In other game systems, like Magic, balance updates happen in regular intervals. How frequently can we expect a re-balancing of points? Outside of scheduled updates, if something is quickly shown to be unhealthy for the game, is the option of an emergency update to the app/points something you are willing to do?
Edit: context and desalination in an attempt to get a better answer Edit2: thanks u/Aroghast for desalinating the second half of my question

So the starter set with Poe Dameron is from 1st edition. You want the 2nd edition starter set which will have an x-wing (including Luke Skywalker) and a couple of TIEs. The second edition box has a black front, you can get it on Amazon or wherever just by searching x-wing 2nd edition.
Or just use this link: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-X-Wing-Second-Core/dp/B07CSC5NGH/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=x-wing+2.0&qid=1568991741&sprefix=x-wing&sr=8-1
That's enough to play a basic version of the game, and from there you can buy the expansions for the faction that you think looks fun!
I've been using "X-Wing Squadron Builder" forever. There might be a better option out there, but this one works well enough that I haven't seen a need to go looking.
ALL CANADIANS MUST KNOW THIS TIP
Book Depository doesn't stock everything, but what they do have is the cheapest I've seen for Canadians. Did I mention they have free shipping? (Only click if you're willing to wait 2-3 weeks for shipping)
In-browser? YASB, and no others are even remotely in the running anymore. http://geordanr.github.io/xwing/
Android? Startactics. I have tried all the rest, none are as quickly updated, as smooth and consistently fast and clean. Good enough that I was happy to make the 1-time donation to remove ads. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shinayser.xwingmanager
I have been using Startactics for quite some time. It always seemed cleaner than X-Wing Squadron Builder. It gets regular updates, as well.
They are more dangerous than the 4 Cow list from first. First of all, they have white 2-hards which the Lambda's don't. Also, the Upsilon's real power is in it's alpha strike.
Check out Midwest Scrub's blog on it: Tripsilon and "The Rule of Four"
Hey everyone. I figured I would share my new Mat Storage and Display thing.

So as many of you probably can attest, there are a lot of mats out there and storing them becomes an issue. I also wanted to show them off at the same time because... they look awesome.

So I came up with this solution

First, i highly recommend these mat tubes from Blick Art Supplies. They are cheap, fit a mat perfectly, have a shoulder strap. and are see through.

I then ordered two of these Coat Hangers from Amazon for $10 each. They fit the tube perfectly between the rungs and are slightly rounded so that the tube stays put. drilled these into the studs so that they were secure and BOOM. All in this cost me $85 including the mat tubes.
> I had the idea that the play group is given a large ship, like the Falcon
Then you get them to play Spaceteam - a shouting game while they are piloting.
If you are crafty and are interested in customizing your own storage system, check out my foam core storage using a Star Wars Trunk.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=x-wing+most+wanted&_sop=15 (if you buy off of Ebay... make sure you use a PayPal account to pay for your purchases... too many credit card thieves will high jack your credit card on that site.)
B&N has them in stock and you can use the 25% off coupon, making it $30. Screw the crazy price gougers.

Adblock plus allows non intrusive ads, if you allow it, because some people are okay with ads that don’t loudly proclaim “CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WON!” And have a horrible animated banner that takes up half the page.
https://adblockplus.org/acceptable-ads
I kinda like supporting websites I go to if their ads are not atrocious. Especially webcomics and stuff like that.
Four tackle boxes of ships in a duffle bag now fit into a regular sized shoe box. I also used watercolors to paint the boxes before assembly. Orange for rebels, Blue for imps, and Green for scum.
I'm used to doing paperkraft and stuff so it took me a few hours, but assembly might be a turn off.
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/977697/hwk-290-scale
LFL stated it was the size it is. There's also a bit more discussion over there about this. The 29 meter length was from an old RPG sourcebook and far from canon even when it was released.
The color choice is poor, resulting in strong clashing colors. It's like a flag or dress uniform, which is good for making a visual impact but poor for reading.
Generally you should use a web palette such as here or any of the million other sites that offer this service. These are well tested schemes that are known to work, with sufficient random variation that you get a unique style.
Your layout is also very dense (compact) giving it a 'wall of text' feel. Especially on mobile, the image headings often run into the body text.
There's a good presentation on web design for non designers here. It's a technical presentation aimed at software developers (but there is no code) so might be a little boring, but it does the job. :-)
The Feldherr Mini has been popular lately and has appeared a bit on this subreddit.
Apologies for the CA link, it was in my history and cbf searching elsewhere :P Do check out the Feldherr page, there's quite a few foam inserts available and you can house 3 of them in the mini.
I haven't seen anyone do this yet, so thought I'd share.
I have a ton of these upgrade cards from the conversion kits and was looking for anway to store them for easy browsing and also easy to drop in new cards in alphabetical order (very annoying with card pages) - pilot cards are in a binder with dials.
Got this on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JHQBBPR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_h78RCb1Q7PH2A
And it all fits very well, plus comes with alphabetic dividers (though a little short).
It's my android app:

I think the Resistance Starter set is 1.0! And 1.0 stuff is going to get less common as they’re definitely not producing more.
You want this one for 2.0: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-X-Wing-Second-Core/dp/B07CSC5NGH
Here’s the similar separate x-wing: https://www.nobleknight.com/P/2147733622/T-65-X-Wing-Expandion-Pack
You can (later) look for the Conversion kits (or piecemeal bits from them) to convert the FO/Resistance stuff to 2e if you want.
If you have problems with the board sliding around, or just want to protect the table, you can get some shelf liner from a hardware store (or Amazon) to lay under the plywood.
When I started the gaming club, I invested in some extra-wide black yoga mats, which I cut down to create several 36"x36" play mats. I used an old toothbrush and a bit of white acrylic paint to lightly splatter some "stars" onto them. Each mat ends up costing about $13, and has lasted for years now with no signs of wear. My favorite thing about them is that the yoga mat surface is really grippy, which helps prevent accidental bumping of ships and asteroids. I like pretty much everything about them, really.
If you're interested, search for "Yoga Accessories Extra Wide and Extra Long 1/4'' Deluxe Yoga Mat" on Amazon, or maybe this link will work:
https://www.amazon.com/Extra-Wide-Long-Deluxe-Yoga/dp/B002PA1KWK/
I'm a big fan of Startactics. The guy that makes it also makes a simalar app for Imperial Assault if you play it.
You can tell it what sets you own (plus single cards/promos) and it limits you to those components when squad building. It still allows you to disable the collection and make lists with out being constricted by your collection though.
He also keeps it very up to date (he already has the C-ROC!) and if you ever see a bug/error and report it he has a pretty fast turnaround on fixes.
I'm kind of surprised that FFG hasn't published an official way, through a POD expansion or a resource book or whatever, to integrate X-Wing into their Star Wars RPGs. I mean, back in the 80s West End had Star Warriors which could be cleanly integrated into their old D6 Star Wars RPG...
Not in Utica but bored at work so I'll try to help.
Might try connecting with these two guys on BGG, old thread, though: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/913350/looking-gamers-near-utica-ny
This store outside Utica ran an x-wing tourney on May the Fourth, maybe they have regular games. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Storytellers/321417248152
That's all I saw on a quick search.
Yup, looks like the discount was short-lived. You can see the price history at camelcamelcamel.com.
I wasn't implying MSRP would go down, but street price could? When it wasn't out of print, the Raider was sub-$70 on Amazon http://camelcamelcamel.com/Star-Wars-X-Wing-Imperial-Expansion/product/1616619678
If you have free shipping from amazon (amazon prime), then I've found amazon's prices to almost always be the best. There's a really great site for viewing amazon price history called camelcamelcamel. Here's the page for the Aggressor: http://camelcamelcamel.com/Star-Wars-X-Wing-IG-2000-Expansion/product/1616619406
I use a star wars lunch box. The only thing that doesn't fit is my range ruler, so I glued magnets to it and stuck it on the outside. I just can't play against people that did magnet mods. I use a small sewing organizer from hobby lobby for dice and tokens.
My current preorder...
2X Star Wars X-Wing: IG-2000 [Fantasy Flight Games]
1X Star Wars X-Wing: M3-A [Fantasy Flight Games]
1X Star Wars X-Wing: Most Wanted [Fantasy Flight Games]
1X Star Wars X-Wing: StarViper [Fantasy Flight Games]
Really thinking I should buy another 2 or three star vipers. I see 3 or even 4 Star Vipers as a viable build. Also Barnes and Noble has Slaves in stock. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/toys-games-star-wars-x-wing-slave-i-expansion-pack/25554126?ean=9781616615369
CSI seems to replenish the core sets pretty quickly from what i've seen. They don't stay out of stock for long. Barnes and Noble has it in stock, but it is a little more expensive than CSI.
Have you checked your local game store (if you have one)? It is nice to buy things there if you can.
In case you want to buy it right now, the B-Wing is in stock on Barnes and Noble.
You can use the coupon E4B8B7J to get 15% off one item (it chooses the most expensive one) until 3/1/15. Just be careful! It can take your order below the total for free shipping and end up costing you more. So best used on something that's $29.42 or more (or you have something else in the cart)
> Yeah, you always hear about Fel and Turr though I can't get them anywhere right now.
Barnes and noble has the interceptor expansion for $13.45 currently: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/toys-games-star-wars-x-wing-tie-interceptor-expansion-pack/25554128?ean=9781616615383
Nope, not just you, I ordered one in May through my FLGS and it still hasn't come, I think the exclusive supplier in Canada is Lion Rampant so maybe they just aren't getting any.
Ended up buying one from bookdepository since they do free shipping to Canada on any order size but looks like they're out of stock now too :(
I use Feldherr's bags and foam inserts. They have an insert for every ship if you look around Amazon. Most people I know just use a Stanley or Plano parts organizer. I prefer to store minis in foam, but parts organizers are certainly the cheaper option.
Was it something like this??
As for me, I was using what /u/Nybear21 suggested, but have outgrown it for two reasons:
I still highly recommend that tacklebox or something that supports the Plano 3700 series of boxes (the 1374 was the gold standard while it was made, to the point that the top reviews on Amazon were all about X-wing).
As for what I currently use, I bought a bulk of literature mailers (10x10x2 corrugated cardboard) and put those microhangers/gearboxes in there in a stack. The epics are on shelves in display that I carry in their original plastic when I transport them to the store.
You could try this foam tray from Feldherr. That plus their Mini Minus, Mini, or Mini Plus bags would probably work for what you need and, depending on your location, should be cheap enough. If you're in the UK you can order from them directly, but I've found a bunch of their things on Amazon. I have their Maxi bag for my whole collection and absolutely love it!
I see X-wing Core sets for $24 USD on amazon (MSRP $40), which is decent: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Awakens-X-Wing-Miniatures/dp/B014TKHEPA/
and the Ghost for $35 (MSRP $50) which is also not bad. Little cheaper than normal.
Coolstuffinc has their regular markdowns, but yeah black friday is not really any different than most days in regards to X-wing
Yoga mat. Amazon
It's nice and grippy (much better than the wood table top we were playing on). Also, the mat is big enough that you can make 2 play surfaces out of it.
i'm using the stanley knock-off storage boxes https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017W2Q6PG/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 - one of the things i like about the knock-off is the bins are just a wee bit taller and fit the movement dials better
I am thinking of printing one at my local print shop, introduce to me as by a vet player.
Otherwise I saw this too on Amazon but wonder if the rounded corner will affect the gameplay.
https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guard-Mystic-Space-Playmat/dp/B016PGP1RE
I've used it to play against myself too, just to get a feel for brand new ships or lists I've never flown before.
The web site isn't usable on mobile phones (dragging and dropping sometimes works and sometimes doesn't). I use X-Wing Squadron Builder on my mobile. Why? There is zero reason to print out lists this day and age (its a waste of paper). Mobile and tablets are the way to go and the future of using lists for x-wing.
I recommend checking out what mobile apps are doing. If you want your app to be successful, you will need to find a way to make it viable on the mobile platform.
Start here: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/toys-games-star-wars-x-wing-inquisitors-tie/29773627?ean=0841333100612
Click the button marked " Want It Today? Check Store Availability"
Type in Zip code and search local stores.
Price will be listed (if on clearance)
If the ship is 50% off, all X-wing is 50% off. If the ship is unavailable, search a different ship and try again.
There is another box from the 3700 series that plano sells (four of them come with this case, but I'm sure you can find them individually.)
The real difference is that the front row is twice as wide as the one you have in the picture, and large ships fit in there easily. I'll see if I can find a picture.
Edit: Here you go
I recently made a 500-mile drive (each way) with all my ships in a Plano 1374. No problems at all. I do use the paper micro hangars, which probably help a bit.
I prefer folio binders, as they help keep things from getting lost. I use this - https://jet.com/product/Wenger-SwissGear-ELANTRA-Present-O-Folio-WA-5543-12F00/49957a73fc0147f3922fdb7023ef6345bT8zNACFQaOaQodnagEgA&gclsrc=aw.ds
If you're in the US:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/toys-games-star-wars-x-wing-starviper-expansion-pack/28515239?ean=9781616619381
They are selling for suggested retail right now, but you get free shipping and you might be able to find them in your local stores to pick up right away. (Click "Available for Pick Up In Store").
Bring 2 or 3 lists. The opens have the hangar bay side tournaments, and they are great day 2 (3?) options if you don't make the cut. You'll want some options, since the meta will be pretty varied by then. Be sure to read up on the new rules.
For transport (and overall storage), I use a Plano tackle box that has everything, but all of my core components (tokens, templates, dice, etc.) are in the top tray along with (most) of the ships, dials, etc. I need to fly my 3 most used lists. (I say most because the Shadowcaster is too big for the tray and sits in the top of the box.)
I can post pics of my setup after work. The trays in question can be bought at Wal-Mart. The table box comes with ago the trays you need for about $40. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Plano-Angled-Tackle-System/15904153
Edit: forgot to put in that when I go to the tournament, I leave my table box in the car and take in just my top tray + any ships I need that are too big for the tray.
Presumably by "The Buying Guide" you mean stayontheleader's, which is the best one.
I covered the topic slightly more recently here: https://wordpress.com/post/patricksxwingblog.wordpress.com/76
As far as overlap between Rebels and Scum (heh), they share a couple chassis, meaning you can use the models/dials for both factions, but that does not help you that much in practice unless you're considering a conversion kit.
So in your position I would be looking at:
Starter Set
Slave I (Scum)
Fang Fighter
Mining Guild TIE (very fun Scum ship and you can use your Starter TIEs as proxies to fly more...on a casual basis)
Phoenix Cell Squadron Pack (this + Luke is a nice barrel of Rebels to start with)
If you want to lean into chassis-sharing, you can get 3 Y-wings that can break for Scum or Rebellion by buying the Rebel Y-wing and the Fugitives and Collaborators pack.
Around here's when I would pause and figure out what I like to fly. Additional purchases should suggest themselves after that!
I really dig the Stanley cases..
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/943758/love-gaming-x-wing-storage-solution-acrylic-templa
I use them to store everything except the pilots and maneuver dials, but I think you could fit those in as well, as they show people doing in the BGG thread I linked.
When I don't have a large enough order for CoolStuff / Miniatures, Amazon is next in line, especially when the item's on Prime.
Yea it's noticeably more than CoolStuff, but if shipping is free it's still well under retail.
Also, Amazon prices fluctuate, so I recommend something like camelcamelcamel.com to snag better prices.
From the Internet buzz last year, it seems like Prime Day doesn't have nearly the deals it had in years past. If you see an X-Wing thingie "on sale", check one of the Amazon historical prices sites to make sure it's just not "on sale" from a marked up price.
Camelcamelcamel is the one I use, like so: http://camelcamelcamel.com/Star-Wars-X-Wing-Punishing-Expansion/product/B013TRXXD6
Honestly that's exactly what I would suggest for a starting player.
Check like a local barnes and noble. I find they have both aces in stock regularly. Rebel Aces is in stock on their website.
Looks like they very well are back in stock. Compare the A Wing page to the falcon page. Looks very different.
I host a live weekly show sponsored by the Scum and Villainy podcast airs every Thursday at 6PM PST. What I do varies but usually I'll either cast a game, play a random opponent with a listener submitted list or have a guest on to see the list they've been flying lately and how it handles against what's popular right now.
Dice are random, the app is most likely a simulation of random using an algorithm to determine the number. So any number generated by a machine will alway be pseudo-random, in a pattern than can be deciphered and exploited. Unless of course there's technology included to make it true random like a number based on atmospheric noise and etc.
That's the point I'm making.
I actually use small magnets and play on sheet metal. It looks something like this. You have to slide from the base, but otherwise I find that moving ships is so much easier with the magnets.
I bought this a few months ago. They are small and it worked out great so far in my games. I believe free shipping to most countries from HK. http://www.dx.com/p/red-laser-keychain-3xag13-10083#.U_OZumN_-nQ
Hey! I'm the host of the Gold Squadron Podcast. Hopefully we can gain you as a listener! Our next episode will be released this upcoming Monday. We put out episode every other Monday. Episode range from 60-90 min. Our last release was audio from a live show we put on and our last "studio" episode was episode 13. https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/goldsquadronpodcast/episodes/2016-10-23T08_39_19-07_00 Enjoy =)
To add to this, I also use PLANO tackle boxed to store my X-Wing stuff.
I have the following (none of these links are affiliate or anything)
That set comes with four removable tackle boxes, as well as a large top compartment and a tiny little one as well.
This is ideal for building boxes dedicated to a single faction, or perhaps multiples of the small factions. I have a case for Rebels, Empire and Scum.
Those boxes will comfortably hold most small starfighters, as well as many medium sized.
I coupled that with these pluck foam trays:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GQ6LWMT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
These are ideal for most of the larger ships, though there are other options that are a bit deeper for similar cost.
Don't toss your plucked foam
You can use the plucked inserts to pad out your plano boxes, especially if you get creative with it. Some fighters are super awkward, but I find the foam helps keeps stuff in place if used creatively, and the foam trays are great for holding bigger stuff like the Falcon.
The best part about the large tackle setup is it's great for transporting your collection to a place to play, or you can use a single tray to bring your list to a tournament or event in a store.
You can also pickup extra trays of the same size and just mix and match what you intend to bring.
My friend and I both use this system and it has worked great in both 1.0 and 2.0.
1 & 2 : Best advice on the ffg app is not to use it.
Yet another squad builder 2 : https://raithos.github.io
And Lunch Bay Next : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.launchbaynext
Are much quicker and easier to use, and are both less prone to errors.
Thanks! I'm using these corner braces which I adhered to the painted ship base. I have the ferrite magnets attached in-turn to those braces. However, I do not recommend this method currently- its VERY precarious and I had to add some additional free floating magnets below them as 'bracing'. It works as a band-aid for now and looks okay, but I plan on designing a different method for these in the future... I wish there were 90 degree pegs, but sadly my research into that met at dead ends. I tried heating some pegs up to bend them, but the tolerance just isn't there to get a clean bend and pull off a clean look.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07PJZK954/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_N7hOFbF37KG10
Ours are like these, but have a hole in the handle that I use for hanging, and they have a rubber lip so they don't tear anything. Not sure where my wife got them, I'll ask when I get home from work and update you!
I bought this case from Amazon and I'm going to get some foam like you have to line in. Fairly cheap and really good for carrying stuff.
Stanley 014725 25-Removable Compartment Professional Organizer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005QWYF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_4XtIwbQM5SVPX
These Ultra Pro sleeves? I have them and really like them, although I've never used the FFG ones, so I can't give you a comparison there. And there are 3 reviews on that Amazon page, all positive.
Thanks!
Here they are on amazon: Star Wars Storage Trunk. You can also find them at Kohls I think. Just search for Star wars storage trunk. I originally bought mine last year right after the movie was released at Michael's art supply shop.
The colored ones aren't "reinforced" fyi
Edit: Do not buy this particular item from amazon. Price is too high.
GW and Privateer have changed to include stats digitally in an app (with physical cards optional in the case of PPS, for people who still want physical cards). Usable, branded tablets are $50 now. When will we get optional digital cards for X-Wing?
here are some on amazon, i use them for dials and small ship tiles
these pages in general are made of a stiffer plastic not soft like ultra pro pages
but before using they can be "loosened up" and work great
Most 24x72 (2ftx6ft) yoga mats are about 15 dollars on amazon. The 36x72 (2ftx6ft) yoga mats are about 25 dollars. 36x72x.2 Inche yoga mat
I have 3 3" binders. They zip closed and I have put patches on each one to identify the faction they are part of. I couldn't find the exact binders I use on Amazon but I did find their updated newer model which is exactly the dsme as mine but with the added strap rings.

The Plano 5231 is where I would start. I have several that I keep mine in (my collection is rather large). The top section will accommodate all the ship tokens, the gameplay tokens and templates & obstacles. The inside will easily fit all that you have along with the dials and damage deck with plenty of room to spare. I am storing complete conversion kit cardboard and a majority of the small ships in the boxes. Adding a bunch of large ships to the collection may present an issue eventually, but you can fit a YT-1300 + another large ship without issues. The Ghost does not fit in the box unfortunately.
Edit: The prices on Amazon for the red plano are not great right now though.
The HDX interlocking series is pretty great, too. The containers lock together making it easy to add to the collection as needed and they are easy to carry. These can accommodate the bigger ships like the Ghost, too. maybe go with this. The price is good, too.

A lot of people use these 25-bin organizational boxes available at walmart/harbor freight/amazon. There is also fair 3rd party support for them on etsy/shapeways/thingverse/etc

They are just the right height for most ships and IMO removable bins >> fixed slots or removable dividers
Storage was always a challenge, but one I had fun with. I had a decent sized Plano for a while, but not only did my X-Wing collection outgrow it, but I also got into Armada, and it was REALLY hard to find storage that could fit an ISD easily.
I discovered the Stanley click and connect series of tool boxes, which appears to be difficult to find now, but was all over amazon prime a couple years ago: STANLEY STST19900 Click 'N' Connect(TM) 2-in-1 Tool Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAHS2EL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8fJOCb32XTHFA
One of the main box and a few of the smaller boxes (I think I have 5 total of the smaller ones) fit everything I had for X-Wing and Armada except cards. Tokens went in smaller plastic tackle boxes which went in the top compartment along with the giant stuff like ISDs and Armada bases, and everything else went in the smaller boxes (which are still deep enough to hold a VCX-100). Templates went in the top box, and the compartments on top hold my damage decks, my dice, and my laser.
All the boxes clip together with heavy duty plastic clips, so they stack well for storage in the closet. The best part is, when I want to go game, I just unclip the relevant boxes and take those.
Cards go in a three ring binder, and I have a small (4 pockets per page) folio to take the relevant cards I need for a game night.
Plano 23750. Its durable and the containers inside are adjustable for whatever size and shape of token, obstacle, or ship you want to bring. I can safely pack 2 list into it with enough tokens for everything. Your maneuver templates and range rulers fit like a breeze. Never had any reason to switch in 5 years and they're only $12 prime shipped on Amazon!
I have 3 of these grey ones, which are no longer listed on Amazon. I got a blue one at Lowes, also no longer stocked.
But, coming Monday are black ones from a different company on Amazon that look quite similar. these They are about the same dimensions as what I have so I hope they fit well with them.
With that said, any small parts organizer with the wider drawers will work if you're looking to store cards and medium/large ship templates. The small drawers would work fine for tokens and other components.
I picked up something similar on Amazon that's worked pretty nicely for me, at least for the price point. It also has pluck foam so I've got one for my grab-and-go Republic and grab-and-go First Order.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0170RIRVY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Purchasing a 1.0 Raider on Amazon along with a conversion kit is still cheaper than a 2.0 released Raider would be. Plus, you get a bonus TIE Advanced x1 and all the conversion kit contents. The conversion kit provides you ALL huge ship related upgrade cards in duplicate whereas the 2.0 Raider would only have single copies of select cards. Overall, I think you're better off and it's $25 less than the MSRP on the 2.0 Raider.
EDIT: Link was not for what I thought it was sorry.

We do have app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fantasyflightgames.xwingsquadbuilder
Has the same issues than web for what I've seen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xwing_builder&hl=en_US
I haven't used this, but it's the same author, so I'm guessing this is the app.
Looks like Amazon doesn't have its own offering yet, but a third party seller (with outrageous shipping) is saying January 31st. I hope they're just putting a cautious estimate.
Is this the app you use? I don't have one, as I haven't played the game more than a handful of times, but I'm looking to play more and a proper listbuilder would help. I haven't proxied anything yet, so when I saw you said you had your collection in an app, that really interested me. If this isn't the app you use, mind pointing me in the right direction?

You need to set a reference card next to it to have it work, so it can't be used without being obvious. That is probably a good thing.
I highly recommend X-Wing Squadron Builder. You can import XWS files or text (from clipboard). So you can create your lists from a web app, export to a XWS File, load the file to your mobile and use the x-wing squadron builder to import.
I personally don't like the web based options so I either build the list on my phone or I use Genymotion to use the app on my desktop.
Being a primarily mobile user as of late, I'll have to give props to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.eko.squadronbuilder
It's a fantastic list builder, but also includes other features, such as a wave by wave listing of expansions, which you can click on to see what is in the expansion. Or you can explore by individual cards, which you can click on to see what expansions they come in and how many.
That's so great to hear! Here's another way you can have a AI control the opposite ships: Mark 13, an app for android
Also if you're lazy like me and don't feel like looking at an AI chart for determining TIE moves, there's also an Android app that handles much of it for you.
X-Wing AI - Aturi Cluster is similar to the Mark 13 app that /u/eunoiared mentioned for freeform skirmishes, but instead mirrors the HotAC AI, and even lists the specialized behavior for each ship type.
I use this app to decide moves and I play as hard I can against myself. Usually testing two different list with actions and what not.
I was refering to this app which is still on the play store. I do have the squad designer app, but I don't like it quite as much.

You will probably not find one in the size you need but you can find a upres or upsizer program to get it to the size you need
Just did a cross-country move, left my minis stored in tackle boxes. No damage to any of them.
Only other steps I took were 1. Putting a zip-tie on the top lid to extra seal it, and 2. Kept the boxes in a spot in our shipping container where they could not be knocked around.

If the ship is 50% off, all X-wing is 50% off. If the ship is unavailable, search a different ship and try again.
Not a literal ring. Just take a dab of E6000 with a q-tip and make a little layer around the concave bit. Basically it "rubberizes" the magnet and they stick really nice. Use as little as possible or you will have to cut some away.
