Made my own trim bins for my first indoor harvest! They paid off heavily!! Got 118 grams and 11 grams of kief!
Used dollarama dish bins and cut out the bottoms. Ordered some wire mesh from Amazon and cut it to overlap 1/4” and hot glued it on. Sanded the underside to give it a porous texture to hold on to.
Worked out great! Made 3 of them at a fraction of the cost. I probably could have made 4 out of the mesh I ordered, but oh well. Inspired by someone else’s post
Well big ups to your dad for supporting your hobby!
FTR there are some low cost LEDs on Amazon that do a pretty decent job.
Just attach some ducting to one of the other exhaust/intake holes in the tent. When the tent is closed, the suction of your exhaust fan should be able to create negative pressure (suck the tent in a bit like a vacuum) and it will draw in outside air from the ducting. This is a “passive” intake system and seems to be how most people have their tents.
I used these as a filter for the intake to deal with dust and hair or anything

This was recommended on a different sub, and it works great so far. It has a battery backup so if your power goes out it still keeps the schedule.
Wow, March 20th of this year? That's a fast-growing strain!
You're pretty close there, the pistils are a nice color and ideally you want the trichomes to be amber, you can wait a few more days/a week and you should be good to go. If you cut it today though and dried/cured it, you'd be happy with the results.
Might want to pick up a jeweler's loupe (I'll link one below), they are great for getting a really close look at your trichomes, and also for spotting tiny pests.
Had the bins and paid $13 for the screen. Used a heated knife to cut the bin. Hot glue gunned the screen on and attached blocks to the side so it sits just above the bottom bin! Harvesting in a couple of weeks and looking forward to seeing how much kief we get!

Oh man for that price you can honestly get a much better light. White light quantum board LED'S cannot be beat. You can get a kickass light for that price! Mars hydro would get you a light that could easily grow a lb under.
https://www.amazon.com/MARS-HYDRO-Spectrum-Updated-Growing/dp/B07PLYR5HG?ref_=ast_sto_dp
That light would smoke the light you have now. I'm not even kidding. Ignore wattage, it doesn't matter as much anymore. The light I linked is the Mars hydro TS 2000 and it uses 300 watts but outputs a usable ppf of about 530umol. A 600watt HPS light outputs around 720umol. That light you linked uses 400 watts and there is absolutely no way it's as efficient as the Mars hydro TS series. If I had to guess? It's probably around 350-400umol. I doubt anyone really knows because why bother testing it? It's old trash. Seriously! I have a TSL2000 that regularly pulls a lb. That's under 300 watts.
Just grow them, they'll be fine. Or they won't. Only one way to find out.
I personally prefer these for germinating.
I don't know why no one has said to just Low Stress Train these with basic plant ties. Those top branches are still fairly pliable. You can tie these down no problem. Here are some on amazon.
Why not throw up some cheap mylar on the walls? Could get you increased light for a few bucks.
Pyrethin is cheap. It's a concentrate. You use 1-4 teaspoons per gallon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VIALGTA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_G18PGA2NCFMTP309SY8P
Those name brands are super expensive which is why I mix my own. Most are nothing more than a percentage of essential oils (rosemary, lemongrass, thyme, even castor bean and soy bean oil emulsified in water with a wetting agent and some isopropyl. A pint of rosemary oil is only 15 on eBay. Soy would be even cheaper. That can make a gallon or 2 of pesticide.
Get yourself one of these if you don’t have one for checking out your trichomes. Looks pretty nice! But you can save a lot of time by doing a propper mainlining. You will yield about 80-120g per plant, so you need less soil, less space, less water control and of course it's way easier to keep insects/ bacteria etc. away.
Maybe take a look at this book, I learned a lot about soil, light, ph... the list is long man :D
But well done for the first try.
At least a month. Even longer and it'll keep getting better. Most of the top shelf bud has been cured for a few months. It's good to have a mini hygrometer in the jars to make sure humidity is good for curing. 55% to 62%RH is ideal. Most shoot for 58%to 62%
I've been using these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VPHKCRS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_uKNcGbVMSEMEX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Get yourself a screen (see link below) for $13, and cut it into two pieces. Now take two large or even oversized mason jars, load with weed and a couple of dollars worth of quarters (soaked in ISO, cleaned, and dried thoroughly), and put in the freezer for a day or two. Take one of the screens, and replace the flat part of the lid with it. Use the rim part of the lid to screw the screen on the jar, and you've got a frozen hash shaker. Since you cut the screen in half, you can make two of them. Now turn them upside down over a large mirror or other piece of glass, and shake the shit out of them for a few minutes. You'll see the quarters break down the buds into shake, and kief will come out through the screen and pile up on your mirror. Make sure to stop as the kief starts to darken, but before it starts getting a green tint to it.

Hahaha I totally understand!!! Glad to help! And don’t risk poisoning yourself with those packs! Never heard it was food-grade safe, use these! Worth every penny.
Just thought I’d also say that if you wanna dechlorinate your water (which you probably should) the easiest way is to just get a $20 water filter that they use on trailers. It’ll attach right on to any hose. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006IX87S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_OPobGbGHFRJMJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 this is the one that I use in my garden

THIS is a cheap setup I just found on amazon. Figured I'd show you that it doesn't have to be crazy expensive to help get rid of the smell.
something with a little more power , they got 100watt (20w) versions of these bulbs that are a lot bigger on amazon but a panel is gonna be the best bang for your buck , These ones are cheap and efficient
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P8AUMU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KPPdFb461MXAQ
Hope I did that right for everyone asking and it was actually 11 bucks! But definitely worth it gotta focus it for like 3-4 minutes for what’re ever zoom your gonna put it at but once it’s there’s it’s on point. As well as has a plastic guard and light so not much damage to bud terpenes and trichomes.
The last picture is definitely white powdery mildew. I use Lost Coast Plant Therapy (https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Coast-Miticide-Fungicide-Insecticide/dp/B076ZSZGRJ/ref=sr\_1\_6?crid=2JNEW2S9RTGMJ&dchild=1&keywords=lost+coast+plant+therapy&qid=1632091416&sprefix=lost+coast+pl%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-6) for my WPM and it works wonders. This appears to be an outdoor grow, so spray it at night time. You don't want to spray it with this stuff during the day because it's like Neem Oil and will actually burn your plant if you use in direct sunlight. I've recovered plants far worse off with WPM than this one.
You could even use the ph checking solution that will come with a pack of pH up and down on Amazon, but a cheaper pH meter should still work fine, like this $12 one
Im not sure that would give sufficient light,
https://www.amazon.com/Phlizon-Thermometer-Humidity-Adjustable-Spectrum/dp/B0752CL6KJ This one would be alot better, id try and give the plant natural sunlight while u wait for it😊 u shoulnt have to support the stems, only when they* have heavy buds on it

Buy a book and read that.
At this point in the year don’t worry about the rain on your buds they will dry out just fine, maybe be worried if you have like a week of overcast and rain and the plants are not naturally drying off then you just want to spray with a nice safe natural pesticide like big time exterminator or plant therapy.

Ya, it's a nice setup.
I'd recommend buying this timer. The one I got with the kit pretty much failed right out of the box.
Honestly, you may wanna look at a smaller setup for two plants. Smaller areas are often easier/cheaper to maintain the climate.

Sorry for the mistake, if it helps sometimes I call chicks, man too. It’s easy to over water plants. Better to underwater than over water in my opinion. Those cheap meters they sell at Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon work good for beginners to gauge when to water. I wouldn’t trust the ph on them, but they are also good for gushing your light intensity too for setting height or adjusting the dimmer switch. I use peat pods to start seedlings, never from Home Depot though lol. I grow in coco, but when I run clones for the outdoor guys I use a 70/30 soil/coco mix.

I hadn’t seen these square ones. Awesome! I have the coat hanger shape and love them.
Add a pack of these and you can really pack them into that space.
I run this HEPA filter in my tent to keep the air clean and exhaust through a carbon filter out the window. I keep the tent under negative pressure and there's no smell.
I was using this type of light: https://www.amazon.com/Sun-Blaze-Fluorescent-Hydroponic-Greenhouse/dp/B00KMACSHG Sunblaze t5’s. It’s just a closet grow and this is probably my 3rd successful harvest and largest one yet.

Other than having a big container to completely block view something like this might work imo but you still want to make sure the wind isn't hitting them too much. Go on amazon and look at your light. If you scroll down it should show an image of seedling veg and flower. Different percentage and height. I have a vipraspecta 2500 and it shows 60% seed 80% veg and 100% flower. All different heights. Hope this helps!
Edit:
About half way down
This is my duct fan. Im about to order a 2nd one soon. One to pull air in at the bottom and the other w a carbon filter to pull air out the top.

It depends. Your LEDs should be about 15” from the top of your plant(s). If your distance is correct, it could be that it’s getting too much light...
If it’s in your budget, buy one of these for your lights plug: https://www.amazon.com/Poniie-PN1500-Electricity-Electrical-Consumption/dp/B07VPTN8FZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wattage+meter&qid=1620099441&sprefix=watta&sr=8-3
This measures the true wattage pull your lights are drawing from the wall. Different size tents have optimal wattage levels. I grow in a 4x4, and the ideal true wattage in there is 630w. I have 4 different COB LED panels and i run two at full blast (bloom and grow) and two with just grow switches on, which nets me a total 640w pull, which is pretty close.
The switches (bloom v grow) will not affect whether or not it’s actually flowering. That’s what the light cycle is gonna do. Or if it’s auto, it’ll auto.

just took a look at them and this light almost looks too good to be true for the price. At 70 USD, I wonder if it would be good enough to light up a 4x4 or if two would be needed.
LeFreshinsoft Full Spectrum LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MXPTB29?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yup sounds like it is the perfect size light for cloning in that space.
I use two of them in my 4x4 myself alongside a mars hydro tsw1000 maxisun pb1500 and spider farms sf1000. If I had to buy again I’d buy all lefreshinsoft f1000 but it wasn’t out when I bought the others.
The price went up to 84$ since I bought it I didn’t realize lol. but it’s still the best deal out there. A spider farms f1000 with the same diodes is 150$! And imo the lefreshinsoft is better the the sf1000 cause it has 395uva and runs cooler.
Most of the full spectrum "Blurple" (those LEDs that alternate red and blue with an occasional IR and UV that look blank) panels you find in Amazon will be pretty serviceable. A 225 bulb, 16-24 watt panel in the right spot could easily grow two good sized plants. Something like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FKF6BT4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3PNJW57FCHJP9AC6Q10M
Two or three of those bad boys could churn you out a good quarter pound dried every 100 days or so if you only keep one grow area. Get an army of them, and set up a couple different areas for different parts of the plants life cycle and you can just be churning out mature flower almost constantly.

Dunno if it will really affect you, but I’d look into some proper pots for your plants. Or at least black buckets. You want to keep light away from your roots and lighter colors may not do enough.
Helpful tip I’ve seen too is to use those black binder clips on the lips of buckets as tie down points (instead of drilling or melting holes) for your wire or cord when it’s time to low stress train. It’s especially helpful if you choose fabric pots that way you don’t need to put holes in them for your tie down spots. You just move a clip.
Otherwise your setup looks great. Cant wait to see what you grow. Good job mate.
Install a float valve (link below) and connect it to an elevated reservoir. Thats what I have for my RDWC and allows me to leave my plants for extended periods of time if necessary.

This is the one I have for similar space, little overkill but nice to know everything's getting lit properly
Go for it. Grab this, and Fox Farm soil and nutrient trio and you could totally go seed to harvest no problem. This would be almost identical to a setup I started with several years ago before I went on a hiatus. While you're working with this kit and that soil/nutes pair you can observe and learn a lot, decide if its something you want to keep doing, and if it is you can research how to better your setup for next cycle. Maybe consider cloning if it makes sense? If its not you're thing in the end, you're $420-ish in the hole. If you have a successful run and you harvest some decent bud you just paid what you would have for 1-2oz from someone/where anyway.
Good luck!
Amazon says 70w actual draw if this is the correct light. I believe with that type of LED you want 25-50 w per square foot.
Thanks! Appreciate the kind words. :(
Great question! Those are mushroom bags. Essentially as the mushrooms colonize in the bag, they output CO2, which falls down on the plants and gets circulated by the fans. It’s essentially a natural way of providing extra CO2 for the girls to feed on. Not too expensive and seems to work very well, I’ve used them for both of my grows.

I see a couple comments above on pH. When I first started I had a pH problem and I ordered a digital pH checker which really let me down. Calibrating it and the accuracy of it was off. I ordered the droplet and pH up and down kit and it worked great. I provided you with a link off Amazon if you’re interested. PC fans might work but you want to be able to have it powerful enough to suck the air from the box into the tent or the smells with just leak out of the little gaps and cracks. I guess it depends on the size of the box you're using. I use this fan which may be borderline overkill but it works pretty good.

Sorry! BT is a beneficial bacteria that specifically targets caterpillars. Here’s a link to what I use myself. Best of luck!!
Also, you best bet would be to spend $25 on amazon and order a copy of the Indoor Outdoor Growers Bible. Will update with a link.

270... But it is supposed to push a full spectrum with special lens technology to direct light to be more like 600w with a smaller footprint. My buddy in the industry hooked me up with this little beast! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G1WJ3FO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FILLFbGRZNPXC

It is super easy to do. I just installed this and followed the instructions.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pas.webcam&hl=en_GB
Now I can access the video from my home PC and it isn't accessible from the internet. I am a attic grower and it is a pain to keep going up and down.
I'm new to growing also. More specifically indoor. I started an outdoor grow in May a few weeks after my indoor. Only because I found bagseed. A few weeks ago, I noticed bud sites with mold/rot. Some further investigating and I found about 20 caterpillars in one of my plants. I spent about 2 hrs going thru it and removing what I could find. I used BT for about 2 weeks and noticed an improvement.
I ordered a mosquito net for camping which I have over them since then. They're due for harvest any day now.

Next time, Im going to start BT applications in vegge to hopefully prevent it again from happening.
Outdoor and indoor growing concerns are so different lol
Good luck to you!
That light is garbage, I got suckered into buying that cause I was on a budget and I ended up throwing it out, I couldn't sell it knowing some poor bastard would end up with some lanky ass dying plants like I did. Save up a couple more bucks and get something like a 300 watt led UFO they go for less then 150 on Amazon. 600 watts in a meter cubed is going to get pretty hot so you may want to go with less wattage.

All I know is that during flowering, which is where your at, the plants need a lot of phosphorus and potassium. Its not easy to over feed either one.
I have used Flower Fuel with amazing results. I also suggest that you use Epsom Salt every time you water.
