That is incorrect, there are 3rd party apps that are reviewed very well and takes you out Xiaomi's walled garden.

Notify & Fitness for Mi Band. It's a good third-party app for the mi band but the user interface may be a bit confusing for new users
Mi Fit only syncs steps and activities (and sleep, not that you can see it anymore!) not heart rate. You need Tools & Mi Band or Notify & Fitness for Mi Band
You can use Notify For Mi Band (for Android only, download : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=fr&gl=US)
I use it since my first Mi band, it work pretty well, offline and no ask to useless permissions !
A cheap MiBand 2 ($25) and the app Notify & Fitness for Mi Band can do this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
The app can let you pair the MiBand to your phone. If the phone goes out of Bluetooth range, then the MiBand will vibrate and flash a message. There are even necklaces to hold the MiBand if you don't want to wear it like a watch. I assume there are other fitness trackers with similar functions too.
if you're using Android, i recommend using the Notify & Fitness, it has a variety of exercises and you can share it with google fit, strava and ,other third party fitness apps(some features may need the pro version, but is worth the money).
Does depend on your use case somewhat. I have a number of smart watches including the BIP, but my daily driver is the Ticwatch E. I live with the battery life because it offers me enough of everything I want. If I want to record real activity tracking I'll throw on my Garmin.
If all you really want is time, basic weather, basic notifications and activity tracking with great battery life then the BIP might work for you. Getting recorded tracks out of the Mi Fit environment is quite a manual process but is possible with the https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 app. The heart rate monitor works fine for me, but doesn't work for shit for my wife.
If you *really* want great activity tracking with also great battery life but even worse notification support then perhaps a Garmin might suit you better. I have a Forerunner 235. What makes it better than the BIP is physical buttons for stuff, better GPS accuracy and easier recorded track management/integration. No google fit steps syncing though! Also, way more expensive.
Nothing is going to beat Wear OS for notification management though and you pretty much can't do anything other than read them on a BIP or Garmin. Old Pebble watches are pretty good but not really viable anymore.
I'm also fairly new to the Mi Band stuff. I feel like Notify & Fitness and Tools & Mi Band are the most popular 3rd party apps. I use the latter one to customize notifications and Sleep as Android integration. Haven't used Notify & Fitness though
You can use the This App and start an activity.
Alternatively, you can turn on the continuous rate monitoring and discovery mode on. This will allow other apps to see it as a HR monitor. And from then I recommend using Moov which has HIIT programs that look into your heart rate and calculate calories properly.
Not to be rude, but the name is in the screenshot "Notify & Fitness for Mi Band". I've used it for a long time but the dev kept adding stuff and trying to make it an all in one fitness app. This wasn't for me so I switched to "Mi Band Tools" but my SO is still using it just fine because she's used to it and doesn't want to change.
As I said not a bad app by any means it works as expected for the notification stuff, but I can't say much about the rest as I'm mostly interested in the notifacation features.
Here's the link --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en
I had the same problem.
Install the free version of "Notify for Mi Band: Your privacy first" app and disable the alarms from there.
Here is the link from Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Yes, Mi Band 5 offers tons of data. Steps, calories etc. Take a look at the screenshots of the Notify app. It's not an official app, but you get an idea what data is recorded with the Mi Band.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
I personally use Notify & Fitness: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Worth every cent I paid for the pro version!
It's a different app. Notify & Fitness, by OneZeroBit, updated recently to make it work without the Mi Fit app. Tools & Mi Band (or Mi Band Tools), by Tools & Wearables Ltd does not work without the Mi Fit App. I've sent feedback to the developer about it and I'm currently waiting for a response.
Notify & Fitness for Mi Band - the most rich-featured you can find for the moment. I love how many details it offers after each running session, without requiring a premium account, such as Endomondo.
I also wanted workouts (primarily running) synced to Strava from the Mi Smart Band 4 and this can be done on Android using the Notify & Fitness for Mi Band app with the "3rd party tracking" IAP. I'm still in the process of configuring this myself which is a little tricky as the app's UI is very hard to wade through due to so many features and settings for a ton of different things.
With the MSB4 being so new, I'm sure there will be fixes and new features coming for the app in the near future too.
As if you needed another reason to use an alternate app like Notify (which doesn't even require the official app) or Tools & MiBand (which works along side of the official app). I can't even remember the last time I looked at the official app.
Search the play store for mi band or mi band 3 and you'll find a few apps there. I use "Notify and Fitness for Mi Band" and it works perfectly for that as I can set the heart rate monitor interval and customise the notifications and icons. There are other apps on the play store too https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Obs.: a minha é a Mi Band 2.
> I need a separate heart rate chart for each fitness session, is this possible or is it a continuous chart?
Most applications use a continuous chart. Mi Fit allows you to say "I'm going to go running" but nothing splits charts automatically.
> Can it track beats per second (instead of per minute)?
I know of no consumer devices (off the top of my head) that actually have this accuracy and granularity (even chest strap monitors use BPM). Most anything giving seconds is likely taking the BPM and dividing.
>Does it need to be connected to a smartphone during the fitness session?
If you want real-time heart rate data, yes. Without an App the band is limited in the intervals it can check at. (IIRC: 1min, 10min or 30min)
> If it doesn't need to be connected to a smartphone during tracking, how many sessions can its memory hold approximately? (I just need to know if the memory is really limited or not)
The memory is limited, it is not intended to be used separate from the app for any real length of time. The commonly accepted answer is that the band can store 10-15 days without being connected to the app. But that may decrease with higher intervals.
> Can I export the heart rate charts outside of the app?
With applications such as Notify & Fitness or Tools & Mi Band you can. I'm not aware of the iOS offerings but I know on that platform it is more restricted.
also got it a few days ago. I am no trying this app. it offers a lot more functionality.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Something I noticed, the heart rate sensor seems to run a little hot, do you also feel this?
You can set the language manually in the Notify & Fitness for Mi Band Android App (Play Store). For changing the language I think you won't even need the premium edition.
I bought both Notify & Fitness for Mi Band and Mi Band Tools . I couldnt decide which one i prefer, they both excel at diff things. Tools has way simpler UI and custom vibration settings (easier to get the dessired pattern), Notify & fitnes has way more and detailed excercise options.
Notify can work without the official app, tools cant.
I haven't used my mi-band in a while because like you said it's pretty bad really. The problem with those arm bad is that anything you do count as walking, probably even typing on your computer. I tried to use it as cardiofrencency meter when running but even then, half the time it wasn't pulling proper numbers.
Imo, just use google fit to log your steps, and I guess like most people you don't get outside your place without your phone. I don't know anything about the sleep thing so I can't help on that either.
You might want to try Notify & Fitness app, it's a lot better than official mi app, some features are premium locked tho.
Edit : gonna try to do it and I'll let you know if I manage anything.
Tasker and Notify & Fitness for Mi band should work. The app specifically states in a FAQ that that's one of the intents it can fire / receive.
I am testing on Android.
I think I will be only comparing a couple days instead of a week. I have to calculate the heart rate data manually after extracting. Fitbit works with 5 minutes averages. So 290 datapoints per day per device to compare it. Because of this being a lot of work and I haven't found a automated method I think I will choose for only comparing a day or a couple of days.
When people can help, that would be great. Then I can do a week. Maybe someone knows a automated method?
Edit: Some extra information, I will be using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
no i believe good support with the app "Notify for Mi Band" with of ended with the Mi Band 6 https://mibandnotify.com/help/help_fw_encrypt_limitation.php
Haven't used the official mi app for ages (and don't even have it installed anymore) but If you install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 then you can turn on BLE discoverable that works with esphome ble tracking with miband 6. (Although maybe mine works because I don't have the official app anymore & just use that app for tracking too and it's the official app that turns off BLE discoverable after phone connects)
Same developer as have an app for amazfit too which id assume has the same option https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1
I don't know if it's still relevant for you but I managed to sync my workouts somewhat properly with the pro version of the Notify for Mi Band app.
I always used the free version for my sleep tracking but noticed the pro version offers sync with Google Fit. It's a bit of work to get it to actually sync but the result in Google Fit is pretty decent.
I was going to suggest the Mi band. I've been using them since the Mi band 3, currently have a 5. I recommend using the Notify app instead of the regular one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Hi, install Notify for Mi Band.
Go through the setup, then click the settings icon at the top right. Now click on Tools and search for Update Mi Band firmware. Click on Stock firmware and then click Ok. Now the latest firmware should download and your watch should update. You might need to complete it in Zepp Life (Mi Fitness).
Hi, you can try flashing it with Notify for Mi Band.
After pairing it with the app (no need to unpair anything), go to the last icon at the top. Click on tools.
Now click on Update firmware. Click on Stock firmware. Select the first or second option. Now wait for the firmware file to download and your band should be updating.
After the update, Mi Fitness might ask for additional update. You can just do that too.
After everything done, you can just uninstall Notify for Mi Band.
I did this once and it worked for me.
Notify for mi band, it doesn't sync data from Mi Fit to Google fit but it recollects your band info stores it and if you want send it to Google fit. It's a really good app, a must if you ask me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
I had a siwilar problem with Mi Band 5, it seems like a problem of Whatsapp and Mi Fit. I have installed Notify for Mi Band which gets notifications better
Hi there 😀 I have bought the new miband 6 nfc from Amazon (Italy) and have added my curve card. However I have tried to pay on 2 occasions using nfc payment, and both times it failed. Do you know why this might be? Do I need to keep the official Mifit or Xiaomi Wear app on my phone, as I have uninstalled them as I prefer this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Your help would be much appreciated. 👍
I found it in the fitness and notify third party app. The setup for it however isn't straight forward but has a lot of functionality exceeding the official Mi app.. if you're on iOS I'd say you're out of luck.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Try notify app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
This app is better than the original MiFit App. In this app if you look around you will see the option of 'Amazfitwatchfaces', from there you can download and sync watch faces directly to your mi band 6.
Try Notify for Mi Band. It can be fully integrates with MacroDroid.
I wrote about on MacroDroid forum.
I solved this problem by installing:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
After install and set up the alarm over this app everything works and I found out that this app has many additional features that I like and use daily on my band.
I personally love mi fit it has all the features presented in a very neat way i have also heard about notify for mi band but never used that i didn't like the interface but if you want to try here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
One more thing you have to enable something in main mi fit app before pairing with notify hopefully u must have read till here or it would suck later 😂😂
ah, just some hidden features and stuff, mhh, i would truly say, dont use the Mi Fit app, it works well, but just has the "normal" features of the band. if you want to have more options for settings, like continuous heart rate monitoring outside of training, more options for sleep tracking, answer test messages via the bands music player and so on try the app ive mentioned above. Thats imho the best option to enhance the features of your mi band. Notify & Fitness for Mi Band
Else i dont know what to tell you. the band has no option for answering calls or text messages by default, the app you choose on your phone makes it do more than Xiaomi has intended!
If you want to sync your data from Mi Fit to Google Fit, you can use Notify for Mi Band.
It has a setting to auto-sync data at a certain interval.
The settings might seem confusing, but once you get the hang of it, there are many other features you can use too.
Tons of features! Integration with Sleep as Android is great.
That was happening to me too for a few days. Now I'm usingthe Notify and Fitness app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Use this modified mi fit to get the auth key. https://geekdoing.com/threads/modified-mi-fit-4-7-0-all-in-one.2528/
After that you can remove mi fit and enjoy your band without the stupid spam :)
There are threads devoted to creating layouts, and the Notify for Mi Band app has some built-in features to help. (I've never used them, so can't say any more)
I had same issue with my MI band. try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en&gl=US
As far as I am aware, you can only sync Mi Fit to Google Fit.
While you can also connect Strava to Google Fit, it is a one-way sync from Strava to Google Fit.
Strava has just announced that they are bringing back the ability to connect Bluetooth devices directly to Strava. This was a feature in the past and was removed for a long time. I am unsure if you'll be able to pair your Mi Band with Strava.
Another option are third party apps like Notify for Mi Band, which I believe supports syncing directly to Strava (potentially paid feature). Same goes for Zepp (formerly Amazifit). I don't use these apps myself, but worth investigating.
Gadgetbridge is a good choice; I tried it on Mi Band 4 and had to use the fake Mi Fit app to pair it. I didn't like Gadgetbridge a lot, as it's not so user friendly.
Now I'm using Notify for Mi Band, very customizable and with better stats than the stock app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en try this app, i use it for customizing all my notifications and exporting my data to google fit and the like. Can try it out but totally worth the pro edition if you own a mi-band in my opinion
That's the Notify & Fitness app! Amazingly shitty UI and stuff, but very useful app. I've bought the in-app stuffs for Strava sync and other export options like Google Fit, so I rarely need to open the app! Notification customisation is such a useful feature too! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
I also have a mi band, but earlier model. I have some skepticism of Chinese software so I use Notify and Fitness instead of the included app.
Notify & Fitness for Mi Band
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
It's even better when you get rid of Mi Fit (you have to get the auth key by installing modified Mi Fit: https://www.freemyband.com/ )
Ditto, I'm using this app in place of the Mi App. I just bought the pro version to support the developer. Offers a lot more options than the default Mi App. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
I use Notify & Fitness for Mi Band, there's also Tools & Mi Band but haven't used that one in a while, used it mostly with the MI Band 2.
Notify & Fitness has a (cheap) in app purchase which will allow you to sync directly to Strava and Google Fit.
Works as a charm!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
>What's an ideal, streamlined setup for using the Band 4? Which apps, etc. Do I need anything paid? Important settings I should look out for?
Here's what I use personally. What sold me over was the custom firmware that supports emojis plus a lot of additional features not available in the stock Mi Fit app. I don't even use the official app anymore. Just this one. I even bought the premium version because I've been extremely satisfied with it. Strongly recommended.
What mobile device are you using?
If Android, try using third party apps (Notify and Fitness) to pair the band, once you paired it, you can reset in the MiBand and try to pair with Mi Fit App. I'm not sure for iOS devices if there are any third party application you can use to pair.
Also, download this app, it's only for Android users. And check you firmware version before doing so. Happy new firmware to y'all, peace.
Edit: For anyone looking for a solution, I tried Notify and Fitness by onezerobit(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en_SG) and it looks like the best solution at the moment. You need to buy the 'Pro' package in order to sync to Google Fit though but so far after tinkering for a few weeks, it works for me.
Set up i have
Notify and fitness app from play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
In app > settings > tools > tasker integration
All intents are available there, it's supports all mi bands till 4.
It's a paid app and to answer for MI FIT(official) is not supported by takser.
This app is also useful if you have sleep as Andriod.
Notify and Fitness, as others mentioned, best app hands down.
my redmi note 4x has the problem that i have to sometimes re-enable the notification access, to actually get bluetooth notifications, but thats probably not the apps fault.
I'm using the Mi Band 2 with just Notify & Fitness for Mi Band. So many extra features, including full Google Fit and Sleep as Android integration. There is also <br> Tools & Mi Band but I liked that less when I tried it a year ago.
I used the Mi Fit app to set it up originally, no idea if that is actually required. Uninstalled now.
/r/miband

Notify & Fitness is a third party app for the Mi Band and Mi Band 2 - does the same thing as MiFit but allows for more functionality. Highly recommended.
It's actually a pulse watch. From my experience it's reliably accurate but the official companion app is very limited. So I use a third-party app instead. Lot's of customisation including manually set your running pace, daytime sleep recording (official companion app only supports nighttime sleep) and supports more notification from apps. Very tiny, sweatproof, can use it to find your phone, control media, take or reject calls, great battery life and unintrusive at all. I think the reason why I'm very satisfied with it is because it's too cheap but has a lot to offer once I coupled it with the app. I don't do outdoor because the weather is too hot so I just use it on treadmill and other gym stuff.
I use the Mi Band 2 ($20-30 USD) recommended from the Jawbone reddit. Jawbone will cut its consumer goods so don't buy them! I got a MoveUp for $7 for this reason!
Mi Band 2 has GPS, HR, notification, and syncs with Google Fit (I'm not sure of the iOS equivalent but they have and iOS version) If you want a visual map for your movement, checkout Google Fit (app or website), or a 3^rd party Notify & Fitness (by opening Workouts, enabling GPS tracing).
I don't need gps tracking, but want music control so I use the Pro version of Mi Band Master.
Check out r/miband, or this Q&A from a user
Notify & Fitness for Mi Band
I'm a bit late on this post, but could someone explain to me the advantages of Mi Band Tools over the above app? I use this app with my Mi Band 2, and its feature set seems larger (if somewhat redundant with the official app, though I have completely removed the official app, using this one instead).
You can constantly check your heart rate but i bought the pro version of this app for it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=es
The only problem is that the screen of the miband 2 turn off after a couple of seconds so you can not check tour HR in the miband while working out(unless you tap the button constantly to do it), just in your phone.
The other Mi Band third party app says it has Tasker integration
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Does anyone know if this will do what OP is looking for, ie detect when you fall asleep?
What Tasker integration is it capable of?
Can you run this as well as the mi band app and the third party mi band tools app?
Could you look at
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Reviews prefer it to Mi fit. If you find the time that is.
Looking forward to hearing about results on sleep tomorrow!
I'm using this unofficial app which is far better than mi fit in my opinion (free version is OK, paid unlocks workouts, heart rate monitor and other cool stuff)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
latest app can handle up to 3 different apps i think. I use the latest officiall app and for notifications I'm using this. so many settings and tweaks!
I use this one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en
find it does most things I need but it's a little finicky...

If you own any Mi band whether Mi band 1, Mi band 2, Mi band 2 HRX edition or the latest Mi band 3, Download "Notify & Fitness for Mi Band" and go for Pro version of Notify & Fitness for Mi Band via in-app purchase. It is worth every penny. There is much more customisations & personalisation and additional featurew in the app which no other app has till now. It works with/without Mi Fit app installed.
You can use it as stand alone app or with Mi Fit app. The following additional key features you will get in Pro version of Notify & Fitness for Mi Band app. 01> Music Control from Band 02> Customised notification for different contacts 03> Sleep as Android ™ integration 04> Tasker integration (also works with Automate and automateit) 05> Camera control from Band (Limited) 06> Detailed Workout track control 07> YouTube play/pause control 08> Volume Control 09> Timer setup 10> Continues text read for large text notification 11> Emojis support 12> Text transliteration 13> Anti-theft 14> Phone battery low/full notification 15> Google Fit sync and 3rd party apps sync like STRAVA, Runkeeper etc) 16> Single Tap, Double Tap & Triple Tap gestures ( For Mi band 3, only Single Tap is working and double tap with a little trick) 17> Lift hand gestures 18> Answer call (not working for Mi band 3) 19> Import/Export backup file. 20> Mi band connected/disconnected notification 21> Ignore all band notification if screen is on/unlocked. 22> Smart alarm and sensitivity setup 23> Auto cloud backup to Google Drive 24> Cleanup Text (Unsupported text will not be show on band. Get rid of [????]???[??] ) 25> Customisable and expressive UI with Dark and White theme 26> Battery efficient lite app (consumes low battery) 27>... And much more!!
Note: All the above features is in addition to the basic features available in Mi Fit official app.
Note: One thing I found missing in Mi Band 3 without Mi Fit is "Silent" menu disappeared which is very helpful for silenting phone or to set in ringer mode and triggering tasker action. So I installed Mi Fit again and re-paired and then I got back the features and it's working flowlessly.
Everything will go well untill you conflicts the settings between "Notify & Fitness for Mi band" app and "Mi Fit" app.

It is an alternative to the stock Mifit app
TLDR is use this app instead of the official app (in conjunction with Tasker):

If you are using Mi Band or Amazfit Bip, I suggest downloading Notify & Fitness (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en / https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1&hl=en).
I've used the one for Mi Band before and currently using the one for Amazfit Bip. They syncs great with Google Fit.
This one is also good https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Yes it can! I use Notify for Mi Band https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
There are some features this app provides that mi app doesn't too
@zRyver is right. I tested an app now: Notify for Mi Band, and it has a pretty useful tool that sync your Google Calendar events as reminders on band. Can't see full event details, only titles and initial hour, but it's pretty useful when your smartphone are far away or out of battery. Option on Notify for Mi Band events as reminders on mi band

Aye... I'm using this app now: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
It has option for day sleep tracking too.
I use Mi Band Notify. It's paid but it's pretty good.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Notify for Mi Band is the correct name of the app.
Go to this page and download 1.0.2.66 from the mega folder.
Download Notify for Mi Band from the Playstore idk if it's available for iOS in case you're using an iPhone, after connecting the band, head over to settings in the app and click on update button under mi band firmware version, click on choose file and install the downloaded firmware, and then factory reset the band.
That's it, if you open Mi fit and it automatically downgrades the band again to the older firmware, use notify to reflash the new firmware and then use the modded Mi Fit app from freemyband and it will not downgrade the firmware.
Notify does the most stuff. It's sprawling and organized oddly, but it does things that no other app can do.
For Android I think you can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Ei, espero ajudar:
Funciona sim.

Follow the steps. If you need an Mi Fit app alternative try this.
In case you read after you click: We don't support Piracy here. Fuck off. It's 3 bucks.

It works for me with the Notify & Fitness for Mi Band App (Play Store Link).
Notify & fitness app, section reminders https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en There is a predefined alarm "Get away from PC" which should do what you want.
Mi Fit. I use this instead. A bit difficult to use for first timers but I can finally do much more with my band.
Is it as good as Notify and Fitness yet?
Yes, you can do that with the Mi Band 2 and Notify & Fitness for Mi Band (don't know anything about iOS apps, only Android because I use that). I advice you to set the measurement on continuously, then it collects more data and is thus more precise. Because you use a third party app you have to take your phone with you on runs and have the device connected with the band the whole time.
I thought there is also a function within Mi Fit. Will look it up for you. Mi Fit btw has no export functions build in.
Edit: found running mode in Mi Fit app, can't tell you how it is because I haven't used it.

Check out Miband Notify (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1). The paid version has the HR alert you are looking for. Hope this helps. Take care.
The very first sentence of their Play Store description says that Mi Band 7 is not supported.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Also enable third-party app support in mi fit (or app that you use with your band)
The Notify App doesn't work for Mi Band 7. The developers say this right at the top of the app description.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
I had a Miband 4 and 5, then was gifted a Fitbit Versa 3. My sister and mom both use a Fitbit Luxe.
I think Fitbit is great for most folks, but as someone who is very tracker conscious, I've had a poor experience with the Fitbit app. I wish I could use a different app like I could with Mibands. I also miss the plethora of free watchfaces. I understand that time and effort went into the making of every watchface, and want to support the makers so they continue the good work. But Fitbit watchfaces are kinda expensive. I appreciate they offer a trial period, but none of them are as good as the ones on Amazfitwatchfaces.com.
My family has really enjoyed their Luxes tho. They're both iPhone users so Fitbit is probably better than the official Miband app. I'm still using my Fitbit solely as a fitness tracker and manually sync the data. It's a pain and I don't get my notifications, and I even had to disable weather. If you're ok with tracking, the Fitbit is really good. Otherwise, you'll get almost all of the functionality from Miband at a fraction the cost, albeit the fitness tracking is definitely inferior to any Fitbit. I'm not really into fitness tbh, and miss my smart band pinging me whenever I get a meaningful notification (far more notification filtering options available in the Notify app). I don't see myself re-enabling notifications on my Fitbit any time soon, and even then it only lets you enable the each app's notifications (package deal) rather than notification channels.
I use Notify for MiBand, under watch faces, my watch faces
It depends.
If you want to use a different app to enable new featues or enhance your privacy, have a look at N&F and Gadgetbridge.
If you want to extend the funtionality of the band, see some post about tasker integration: * Volume control * Smart replies * Starting a workout * MiBand + Tasker = Awsome * Browse Reddit * And many more
Regarding the firmware, there is not much you can do. You can however edit the resources, such as font and icons. For this, most info can be found on geekdoing.com
If the bug still exists, use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en&gl=US
that s the app,it s on the most popular watchfaces section
It s xiaomi mi band 5 and there is an app where you can get a lot of themes like this. That s the app .
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 I see there is also a light version, not sure how limited it is. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.mibandlite1
Notify for Mi Band
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en&gl=US
a bit confusing but useful
Is this the Notify you're referring to?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Thanks bro! think you could do the same with this app?
Use notify & fitness for MB and set V8 sleep engine in sleep setting .. and activated stress and spo2 every 5min.. NF
Huh. Looks like it's name has changed recently, but it's still the same app.
This is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
It can run either together with the Mi Fit app, or you can run it standalone if you pay for the Pro version ($5). But you will need to extract the encryption key from your Huami account with a script or a program.
For the best privacy you can also use gadgetbridge but it doesn't support the Mi Band 6 fully yet, including no SpO2 data. Also, you need to get the same encryption key. And it doesn't have full sleep data because some part of it is cloud processed. The notify app does do that.
So for sleep tracking the notify app is the best currently IMO. For other uses I use gadgetbridge.
I have been using Notify and Fitness to track and then export to Strava
Do you mean this one?
First time saw this. What is the difference?
Notify For Mi Band.

No but you can use this app
Notify for mi band
Allows custom firmware so the miband 4 or 5 can display emojis
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
Notify for Mi Band! You can find it Here
You can set exporting intervals too!
First you need to get notify and fitness for mi band and pair it with your mi band
Then download this theme from 4pda (it's a Russian forum but Google Translate should be enough to understand what's going on, if you're not able to download the file sign up and try again)
Look up if your firmware version is compatible with the resource version by using this table (every resource has a version somewhere in the title or description on the website), if your firmware is too old use an older resource version or if it's too new you can downgrade your mi band through notify and fitness for mi band, but note that the official mi fit app can update the mi band back and restore stock resources
If everything lines up, go to the Notify and Fitness for Mi Band app> the settings option> update mi band firmware, select the resources you want to flash and flash them and they should work
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=pl
This is the only free one. Maybe you'll figure out how to make it work
>notify and fitness
Is this the one you're talking about? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
3rd party app, Notify and fitness for mi band. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 Doesn't require the mi fit app.
You can have emoji with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 You have to install a modify firmware, you'll find this at the bottom of the "notifications" tab.

Kind of. I use a 3rd party app to manage it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en_US

Notify & Fitness also works
This app does have a cycle mode

"Notify & Fitness for Mi Band", actually.
Paid version of https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 is perfect for that
I use Notify & Fitness https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1&hl=en
Notify and FItness seems to have a lot of features.

Just found out:
There is the possibility to track your heart rate in a fixed interval of as low as 30 seconds with the app Mi Band Notify V2
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
I guess it connects to the Mi band whenever it wants to take a measurement. Battery life will definitely get worse, drains about a percent per hour on the Mi band. So you get about 3-4 days which is fine for me
EDIT: This has already been posted on reddit. See: https://www.reddit.com/r/miband/comments/4069wc/mi_band_notify_implements_heart_rate_monitor/?ref=share&ref_source=link
Are you on android? Check this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1 and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.re.mibandmaps I only use the last one though, but the first one is also fine.
Better to use the Notify & Fitness app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.miband1
It has much more functionalities and it will serve you better
Hi,
There's a problem with that, because yes it tracks your sleep (kind of) actually it measures your movements and heart rate, and when it has quite a bit of info. It can analyze it and decide if at that moment you were sleeping or not. Like your movements were active a lot, then they went down, stayed low intensity for 5h and then it started jumping higher again, that means you have slept for 5h. I guess it would be possible kind of, but it would require having a constant for sleep activity and not everyone sleeps as calm or as actively as everyone else. All in all it gets thing complicated and it's hard to detect short periods of sleep. That's just my basic understanding how that works.
Nope, notification icons are build into band's firmware, we can't change their length nor vibration type. Only thing you could do is add pre-vibration with Mi Band Tools.
If I recall correctly Notify & Fitness for Mi Band has this functionality. Unfortunately this got removed from official app. I hope it will make it's way back. As far as I understand it's because Mi Band 2 doesn't need phone nearby for it's alarms, so they had to change the approach they're taking here. And by doing so extending phone's battery life.
That's my thoughts on this. Hope it helps a little
