all chats ‘secret’? > >While all Telegram messages are always securely encrypted, messages in Secret Chats use client-client encryption, while cloud chats use client-server/server-client encryption and are stored encrypted in the Telegram Cloud (more here). This enables your cloud messages to be both secure and immediately accessible from any of your devices, you can also easily find them using server search — which is very useful at times. > >The idea behind Telegram is to bring something more secure to the masses, who understand nothing about security and want none of it. Being merely secure is not enough to achieve this — you also need to be fast, powerful and user-friendly. This allows Telegram to be widely adopted in broad circles, not just by activists and dissidents so that the simple fact of using Telegram does not mark users as targets for heightened surveillance in certain countries.
People will be able to see if you've been online recently or not, but not the exact time when you were last online. As per Telegram's FAQ, they will see:
Try Telegram, https://telegram.org/
Opensource and fully encrypted.. If you have any doubts about their security, they offered a 200,000$ reward for anyone who can break it, see their website.
Telegram is also cloud based, which means you can use it on multiple devices, and they promise it's free and ad-less forever :)
Who talked about iPphone here? I use an andoird app as I said in the first message of the topic. This is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lat.onlinemonitor&hl=pt_BR&gl=US
Like I said, since I use computer to work, I would prefer something on computer.
Then How does mod whatsapp's like FM and GB shows deleted messages? There are apps like (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=the.hexcoders.whatsdelete) which do show the deleted message. I am talking about android guys
I think they're already deleted. Your media storage is what seems to be broke. You can try to fix it with apps like this one.
I don't think there's any service for that. Recording your screen is the only option, I guess.
Or maybe you could try this app.

I'm using this Status Saver:

All I had to do was update it from the Play Store to the latest version to fix it.
If you receive your Android phone you could try: Hush - Call & notification blocker.
Next to blocking SIM based calls it also supports blocking Voip calls like from WhatsApp Business or Skype. It will automatically decline any incoming Voip calls if they happen within your 'blocking rule' timeframe. Hush will also remove the 'missed call' notification that follows after the call.
This is really confusing stage to see "This message was deleted" on your chat. Everyone doesn't know what the message was for? and hence this "View Deleted Messages, Recover all Whats Media " app will help what was the message.

This app can do it. I tried it and it works. If you don't want to spend on the app, there are few freeware programs which can accomplish it, but you'll have to spend quite some time on testing them.
