Because the people behind Feminist Frequency are some of the people giving Joss Whedon a hard time over Twitter about toxic masculinity and the like. That's your GamerGate connection. The same people who say playing video games makes society more violent or more sexist are the same people raging over a popcorn flick.
EDIT: Some have commented that this is untrue. While it is the case that Whedon appears to be friends with Sarkesian, she's just the face of FF; Jonathan Mcintosh is the brainchild behind the whole opperation
$75? You can get it for $12 in digital single issues. Or you can just get Marvel Unlimited.
I bought mine from Target in Maine almost two years ago for 30 bucks. Amazon has them now for $80. It's nothing special compared to other Nerf guns and I personally can't see myself spending $80 if I wanted a second one.
I also recommend reading this email exchange regarding the script for Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The most interesting part is Alan Fine's email at the bottom, specifically the parts highlighted in bold. He knew the biggest problems with the movie, just by reading the script during pre-production. People should have listened to him.
Siege, not sure which issue.

There's an interesting quote from James Gunn:
"James Gunn: In terms of the amount of small characters from the Marvel Universe that we have in this movie, down to very minor characters, it’s enormous. First of all, we have way more characters in this movie than in any other Marvel movie. And then we have way more Marvel characters…"

Since I primarily collect hardcover, this is extremely good news.
The contract had distinct restrictions on both Peter and Spiderman
Peter Parker MUST be white and MUST be heterosexual
Spiderman must not be homosexual (unless Marvel has portrayed that alter ego as homosexual)
That leaves room for
Spiderman to be someone other than Peter
~~Peter Parker's Spiderman alter ego can be homosexual if Marvel creates a story in the comics about it.~~
The contract is 71 pages long and I haven't read the rest of it so maybe something later on contradicts but the parts I'm talking about is on page 3.
EDIT: looks like on page 7 is goes into a little more detail that Spiderman cannot be homosexual unless he is an " alternative Spider-man character that is portrayed as homosexual in New Authorized Works." So that sounds like Peter Parker's Spiderman can't be homosexual
www.leagueofcomicgeeks.com and their app can do this, though it's not the fastest. Upload your collection, choose settings on each book, and check "Mark as Read". They show up on your personal "Read List" after that.

EDIT: Here's an article summarizing a bit of the book.
It's real. And while it might or might not be spectacular, it's not getting released until February 2019, and it's expensive
Marvel Adventures Iron Man is a good option for that.
If anyone is interested in checking out her stories, there's an X-23 digital sale going on through Thursday at Comixology. I picked up the remaining X-Force storyline this morning that I was missing because that was my first encounter with Laura as a character.
If you want to just read Infinity, you can buy the trade, which has everything you'd need. If you want to delve into Hickman's entire run, you can follow this guide. Personally, I only read from "Avengers World" on and I found everything totally easy to understand.
Some people are just oblivious, don't want the hassle, or so well off they don't even care. I worked with a women who gave away two stainless steel patio heaters on craigslist because they were redoing their deck in earth stone with copper / bronze accents.
> so far I love Cosmic Ghost Rider too.
I highly recommend you pick up this then. It's the arc in which Cosmic Ghost Rider makes his first appearance and it's nothing short of epic.
The world did end, because of events in the Secret Wars story arc, but the destruction was undone and the world is back to mostly the way it was. The new Silk series has already started, you can see it here: https://www.comixology.com/Silk-2015/comics-series/58160

I think they would shy away from that because Avengers: Assemble was the name of The Avengers (2012) in the UK.
Young Justice and Agents Of SHIELD are apples and oranges. Paul Dini laid out Young Justice's cancellation for Kevin Smith on Smith's "Fatman On Batman" podcast. Basically, Young Justice, as good as it was, wasn't attracting the audience Cartoon Network wanted. Meaning it was attracting older and female viewers, while Cartoon Network wanted young males. (Not that young males weren't watching. CN just didn't like the high female viewership.) Also, it wasn't selling enough merchandise to young boys. Ultimately, though. It's that dramatic content was what killed it. It was so sophisticated and smart, it attracted a smarter audience, which wasn't what Cartoon Network wanted. While Young Justice died, look at the show that survived: The very silly "Teen Titans GO." That's what CN wants. Agents Of SHIELD is different thing altogether. It's a one hour live-action drama. It's held to a completely different standard than Young Justice. It's attracting the demographics and getting numbers that ABC likes. (probably the same viewers that would tune in to Young Justice.) It doesn't need to depend on selling merchandise the way a cartoon does. I'll put it this way: A genre show like AoS, or even Arrow (and since you mentioned it, let's throw Supernatural in there, too) doesn't need to sell toys, or sell anything, really, to survive. It just needs a strong enough viewership.
I read online, Marvel.com is a great way to get all your Marvel comics. Comixology is also pretty great. If you're on a budget I recommend Marvel Unlimited. It's $10 a month and allows you to read pretty much every digital comic on Marvel's site. With the cavet that it's 6 months behind current. So Secret Wars #1(and #2?) should be on there but you won't see the current one(Secret Wars #6) until April.
Great first reads:
If you're serious about getting into X-Men, check out my reading guide.
It's not superhero fatigue. I get it, we all have the urge to associate the trend with the fatigue, but it's just not so. There's a Stephen King quote I just read in his book, "On Writing", that I feel describes the fatigue of the movie industry much better than attributing it to overuse of superheros.
> People who decide to make a fortune writing like John Grisham or Tom Clancy produce nothing but pale imitations, by and large, because vocabulary is not the same thing as feeling and plot is light-years from the truth as it is understood by the mind and the heart.
Good movies are the same as good books; they come from tapping into the truth as it is understood by the mind and the heart. The best superhero movies do that. But the ones that take place just to fill an issue or give us fight scenes and explosions wrapped in a plot don't. And it's not just superheros, Star Trek, Transformers, Independence Day, and Jurassic Park have all made the same mistake. The superhero genre is ripe for that sort of thing to happen when you have a universe brimming with demand for sequels and tie-ins that aren't necessarily motivated by the heart and soul that should be behind any creative endeavor. But it's not fatigue of the superhero concept. It's studios pushing in those boring franchise stuffers full of cheap plot and expensive cgi instead of honest to god truth.
The lady's not wrong, put heart into the movie, it will work.

Hope that helps!
Marvel Unlimited is basically Netflix for Marvel Comics. $10/month or $70/year.
As far as X-Men goes, check out my reading guide. Scroll down until you get to Astonishign X-Men from 2004. That's a great place to start.
You will want to redeem your digital copies at http://www.marvel.com/redeem
The apps can cross over, they all use the Comixology system. All you need to do is sync your accounts by going to https://www.comixology.com/marvel-sync
Starting with the newest books is completely fine.
If you want to dive further in, check out my X-Men reading guide: https://www.scribd.com/doc/285089632/Beginner-s-Guide-to-Reading-X-Men
If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the guide, there is a whole section on the ANAD titles.
Here's the site for the program. You can usually do everything needed with the free version (as long as you're not designing your own piece).

Sure, what’s confusing to you?
What you think of when you hear “comic book” - magazine size, stapled binding - that’s a single issue (or “floppy”) of a series. They print new issues of a series every month- sometimes characters have multiple series about them, sometimes series get cancelled then come back, etc, but every month there’s going to be at least one new issue of Spider-Man, Avengers, etc. Those may get reprinted a couple times if they’re really successful, but they don’t print them forever.
Instead, they get repackaged in collected editions. What you probably think of as a “graphic novel” is called a trade paperback or hardcover. It takes the stories from several single issues and reprints them as a book. Depending on how popular a series or storyline is, it may get printed in a bunch of different collections: a small trade paperback with 4 issues together, a larger hardcover with 12 issues, a giant “omnibus” hardcover with 30 issues. Only difference between those reprints is how many individual comics are in each one, and how expensive they are.
For example, this paperback collection reprints the first 19 issues of Spider-Man from the 1960s. This omnibus hardcover collects the first 40ish issues of the same series, so it has everything in the paperback, plus another 20 issues. The paperback retail price is around $40; the omnibus is around $100 (they’re more expensive because they’re both out of print currently).
Kit works for the Hollywood Reporter and probably was following up on the rumor earlier this week about Universal putting a Namor movie in production. Kit probably asked around at Universal and Disney and discovered Namor was back at Marvel Studios.
At least that makes the most sense to me.
Nope, each of the corps has their own, unique oath. A list of each corps oaths, and any other variations, can be found here. My personal favorite is the Blue Lantern Oath.
Here's something that will help you decide what you want to read in the new Marvel Legacy lineup
Almost every Marvel Legacy title has a FREE Marvel Legacy Primer. Which is a short comic describing the characters and tone of the comic. The link above should go to where you can get all of them.
A lot of these Pimer books also give character breakdowns

I will. The plan is it's going to be full panorama. So far I only have Cap done: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipM1hJ5xNozwxq3YOwqv1Or8kaQTAEAI11T2yLzeRLVmyo2mw6RLWsbSkCfVOhRvSQ/photo/AF1QipNYNb1iADhTWJLtKzjCL46bwNLMlyMkVUmXE0JH?key=dzQ3V3VWajdpb2xWOF9JTEl1RGVWY3FjbjFHdnJB
Actually, I already posted this above but here we go once more.... It was photoshopped in. Closer to the films release I remember hearing about a cell phone company securing an advertising deal with Iron Man 3. The movie was shot with the flip phone and then someone photoshopped in the smart phone once the advertising deal was secured.
Honestly, you're missing out by limiting yourself to post-Civil War X-Men books. If you're looking for a great modern starting point then I'd recommend New X-Men by Grant Morrison or Astonishing X-Men by Joss Whedon.
If you're looking to get into the X-Men though, you should check out my X-Men reading guide!
> I, as someone who has never seen an episode of Young Justice (I know, I know, I should - and I will... at some point)
Okay but consider this:
Do it now
You may want to read the Civil War: The Confession one-shot, which in my opinion acts as a really effective epilogue to the story, but is unfortunately not included in the main Civil War collection. You can read it digitally here.
Got them from Amazon. This is the style I got but they do have different colors:

Cloak and Dagger have a few trade paperback collections that were released in the past couple of years that collect their first appearance and their various solo series and appearances. Check out Comixology for a list of TPBs.
I recommend the Runaways & Reversals collection. It has some great modern stories. Shadows & Light collects their first appearance and earliest stories.
He was a recurring villain in Ewing's New Avengers and it looks like he's going to be appearing in Ewing's Ultimates soon.
I'm not sure why Avengers #0 isn't on Unlimited, but it's on Comixology here: https://www.comixology.com/Avengers-2015-0/digital-comic/289279

Marvel Unlimited is $60 a year, and well worth it.
Not online, but check out your local library.
Did you read the series that came before Last Days? It's by the same writer, and it had five issues plus an Annual.
Here it is on Comixology: https://www.comixology.com/Ant-Man-2015/comics-series/33138
>Division is expected to benefit next year from the release of "The Avengers" and Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man." Disney recently brokered a new deal with the studio that enables the Mouse House to collect most of the coin from Spider-Man movie products.
>"To that end, we recently completed a transaction with Sony Pictures to simplify our relationship. And then in the deal, we purchased Sony Pictures' participation in Spiderman merchandising, while at the same time, Sony Pictures purchased from us our participation in Spiderman films. This transaction will allow us to control and fully benefit from all Spiderman merchandising activity, while Sony will continue to produce and distribute Spiderman films. We won't be specific about the economics of this 2-way transaction, but we expect it will drive attractive returns for Disney."

I use Marvel Unlimited, and it's amazing for $10/month. You can read as many Marvel comics as you want, given they're at least 6 months old. The browser functionality is kind of broken, but for what you're getting it's a minor inconvenience...anyway, some of what I've read:
Superior Spider-Man (2013) - Absolutely amazing. If you know nothing about it: Doctor Octopus takes over Peter's body, and he goes around trying to be a better Spider-Man than Peter ever could. Very exciting stuff.
Inhumans (1998, Jenkins) - Gives a great insight into the Inhumans: who they are, what they do, how they relate to the rest of the Marvel U, etc.
House of M - One of the more important events in the Marvel Universe. Scarlet Witch goes crazy and screws up a ton, which has enormous repercussions. Definitely worth checking out.
Son of M & Silent War - This spawns directly out of House of M. If you like Inhumans and Quicksilver, you'll love this. Quicksilver steals the Terirgen mists from Attilan (homeworld of Inhumans) and the Inhumans hunt him down. They cause a war with humanity. Very exciting.
Moon Knight (2014) - I believe it was issues 1-6 that were worth reading. He's a schizophrenic superhero, which makes for some...exciting encounters.
Since you loved Age of Ultron, I would recommend reading Hickman's AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS runs. They're two series, but they're both intertwined; you'll need to read both to get the full experience. It's good stuff, especially as it ties into Infinity and Secret Wars.
Also, I haven't personally read the Age of Ultron comic, but I heard it sucks majorly.
Comixology often has cheap comics and sales. Marvel Unlimited is $10/month and you can read as much as you want. I'd personally go with MU, but with Comixology you get to keep your stuff.
That's fair. And not to discount her attempt here, but it also doesn't help that this is Gwenom and this is just the sexy internet version that people can easily be duped into buying if they are unfamiliar with the character.
Yeah it cost about $120 on Amazon but keep in mind Hawkeye only uses a compound every once in a while. If you want to go traditional, I would look into a nice Samick Sage wooden recurve bow.
My Compound I had to get a bunch added to make it actually shoot able but it comes with a lot of the stuff needed. You mainly just need to buy a d loop and a peep sight at your local Guns and Archery shop
Samick Sage This is well regarded as the perfect starter recurve bow, it's wood so it matches traditional Hawkeye, and it comes pretty much ready to shoot if you actually want to get into archery. I would suggest starting with a closer to 30 lbs or less and look up actual archery form on YouTube videos so you don't ruin your form forever.
There's a Secret Wars mini called Renew Your Vows (here's an Amazon link). This follows on from that. Beyond that, know who Spider-Man and MJ are and that Eddie Brock/Venom is a thing.
There's not exactly a huge history to this one.
Post a follow up! I won't be able to sleep knowing this is out there!
Edit: Don't use zip ties, get Velcro ties.
That's the one! I got it on Amazon. Actually, the helmet's from Amazon, too.
Helmet link here ($139)
Loki cosplay here (Thor: Dark World version)
Hi fellow comic book readers, I posted some month ago a very early preview of the app I'm making. I published a big update today! Now all the data comes from Marvel database. Users can search for characters, and access a timeline of all the comic books they appear in sorted by publication date. There's also the events they take a part in. Users can favourites the characters they prefer to have a quicker access to their content.
I hope you enjoy it and make your life a bit easier, don't hesitate to give me any feedback!
Edit : adding the link to the google play page https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.jeantuffier.inorder
Actually I would give it ago. I remember reading about Papa Sangre when it was released but because it's on iOS I never downloaded it to try (I learned early on I hated iOS).
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papa_Sangre
A Daredevil game like this, even one based around the early years of Matt Murdock would be a great new way to experience the Marvel Universeway and also to reach a new audience.
Update, Found another audio only game on the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dowino.ABlindLegend
In Amazing Spider-Man #400, Aunt May, reveals to Peter that she knew his secret the whole time. it's actually one of my favorite issues.
I don't know about a print version, but ComiXology does have a digital version: https://www.comixology.com/Fantastic-Four-Books-of-Doom/digital-comic/29883?ref=c2VhcmNoL2luZGV4L2Rlc2t0b3Avc2xpZGVyTGlzdC9pdGVtU2xpZGVy
If you just want his origin issues, you should read Deadpool (1997) #-1 which covers his relationship with Vanessa before the cancer and the Deadpool & Death Annual 1998 which covers the period after he is diagnosed and gets his powers.
Those Joe Kelly issues are collected across Deadpool Classic Volumes 1 - 5 or the Deadpool by Joe Kelly omnibus. Joe's Deadpool laid the groundwork for the movie and you'll find lots of familiar elements there.
Jonathan Mcintosh, however, took a pretty good piss.
He is, as far as I know, writer and producer for FF It's just that no one really ever talks about him, despite being the brainchild behind FF.
If Whedon directly names him by name and responds to his criticisms, I'll eat a shoe.
Not just Daredevil. Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist are all getting series that will air on Netflix. Here's on of the news posts for it.
A lot of readers find pleasure in the collection of physical comics or collected "trades".
I personally find it a lot more practical to purchase on a site like COMIXOLOGY, and read them on my iPad.
There are other methods of finding digital copies that are cheaper and less scrupulous. You can probably find them if you google around.
I know you said you wanted to start at Marvel NOW.
Almost every Marvel Legacy title has a FREE Marvel Legacy Primer. Which is a short comic describing the characters and tone of the comic. The link above should go to where you can get all of them.
Buy this.
Also a new series is coming to comic shops and digital in a few weeks, so check that out here: https://www.comixology.com/All-New-Guardians-Of-The-Galaxy-2017/comics-series/91505?ref=Y29taWMvdmlldy90YWJsZXQvYnJlYWRjcnVtYnM
Yeah, Mad Jim Jaspers only appeared in one arc that Alan Moore wrote for Captain Britain in Marvel Super-Heroes #377-388 and The Daredevils #8-10, and they can be pretty hard to find. Marvel Unlimited has the issues of Marvel Super-Heroes but not The Daredevils yet. I think this collection on Comixology has the whole thing: https://www.comixology.com/Captain-Britain-Legacy-of-a-Legend/digital-comic/456162 That collection is also available in paperback on Amazon here: http://a.co/bVeHKLc
Marvel.com has a cyber monday thing going on with a checkout code of MARVELCYBER.
Looks like this:
As far as I can tell there is no deal on Marvel Unlimited.
Comixology has a Darkhorse and Valiant line-wide sale going on today as well as a Marvel Collections sale and a Image BF sale.
"Oedipus complex, in psychoanalytic theory, a desire for sexual involvement with the parent of the opposite sex and a concomitant sense of rivalry with the parent of the same sex."

It's out around about November/December
This is just a preview to go with an interview the new creative team did

Just the suit.
Listen, by the way. There's a whole different situation with Extremis in the comics. It's way rad. If you get to checking out the Iron Man comics this would be a great place to start.
If I recall it was also a bit of a soft reboot, designed to be accessible for new readers.
I would suggest either buying it on Comixology or looking for a digital code for the issue on /r/comiccodes.
Definitely check out the current Vision series by Tom King. The series Avengers A.I. from a couple of years ago is also worth checking out.
You also might want to check out this one-issue retelling of his origin: https://www.comixology.com/Avengers-Origins-Vision-1/digital-comic/23591
What you're looking at is the first issue of Miracleman by Gaiman and Buckingham. What you want is Miracleman by The Original Writer.
It's apparently on sale at comixology if thats your jam :) It's really good, I love Jason Aarons take on Thor!
what is weird is it seems to be available through Comixology but not through Marvel
Of the webcomic of the same name. You can see more at r/Erma and take 15-20 minutes to read the series from the beginning here. In my opinion, Erma is quite honestly the best original ongoing webcomic out there today.
I made an X-Men reading guide a while back, check it out here. There's a bunch of different starting points if you want to jump into back issues.
My favorite current X-title is All-New Wolverine. Only background info you need is Logan is dead and Laura (X23) took up the title and costume.
Check out my X-Men Reading Guide!
It covers all the eras of X-Men up to the current books. It gives you the most pertinent reading for each set of years and also optional reading if you want to flesh out your knowledge.
Hope this helps!
Every single thing you mentioned is worth reading, and it's all on Marvel Unlimited.
Pay $9.99/month or $70 up front for a year and read all you want. They've got 17,000+ comics on the service, and new comics get added every week. After six months of being published, all new Marvel comics get added to the service.
As far as my recs, check out my reading guide for X-Men. I recommend pretty much everything on that guide: https://www.scribd.com/doc/285089632/Guide-to-Reading-X-Men-Comics
EDIT: Also, here is a great resource for Cosmic Marvel: http://i.imgur.com/N7OXfyI.jpg
It's from the upcoming series "What If...?". The clip showing zombie Cap is from the special "Expanding the Universe" that showcases a lot of the upcoming Marvel Studios series.
Yea thats my channel... it all depends... it can be time consuming but a lot of fun. If you already have the tools its not that costly.
Some things I use A LOT
Dremel and attachments.... i use this tool pretty much for anything I build Bondo and Resin Respirator Sander
Thats about the core of what I use. There are videos that explain how to get started
here is a link to a bunch of the PDO files I've collected. http://www.4shared.com/folder/vvRzJ61M/_online.html
You will need a viewer like Pepakura Designer to rescale and print.
Once you get the hang of it you can craft a bunch of stuff. I should have a video up later tonight on how to make Wolverine claws on the cheap.
Not really sure but it's just 12 pages, costs $0.99 and was supposed to be released digitally today according to this.
To each their own, I think Rodriguez' art is great. He did some issues of Waid's Daredevil a while ago that I really liked. Look at the preview pages for this issue: https://www.comixology.com/Daredevil-2011-2014-28/digital-comic/44011
As far as Storm, she does have her own solo series going on right now written by Greg Pak that I would definitely recommend, it's good stuff. The first paperback collection isn't coming out until March, but you could pick up the individual issues no problem.
http://amzn.com/0785191615 - first paperback collection
https://www.comixology.com/Storm-2014/comics-series/21383 - series listing on Comixology
Another question I've seen asked is, "I've never read Marvel before. I don't really know who these people are, what they can do, and I don't want to start a sequence of issues that I might not end up liking. Is there a high level overview to guide me to heroes I might be most interested in?" For that, I found Origins of Marvel Comics from 2010 to be a nice introduction. It's also on Marvel Unlimited. It's essentially 36 pages of single page origin stories of well-known heroes and villains. It's a bit out of date now (Carol Danvers is Ms. Marvel and Bucky is still Captain America) but overall I think it still might be helpful.
EDIT: I don't know who Carl Danvers is, but he wasn't Ms. Marvel...

I know this would be more a long term solution and not immediate, but I do Bing Rewards and then redeem for Fandango gift cards to help alleviate the cost of movie going.
As long as I am diligent and do all the daily tasks (takes a few minutes at most) I can get enough for a $5.00 gift code every 2-3 weeks. I got my wife to start doing it as well, basically gives us a free ticket every few weeks.
There are other gift card/reward options too.
The Gala just ended. The Planet-Size X-Men Special basically ended the Gala and set up the next stage of the X-Men comics. The Gala is directly leading into the Trial of Magneto, and Inferno is coming soon too.
I see two collected editions listed on Amazon, X-Men: Hellfire Gala is a smaller collection including the most essential issues, while X-Men: Hellfire Gala Red Carpet Edition includes every issue that happens around the Gala.
First volume comes out in a couple weeks:
I actually have this story in my Mephisto: Speak of the Devil collection that I got from a discount rack on my LCS a while back.
In general, Marvel needs to bring back the Marvel Graphic Novel line again.
I’d check out Scarlett Witch by James Robinson complete collection that just released as well.
The Diamond Select Wolverine with the brown costume is nice.
