Just read the 1 star reviews. It is obvious the majority of them are jokes. (even when you sort the reviews by helpfulness) There are even comments trying to dissuade people from moving to iOS, as if this is some sort of political issue or something...
thats the terms of service, you agreed to that but apple locks you into their ecosystem of overpriced bullshit and makes it as hard as possible to move to another platform, on andr9id there is literally an app to Move to IOS
Apple's Move to iOS app for Android worked perfectly for me. It moved my text and phone call histories, as well as contacts, photos, etc.
However, AFAIK, it needs to be done during the initial setup of your iPhone. You can't use it to copy your phone/text histories after the iPhone is setup.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
Apple's "move to iOS" app that basically transfers your data to an iPhone if you're switching over. App itself works just fine, but people are bombarding it with bad reviews because they think Apple and iOS are bad. Funny thing is, you have to install it first before you can review it...
How must then Apple feel https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
:D
Just ignore these types of reviews, they cant really harm your rating on the long run (unless you get thousands of them like Apple)
If you can, hold off. There'll be new iPhones announced in September, and the 2nd gen of a device (IE. The new iPhone X style) is always a vast improvement, and there'll be a couple of screen sizes to pick from.
When you do move, Move to iOS will be your best friend.
> I did read the full FAQ.
Excellent!
1) It isn't supported according to that list, but de facto it may be. Give it a try.
2) I don't use any, I think this "management with an app" thing came over from iOS where people have to rely on iTunes whenever they want to manage their stuff on the phone.
3) As far as I know there's an Android app created by Apple called "Move to iOS". Search for it.
Oh wait, I found it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
You're welcome!
The Move to iOS App will make it easy for him to migrate his data over to an iPhone. I’ve found the concern of losing data is high on the list for reasons to avoid change.
On the same note, iCloud and iTunes backups make it super simple to upgrade iPhones without losing any data at all, you pick up right where you left off. That’s something you don’t see as seamlessly on Android.
You can also use "Move to iOS", which is an Android app developed by Apple to migrate most of the apps from your previous phone to iOS
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
For the most thinks to transfer to IOS there are a APP called Move to IOS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios)
When you don't won't to transfer your Calender,Contacs and Mail you can simple sync it with IOS Here is a how to https://support.google.com/contacts/answer/2753077?co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS&hl=en
There is also a APP for Google Photos in the appstore
I hope this will help a little bit
It's all written in description of the app on Google Play store. Have a look:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
Contacts
Message history
Camera photos and videos
Web bookmarks
Mail accounts
Calendars
Haven't used myself, but: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en_GB
It apparently is an official Apple tool I never heard of that helps you with the transfer. Don't know how it works though or if it covers all of your needs.
There's an app called "Move to iOS" on the Google Play Store that will help transfer things. Here's the app. As far as photos, I'd recommend either Google Photos or after you transfer using the iCloud photo storage option.
As far as waiting vs. buying now goes, you could probably afford to bite the bullet for a few months, rather than spending money on a 7/7+ and trading in, etc. You COULD buy a prepaid version of the SE for ~$200 and then enjoy having a solid backup device when you get a new phone. If you're very attached to the X's screen design, I'd recommend waiting. If you're like me and prefer the old form factor, get the 8+ now. The X and 8+ are nearly identical, save for a few minor camera differences and the OLED screen.
Yeah, neither does freaking Apple. Why should Google change their whole design just to match Apple's when Apple aren't doing it themselves? See "Move to iOS" and "Apple Music". I don't think Apple Music fits in their own design style though.
Use Apple's Move to iOS app when you set up the iPhone for the first time. It'll find the exact same apps when possible and copy over messages and email accounts.
Apple has an app for transferring all your data from an Android device to an Apple device, which is what the message is alluding to.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
Haha, let’s hope!
True. I’m not really sure what to say as the last Android phone I had was the Xperia Play, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I miss being able to completely customise the OS from the get-go but mainly those awesome emulators lol
I’d say give this video a watch if you haven’t already. It goes over some of the features from an Android user’s perspective.
The included ‘Tips’ app will also be there to help you out.
Be sure to use this app to transfer your data over, should make the switch a little easier :)
Look in the Move to IOS
Apple has an app in Play store that will help with Transfer. It’s 50/50 sometimes I’ve had great luck and bad luck doesn’t cost anything but some time so worth a try.
If you don’t use extra security apps should work fine. It basically creates adhoc between the two to transfer photos, apps (if available) contacts and pictures.
In that case you might want to use this, although if I were you I would buy a OnePlus 3, Pixel, or Moto Z. The rating is bad, but that's mostly due to Android fanboys giving it bad reviews for being an Apple product.
The Z5 is as slippery as the iPhone 7 when it comes to the material itself, but the Z5 is clunkier in the hands with sharper edges. So it's kinda easier to hold for me
Transfering your stuff to iPhone is easy as hell. You just need to install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=de
>The Move to iOS app securely transfers all kinds of content for you:
Contacts
Message history
Camera photos and videos
Web bookmarks
Mail accounts
Calendars
Good luck, I'm sure you will love it compared to the edge!
The contact switch over was super easy. I was honestly ready to pick out my most used and manually transfer them. I'm glad I found the app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
What android phone are you using right now?
Personally I haven't used this app yet but it's made by Apple. It transfers your contacts, messages, and apps(if its available on iOS) from your Android phone to your iPhone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
Can you get access to your old phone? Have you tried the Move to iOS app? Or even Google One to backup old phone and restore content on iOS via same app?
You should be more concerned about the transition from Android to iOS than physical sim to esim.
Download the Move to iOS app. Set up the new phone somewhere with reliable wifi and where you can walk away and just let the phones do their thing.
Hint: For most people that's home, not a Verizon store or work.
confermo, ma mi pare che con gli ultimi modelli puoi spostare backup su Gdrive anche con iPhone. Inoltre entrambe le società hanno sviluppato app per una migrazione meno complicata vedi qui
This definitely looks useful, but has anyone tried using Apple’s Switch to iOS app, available on Google Play? It’s supposed to help with transferring contacts, the camera roll, and so on.
I didn’t use it myself when switching from a Pixel to an iPhone but my wife successfully transferred her messages and data using the move to iOS app from her old Xiaomi.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&gl=US
You have to use a 3rd party app or try Move to iOS. I'm in the same position and it seems people like Wutsapper.
> Jak można tak nieprofesjonalnie podchodzić do klienta premiuje?(no bo Apple to przecież prestiż, nie?).
Nie.
Muzyka tylko przez iTunes. Tak, to jest debilizm, ale tak to działa. Ew. normalnie podpinasz nośnik informacji pod telefon i zgrywasz do plików.
Poza tym:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
You need to download Move to iOS app and follow the on-screen prompts.
Note : 1. iOS 15.5 or above installed on your iPhone 2. WhatsApp iOS version 2.22.10.70 (new device) 3. WhatsApp Android version 2.22.7.74 (old device) 4. Use the same phone number as your old phone on your new device* 5. Your iPhone must be factory new or reset to factory settings to pair with the Move to iOS app and move data from your Android phone 6. Both of your devices need to be connected to power and to a same Wi-Fi network.
Here is the official WhatsApp FAQ.
Have you got this to work yourself?
You need to download Move to iOS app and follow the on-screen prompts.
Here this official WhatsApp FAQ.
It's open - I just did it. Once you apply, go to the Play Store, update Whatsapp (it'll download the beta 2.22.14.3). And then download the Move To iOS app on your android and follow the instructions there. I'm just waiting for my iphone to reset so I can carry on the process.
Apple phones have definitely improved in the last few years! Personally the switch wasn't too difficult. I downloaded Move to IOS so transferring pics and stuff was very easy so if you didn't switch yet, i highly recommend downloading this
You should be able to keep the data from your Samsung phone by using the “Move to iOS” app available on Google Play.
Dacă vrei sa treci pe iOS exista aceasta aplicație https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en&gl=US care îți migrează datele pe iOS. E făcută de Apple deci e ceva safe.
I was referring to the Move to iOS app on Google Play, which helps Android users transfer over their data. Sorry if that was unclear!
You can connect your Google Account to it, so contacts, notes, … will be visible once you log in. But there is an app as well.
The important things to know:
I recently switched from my Pixel 3a to iPhone 12 mini, and I was able to do so very quickly and without any hiccups. Most things exist in the cloud these days, and phones are very intuitive on both sides, so getting everything you need from one phone to the other should require nothing more than half an hour or so!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en_US&gl=US -- looks like they have an app that migrates from the android market to iphone, have you tried this already? Honestly not sure if it would transfer the RandomDice info.
The iPhone 11 is a great phone - it was the “budget” flagship of last year, meaning it still runs with the big dogs.
As far as the transition from android to iOS, there is an android app (Move to iOS) that allows you to transfer information over easily. I’ve not used this in a while, so couldn’t say what it does/does not transfer, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find information on the play store page.
Hope this helps
If you use the free "Move to iOS" app from the Google Play store, it should move over all of your text messages. Just did this when I helped a friend go from Android to iOS, and it worked flawlessly.
I have not done this myself, but an Apple or phone carrier store should be able to help you out.
You should try out the moveToIos app on the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en_US (it‘s the official app made by apple)
Continuing the same chat with imessage that you began with sms can be a little quirky sometimes - make sure you don’t put the apple-id email adress and phone number on 2 different contacts in your contacts app :)
Hi, can you please tell me how to move your data when moving from Android phone to iPhone?
I know there's an apple app. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201196
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
But the reviews are quite horrible, is there a better way?
HAve you tried this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
No idea if it will work. Seems like it works for some apps and not others.
Since you’re on 12.4.1, you can’t jailbreak (yet but with checkm8, your device will be jailbroken for life, no matter what iOS version you have once it’s released)...
For now... You can use DNSCloak and use a DNS server that blocks ads to block ads system-wide (it uses a false VPN entry)
For YouTube, you can sideload YouTube++ with Cydia Impactor on your computer or use a signing service (those cannot be mentioned here but Google will help you)...
For memes and music, you can use iTunes to transfer everything over or the Move to iOS app on the Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios)
you can't transfer app directly but you ca automatize the process with this android app by apple
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
If you haven't already done so, make use of an app created by Apple to migrate Android users over to the iOS platform.
If you can, hold off. There'll be new iPhones announced in September, and the 2nd gen of a device (IE. The new iPhone X style) is always a vast improvement, and there'll be a couple of screen sizes to pick from.
When you do move, Move to iOS will be your best friend.
Although there are many reports of it not working properly, a potential solution is the Move to iOS app on Google Play.
Move to IOS worked really well for me to get my phone call history and texts copied over, along with photos, docs, etc., but it had to be done during the initial setup.
This app should move everything everything from your android to a new iPhone. It's meant for a phone out of the box though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
I understand it won't move apps, it's contacts and texts she's looking to move.
You download the app on the old phone and then reset your iPhone and select "move data from Android"
http://www.ubergizmo.com/how-to/transfer-texts-from-android-to-iphone/
From Android to Apple, you can use the Move to iOS app. You can also add your Google account to manage your contacts.
N/A - Someone else can answer this better than I can.
Apple Store app or Apple.com at 6ish AM will update your local store's stock for an in-store reservation.
You can use backuptrans, but the free version only transfers a limited number of chats.
If you're not willing to pay for a software you're going to use only once, I'd recommend you to take screenshots of your schedules and the messages you want to keep, and save them along with the attachments on Google Drive, unless you can just transfer them to your new iPhone using Move to iOS.
You can also keep your old phone to check your schedules until you update your new iPhone with them, or as an archive for your old chats and conversations. But don't forget to remove the SIM card and disable all Wi-Fi options!
The folder structure will change due to the way that different apps on different operating systems organize the meta data on your photos. There is an app that you can use to migrate your data from your Android phone to your iPhone that makes the process much easier to execute but the fact that you have 14,000 photos will likely pose issues concerning transfer time because of the sheer volume of storage that the said amount of photos takes up. That app is located at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
Jailbreaking is awesome if you love customization, but keep in mind that there is currently no public jailbreak for iOS 10. It is possible, and has already been done by security researchers, but no public tools have been released as of yet.
iOS handles permissions in an entirely different way than Android. All apps, by default, have no access to anything outside of the sandboxed environment that they run in. You can manually allow and revoke access to anything the app is requesting in Settings.
Unfortunately, there are no ways to transfer purchases or recoup any investments. You can, however, transfer all of your data over using an Apple-made app, found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
This app seems to be getting good reviews.. ;)
Just kidding :) Welcome to Android! I'll be posting some of my favorites later on..
Pretty much everything that can be done has already been said, but you might want to check out this to help you get everything set up. It's made by Apple, so it's not some fake app out to steal your identity.
I love how they put those little "rate your immigration inspector" button surveys on the outside of the immigration booths - if they did that in the US (with the TSA or with customs) you'd end up with something that looked like Apple's Move to iOS Android app.
big dick move, and with an average rating of 1.8 it seems that many people are doing it also.
3,000+ people have given it a 1 star rating
EDIT: it is now 30,000+
Download the Move to iOS app from the Google Play Store on her Galaxy S5. It will walk you through the process.
Hi, I myself switched from Android to IOS this Friday and here's what I did.
> 1.) What's the easiest way to transfer my files from my Android to my new iphone. I read the move to Mac app is useful for this.
I used the Move to IOS app which copied all my stuff and amazingly installed the apps I had on Android (Paid ones exempted).
> 2.) Are screen protectors really necessary? I've never used one on any of my android devices. I plan on using a case but I've seen many shatter iphone screens and I'd like input on if screen protectors are recommend and if so what brand.
Would love to know this myself as I've never used on before.
> 3.) I know that you can't access system files, and all of that or set default apps on the iphone. Neither of those are deal breakers. Is there anything else I should be prepared for that's massively different?
> 4.) I normally use my phone for emailing, texting, facebook, reddit, youtube and netflix type applications. Are there any along those lines that any of you would specifically recommend. I'm open to suggestions as I'm always on the lookout for new stuff.
The Reddit apps on IOS are underwhelming when compared to Relay, Sync and Boost. I've tried Antenna, Narwhal, Official Reddit App and Bacon Reader and I found the later (Bacon) to be the closest to the Android experience. Other than that, the rest are better than their ANdroid counterpart.
There's a "move to iOS" app on the Google Play store which can help with the transition.
Android to iOS
Download: Move to iOS App
iOS to iOS
Before you sell your old iPhone, follow these steps: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351
When you do switch use the Move to iOS app.
You can download Move to iOS app from the play store and transfer over all your data
They're referencing the Android app Apple created specifically to do what you're asking.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
Yes, to do this just look for iPhones that are unlocked, which means you can use them with any carrier. You can take your SIM card from the S6 and put it in the iPhone.
That depends if you want a brand new phone or a used phone. You can get used phones from Gazelle, or eBay.
Yes, Apple has an Android app specifically for this purpose, called Move to iOS.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
It moves sms, contacts, and apps
^^^^^/s
There are a number of good choices out there. The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge or S6 Edge Plus are solid bets.
The HTC One A9 is also available directly from HTC.
If eliminating Android bloat is a priority, grab a Nexus 5x or Nexus 6p. The Moto X Pure Edition is another option.
Would you consider an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus? You can easily migrate everything over with the Move to iOS App.
With iPhone Forever, you may also qualify for a Loyalty Service Credit, depending on your service plan.
Try using an AirPort Extreme and/or this app.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what the "Move to iOS" app is designed to do?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en_US
Your best bet would be to start by listing the apps you use frequently/like the most on your Android phone. Some of the bigger-name apps probably have equivalent versions on the iOS App Store. For the rest, you could probably ask around and in /r/IPhoneApps about what apps work best on iOS to replace the ones on Android.

The Move to iOS app is definitely the best way to migrate your data over. It should pretty effectively move everything over.

Definitely get a Qi charging pad if you don't have one already. If you already have Android charging pads, they'll work for regular (slow) charging on your iPhone. For fast charging, these are a decent price.

And as far as nuances with the iPhone XS/Max, this video from Apple does a pretty good job of laying out the basics, particularly what's changed from non-FaceID iPhones, though it does have the typical Apple cheese to it.
Have you tried the “Move to iOS” app?
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
Move to iOS app should do move most of your files, not sure about game data though https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en_GB
Use the Move to iOS app that is on the Play Store
The same thing has existed for a while to go the other way, Android to iOS.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en
To add on to this, OP can also use the Move to iOS app Apple created to just transfer everything over in one go.
Just gonna remind everyone that this exists
All of it's data is pretty easily transferable. Hell, Apple even has a Move to iOS app.
The other thing is that almost all of Google's stuff is available on the web. You can get to your photos and contacts through the web (photos and Gmail).
Music, I'm not sure about. I have the $10/month for Google Music All Access so I don't actually own anything that I listen to. That being said, I believe google offers you the ability to download to your machine copies of any music you've paid for. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Texts, not sure about. I've never had any texts that I absolutely must keep.
Welcome to Sprint!

Use the Move to iOS App
maybe this app can help - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
I don't know much about android but I think you can use this app.
Within Android, I'm pretty sure each OEM's proprietary transfer software (Samsung Smart Switch, Huawei Phone Clone etc.) works while transferring to said OEM's device, regardless of the source.
When transferring from iOS to Android, Google recently released "Switch to Android" on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/switch-to-android/id1581816143
Vice versa, Apple have their own "Move to iOS" app available on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios&hl=en_GB&gl=US
Both apps are able to transfer contacts, message history, calendars and other basic information. Media is also transferred between iCloud and Google Photos, and free apps that are available on both stores can also be transferred (though I believe app data is impossible).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.movetoios
Try this app, with it you'll move all your data from android to iOS
While I can't stand Apple as well, I feel obligated to correct you. There Are Exactly Four. An app that makes it easier to switch to iphone, Apple music, the Beats app and the tracker blocker. The last one probably only exits because of a shitstorm due to air tags being a stalkers dream. The best rated of those is Apple music with 3,6. From skimming recessions all of them seem rather wonky and unstable on Android right now
well, there's Apple's official Move to iOS

well Apple deserve it, Google has always made their apps to be available on all platforms but Apple not and when they choose to do so, what they did? uploaded an app that ask you to move from android to IOS? F**K THEM.
Actually, Apple has made one service available for Android recently. :)
