Everyone should already have it, but Google Calendar is really great for keeping track of your schedule. I'm in grad school, so I know my schedule months in advance. Before semester starts, I spend half an hour or so putting all my classes in. Meetings, appointments, etc go in there as well, once I learn when they are.
I think it's a connection with Google Now (or Google Experience Launcher), but I also make sure to put addresses for things, and so it lets me know when I should be leaving. The downside is that it doesn't account for time spent finding a place to park, and it assumes that you can park right out front (so it doesn't account for time to walk to class from where you park). But, it gives you a notification about 20 minutes before it thinks I have to leave, which gives me enough time. It takes traffic into account for this, which is nice.

If you have an ical link/URL, you should be able to login to your Google account on a PC, go to Google Calendar and add the shared calendar to your account.
From there, I think you should be able to see it in S Planner (it uses Google Calendar as the back-end), or you could install Google Calendar.
>u/NoSelf5757 - ...lineageos 19 and mindthegapps the calendar app isn't connected with my google account. If I want to connect it says it's already connected with that account...
Try Calendar app's info > Storage & cache > Clear storage, reboot & wait 2 minutes before opening Calendar.
Normally you can force a fresh sync with > Settings > Accounts > your Gmail account > Account sync > Calendar > toggle off then back on.
Since your setup includes a GApps package what happens if you install the Google Calendar app?
Google Calendar and Samsung Calendar are two separate apps. AFAIK Samsungs come with both pre-installed, but Google Calendar may be disabled or not syncing by default.
Go to Google Calendar, open the drawer on the left (the three horizontal lines menu) and make sure it doesn't say Enable sync next to your Google account. If it does, do enable sync.
Google Assistant reminders are saved in your Google account and only Google Calendar can read and sync them, that's why it's confusing on Samsungs, where there's two accounts, two assistants, two calendar apps etc.
When I set it to English (Sweden), week 2 is --01-11/--01-17, as according to ISO. Make sure it says Monday as the first day of the week. If it's set to Sunday, week 2 will be --01-10/--01-16 instead. You can change first day of the week in the app settings.
You can try to disable week numbering, force closing the app (open recents and swipe it away), and then open it and enable week numbering again. That might refresh it. You can also try restarting your device.
Are you using Google Calendar? Some people have made the mistake thinking the Samsung Calendar is the official in Android. The left side menu should say "Google Calendar" if you got the right one. If you aren't using the Google Calendar, the one you're using might be faulty.
Chrome doesn't have a calendar, it's just a Web browser.
You just need to login to your Google account on your phone with the Android or iOS app for Google Calendar.

Google Calendar - If you've had enough with trying different tasks apps or reminder apps I suggest you try Google Calendar. It's very easy to use, it's made for everyone (you don't have to be crazy busy to use it) and most importantly it doesn't throw many unecessary features at you. I put everything i want to be reminded of in it, even the simplest things like watching a movie this is because i usually forget things and I got tired of that, It's also well integrated with google keep and tasks. Honestly it's my favourite google app.
Bitwarden - It's a simple free password manager that works out of the box and open-source.
sure: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar
you can track whatever you want, you can have many different calendars for different topics, you can have reminders. and best of all, there is solid chance, you already have the app.
I'm assuming you're using the TouchWiz/Samsung calendar, try the stock Android calendar. Link
I'm sure there's some setting you can change, I doubt something that obvious would get past Samsung QC. I am not a Samsung user so I'll leave that to someone else.
Most phones have it already installed (on my samsung as s-planner, other phones as Agenda). Ah, I am Dutch, it is google calendar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar
Calendar wise - The google stock one works well and the ability to access it on a desktop and share with others make it actually pretty impressive. If you need a widget for the home screen then I can't but recommend resizeable cal widget on the app store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.eggenstein.android.calwidget2&hl=en
Calculators wise this will be down to personal choice, there are 100s of options and depends how in depth and the range of features you need. If you need basic then it's going to be a very difference choice to if you need a full on scientific graphing calculator app.
Never heard of ARKick but it looks quite interesting and novel. Persoanally I use google now to find stuff when I need it and google maps as you can get a map view and the reviews pretty quickly.
thanks!!! this is the app I am using
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar&hl=en
along with this to give me the alerts (because it has better snooze functionality)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitfire.development.calendarsnooze&hl=en
I use Google Calendars. You can sync on pretty much any device. On Mac, you can just sync it to the Apple Calendar program. They have an Android app here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar&hl=en
To have it send you an email summary, log into Google Calendars in a browser, to go to the Gear icon > Settings > Calendar (small blue link, upper left) > Edit notifications (for the calendar you want). Check the box for "Daily agenda" and click the Save button. As far as Facebook sync goes, it looks like you can add birthdays & stuff by copying the URL:
https://androidscrib.com/how-to-sync-facebook-events-to-google-calendar/
Do you have your work schedule in a calendar (e.g. Google Calendar) now? That would make it easy to work with. Or, if you work the same hours each week, profiles could be created based on that.
I've ran into this issue before, install the Google Calendar app and then the option to sync calendar should magically appear in your account settings.
I have had some trouble in the past with the Samsung calendar app. Download the Google Calendar app and see if it knows your stuff.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar
Do you have Google Calendar installed on your phone? You have to have that app installed on your phone in order for the sync to work.
Google's calendar app is updated in the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar
(Not that I care too much about it, I've switched to Sunrise since Google's last updates).
Calendar events have to have specific time when they start to vibrate so all day calendar events don't vibrate. If it still doesn't vibrate then just download Google Calendar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar
It helps if you set up your schedule from a PC browser. You've got easier control over things.
Then make sure that calendar syncs with this app /widget combo.
You'll need a Google account - probably the one you've set up with your phone.
Then you can change your notification sounds to something to your taste.

I used to look at apps all the time too, but I found that I had ridiculously high standards and I wasn't really a major smartphone user so even if I found things I'd never use them on a daily basis.
Here's some I would recommend, though.
Google Calendar - Appointments and events. It syncs to the desktop version so I don't have to worry about losing dates or going days without using my phone and missing an appointment.
Ike - If I don't feel like wasting paper, I'll use this to sort my plans out when I feel the urge to do everything at once. Gives you four categories---focus, goals, fit in, and backburner.
Today's Tasks - After I'm done sorting things with Ike, I work my way down the categories with this. Although Ike works perfectly fine as a task app, I like having my tasks front and center the moment I open the app, and I think it gives me a sense of urgency to only be able to plan today or tomorrow.
Timely - Comes with some nice relaxing alarms to wake up to and the timer, being a timer, can be useful for pomodoros.
Google Keep - Notes on the go! Again, syncs to the desktop version.
Dayboard - Not a smartphone app, but a chrome extension that reminds you of your priorities when you go to a blocked site and has a daily to do list everytime you open the tab.
I just switched from iOS to Android last summer. Here are some of my favorites:
Google Calendar - a better stock app than the calendar, I also believe it is better than sunrise.
Weather Timeline - An excellent, clean weather app. Provides very, in-depth hour-by-hour forecasts.
Google Chrome - Better than the stock one; Lightning isn't bad either
Google Messenger - Clean and good messaging for SMSes. Free and no ads.
Cabinet - Simple and clean, no ads file explorer. You'll notice how awesome these are coming from iOS.
Google Clock - Better than the stock ones!
Units - A helpful but less used app. Still nice to have!
Galaxy Button Lights - If you have a Galaxy, you can change the lights. Helpful for using phone at night.
Phonograph - The BEST music player out there. Has a dedicated developer. Free and no ads.
reddit is fun - reddit app, but the Official one is now released. Try that one first.
Clipboard Actions - Takes what you just copied or cut and put it up in your notification shade for a whole bunch of other things you can do with it.
Google Keyboard - A good replacement keyboard.
EDIT: formatting (i always dick it up)
A couple that I use. (Android User) 1. Google Calendar Great for keeping track of things I need to do later in the week. I have tried other calendar apps but I keep coming back to this one. 2.Pzizz New app I've been trying. Helps me calm down and sleep. Also helps me focus at work. Combo of prescription and this app. 3. Google Tasks Pretty simple, I tend to have random ideas and thought about things. Don't use it as a task manager more as a notepad.
Tried many different apps, these are the three I continue to use over time. I've added links to help find them
I am a daily Google Calendar user on a Chromebook and you have a few good options to choose from:
Use the Google Calendar Android app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar&hl=en_US
Use the Chromebook app from the Chrome Web Store. If I remember correctly this is just a glorified shortcut to the website. Keep in mind you may want to enable notifications to stay informed.
OR
Create your own shortcut using Chrome. https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/3060053?hl=e
Good luck!
> access/update on my phone and computer. Is Google Calendar best for that?
Yep. Especially seeing you have an Android phone, it's probably already installed on your phone by default, just login to your Google account.
And bookmark https://calendar.google.com/calendar on your computer's browser bookmark bar.
No reason to use anything else really.
> lots of different lists and have them easily accessible on my phone and computer
I've tried a million different systems for this kind of stuff. For you use: https://trello.com/
I use it for all my personal stuff, and also with clients.

I've read a lot and honestly believe that the first thing you need to do is to gain productivity skills, and then move to choosing productivity tools. Here's a nice article by Maura Thomas on this topic: https://hbr.org/2016/08/until-you-have-productivity-skills-productivity-tools-are-useless
From my personal experience it's important:
1) Start filtering tasks and prioritize them (why do I need to do this, how important is it, etc)
2) Write them down as something easily measurable (create smaller tasks that could be completed during 1h or less)
3) Keep the to-do list clear (when it's messy it really annoying and don't want to even look at it)
4) Track the time and plan accordingly, because usually, we tend to over-plan...
5) If you're using some app, make sure it fits well to your workflow. Choose calendar tools that can be simply integrated with your todo app (Google Calendar+Focuster, in my case). Try to cover the basic needs you have and do not overwhelm yourself with tools. If you need something to get started with, I would recommend start using pen and paper and get stick to the planning recommendations above (fewer tasks for the day, prioritization, time tracking etc).
I hope it will help.

How is it garbage? It's so much easier to access the different camera modes; Portrait mode used to take two taps and a few seconds of loading to get to, and now it's just a single swipe.
