About 3 months ago during their small wave of bans:
https://www.smitegame.com/news/developer-update-recent-actions-on-player-reports
It was a 3 day ban and he threw a fit about it on twitter if I recall correctly and demanded people stop buying gems because the game is dying anyway.
https://twitter.com/juiceDiem/status/997504805345128448
> So, today, @HiRezTh3B4r0n was supposed to come on the stream to talk about how Smite is failing and what steps hirez is taking to remedy that.
>Instead, he gave me a lame excuse then blocked me.
>Then Hirez suspended me from Smite for 3 days for "match griefing."
>#StopBuyingGems
Edit: To be honest, the white knight replies to his tweet are almost worse.
Your response would be perfect if you weren't so contradicted by the advertising for the event. Hirez's website says that players will compete for a 1,000,000 prize pool, when in fact they will compete for a fraction of that. So you are trying to have it both ways: you want to get people excited about SWC by saying players are competing for 1,000,000, and you want to save money on tournament prize pools. It's fine if you have a logic for choosing the latter option, just don't try to have both of those mutually-exclusive things by being deceptive in your advertising of the event.
Edit: the link I was referring to: https://www.smitegame.com/swc-2017-tickets-now-available/
You shouldn't be taking this so personally, imo. If Cthulu is exciting and attracts new players and helps the game grow, that should be encouraged. Cthulu isn't the same kind of fictionality as the examples you gave either; Cthulu is heavily influenced by mythology, most notably sumerian's Kutulu. There is even a heavily fleshed out theory about Cthulu's connection to Typhon from greek mythology, found in this book here (the excerpt used to be free, but I can't seem to find it anymore).
This is a game that Hi-Rez has poured years worth of time and employment into making, they can do whatever they want with it. If adding Cthulu is just the same as adding Pikachu or Sauron to you, that's your decision to interpret it that way. I would gladly love to see Smite's take on such a legendary character like as Cthulu-- seeing as they still keep the trend of constantly going back to important deity's like Set and Heimdall too. It's their game, their decision. Maybe they will just call them Typhon or Kutulu if they decide to go with it. Regardless, they're already being incredibly awesome for answering communities request for Baba Yaga and their god designs have been so awesome lately I don't really care who they add. Give me Pikachu for all I care, that'd be sweet as hell.

I'm a little confused regarding the future availability of the Bob Ross items. I assumed based on how it was advertised that it was Limited, but in-game the Sylvanus skin is Exclusive, but the other items (Loading Frame, Loading Screen and Jump Stamp) are Limited. However, on the website all 4 items are labeled as Exclusive. If the bundle is Limited time only (and the Sylvanus skin will come back in chests in the future), there's no date indicated anywhere as to when the bundle expires. If someone from HiRez could provide some clarity it would be appreciated.

Some things to keep note of:
There is indeed reasoning for these changes (taken from the Patch Notes): Many item icons have had their artwork redone or have had adjustments to make them more consistent with their item tree’s color scheme.
Talaria Boots were the only foot accessories that were not changed.

Sure, I will correct you. I am not citing accounts. I am citing active community, which Hi-Rez has said to be around 3 million. Worse yet, on the website for the current weekend event, it calls the Old Wa skin "Limited." The skin is exclusive, limited, and normal all the the same time lol
No, Sunder is not okay. Its competition may be a dumpster fire alongside beads and aegis, but that does not mean Sunder is fair to play with or against. To spew some boring statistics: In order for S3 Sunder to do what S4 sunder does, it would need to reduce target protections by 64% (at 167 prot) for 25% increased damage, and 45% (at 135 prot) for 15% increased damage. Protection values lower than that will suffer significantly decreased bonus damage, but values higher are only slightly. S3 sunder was bad design because it didn't counter hard tanks, while saving bruisers. S4 sunder is bad design because it counters everything, and shell can only shred 5% and 10% of it's damage at each rank.
Sunder a squishy, and watch any tank solo them with ease. Sunder a tank, and watch any squishy solo them with ease. That. Isn't. Interesting.
EDIT: To put the protection reduction into perspective, S3 Sunder was 25%. I posted this graph, which you can mess with that compares the past season's sunder to this one. If you adjust r (the protection reduction of S3 sunder), you can easily see why 15% and 25% damage increases are so broken. The Green line shows S3 Sunder's damage increase based on a target's protections, and the Blue line is the current sunder.
The purple thingy on the right shows you all the tracking scripts that are installed on SmitePedia

Main difference: Hachiman's Eagle Eye Ability continues after the first enemy hit. We will be disabling Hachiman in all Ranked queues until this issue is resolved.
His examples in particular gave us an edge case (three grandmasters players in queue together through multiple games) that then gave us an abnormal pattern that lead to identifying the issue. It's not that other posts aren't listened to, it's that this example in particular was one that was very different from what is normal.
As far as how matchmaking works/etc. I'd recommend looking into our Matchmaking FAQ.
>Maieve who was nerfed a week after her release
Maiev was released 6th of Febuary, and got nerfed 3 days after release. Imagine if that could happen for us with Baron? She also had half the time on the PTS as Baron did.
I'm not going to disagree with Fenix. His release was incredibly strong and it took them too long to fix. But that was by far the worst release they have had and they've improved significantly since, and had a great history before it. HotS had to deal with 2 bad releases in the last year, Maiev being one of them which got remedied within 3 days. Smite has had four to six bad releases depending on who you ask, none of which got remedied in a timely manner. Bad releases meaning extremely over or underpowered. It's not double standards.

And maybe don't be such an asshole. Lol. Just a thought.
Paladins got much better rewards. They got a chest for every 1h watched, 1 Rare/Epic skin and a Legendary Skin. So you could get up to I think 10+ chests.
Check it out for yourselves: https://www.paladins.com/news/hrx-rewards
Thought I'd add this: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/7rzb3cmeth
This shows how much effectivity your % penetration (Titan's + Kali) loses when you use Executioner.
Example. If the enemy has 100 protection, 63% pen basically becomes 36.54% pen after Executioner.
So, your % pen loses 42% of it's effect.
You'll get up to 70% of the effect (or 63% * 0.7 = 44.1% pen) against super tanky 325 prot targets.

Well you came back right before the mid season patch 5.13 where there's going to be another meta shake-up. Jungler and Mid are bit strong at the moment and Support really sucks due to xp spooling and such, but those things are being tackled in 5.13. I suggest you read the patch notes thoroughly for 5.13... theirs a ton of changes in there.
https://www.smitegame.com/news/5-13-mid-season-update-notes
Builds are hard to explain right now.
Hunters are leaning on crit at the moment.
Guardians are somewhat back to the selfish build.
Mages are opting for more power over CDR and even Pen.
Warriors are the usual hybrid
Assassins are going for Pen/Power usually most AA assassins aren't doing the best from what Ive seen besides Merc.
I know Im not 100% right but these are just my observations.
I kinda surprise that in this thread no one pointed that Cherbebog loin cloth symbol was actually Slavic since its chenebog symbol

So him putting his watermark on it, in the buttom left, is technically not allowed, well partly sure on that part
Just to make things clear. I'm not arguing whether or no FDot messed up, or if he did that he should be scolded for it. I personally think FDot's a good caster. It's not an inexpensive item, so saying it's expensive isn't entirely incorrect. That being said, in relative to a mid laner, and the items they will generally pick up, it's not that expensive of an item. It's pretty much average. On a side note, did doom orb get increased to 2650, or is https://www.smitegame.com/items/ incorrect?
Huh, if I can't find the reddit post I always just google "smite patch notes" and find the patch notes page with every patch note from every version. If you want, you can even bookmark it: https://www.smitegame.com/category/patch-notes/
It's because each tier (bronze, silver, gold, etc.) has an associated MMR range. Whatever your MMR is, it's lower than what the game thinks it should be for the division that you're in. So the game is trying to demote you to where it thinks you belong. As a result, you're going to lose many more TP for a loss, and gain many fewer TP for a win, than if your MMR was higher. You might lose a little less than 16 if you lose a game to a much higher rated team, and you might win a little more than 6 if you beat a much higher rated team, but over the course of many games you will lose more TP than you gain if you only win 50% of your games.
There's basically two ways this can play out for you:
You start to carry and win the majority of your games. You'll continue to get very little TP per match, and thus will climb the ranked tiers much slower than others, but your MMR will rise faster and they will eventually even out.
You get a demoted a few times, and then eventually you'll be in a tier that matches your MMR. At that point, the amount of TP you get for a win and a loss should be roughly even, making it easier to climb the ranked tiers.
Edit: Here is an official post by Hi-Rez explaining matchmaking in detail and giving an updated MMR range for each tier. This information is more official/up-to-date than the reddit post I linked above. Thanks to /u/DukeSloth for the find.
Or how about we just use a better app? Forge for SMITE. Really, after using Forge I've forgotten completely that Smite had an official app. And, if you're an iPhone user, then I heard they developer is working on an iOS version which should be coming out soon™.

Every patch has some balance changes (except sometimes right before a big LAN event), Project Olympus isn't a one-patch-to-make-smite-never-need-a-patch-again patch; it's some big changes to game systems that require more work and aren't something to just casually be thrown in any old patch.
The improved graphics engine, 64-bit, the addition of a new system (prestige system, champion chests), multi-queue, UI updates, ranked improvements, etc are what the project is about.
https://www.smitegame.com/project-olympus/
But to answer the basic question of why Ah Puch wasn't changed, according to their statistics he performs well at basically all levels of play outside of the SPL. If a god is performing well in casuals (exceptionally well - he has like a 70% winrate in Assault IIRC) and in even diamond/masters ranked, why buff them?
well ... https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5924105/how-many-characters-can-be-mapped-with-unicode
Short answer ... Unicode allows for 17 planes, each of 65,536 possible characters (or 'code points'). This gives a total of 1,114,112 possible characters. At present, only about 10% of this space has been allocated.
so that's about 100.000 characters ... now ... the number of combinations possible with something like HiRez ... is in the thousands if not tens of thousand
try to go through them manually

Alright guys, we need more ideas for chest skins!
We make pretty frequent tweaks to Match Making and are definitely always focused on it.
One of the big challenges we have compared to other popular MOBAs with match-making, is that we actually have so many popular gamemodes. It's one of the great things about the game, but it means, that at any given time, even our most popular mode has less than 30% of the people in teh game playing it --> and then that gets split into EU/NA/OCE players, and then split by Level and by skill. There's just so many slices to the pie.
Here's a faq we did on matchmaking a while back. https://www.smitegame.com/matchmaking-faq/
Try youtube-dl for downloading and watching VoDs and streamlink to not have to use their crappy browser player to watch streams (should technically work with VoDs too).

If half of the submitted posts are about matchmaking, on one end, this means HiRez should do something about it to fix it, and on the other end, /r/Smite is meant for all kinds of Smite related discussion, and you also want that other discussion to foster instead of getting pushed away.
Over the years, HiRez revamped the system multiple times, and even dedicated a whole page to explaining it. While it is up to them to decide on how to tackle this community commotion, /r/Smite is an independent place, meaning that this is not intended as the place where people complain and HiRez magically fixes it.
Basically, these two things are to be weighted by the mods. What this practically boils down to is the ruling that removes complaint posts that do not contain useful discussion, information, or argumentation and are not extremely hostile. This goes for pretty much any topic and should not be impossible to keep up to.

It's pure confirmation bias. If this was their genuine strategy we would see things like more expensive skins such as high tier event rewards coinciding consistently with buffs to those gods- but you very rarely see that. In this patch we see both cupid and thanatos getting chest exclusive skins, both gods that were arguably lower tier than Raijin before this buff, nobody would complain about buffs to either god, but they're left unchanged. If they were going to balance around making money off skins why wouldn't they buff one of them? What about this patch where they nerf morrigan and add a skin for her?
Naturally that's not the only place they released it, if you read the patch notes you'd find the information there too. This question has also been asked multiple times so you're bound to see the answers in a few places here on the subreddit too.
This was announced that it was in the works since the start of the season
This hasn't just 'suddenly' been put to work on just because Chris commented.

The official Playoffs bracket will be revealed tomorrow, but based on the standings it should be Titans vs. Dragons and Leviathans vs. Scarabs in the Quarters. I also believe that Bolts as the 1st Seed will be able to select their Semis opponent. These Bo5 sets start on the 18th!
Thanks for tuning in! :^)
Yes, but time and time again pitiful nerfs go through the balance team (ie: Sunder). It often feels like they just don't understand what is breaking the game, so they prescribe bad solutions. For those of us that don't understand Sunder, all the other relics basically suck, and nothing counters it. The base damage is annoying, but Sunder prevails late-game by making a squishy 25% easier to kill, same to a tank.
To get the 15% increase MAXIMUM from Sunder, it would need to ignore 45% of a target's protections!
I'm not an expert by any means, but as far as I know the following, on a high level, is true.
Basically most ports are closed by default. Opening up many ports is opening more opportunities for potential badware (malware, spyware, you know the list) to get through. A port can be identified with port scanning software and will leave you open to attacks.
As far as I know it's not really a common thing, but more ports = more opportunities. If you look at online lists of port requirements you'll see that Smite is WAY out of line with the amount needed. Most need less than 10 opened.
It seems to just be poor optimization, and I'm sure it could be fixed. This also might be the reason for the common disconnects.
So angry...? No. Probably not. But slightly annoyed. Enough to ask them to fix it.
They mentioned a rework a long time ago. Not sure if it's true, but I read somewhere that It is supposed to be coming some time soon after Midseason.

Putting arguments aside, here's the patch that changed conquest minions since season 5. The changes only affected conquest minions: https://www.smitegame.com/news/season-5-5-1-update-notes

in a nutshell, she reaches her full passive at 50% health now instead of 25% health and sped up the activation time of her 3 by 0.1 second.

Look through the patchnotes. There are a few changes made to these new gods.
1) Merlin damage has been slightly reduced on some abilities, but his escape got hit the hardest, making it easier for you to just chase him down and kill him.
2) You gotta beads it before he hits you. It's a lot like Ne Zha or Kumbha ultimate, need to either aegis or beads before he gets to hit you.
3) Jormungandr passive is fine as it is. It allows him to bodyblock certain ultimates (like Arthur which you had an issue with), you can easily melt him down if with any CC. 10% damage increase it not to scoff at. Imagine impaling him as Anhur over sand, he is now insanely slowed and will easily be hit by every spear from Desert Fury while taking 10% increased damage.
In the patch notes it said the skin will not be available right away. It says it will be released sometime during 5.23.
Under the header “Misc” it briefly talks about it
For future reference, patch notes are available on Reddit if you just search it or on the smitegame website.

As a heads up: it was not confirmed in the live notes that it will be the commendation skin, but it's also the only skin not immediately available, so it's a good bet.
Are you sure? Because I saw the exact opposite. When the new god select menu was launched it caused such a major shitstorm here that Ajax himself made a post saying they will fix it
