Have you ever tried to access your favorite shows on Netflix, only to be blocked by your country? Tried to log in to PayPal, YouTube or other sites while trying to buy plushies… but couldn’t? Well I have a solution to your problem thanks to today’s sponsor, NordVPN.
As a several time DMM finalist, these look decent, I have a few worries though.
> supported in real time by our anti-cheating specialists
Can this be extended to the week leading up to the final? If I got a months membership for everytime I saw someone boxing, auto-clicking, scamming, door-blocking and botting my account would have more time than Woox's!
> We will announce the amount of supplies prior to the launch of the Winter Finals.
Can we get a date for this? I worry it's something that will be announced hours before the start. Also, the home-page of Old School links to an outdated set of rules for dmm. Would be much better to have one source of truth, not several sources new players need to look at.
> perceived to be our most successful Season yet in terms of player participation
Can we get Mod Lottie to show us the numbers that back this statement? Total number of kills, sizes of bank keys, total hours played in a season, creativity is the limit.
To add to that, can some figures about the tournament be released too? E.g. how many deaths, biggest pre-final hour keys, etc. Can you guys looking at sever logs recreate what happened you could make a daily highlight reel of big fights in the week build up.
The Justiciar armour made on stream had a few comments about the helmet and the skirt, so I've made some alternatives to be voted on.
Helm → https://www.strawpoll.me/15493051 Skirt → https://www.strawpoll.me/15493060
The winning variants will be polled against the armour design by /u/miiiing, which I’ll be creating an in-game version of in the coming weeks. The poll will be in game, but there is currently no ETA.
EDIT: A note on wings - while Armadyl certainly seems to be the god of avian life, Icyene (basically Angels) are a race of Saradominists that have wings.
I'd also like to point out the obvious that Account Sharing is, in fact, against the Official Rules and Terms & Conditions.
Can you please host the official rules of runescape on the main page of https://oldschool.runescape.com/ and specify that the same rules apply to OSRS and not just RS3?
So much bad information is spread about the legality of 3rd-Party clients, AHK, Mousekeys, etc. It's practically impossible to find Jagex's stance on these matters on the oldschool version of the website.
About to finish Darkness of Hallowvale (after all completing all Myreque quest line, pretty much as an ironman since quest items are not available), in order to obtain fast Clean Toadflax for saradoming brews (about 50k ea in the last day).

Mace attack speed boost to 6 in the polls when? Was polled last year in stream by Mod Kieren, but no word on it since. https://www.strawpoll.me/13874066/r
And just for the hell of it, a cleaner version of that same poll https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/9fuvbe/weekly_reminder_that_this_was_polled_last_year/
Help your son set up account security.

There are a lot of players ingame trying to scam other people for their ingame wealth. Perhaps you should let him face these things himself and let him learn from it like I did when I started playing at the age of 9. But here's a page about the most common scams ingame.
That stream was great lol, someone donated 50M to him so he bought a bunch of items and dropped em in the party room. It was like the old days lol, the thing was PACKED.

Here we go again.
I have set up a strawpoll on how I should tackle melee skills. Vote here
Also might as well do an AMA on this post, considering I am a youtube megasuperstar now.

Long ago there was a requested change for the torag's hammers attack speed to be increased (hit with each hammer seperately), whilst reducing its damage so the DPS remains roughly the same.
This was asked on a qna and passed with flying colours on the strawpoll
I propose that it is changed to a 2 tick weapon similar to the blowpipe to be a melee equivalent of a blowpipe or fast range weapon. It would also be cool if you attack with alternating hammers but I'm not sure if that can happen.
This would be useful in PvP as Mod Archie stated as it can be used to knock off vengeance and lead to interesting combos in PvP.
We included a fix for the left-click attack bug with the update today. This fix reduces the likelihood of someone misclicking to essentially 0.
Reasonably speaking, there should be no opportunity for players to misclick in guarded zones with the extensive attack priority options in game.
The map found on the deadman page has now been updated with the one made for 2007 Wiki. Learn where the safe zones are and don't walk into them when skulled.
As for why we didn't just make guarded zones safe zones,: we don't want you to feel safe anywhere. We want people to be able to kill you in the guarded zones if they can tank the guards and feel it is worth the risk.
>Boxing, which can be defined as: Using combat with an allied player to avoid combat with other players within Deadman Seasons/Finals is considered to be using a game mechanic to gain an unfair advantage. Boxing offenses will be dealth with on a case-by-case basis.
>Muling, which can be defined as: using a separate account to store wealth. This includes clan banks. Alternate accounts are permitted provided they are used competitively. Players found to be muling will be banned (including clan banks, and those who use them).

That player you reference wasn't banned for account sharing - they were banned for account hijacking - you can read my full response here: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/60g73s/seriously_jagex/df6b1qs/?context=3
Mod Mat K stated that no one has yet been permanently banned for purely account sharing in OSRS, which was over a year ago.
He did not say we would never ban anyone for account sharing, simply we haven't yet taken that type of action. I know that we have issued offences for it in the past (mutes, warnings).
If anyone breaks our Rules, which can be found here: https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules they run the risk of having action taken against their account. This could include a warning from a Jagex Mod to their inbox all the way up to a permanent ban, depending on the severity and type of rule broken.
My advice is simple: don't break the rules. Account sharing in particular results in lots of account security issues down the line (a lot of the 'jagex gave my account away!' threads are the result of sharing an account with a friend, that relationship going sour, and the account becoming a mess).
You can use rotation control on android and keep it vertical. The interface is a little annoying, but the game looks great. Good for scaping at work.
Edit: This app
I don't really care about ads for shit quality products, it's mostly when they lie (NordVPN) or promote things unethically (Raid/gambling) that I have an issue with the sponsorship, and even then it's not necessarily because I have an issue with the content creator making more money, just the ethics of it.
I love J1mmy’s videos, but most of his sponsors suck. NordVPN isn’t the absolute worst thing in the world, but G-Fuel is reportedly dreadful, Manscaped, oh and that fucking mobile video game whatever it’s called. Maybe that’s all content creators though
I'm currently using TunnelBear from Australia through Canada to play right now. Never heard a bad thing about it, you get 500mb from just signing up, and then shortly after you'll get a prompt to tweet for an extra 1gb.
It clearly states in the rules that:
>Software that can be used to gain an unfair advantage in our games may not be used.
I would interpret that sentence to imply that most features offered by 3^rd party clients are against the rules. I would like to see this actually enforced.
For the runescape rules it is specifically for online dating.

>Hey folks, we've had a few reports about this...
The RS3 Splash Page (https://www.runescape.com/splash) has defaulted to Spanish for me for at least a few years (I live in southeastern US). This is the only page on which this has occurred to the best of my recollection. I always assumed it was some setting on Chrome causing the issue and I was just too lazy to search for a fix to something that didn't really bother me. Kinda sad I didn't report this now, though --- if it is a more widespread issue, it's plausible that at least a few potential new players were turned away.
No. The EXE is for Windows and the DMG is for MacOS. Unless you mean getting the plain old .jar to run using the command line. That probably can be done.
As the margins change, the list will automatically update. Items with bad margins won't show up on the Flip Finder.
Edit: Android version is now live, check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devnauts.merchos
>Multiple logging-in You are free to create as many accounts as you like and you are welcome to trade between your accounts just as you would with any other legitimate player.
>However, if any of your accounts obtained wealth by rule breaking activity for example macro use (botting) or real world trading (buying gold or items from 3rd parties) then all your accounts will be banned.
>Similarly, multi-logged accounts must not interact with each other to exploit gameplay mechanics, such as attempting to rig the result of a minigame.
>Trading wealth or items between your own accounts is done entirely at your own risk. Unconventional trade methods like drop-, death- or trust-trades are particularly risky and we strongly advise against them.
>You may log into multiple accounts across all versions of RuneScape at the same time. However, any account you are using must not be involved in any rule breaking or exploitative activity. Any penalties or sanction for such behaviour will be applied to all of your accounts. Why we have this rule We have this rule as part of our procedures to monitor and deal with people who choose to real world trade, gold farm and use macros. People who move wealth between accounts they own and have gained that wealth unfairly or by breaking other game rules can expect to be banned.

I have no idea where you got 600 runecoins from. I mainly play rs3 on 2 accounts, and neither of them have gotten free runecoins.
You've got it wrong. See here.

They need to disqualify Manked for this.
Thanks for posting this! If anyones interested I stream my attempts at twitch.tv/regulartrevor.

no you are WRONG. People are having their information taken from DATABASE leaks like: town of salem, zybez, adobe, ect.
Check your email then reply if your account is as safe as u think :)
The #1 way to protect your account would be to use an email just for RuneScape and a very strong password. I know most people aren’t dedicated enough to have 1 email just for this game but they could use a password manager (Dashlane, lastpass, 1password ect) and change all their passwords to strong generated ones, I don’t know most of my passwords off by heart, I just use my password manager. It also lets you know of any data breaches that involve any of your logins so if there is a breach and you’ve signed up to that website before you can immediately change your passwords for your email. You can also use the website have I been pwned to see if any of your emails have been breached before.
Solicitation report category is for players asking for nudes.
Unfortunately begging is not against the rules. I know what solicitation means but Jagex uses this word for one specific type of behaviour:
> Inappropriate language
> This includes (but is not limited to): discussion of recreational drugs, sexually explicit language, solicitation, racism or other prejudice, threatening behaviour, blackmail and excessive swearing.
> Solicitation
>It is not okay to ask for a boyfriend or girlfriend in-game. This is not a dating website after all!

Hey, if the account has had membership in the past it will be checked once more next month for signs of hijack per the current macro ban review initiate :). If the account ban was found to be hijack related, the ban will be lifted and a message explaining that left in the account's message centre.
There's just a few things I wanted to point out to you (and anyone else reading) after having read your story.
It seemed at one point you were waiting for the bot to log off so you could sign in and check the account yourself -- if you went through account recovery and clicked 'yes' at the e-mail hint, you would've been sent a link to password reset the account, this would've booted the hijacker off the account and secured it for a password change.
It seems like two passwords were compromised on the account: the one the account had when the authenticator was disabled and the new one that was set on it later.
For the new password to have been cracked so easily strongly hints that this was an old reused password the hijacker knew of, or there was a keylogger/malware that leaked that info to them. That's especially evident as the hijacker didn't have access to your registered e-mail as you don't mention having any sign in issues to the website (if they didn't know the new password but had e-mail access, they would've changed the pw - and in that case you wouldn't know the login to check account settings, they also would've disabled the authenticator in that case long ago).
I didn't read the full post so hopefully I don't come across as too ignorant.
Account sharing is still against the rules (as can be seen here https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules) but it isn't something that we typically ban accounts for. However, if you're sharing your account with someone who has consistently broken the rules and is actually using your account because all their accounts are being banned then you can expect us to also take action against your account.
I'm sure you were fully aware of who you were allowing to access your account and you therefore must face the consequences of doing so.

Never been hacked. Played over 10 years.
I dont give my password out, or use my main email for everything thus leading to even the most shittiest of hackers being able to get into virtually any account.
Chances are if you've been hacked and you downloaded some sketchy .exe thing.
You've given your password out or
the email you use for runescape has been pwned.
The biggest problem is definitely bots by far.
if anything, this should be proof to you that it is almost certainly somehow your fault. you're right- why you? why wouldn't they just go to raids 2 and pick any guy with a tbow? they can't, is why. it's not that simple. your email was probably in some database and you used the same password for runescape. try have i been pwned, it searches recent database leaks to see if you're in there.
to be clear, you might not be in there. idk. but if you legitimately didn't click on any phishing links, download something stupid, or get ratted, database leaks are the answer.

Right, as much as I understand that Jagex Support is lacking in certain areas. What did you honestly expect?
Account Sharing is and always has been officially against the rules. Sure, it's mainly there to protect your account from getting compromised as its nearly impossible to enforce this rule. But if you do share your account, you are still strictly speaking breaking the rules.
The official statements from Jagex overrule all statements that individual Jagex mods make. What makes it worse, is that /u/Mod_Archie has nothing to do with Customer Support, so he might not be up to date with their rules.
I would recommend reading the Lifting The Lid: Account Ownership from /u/JagexInfinity from a while ago as to why Account Sharing is against the rules.
Notice how he says it's against the rules but also that Jagex "will not actively take action against players casually sharing accounts for the purposes of community or social activities, where there is deemed to be no risk to game integrity, and all parties involved have a mutual acceptance of the account being used in that way."
Which leads me to believe you or the people you shared your account with did something that wasn't casually sharing an account and you got busted.
Also, as many other people have mentioned the "Community Helpers" are NOT Jagex Employees. They are just regular people like you and me, that like to help the community.
It looked like either a typo or account might have been used for hot/cold gambling.
See here for help on that ban: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115002238729-Account-Bans
Some security advice here: https://www.runescape.com/oldschool/security
Why should there be any outrage?
Account Sharing is still officially against the rules. So even if you do have permission of the owner, you still break the rules.
This specific case is a good example on why it's not allowed.
Hey Guys not sure how long this will stay up for, but hopefully it gets a few of you on.
HOW TO BYPASS THE DOWNLOAD LIMIT ON GOOGLE PLAY
Go to the osrs mobile download on google play: Here
Copy the URL
Go to an APK ripper, I use Evozi, just google it.
Input the URL where it asks for it
Download the APK file
Send it to your device, either via USB, email, Google Drive etc.
Download the apk and open it
You can now play OSRS Mobile :)
https://www.runescape.com/oldschool/hardcore-firsts
The OSRS Hardcore Firsts still doesn't list a HCIM as having the Vetion pet, so it actually would be the biggest flex. Although I vaguely recall someone mentioning that there was a HC with the Vetion pet a little while back
They just added the new town and boss island to the world map seen here. In the timeline they released in December they showed that they would be working on Tempoross from February to about mid-March.
Appeal the account mute here:

Please take a look at the account security here:
Yeah that's why Cloudflare is literally filming a wall of lava lamps to generate whatever encryption they need
Also I've seen a few programs that tell you to move your mouse randomly and they use that to generate an encryption key

You got ratted. If it by passed pin, you fucked up somewhere. This is 100% your fault, and you need to research on how to protect yourselves from these issues. Here's a starting point.
Hey.
The next seasonal will open on 1st July. We have a detailed Deadman Mode description here: https://www.runescape.com/oldschool/deadman
There's also a number of great YouTubers that participate heavily in Deadman Mode, lots of tips to found from watching their gameplay.
Now before you vote, we need to tell you about squarespace. Squarespace makes it easy to make your anti-mtx blog, with a click of a button. Also, are you tired of getting DDOSed in the wildy? Try NordVPN with a free trial from us!
Perhaps an attempt to prevent you from being able to go online and recover your account while they clean it out? Pure speculation there.
Scan your pc for malware
Make sure the email you are using has it's own unique password and set 2 factor auth on it (Very easy to do with gmail), do not set a recovery email.
^
I'd recommend having a dedicated email for osrs so perhaps create a new one and change registered email.
Change your osrs password and make sure 2 auth is setup.
This website let's you check if any services you signed up for with your email with have been subject to data breaches, (if you see a service listed change it's password)
The OP can check at https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and yes, it's not every website. It's not super likely that these hacks come out of the blue in 2019 from reputable websites that actually properly hash their passwords.
Yes, what you're saying is likely, but that would require the hacker to know this persons email, for a hack to happen recently at a website that doesn't hash properly etc...
The Jmods are claiming this user gave away their login credentials, and as far as we know, that's the truth.
Here 2:17:30 He suggests the plan of teaming up with RoT because hes sick of dying then goes into to TS to speak to Bullerik.

Just because a rule isn't enforced doesn't mean it's null. The rule is in place for this exact reason, so Jagex doesn't have to be held accountable for situations like this. You can disagree with me, but any mod who's willing to take the time to respond will say the same thing.
Not sure why I even need to explain this...
Here, let me directly quote Jagex's definition for you:
> An 'item scam' is an attempt to obtain GP and/or items from another player by dishonest means.
They're using dishonest means to get their victim into a PvP area with all their wealth. It clearly fits Jagex's definition of an 'item scam' and therefore it is against the rules. Not only that, but Jagex has also permanently banned players for luring.
As I've said in my previous post, I've reported them through that email and every time I did the accounts were removed from the hiscores, all of them. And yes I've tracked their names and no they didn't change it.
https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules
Real-world trading is the term used for activities which occur outside of the game environment which result in the real-world sale or purchase of items, GP or services with the intention of supplying or advancing a Jagex in-game character other than by the means that are incorporated into the game.
It is clear that a real-world purchace of a subscription to ge-tracker results in advancing an in-game character, namely providing them with a large amount of in-game currency or an expensive item.
The fact that the purchase only results in a chance at the item, and not the item itself, is not enough to get around this rule. For instance, what if a RWT site sold a 99% chance at getting 1m, for a 10% discount on their normal price? This would clearly still be against the rules.
The fact that the giveaway can be accessed for free also does not bypass the rule. For instance, what if a RWT site gave away 1m to someone for every 100m they sold on their website? Or gave away 1m for free to a random person who signs up, but gave people 1000x the chance of winning for a small fee. This would clearly still be against the rules.
They specifically wrote it out.
“Boxing, which can be defined as: Using combat with an allied player to avoid combat with other players within Deadman Seasons/Finals is considered to be using a game mechanic to gain an unfair advantage. Boxing offenses will be dealth with on a case-by-case basis.”
Scroll down on this page : https://www.runescape.com/oldschool/deadman
https://www.runescape.com/community shows the combined online player count of both RS3 and OSRS
https://oldschool.runescape.com/ only shows the player count of OSRS
Subtract player count of OSRS site from RS3 site and you'll know the real online player count of RS3. Compare that to the OSRS player count to know the difference.
As of this comment the player count on the RS3 site says 97k while the OSRS site says 68k.
97k - 68k = 29k RS3 players (vs 68k OSRS players)
Assuming he was actually scamming and that it wasn't real life issues keeping him from returning, then absolutely. Also, I think scamming itself actually is against the rules, though I'm not sure how enforced that is or whether it would/could result in a ban/mute.

Because they are 100% breaking the rules and don't get punished.
Multiple-Login: "multi-logged accounts must not interact with each other to exploit gameplay mechanics, such as attempting to rig the result of a minigame." - The official Runescape Rules.
Bounty Hunter is a PvP minigame.
Bug Abuse: While it's technically not a bug, they are clearly exploiting mechanics which unbalances the game and devalues other players' efforts.
Real World Trading: Sure, they might have investigated the accounts and found no evidence of RWT. But think about it, they make billions of GP profit, what are they doing with it? If they farm BH 24/7 they don't even have time to powerlevel buyables on their main.
Even if it doesn't officially break any specific rules, it's clearly shady and disruptive behaviour and Jagex has the power to suspend any account, as described in their Terms & Conditions.

Yep, no streamer or content creator would ever try and pay their bills by accepting sponsorships that they may or may not agree with...
Anyways, those pesky streamers could be more defended by today's Twitch leaks with a VPN like NordVPN!
Oh is it this one? Apologies I thought you were talking about an official APP. /u/Denny966 seems to have made that so wonder if they're able to advise.

SuperVPN and others are more malware masked as a VPN software. A lot of malware absolutely does sell your IP, and they hide themselves inside VPN services such as SuperVPN. There are of course safe VPN services but it's up to you to find/use them.
This is not the norm. There have been a lot of server issues lately that I believe is the result of DDoS or ISP infrastructure, but playing through a VPN bypasses the issue, so a lot of people are doing that until the issue is fixed rightly.
One I've seen people use is TunnelBear, and I tried PrivateTunnel at the suggestion of the VPN subreddit. It works for me, but pretty much all VPN's are either paid services, or scams. TunnelBear I heard offers 500MB free when you start, which is enough if you only use it for RuneScape. Watching videos or Netflix will eat through it in minutes.
If using a VPN isn't an option for you, there is unfortunately not much to be done until the issue is fixed on their end.
Daily reminder that most people can play flawlessly through a VPN. Someone in another thread suggested ExpressVPN. I downloaded and set it up within like 5 minutes of reading about it last night and then didn't disconnect or lag once during the following four hours of gameplay.
Edit: You guys are right, you should NOT have to pay for a secondary service to play the game you ALREADY PAY TO PLAY. I just wanted to make sure that people did know that there ~is an option for you if you absolutely do not want to wait. You could literally be playing without lags or disconnects within the next 15 minutes, while most of you will continue trying and failing to log in for hours on end. I personally value my own time too much to keeping trying to log in for hours.

Close RS Mobile, enable rotation control, portrait mode WITH guard enabled. Start RS Mobile!
For anyone interested in playing Desktop version on their phone/tablet. (Android only)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gnuroot.rsinstaller&hl=en Follow instructions in the description of the page. Not very complicated to install , just a matter of waiting a bit.
Android and iOS don't support Java, because of certain political disagreements in the tech community, among other things. Its an OS thing more than a developer thing.

>Real-world trading is the term used for activities which occur outside of the game environment which result in the real-world sale or purchase of items, GP or services with the intention of supplying or advancing a Jagex in-game character other than by the means that are incorporated into the game.
There is a section that says not to do this, for this exact reason. Take this time to familiarize yourself with the rules, should you decide to make a new account and play again.
> Software that generates input to our game applets. This includes software that automatically moves the mouse pointer or generates mouse clicks or key presses.

You're going to say but AHK is rebinding and generates clicks, I'll say that's 1 conscious action to generate a click then you'll say that your body breathing or heart-beating isn't a robot creating the click.
It's a common sense thing so do with that what you want but you could (and I'd say nearly likely) be banned.
Yes. Gambling with players is against the rules. https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules
>Unofficial Player Run Games of Chance
>You must not advertise, organise, promote, or take part in any unofficial player run games of chance where in-game money or items are staked on the outcome of a random in-game activity. This includes, but is not limited to, all types of chance games where players trade an amount of in game money or items with the expectation that they will receive in game money or items in return based on the outcome of a game of chance or similar activity.
>It is also against the rules to bet on the outcome of another player's activities within the game, for example: how long it will take to kill a monster, or the outcome of a duel (commonly referred to as "commission staking").
Not to mention it doesn't really matter if something is "technically" breaking the rules or not. They can ban you for picking your nose is they feel like it. They own your account and can do anything with it they please because it is their game they are allowing you to play.
WTF are you talking about?
Jagex their definition of scamming:
> An 'item scam' is an attempt to obtain GP and/or items from another player by dishonest means.
They make you believe you'll get rich if you do what they say, but in reality they take your stuff. In other words, they will obtain your items by dishonest means.
Therefore, luring is not allowed.
> The Deadman Spring Season will begin at approximately 10pm GMT (5pm EST) on Saturday 9th December (though the time is dependent on the finishing time of the Winter Finals!). The Season will run until Thursday 11th January, and we'll invite the Top 2000 players to compete in the Deadman Spring Finals, details of which will be communicated at a later date.
https://www.runescape.com/oldschool/deadman/season
Season end on January 11th, and the tournament dates haven't been announced yet. I'm not really sure how that confusing or misleading.
either clicking New user on the client, or http://oldschool.runescape.com/ clicking " new user sign up here " or runescape.com / signup

edit: seems to be working now..
Real-world trading is the term used for activities which occur outside of the game environment which result in the real-world sale or purchase of items, GP or services with the intention of supplying or advancing a Jagex in-game character other than by the means that are incorporated into the game.
This includes, but is not limited to: purchasing gold or items for RuneScape on 3rd party websites, buying a RuneScape account on 3rd party websites, paying someone to increase your account's experience (XP) and paying someone to complete quests and activities on your behalf.
https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules
You RWTed, you got caught, you got banned. Have fun on tutorial island.
Account Sharing is infact, against the rules.
https://www.runescape.com/a=235/game-guide/rules
It doesn't matter if you share it with 9 other people, or that you are playing it alone. If you didn't create the account yourself, then it's considered Account Sharing.
However Jagex usually doesn't care much, except in certain situations like this one.
Hey, just wanted you to know it does work. Download the app and make sure you turn it on, close the runescape app, and then re-open it. Make sure you have the shield looking symbol and the vertical phone symbol selected. I'll get a screenshot and show you.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.crape.rotationcontrol
As said by Hanst3 below you can temporarily use your mobile hotspot on your cellphone to get the client to load to log-in screen past checking for updates. Once log-in screen has loaded, turn off the hotspot and connect back to school WiFi and you should be good to go.
Less safe alternative would be to use a service such as NordVPN and use their "Obfuscated servers" option which bypasses most firewalls. I don't advise this though because you might be flagged as a bot/RWTer if bots are using the same VPN.
EDIT: if you're using the vanilla/official client, you can also add the following parameter to the file that might improve chances of connecting (uses SSL; also encrypts your traffic which is always good against packet sniffers on WiFi):
-Dhttps.protocols=TLSv1,TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2
Add it below the line starting with -Dcom
Source for SSL
You can also use GNURoot Debian to run a Debian/X terminal on your phone and play it natively without requiring a desktop.
Uses a lot less data and is a bit better performance wise, but it's very battery and performance intensive, and only recent(2014+) phones are able to use it well.
Tell me if none of the companies on this list have information about you: https://haveibeenpwned.com/PwnedWebsites
If you're an American, at minimum 10 of those companies have enough information about you for hackers (or "hackers" even) to get your private data, and if none of your personal data has ever been leaked online then you are literally a unicorn at this point.
You can't block the email address either because they completely spoof the address to be the same one from Jagex. Also follow remember these things when reading emails:
1. A real email will always show your character name not just "player"
Jagex will always message you via their website message centre
If you click the link, the phisher can see that and also gets your IP address. So don't click or you will get more.
Jagex will never make you enter your bank pin outside of the game

Finally the phisher must've got your email from somewhere, so try googling your email address in "quotes". Maybe you made an account on a rs fansite 10 years ago that got hacked, and someone sold the emails to this dude. That's the reason I keep getting these. Try checking this website

Here's an example of a phish scam I received:
Most hacks are due to people's email or pass being leaked online somewhere via a database. https://haveibeenpwned.com/ shows if your email has been in a database you can also remove it from said site, so people don't know if it's in a database. But for the most part if your email (Gmail is most secure) has 2 step and is enabled via your phone. That phone or security questions or a keylog are the only way to access your email. If there's more please someone let me know so I can remove that as a possibility also. As I don't know don't any other methods other than Phone (2 step) or Security questions or keylogs Your phone is likely not to be stolen for RS purposes. Which leads most hacks to Security questions, so you make those as secure as possible and to a point it's only you that knows this info. Good examples are use memorable info such as a significant date or event to you. Questions which can be got out of you through normal conversations such as, Maiden names, Birthdays, favourite colours are bad examples of security answers/questions. The best ones are which have no fucking meaning to you or shit that only you would know. This isn't my security question/answer but Chrome will generate a random password for you on sites now, If you can memorize even half of that random letters/number that'll do the trick. For keylogs just don't install shit or go on dodgy sites, it is simple. If you ever need to download something like flash do it from the adobe site etc. ALWAYS get your drivers from the site of said company you're trying to update the driver from.
What happened to the mace attack speed boost? It was polled last year in-stream with a large majority Yes, but never made it to ingame polls. https://www.strawpoll.me/13874066/r
(It was either Mod Kieren or Wolf for the little mess up with 6 to 5 in the poll lol)
1) Use authenticator
2) Keep your username and password to yourself
3) Never register your email address to other websites, https://haveibeenpwned.com/
4) Don't fall for this stuff in-game "Quitting, check out my youtube video for giveaway." "Leave a comment, you'll get 5-100m."
5) Keep your personal details to yourself.
6) Cover up your total exp if you decide to post a picture to reddit, or else gg hacked.
Have you used the email and password combo on a different website? There are leaks all the time, it's safer to have passwords unique, particularly if using the same email for multiple services.
https://haveibeenpwned.com is a website that can determine if your account have been leaked/compromised somewhere (only need email to check, scroll down to see all breached services - note each of the passwords you have used for a breached service may be in public domain).
You are a random nobody on the internet, which means that your account was hacked through leaked info on the internet.
Or that your system has/had been compromised and you have a keylogger/similar on your system through downloading sketchy stuff off the net or you entered your info on some double exp website.
You can check your email accounts at https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to see if they have been leaked during some database breach along with your passwords.
I know your intentions were good... But it's just as easy to fake a link on Reddit.
https://www.runescape.com/community Notice how that's the exact link to the RS3 homepage... But if you click on it? Takes you to google.
Good shout but adding in a link just makes it look suspicious :P
> Clearly rules written on the “RuneScape” homepage don’t clearly translate to OSRS.
Oh come on, just stop.
> 2. DEFINITIONS
>“Jagex Product(s)" is used as shorthand for our online games including all Jagex websites used to play those games

> 7. YOUR ACCOUNT AND LICENSE
> We grant valid account holders a non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal, limited license, which can be revoked at any time, to use Jagex Products
> You agree to keep your password safe at all times and not to disclose it to any other person.
> 9. RULES

> Account sharing and buying or selling accounts
> Each account should only be used by one person. Never share your account with anyone else, doing so will likely get the account banned.
The rules clearly and explicitly do translate to osrs.
>It’s clearly done openly on Twitch everyday
Yes, botting and advertisements of third party RWT sites is also done openly everyday. But these things are still against the rules last I checked.
Don't have to involve money for it to be real world trading. Literally quoting from Rules of Runescape
> Real World Trading explained
> Real-world trading is the term used for activities which occur outside of the game environment which result in the real-world sale or purchase of items, GP or services with the intention of supplying or advancing a Jagex in-game character other than by the means that are incorporated into the game.
> This includes, but is not limited to: purchasing gold or items for RuneScape on 3rd party websites, buying a RuneScape account on 3rd party websites, paying someone to increase your account's experience (XP) and paying someone to complete quests and activities on your behalf.
And there's actually more risk you get banned if you pay GP rather than cash. Cash for service is impossible for Jagex to trace. But GP, Jagex can see it moving and track it.
https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules
Maybe you should learn to read.
Scams of ALL kinds that deceive a player to attempt to take their items are against the rules. That includes trade scams, lures, duel scams, and anything else you can imagine that would involve trying to trick someone into doing something in an attempt to steal their items from them.
Jagex dev's and mods alike have also stepped forward specifying that lures fall under the list of scams, and that if sufficient evidence is provided against someone, just like any other scam, they'd be banned.
