Recently bought a Lemome to avoid ghosting and get something a little more durable.
120gsm ivory paper, I haven’t had any sort of ghosting or bleed though. The pages are a bit wider too, helps for larger spreads!
https://www.amazon.com/Dotted-Bullet-Notebook-Journal-Hardcover/dp/B07168XGHT
It’s just one from amazon! I love it bc I mess up all the time so it’s nice to just take the pages out. I also use this hole punch which is amazing bc you can change the spacing so your pages can fit any binder you get! I got it for really cheap at a local Tuesday morning but you can also find it Michael’s and Joann’s and use a coupon it. And I love that too so that you can choose whichever paper you like in it.
All you need is a notebook and pen! It can be any notebook and pen, as well. If you want to be fancy, a lot of people recommend a Leuchtturm1917 notebook. You should also read about the bullet journal method.
But the most important thing is to have fun and use this journal to organize anything you need in your life!
Excited to start September (my bday month - I'm 40 this year!) with a new journal I found on Amazon that seems to be of surprisingly good quality. The 160 gsm pages are going to be great for doodling and painting I think!!
For me, the fineliners of any brand that are actually metal nibs do get a little scratchy but you just rotate the pen in your hand, like you do with pencils as they get blunt. You can't use too much pressure on them or use them up against rulers too hard because it cuts into the tip (and no metal rulers at all!). For me, the Papermate Flairs actually drag on the page compared to my fineliners which flow really nicely when you're on the right part of the nib. I actually like the Artline 200 Fineliner in black for my usual writing. Or the Papermate Inkjoy gelpens in the 0.7mm tip.
The Staedlers are a much finer point, I think they're 0.3mm when the Papermate Flairs are 0.7mm. So they're good for writing and small detail but you might want to stick to Flairs if you like nice bold lines for boxes and stuff. The Sharpie Fine Point that I use is 0.7mm but I know there's a Sharpie Permanent Marker that's fine point so I thought I'd link the exact one. The Artline 200 is a 0.4mm tip. So based on what you use and their tip size, the actual Staedler Fineliners might not be best for you but there might be some that are more what you like based on tip size.

I bought these before I discovered bullet journaling, but they've been awesome for it! I use the tabbed ones to mark my habit tracker, future log, and monthly spread. It comes with clear reinforcement stickers for the tabs so they don't get all messed up. I use the little colorful strips for my weekly spread because they don't get in the way as much. I love how the medium sized tabbed ones have a dot grid on them! You could also easily cut the tabs off to use them within the page.
I've been journaling now a couple of months, and it's done wonders for my productivity and peace of mind - I'm not dropping things anymore - or at least far, far fewer than I did before. My latest experiment (I love that you can experiment and tweak Bujo to your heart's content!!) is planning my days. Prior to this experiment, I'd work around my scheduled commitments, and skim my journal for open tasks whenever I had free time. Now, I'm planning my day first think in the morning - over coffee - when my mind is at its most focused. My wife had been encouraging me to try this for a while - but I'd always dismissed it as too inflexible, and unable to cope with higher priority interruptions. Then I ran across Cal Newport's (the Deep Work guy) blog post on this, and it explained things in a way that made sense to me and addressed my concerns about inflexibility. This stuff works!

My key:
I second scribbles that matter, when I was looking, that was the brand that seemed to have the thickest pages. However, it also looks like amazon has a pretty wide selection of canson sketchbooks, so you may not have to switch after all?
Canson Artist Series Sketch Book Paper Pad, for Pencil and Charcoal, Acid Free, Hardbound, 65 Pound, 8.5 x 11 Inch, 100 Sheets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009L5XPU2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GrYxBb1A3E124
I use these Uniball but I feel like the quality's gone downhill, the ink is opaque but sort of clogs easily sometimes so you have to go over the line a few times to fill in gaps. So there's one suggestion and someone else might have a better one.
Ahhh cool! I might try that style.
In terms of journal, I recently got this one and it's been amazing. The pages are SO THICK and might be able to hold up watercolors! I haven't tried though, I'm not super artsy, but I would suggest trying it out!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L4N48DR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_a0YeFbNGXEKJY
If you have a Muji store near you, they sell a very large variety of unbranded notebooks for very cheap (like $3-4 for anything), although their paper is like 90 GSM.
Otherwise I'd just look on Amazon and check for anything that's 100 GSM, like
If you're looking for a good rollerball/ballpoint, these muji .38 rollerballs are the best pens I've ever used for just every day stuff. Never scratch, dry immediately, super reliable. Cheap.
I'm a big fountain pen fan, but for actually Getting Things Done, this is my go to
It's really kind of a devotional with a reading for each day of advent. The one we're doing is Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, and it has readings from all sorts of great pastors and theologians. You can check it out here: https://www.amazon.com/Come-Thou-Long-Expected-Jesus-Experiencing/dp/1433501805
I've got this saved on my amazon wishlist. It comes in A5 and B5 - I know you might not be uk but you might be able to search for something similar x
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B091YLT1WC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_CJAQV5Q81EGDBVZ3E28H?psc=1
Good luck!
I use these for lines and designs. Prismacolor Premier Illustration Markers, Fine Tip, Black, Set of 5 https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0026HJGDW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_NPCQ6301ZMRZ2P3K3CWC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And I use a fountain pen with Pilot Namiki IC100 ink as my daily writer.
I'm happy with Peter Pauper Press' bullet journal.
It is good quality, durable, affordable, and I like the paper quality at 100 gsm. The paper is slightly polished so it is great taking ink but I don't think it would work well for water colour if you do that in your bujo. It also only comes in black but I like that they look like matched set when I shelve the old ones.
I'm on my third one!
>They have lots of cute designs. I highly suggest spiral-bound. It makes it so much easier to just have open on my desk every day.
I switched to the Miliko spiral notebook this year and absolutely love it. Amazon has one with a soft leather cover that looks pretty sharp so it works well as both a personal and a work related journal.
https://www.amazon.com/Leather-Softcover-Wirebound-Notebook-Journal-90/dp/B06XH4CB9M/
The whole cover does seem too bulky to me, but I like keeping things as simple as possible. Do you feel like the elastic band is in a strange place? To me it just does not make sense, it seems difficult to open and close. It seems like a very nicely made product, but just not the most practical and useful in all aspects. It does not seem like there is one right product on the market however.

He wound up one on Amazon for less than $20 just to kind of see what he does and does not want in a cover before spending more on a nice leather one, and so far really likes his cheap one! It just came yesterday however, so he may change his mind.
I'd highly recommend the size B5 if you want something bigger than A5, it's not quite as big as A4. Some brands which sell B5 in dot grid are scribbles that matter (also highly recommend) and I've seen moleskin ones too!
Dotted Journal by Scribbles That Matter - No Bleed Dotted Notebook with Inner Pocket - B5 (Charcoal) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07M71M2MY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_t-83CbKNQ6ZB4
This is the scribbles that matter one from amazon 😊
Yeah there’s no way I could’ve started without a pre stenciled one I was so unorganized a year ago I wouldn’t even know where to stat
I got it on Amazon and it was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made in my life!
Also not an account manager, but my last job was multi-client and I used a bullet journal in that context. The biggest challenge I ran into was that even if I was keeping a solid index, it became troublesome to jump to the latest notes for a particular client, or from the current notes quickly check the last page or two of notes relevant to that client. Here's what helped me turn it into a useful tool:
a) Threading. This helped particularly if I was already on a page related to client A and wanted to find the previous page for client A, but the next trick made this almost unnecessary.
b) Marked page edges (https://lifehacker.com/mark-page-line-edges-to-organize-your-paper-notebook-1621183184). this way I had a quick visual index of what pages belonged to what client, and the full index when I was looking for something specific. hopping to the latest notes on a client or checking the last few pages for that client was reduced to a couple seconds.
If I had started a second journal at that job, rather than using the main index for client-related items I think I would have created an index page per client, and edge mark it appropriately such that the first edge-marked page for a client was the index for that client.
She's pretty awesome. Her habit ones are good.
I'd add on that Google Calendar (or similar) is far far better for long term things, future planning and me sucks. But daily habit trackers and dumb lists are so much easier in bullet journalling and leaving it by my laptop or in my purse is great. Mind you this means adding a hook to my desk for purse and spot for book + phone + wallet but.
Point is, bullet journalling is a good thing if you can avoid the perfectionist Pinterest trap and just have a semi organized system.
/u/UnlimitedEgo this is better for me then index. Also linked How to ADHD channel cause I realized halfway through this I'm not replying to you. Oops.
If you want to use pomodoros, make sure the work you do meshes well with the system. I tried to do it, but found I had too many meetings and time-sensitive tasks that it broke them up too much, and I couldn't take a 5 minute break in the middle of a meeting. But I did start tracking my working time digitally to keep myself accountable for actually doing work. I use Toggl to track the time I spend working on different projects vs in meetings. I started with time-tracking tasks, but then thought "is individual task tracking really helping me?". No. Then I track my projects in Todoist, meetings on an outlook calendar (work), with day-to-day scheduling in my bujo.
If you want some ideas for what might work for you, try out this quiz: https://todoist.com/productivity-methods

It’s super low res and kinda cheesy, but can get really fun too. Will have to reset every now and then when characters get maxed out, but I know people who have gotten years out of that game.
I am finishing up my MA right now and starting my PhD in the fall, so I have been really analyzing my workflow and bujo habits to optimize before the program starts. I dislike how daily logs and more "mundane" stuff can clog up my bujo so I do all of that digitally (through obsidian.md, which I cannot recommend enough). My bujo can then be solely dedicated to important meeting or class notes, brainstorming, a two-page monthly spread that I do, and then more journal and reflection pages (I try to write at least a sentence a day).
For my dissertation research and larger projects I have a dedicated commonplace notebook (this is super useful if you are in the humanities like me but might be less useful for hard sciences or other fields--I don't have any experience with commonplace notebooks in those fields). If you don't know, a commonplace notebook is essentially just a dedicated notebook for you to log quotes, write reflections, and brainstorm ideas in terms of connecting thinkers or texts together. I find this dedicated space to be really fantastic, and then I always scan my old notebooks and digitize them into my obsidian "brain." (Once again, I cannot speak highly enough of obsidian and their backlink system, they also have a feature to automatically organize notes by Zettelkasten, so that might be of interest for you.)
Good luck with whatever you decide! I have really enjoyed developing my workflow but it will undoubtedly change down the line, hopefully for the better haha!
My cover page for my new bujo. My old one has the remainder of July set up and like three pages left. I'm super happy with my yop and Tom I got from Amazon. I used heavy water colors and marker and zero bleed through and minimal buckling. Not bad for $22. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08P5YP78K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_WEAN4T15P72BAYFBSNTH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I like these. They are more pastel than the pictures show, but you can definitely tell the difference in the colors.
MONAMI Essenti Highlighter (12C DZ) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011QJIXNO/ref=cm_sw_r_sm_apa_glt_fabc_H4Y72027RT0ATXTGTP46?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Plan out what goes in either system and draw a key/color/code to denote something that moves between. I've run two systems and that's the main thing to set up.
If you want to stay in one book/system, try:
Kokuyo Campus Binders : You can pick the size and paper, lined, dotted line, dot, graph, and blank. Dividers can be added. As small or large as you want to make it and you can move the pages around. The kokuyo paper is wonderful for everything from stub fountain pens to fine liners to pencil. They also have daily/weekly pre printed pages.
https://www.jetpens.com/Kokuyo-Campus-Slide-Binders/ct/4350?&f=cad0c3a58a710312
Maybe some of the Clairfonte multi subject notebooks for other projects so you can denote a section for a project
https://www.amazon.com/Clairefontaine-Wirebound-Multiple-Subject-Notebook/dp/B0029F9YGA
I've gotten the talia dot grid, and did not like it at all. The dots are really really dark, and a slightly bigger spacing. Nothing looks good on it. The dots just take over everything, I do not recommend.
Found this listing on Amazon. Good price, 120gram paper, I haven't tried it, but am going to put it on my wish list, so I don't lose it.
The thin pink lines are from this set:
iBayam Journal Planner Pens Colored Pens Fine Point Markers Fine Tip Drawing Pens Porous Fineliner Pen for Bullet Journaling Writing Note Taking Calendar Coloring Art Office School Supplies, 18 Colors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0772XSNXY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4NGFRDF33MWRFG947YPV
The February is written in a dual tip marker/fine point pen that have no branding information and were a gift, I tried to find them online and I couldn’t, I’m sorry!
The line along February is the skinny end of a tombow
This one. It’s the cheapest of 3 that I’ve bought so far, and is the sturdiest one that wound up being my favorite
I recently bought the essentials notebook by peter pauper press from amazon, which is hardcover and 100gsm
I'm very happy with it so far. I've heard some complaints about the quality declining recently, one example being that the dots don't line up exactly between the two pages of a spread, but it's such a minor thing that would only be a problem if you make full-spread layouts. I honestly would have never noticed it if not for someone telling me about it in another post, it's like a millimetre off. I haven't had any issues so far in terms of ghosting while using my fountain pen, though I couldn't comment on other materials like markers and paint... lastly would argue it's a really good price (11ish CAD) for the quality, compared to others like moleskine and lechtteurm that are 20-30+. there's also tons of reviews on the amazon page that might help you decide. andddd now I've just realized that you're looking for B5 woops, maybe this brand has a B5 if you look into it.
Depends on whether you want to go high cost or low...
If you go to specialty craft stores (in the US, that's like Michael's, Jo Anns), you'll find really beautiful stuff but it'll be expensive. The best deals on Washi tape I've found have all been at office supply stores - it tends to be random collections of prints, but they're fun and you can get a lot for a little money.
There are also specialty stationary stores that will have bujo specific stuff.
Check out etsy for more in the "expensive but gorgeous" category.
For the more budget choices, any dollar tree will have stickers and washi tape and gel pens. You may need to use some creativity but I've gotten a lot of my washi tape over the years from them. Walmart also has good crafting supplies.
I also check out every thrift store I happen to go into. You never know what kind of crazy half-full packages of stickers you're going to find and they're dirt cheap.
The most valuable thing I've bought, though, for my bujo is a circle stencil - https://www.amazon.com/Helix-Integrated-Templates-Assorted-36002/dp/B0044S5CZM I use that to make round trackers. Everyone is always wowed, even though they're very easy.
Also don't underestimate the value of a straight edge. I keep a 6" ruler in my bujo pouch (which I bought custom on etsy because I'm a princess).
I got this Jumping Fox notebook recently and I am very pleased with it. It had everything I wanted except a fun colored cover, but the tweed has grown on me for sure.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0818Z3YTY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not stupid at all! This notebook is my first one! i just started bullet journaling in August. I used this cheap one so I could try out the system and see if it was a good fit for me before shelling out money for a fancy notebook: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0797P84CZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
The grip is moderately stiff silicone while on the pen. It doesn’t seem to change the weight of the pen at all, to me.
I found the exact grip I use here, if you’re interested.
I ended up super gluing them onto my favorite pens because they do shift/loosen over time.
Grid is luckily pretty common! You can find it from journal brands like Leuchtterm1917 and Moleskine, both of which are really popular among bujoers. Totally recommend checking those out. However I’ve found that I really like Lemome. The journal cover may not come in cute colors but the paper is thicker than the other two brands, which I really like. It used to be a bit cheaper too, but I think they’ve increased the price since I bought mine.
It doesn’t hurt to start out with a cheap journal if you want to though! You can try out a random cheap one you find on Amazon or even try looking for one in a store around you (I’ve seen grid journals before at Walmart).
You might want to try looking up laboratory notebooks on Amazon. For a while I had my bullet journal in a Vela notebooks. They are extremely good quality because they are meant to be archival. They usually come with a blue grid setup which I am sure is easily removed in Photoshop if you are scanning images or drawings etc. https://www.amazon.com/Vela-Advanced-ProCover-Notebook-Full/dp/B01M1MJP33/ref=lp_14640355011_1_5?srs=14640355011&ie=UTF8&qid=1516226504&sr=8-5
I just saw this leather cover on Amazon tonight when I got home. Added it to one of my lists right away. Fits A5 so should fit the Rhodia notebook fine I’d think.
No bleeding! Just a little waviness from the water. I make my own pages for my bujo using HP premium 32lb paper. It is really smooth and made of nice quality. Here is a link to it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBJKYTU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_iAAQBb2ZYWZR8
this is the YRL best notebook. i’ve never really heard of it before but i got it on amazon i actually just started it for april, but so far i love it!
Hmm. If you need suggestions for small notebooks the zequenz on Amazon is a notebook I used for a while when I was doing just to-do lists. It’s small and chunky and maybe it’ll work for you to carry around. Here is a sketched out spread just like this on one of its pages. Hopefully it helps if you’re willing to get a new notebook, otherwise you can totally modify the spread to suit your current notebook’s size!
Many thanks for the feedback! I like how you described it: a chain of reference material and have its own collection. I think this is what I tried to look for intuitively. I'll definitely work more with this concept.
The app I'm using (on Android) is called Loop habit tracker. I'll add a link to it on Play, I hope it's allowed. Loop habit tracker (Android). Not advertising, I have nothing to do with it, just love how simple it is.
Avery Metallic Repositionable Tabs. (Currently discounted to $3.72.) One for the future log, one for the current month, one for the current tracker, one for the current week. PRO TIP: Don't put them on the front of the page you want to see; put them on the back of the page you lift to see it.
I love magnetic bookmarks like these. I find that they stay a lot better when I take my journal on the go, rather than just using a paper clip.
I ordered this one from Amazon because it had 160gsm paper, and I really hate ghosting. I kinda had my fingers crossed because I had never heard of the brand (Tumbitri Meri).
As it happened, I was pleasantly surprised. Super high quality, dots are visible but lighter so they aren't obnoxious. Cover comes in several covers, is a soft, nice-feeling vegan leather with a gold metallic feather design. If you go to their non-Amazon website, the creator has the story of where the name and design came from, how she came up with them, which is kinda neat.
Dunno if this qualifies for what you want as a "nice" design (I mean, I like it) but I can definitely vouch for the dotted/high quality.
Edit to correct A&O reference.
I used to carry around these little pocket journals amazon link and would have my todos and short thoughts and then would try and transfer those to my bujo at the end of the day and/or update them at the start of the day.
Maybe a Kokuyo Smart Ring Binder o plastic binding combs (like this https://www.amazon.com/Honbay-Plastic-30-Hole-Binder-School/dp/B08G48MQ13/) The rings are thin so is similar to a normal spiral but you can open it and add more sheets . Also you can use two pieces of 5 rings one at the top and one at the bottom of the page
I found this on Japanese Amazon. And it looks good! You can choose the display language of this site. I haven't decided when to buy it yet, because I still have a lot of blank pages on my current journal. https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%9F%E3%83%89%E3%83%AA-MD%E3%83%8E%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%83%80%E3%82%A4%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC-2023%E5%B9%B4-22213006-12%E6%9C%88%E5%A7%8B%E3%81%BE%E3%82%8A/dp/B0B2CMJQKQ/ref=sr\_1\_50?crid=1GPFG4R2MF059&keywor...
You could even make your own with one of those large post-it pads. Cut it down to the size you want and add in vertical lines. Turn it sideways, and each existing line could be a day of the week. Then stick that bad boy back in your bujo at the end of the month.
This probably isn't exactly what you're looking for but I've purchased two and I really love them.
I have this one that I use with medium tip fountain pens, markers, and thin sharpies and they handled it well! The elastic closure and inner pockets come in handy too
https://www.amazon.com/Hardcover-Bullet-Journal-Thick-160GMS/dp/B099QXTN67?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp
It really depends on the weight of paper in your journal tbh, but, for mine, I use these: -mildliners -tombow brush pens -tombow fudenosuke pens -TUL gel pens (just for writing in my book reviews) -fineliners (arteza, some random ones from Dollar General, micron, and even the sharpie colored fineliners) -crayola super tips -papermate flair pens -Sharpie S Gel pens -gelly roll gel pens I think I’ve ever only experienced bleeding with prismacolor premiers because those are suuuper thick and pigmented. With the others, I’ve been fine to draw and recolor the same area a couple times with no issue.
Daolen a6 notebook on Amazon, it’s my FAVORITE a6. Numbered pages, pencil loop, and index. :D
I find that an A5 journal is too small, so I use a B5 one. Currently using this UBER GORGEOUS bullet journal from Zen Art Supplies on Amazon! Dotted numbered pages, built-in index pages, fountain pen friendly, too. Got it cause I'm a pretty notebook hoarder and the sides of the pages have this really beautiful pattern that matches the cover. >_<
Peter Pauper Press Essential dot matrix A5 notebook. 100 weight smooth paper!
I use the hobonichi weeks but this moleskine planner is somewhat similar
They’re Stabilo. I’ve added the link, I didn’t know they came in so many colours 😍 I’ve only ever seen them come in the 4 pack that I use! Stabilo on Amazon
I have something like this https://www.amazon.com/Chris-W-Calendar-Decorative-Patterned-Masking/dp/B09MVH52NH
It's a washi tape roll in monthly sections. You cut off the dates to make the month start on the right day. I didn't get mine from Amazon. I've had it for a few years and bought it from a seller I found on Etsy, I believe. It fits on my 5mm dot grid and (mine, at least) is slightly transparent so you can see the dots under it.
The Café Note A6 notebook isn’t dotted, but has a 38 row by 26 column 3.7mm grid. You can get them from Nanami Paper or I’ve also found it on Amazon.
I added the link to my first traveler's notebook. The one I have now is more expensive, good leather and holds more. I use a regular A5 in it so it's chonky. I pick colors that compliment each other so that it's pleasant to look at since it's not neat.
The one I have now is from Chic Sparrow. Her black Fridays are your best option if that's how you want to go.
Hello, I use a list in Notion and I complement it with my Bujo, I write in my Bujo what I eat every day in the weekly pages. You can see the link here if it works for you, duplicate it :)
Tape the used pages together. If you absolutely have to remove pages, use some sort of blade like an X-acto or a ceramic knife and cut the page out just above the spine so it's still attached.
I used to keep one of those for random note taking before bujo and iphones existed. you can whittle down a pencil till it fits nicely in the coils.
For bujo I got a slightly bigger one that can take a pen in the side and lets you have an actual spread. Its not quite perfect for a pocket like yours though.
I got these to take notes while playing poker and am now using one to start a bullet journal. I had to jerryrig the grip on the pen I wanted to use but it slides into the spiral part now and overall. As someone who typically has keys/airpods in one pocket and phone/wallet in the other, its a big bulky to add in for constant pocket carrying but the writing experience is nice. If I'm just around the house and include it with phone+airpods in sweats/PJs then its fine.
I kinda write big so I need more space. I'm trying a bunch of formats in my current bujo and the really tight one, I don't like.
Black and Red Notebook with optik paper has bright white paper and dark rule. Unfortunately, the ruling is legal (narrow). It comes in side double ring binding or case binding.
I don't know if this is along those lines, but it was something I was thinking of getting when I started socializing again https://www.amazon.com/Connection-Night-Reflection-Journal-Inner/dp/1647222184/
I haven't ever seen bigger dot grids, but I know there are smaller dot grids - if you got 3.5mm or 4mm dot grid, maybe you could write over two lines there? Something like this
I think these are the ones I'm going with. The extra shades of blue make it worth getting the larger set.
STABILO Point 88 Mini Pen Set, Set of 18, Multicolor https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000WGYO9U/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_PV51NF6YEXGB4J2KE9E6?psc=1
There is a German brand of stationery which also produces fineliners and I would assume those are the most popular ones in Germany. I also really like their quality but I am not sure if they would meet your criteria and if they are available outside of Germany via Amazon. If yes, I can only highly recommend them, there are also other sets available if you search for the brand on Amazon but I will put down the link for the basic 10 piece set.
For your budgeting needs: check out YouNeedABudget (YNAB, pronounced why-nab). https://www.youneedabudget.com/ It's a method for budgeting with a very simple set of four rules to take charge of your money to achieve some of these wonderful goals you've set for yourself. Here are the rules:
1) Give Every Dollar a Job 2) Embrace Your True Expenses 3) Roll with the Punches 4) Age Your Money (pay next month's bills with this month's money)
Don't know if you share finances with your SO, but it's been three years since my wife and I started using this together, and we've been able to save for our wedding, find money for the gym and personal training each month, completely get out of credit card debt, stop overdrafting, and still budget for dates and discretionary "Fun Money" each month. We sit down at least once a month for a Budget Date and anticipate what we need from each category (clothing, haircuts, makeup, gifts, travel, etc.) It's vastly improved our communication about money. I'm so grateful to the "real adults" of /r/personalfinance for recommending it!
This one is completely outside of the bullet journal model. However.
Have you ever heard of the Eisenhower matrix? Here is an article about it. when I am completely inundated with tasks, I usually type them all up on a computer and then sort them using the Eisenhower method. Then, I print off the list and migrate tasks to my bullet journal pages based on priority and importance.
Good luck!
It’s bare bones, but I love it for that. Soft cover might be a deal breaker, but for $7…
I have something like this. Holds two pens and fits over the cover of my tn.

I know this is a digital system, but all of my expenses go on YNAB (you need a budget). It helped me pay off my student loans 6 years early, helped me get out of credit card debt, and helped me use credit cards in a responsible way. I use the BuJo to put in reminders of updating YNAB. https://www.youneedabudget.com/

You can't go wrong with wirebound Clairefontaine or Rhodia, they have several sizes and paper type (lined, grid, blank, dot grid), and the "doubled" wire is sturdy and won't get distorted like "single coil".
Rhodia has more solid colors as covers (orange white or black), whereas you can find some prettier cover designs with Clairefontaine, or if you don't like illustrations, just a wider range or colors.
Both also have some of their wirebound notebooks with a sturdy "plastic" cover as opposed to the standard cardstock they usually come with.
Both papers are good quality, and they are not expensive. So a good choice !
Not a bujo but my friend uses something like this: https://www.amazon.com/One-Question-Day-Five-Year-Questions/dp/1250108861
Perhaps an open ended section like "Tell me about your day, I'm here for your thoughts." might suffice?
Use what you already have or get something inexpensive, the first bujo is always filled with a lot of mistakes from trial & error, you'll be changing things on every single page while figuring out how you want it to help you so you don't want to feel like you've "ruined" an expensive notebook. You'll change around a lot until you figure out what works for you. The first couple notebooks will be the biggest "mess" from that, though I've been at it almost since it was first introduced and I'm still constantly trying new things.
Depending on where you live, my new favorite is these EMSHOI notebooks on Amazon (not an affiliated link), I can even use fountain pen.
And go to the main website and watch the introductory video if you haven't already. It's fun using places like Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration, but you need to know the basics as well.
Hongdian Forest series- black. It’s on the cheaper end of the spectrum as far as fountain pens go, but it’s been my EDC pen for 3 years now. For 17 bucks on Amazon it’s nice and weighty, and writes smooth of a little scratchy on the wrong paper.
Absolutely! For journal, a book symbol like this could be easier or a pencil. For inspiration for stuff like this I like to check out sites like iconfinder.com
I run a small app business (https://noteplan.co) and track my sales numbers in Excel for every day, do some journaling in a paper notebook by recalling what I have achieved yesterday and writing down what I want to achieve today + any problems which are bothering me. I'm thinking by writing. Then I do the "serious" bullet journaling in my app "NotePlan" where I write down the main task of the day and review what is left from yesterday to transfer it to today.
Just today, I’ve discovered the app GoodNotes & have been setting up a new 2021 BuJo planner. I’m really liking it so far- good options for me without being so overwhelming that I rabbit hole. I checked & the pages are printable, but I’ve not yet printed them out to see how they register.
It looks like it’s just designed for iPad though.
We redesigned Taskade recently to be perfect for bujo users along with bullet journaling templates. Hope it helps!
I’ve found I like the basic monthly spread given out in Ryder Carroll’s book, so it sticks to that general idea. However, I use the questions found in this notion document to get a better grasp on what needs to be done during a certain month + checking in on myself. Also, I keep my mood tracker up front because I feel it’s important to gauge how I feel each day to my general productivity, since I know having a bad day can really mess with my goals!
The best notebook is by Nicholas Sparks. har har har.
But seriously, perhaps you could look into those ring bound notebooks that can be refilled. I don't have a certain brand to recommend, but 5 years ago, I was gifted one with a faux-leather case and a power bank. Kind of like this. I used it as my idea board, journal, and emergency college notebook. So it has seen plenty of battles and opened and closed it multiple times a day without issue. Since the paper is refillable, you can use the type of paper you prefer as well as if it's blank, dotted, or ruled.
I’m so glad you asked! At first, absolutely NOT. I hated it it and went back to paper. Then I found this screen protector and it really does feel like paper! I’ve been using it for about 6 months and I love it. Writing and drawing both feel very natural. My only complaint is that I will never get the Feel of a fineliner pen, but I am satisfied with the feel of pencil on paper
Something like this might work https://www.amazon.co.uk/Conference-Padfolio-Business-Document-Portfolio/dp/B01MCT751U/ref=asc_df_B01MCT751U/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=218230750958&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7070087324207627059&hvpone=&hvptwo=...
You can get different variations without all the extras but essentially you have a notepad area and a binder area
These are the stencils I use. They also sell them in smaller sets.

And kinda like horchatamama99 said, use a wide mouth pint size canning jar (or upcycled salsa jar) for sets I’m currently using and want easy access to.
I am Personally using a pen storage solution like that, it was cheap and pretty and stores a lot of different tombow markers for me!

I'm partial to Minimalism Art. (Though I think I'm personally going to see if I like using a plain old composition notebook for my next set-up.)
Great reviews, the right number of pages, and had everything else you asked for. I want one myself but want to get through my other notebooks first. The different colors go on sale at different times and you can also sometimes find a coupon for extra savings on top of that. Saw one up for $13 a couple weeks ago and I should have snapped it up then lol
There is one on there but it looks like it’s from fedex

Here is mine on Amazon

I tried this cheap journal from Amazon and it shows off sheening really well from my Birmingham Tesla Coil. It has thick paper and I don’t get feathering or ghosting. I tried it with my usual gel, mildlighters and brush pens before transitioning to fountain pens and all worked well. The pages aren’t white though, it’s cream colored so I’m not sure if you’re okay with that.
looks like Amazon has some but I haven't used it
