Listen, /u/Warlizard... you and I have been through a fair amount over the years. We've had some compelling conversations, shared some secrets, and even discussed a collaboration which both of us failed to give any serious consideration. In a very real way, I think of us as the Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel of the site, and not just because of that one time when some guy wrote a weird novella about the two of us tangoing with /u/vargas.
The thing is, despite all we've been through, you've been more than a little bit cold when it comes to one particular topic... and so here, on the anniversary of your most notorious claim to fame – more well-known even than your oeuvre of excellent literature, your many creative accomplishments, or your utterly unflappable sense of ironic wit – I've decided to publicly clear the air as I ask you the same question that I've been approaching you with for the better part of four years:
Can I have some of your french fries?
If I were you, I would ask for a raise or find an other job.
The average salary for a SQL developper is around 93k$ in Michigan
Don't undervalue yourself OP.
Facebook is for older people. Think about it, Facebook is a place to gossip and talk to your friends who don't see everyday. Teenagers these days have a place to see your friends, school. There's no reason for someone to spend 8 hours at school, and then Facebook. It's unneeded. We usually are already texting each other.
Here's a nice essay on the topic that I agree with
Here is a handy chart for you. Check out the price of a girl in Mozambique
Edit: Holy crap, someone even wrote a book about it.
Those guys are just talking theories. all YouTubers have different rates based on where they get their views from. America and UK are worth a lot. Africa is not
I just went to read the TOS of adsense. https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms
IT does say that you cant share click through rates but it doesent mention anything for total income. Also supporting the fact that you can share total income is http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/2005/05/15-common-mistakes-by-google-adsense-publishers/
So yeah. Did you read the TOS lol
Let me know what you think. Make sure you have a few minutes, its a looong read :)
>Have you ever hacked a Gibson?
I prefer Fenders, better tones IMHO
>Why is your WoW character a female dwarf?
He is not a female! He just has very feminine features.
>Are you a fedora man or a black leather duster man?
I have been known to wear both at once before. And they prefer "african american" leather duster.
>How oily is your ponytail? Do you oil it, or just not wash it?
My ponytail is so oily the US tried to invade it. I oil it daily with T.E.A. oil: The Essential Athiest oil
>What Linux distro best describes who you are as a person?
Fedora of course! https://getfedora.org/
>How many swords do you have in your sword collection? (yes, you can also count the axes, and other martial arts weapons) How many of them do you use in comat?
I have 3 swords, a Katana, a handful of ninja stars (assorted shapes), 2 detachable brass knuckles, a cane that turns into a sword, a butter knife, and a Hirokamhaki Pho Tonto blade. I am a firm believer in weapon owning and using. I only use my mind in combat, I am not a violent man.
And that is the biggest problem of all. Hacking is inherently a visually boring activity which usually doesn't show well on screen. It is a slow solitary activity with minute bursts of excitement which are not noticeable by anybody unfamiliar with jargon and command lines.
The best you can do is making it a more visually interesting experience, so we used a lot of metasploit & armitage.
I know about as much as any bs biology graduate. My microscope was from amazon and is very decent for the price. Personally, I've always been fascinated with observing life under the microscope and have spent several hours using the one I have now. If you have a passion for it, then I'd say it's more than worth the money.
I believe this was the microscope given to me: https://www.amazon.com/Promotion-Set-40X-2000X-Microscope-Mechanical/dp/B0094JTZOU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1476405809&sr=8-2&keywords=omax+microscope

I hope, for his sake, your husband finds out soon and gets himself away from your selfish, greedy, poisonous ass.
I hope the fleas of a thousand camels invade your snatch.
And I hope, for your and your children's sake, that someday this happens to you. More figuratively than literally.
Alright here's my experience, apologies if it's a lot of nonsense
We share a 2 bedroom apartment, which in my home city our rent is pretty good compared to current market value. We are on month-to-month so we could have moved out if we wanted, when we broke up we decided to keep the place, in part because of rent sharing, and second because it's a really good place.
It was pretty easy going until the pandemic lock downs started, forcing us both to stay home. But we had established boundaries, and often share cooking meals, help each other with chores, and we still spend time together watching movies or playing games (video or board).
One of the challenges will be whenever one of us actually leaves. We bought a lot of things together; a nice TV, the couch, the bed she uses, some of the game consoles and so on. Eventually one will have to buy what they want off the other.
If you don't have a second bedroom you're going to have some difficulties. One of you may have to take the living room or other common space as their bedroom and set up some kind of privacy barriers.
In a way, you're in a form of non-monogamous relationship now and it might be a good idea for each of you to do some reading on the subject. This book is pretty good though it probably covers a lot more then needed in your context.
Here's what has helped us maintain our friendship:
Hope this helps, feel free to DM if you'd like some more details on anything.
Hello! Catholic here. This is a question that comes up a lot when matters of faith are discussed and I figured I'd add to it.
So humans are clearly not perfect. We live in an imperfect world. There is no aspect of this world that is without flaws.
Christians say this is because of Adam and Eve. Whether or not one sees that as the reason, it's an undeniable truth. Evil is the absence of due and proper good where it OUGHT to be present. So basically, evil cannot exist without good because it's simply the lack of goodness.
Therefore God doesn't exactly "create" evil. It's a result of imperfect beings with free will. If we did not have free will and God was a master puppeteer, there would be ONLY good or ONLY evil in the world. However because man is flawed, we do not always choose the good; this separates us from the Divine and defines our human nature.
As for the cause of childhood cancer, natural disasters, etc...I wish I had a perfect answer for that. I will say that every time I've encountered a tragedy or hardship in my life, I have greatly learned from it. I am reminded of Victor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning" when this question arises, because I truly believe that it is God calling us to discover the meaning in every occurrence.
In closing, faith is a calculated risk. Perhaps being unable to answer every single question that arises about our world and still choosing God seems silly to some, but faith without doubt is no faith at all.
This is such an awesome question and can take pages but I'll be brief. RealNetworks was a pretty great place to work in the late 90s, early 2000s and around 2008-2009, the downturn began. We had a solid couple of years during my initial years (2007-2008) but that was the beginning of the decline. If you look at the following image, you can see revenues and cash starting to decline at around the period (no affiliation to that website, just something I found quick).
From being a fun place to work in, at a fun location, Real became a place where people got demoralized from seeing incessant layoffs, no leadership and CEOs didn't last very long. Either from layoffs or from people leaving, we lost talent and the people who were either desperate enough or loyal enough to stay behind were penalized with more work. Aka deathspiral.
What was the company's biggest asset at one point became an un-ending liability: the founder and CEO's insistence on playing it safe and clinging onto outdated technologies and products. That and the company is an excellent study in missed opportunities. For a company that was pioneering internet streaming and excellent codecs, it didn't become the next Netflix. It lost talent that went out and came up with hugely successful companies.
It was like any other corporate company. So you had your fair share of incompetent people, dicks, sex affairs etc. I do miss the old building near Belltown which had its own bowling alley, ping pong tables, foosball tables, huge lounging area. Now the company is a shell of what it used to be and repeats the same mistakes leading to the same solutions that were tried before and failed. Almost insane.
My favorite is the <em>Cut and Run</em> series by Abagail Roux. They're not the best written, but they were one of the first series I started reading, and I fell completely in love with the characters. They're FBI partners in love. It's sweet as shit.
I've already told you, man. You're a bad partner because you've made a habit of it and because you believe that of yourself, not because that's who you are intrinsically. I really do believe you can salvage this, but if you really think that you don't love her enough, fine.
Even if you don't take her back, I really recommend you read the book Learned Optimism by Martin Seligman. I just finished it recently. It's a self-help book, but backed up by decades of serious, well-respected psychological research by the author. I think you could use it.
There are a bunch. I just got finished reading GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn, but usually these days I read non-fiction.
Favorites: The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris, Where I'm Calling From by Raymond Carver, The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M. Cain, The Breaks of the Game by David Halberstam, Dune by Frank Herbert, Buddhism Plain and Simple by Steve Hagen, Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, and Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty.
Fakes.. hmmm. I mean they're pretty frequent but they don't come around too often. Like google filters out a lot of them since I use gmail, and the rest don't usually come around unless I'm posting in men4women instead of casual encounters.
So many women bail its ridiculous, I try to set a good image but they just get nervous and back down. I mean it does take some bravery. So that's always been a bit of a downside.
My worst story? I think my most terrifying story will work. I had a woman who looked really good from her photos and she had a few of them too. And when I got there it turned out to be her. The scariest part was - it was her like 10 years later. I can't imagine what she went through but the area was nice, the building was decent, and when I got into the place she had hair patches missing, was scratching herself, and was obviously a drug abuser. I left so fast and didn't hook up for a few weeks after that lol Here's the guide if you're interested. https://gumroad.com/l/FVgSe
Some code quality questions. Are you using:
Most importantly, will you ensure that users do not need to give you their password, and use something like OAuth2 instead? Giving you the password would be a major no-no.
ok you said yes :) posted on a different comment too, but here you go. SUPER EPIC INTRO
Let me know what you think. Make sure you have a few minutes, its a looong read :)
It's a really great feature when it's designed right. Apple's OS X got an app store before Windows, and, I'm not trying to be a fanboy, but I think it's really great. It's good for the babyboomers because by default, only apps from the app store can be installed so it's a really great way to avoid viruses. (This does not apply to the Windows app store.)
But it's good for power users like myself that change the settings to allow apps from anywhere because app store apps still have the benefit of autoupdating. I never have to go through any manual update process with 80% of my apps.
Yeah, you'll be fine. Most of the rich people I know have learned to hold onto their bucks instinctively. Course their kids, those little monsters piss away money like it was nothing. Ah well, a few learn, the rest, mooch off of the rich kid friends they made growing up. ;)
If you want to learn what NOT to do, look at all these Powerball winners. They grew up with no money, and in about 8 years, they're broke again. :D All their friends and family sucked em dry, then moved on to other people to mooch from.

"The initial six infusions cost $3,800, the beneficial effects of which last anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks for some patients, and up to 12 weeks for others. Patients return as needed for single boosters, which cost $600. Because the FDA has not approved ketamine for this use, insurance doesn't cover it."
If insurance doesn't cover it, how on Earth do you afford it?

So many questions xD let's see. I have not meant the The Ranting Gryphon. I'll have to look him up. I haven't gone to any cons but I have a local group I hang out with. I am a straight female lol I don't know if people still use Live journal. I personally use Telegram and Amino.
Here's a link to my Amino so you can see my sonas! http://aminoapps.com/p/7kd1tt
10g, or 100mg? Other than Korova bars, chocolate bars tend to be around 100mg-200mg, each piece containing 10-20mg. I've never seen a 10g bar, what brand is it?
For the lazy, her gonewild submission.
Appreciate that you included a face pic, too. I always find tits without a face pretty worthless... I was gonna ask why you cropped it out of the other pics, if you were gonna show it anyways, but I realized I'm a dumbass.

Based on the fact that he has tons of posts about this on his Tumblr and has discussed it on other social media sites as well, I think it legitimately is his life. As I've said before, though, I can't say whether he has schizoaffective disorder. Maybe something closer to schizoid personality disorder
"Affected individuals may be unable to form intimate attachments to others and simultaneously demonstrate a rich, elaborate and exclusively internal fantasy world." - wikipedia
"Unlike schizotypical personality disorder and schizophrenia, people with schizoid personality disorder make sense when they speak (although the tone may not be lively), so they don't have conversational patterns that are strange and hard to follow" mayoclinic
I don't think this guy is faking it. Sure it might not be schizoaffective disorder or hallucinations, maybe more so a figment of his imagination, but I don't think it's all fake.
I honestly haven't seen much of it, but from what I saw there was a lot of misinformation. This should be obvious though, as they don't make the show purely to save whales. They also want it to be entertaining. The fact is that we aren't really the nation of savage barbarians that they make us up to be.
But some of the idiotic Faroese people they were talking to were actually real. Honestly, many of the extreme whaling apologists are complete morons in my eyes.
edit: Someone just posted this hilarious "Whale Wars Continuity" image on my Facebook feed.
Not OP, but I can answer some of your questions for a different movie...
I saw Mad Max: Fury Road seven times in theaters, five of which were first-run showings, and I have the Trakt.tv history to (sorta) prove it.
Yep, and bought tickets for friends on some viewings as well
Rationalization, because that's really the big question:
Monetary cost: I have disposable income and don't see a lot of movies, and I actually keep a budget. So I had a good bit of cash saved up designated just for seeing movies. Additionally, I loved the fuck out of the movie, and in addition to it being enjoyable, I also thought it was an important movie for representational/character reasons, and I wanted to support that with my dollars, so it didn't feel as much like I was just throwing that money away. Additionally, it's definitely a film that benefits from the big screen.
Opportunity cost: I came out of the first viewing kinda wanting to just start over again from the beginning, so it was definitely enjoyable on repeat viewings. I also rounded up different friend groups for each viewing - so each time was hanging out with a different group of friends, chatting afterwards, general social times. And above: in general, I love the film, and repeated viewings in a short time span let me notice new little details - every viewing, I picked up on a few small things I hadn't noticed before. Plus, I probably fuck around on Reddit for at least two hours on your typical weekend day, so...it's not like I have a lot of better things that I'd be doing.
There aren't a lot of films I'd see 7 times in theaters, but Fury Road was one of them, and I have no regrets.
Fortunately you are in the age of the internet. Whatever you do, don't go and shell out hundreds of dollars on textbooks. If you are going to pay money, pay for some online services that really provide you with learning platforms that can help you with your listening as well as reading.
Have a look online at places like http://iknow.jp (there is a button at top to change the display to English) to get started. Quite user friendly and easy to do for ten or twenty minutes a day. Later on you might want to try out something like www.lingq.com, which is a very nice service.
At www.ankisrs.net you can get some free flashcard software and start plugging in things you find here and there to memorize. Maybe starting with Hiragana is a good idea. Youtube should have a bunch of good channels to watch as well if you have a hunt for them.
I think if you want an easy way to learn the very basics to see if it interests you, you should try the free trails of Treehouse and Code School. I think Python is a great language to start with, but Java or Swift work too if you want to learn to make a phone app
Honestly not gonna lie, vegan jerky like Stonewall's or Louisville and potato chips, and beer.
I was not. I was actually raised super carnist. BBQ's and smoked brikets all summer. Bacon & eggs for breakfast, deli sandwhich with no veggies for lunch, whole roasted chicken with maybe some potatoes for dinner. That sort of 3-meaty meals a day lifestyle. I used to be someone who bullied vegetarians (i didn't even know about vegans).
I've been vegan like 8 years now though, all that seems like a bad dream now.
they are slightly more expensive but not all that much this is assuming you're in the US though as I'm not sure for other locations here's an amazon link to one brand that can be found in drug stores as well https://www.amazon.com/LifeStyles-7324-SKYN-Original-Condoms/dp/B004TTXA7I/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1491792767&sr=8-6&keywords=condoms&th=1
45 cents a condom is more than some latex condoms but if you have an allergy I don't think it's entirely unreasonable.
EDIT: also did some more digging and found some latex condoms as low as 10-15 cents each but they had to be bought in packs of 100 or more for prices like that.
In the media you hear a lot of trans acceptance and that’s trans people are real men / women just in the wrong body. Me personally , I don’t think trans should be discriminated against but it seems like we are going through “ trans mania “ right now and they are forcing it on people . I have read a lot of literally and research that many trans regret their transition and it has led to a lot of suicide , depression, life expectancy of mid 30s, and other health issues because we still are not 100% sure of the long term consequences of gender transition. How do you feel about websites like this : https://sexchangeregret.com/ Or books like this https://www.amazon.com/Irreversible-Damage-Transgender-Seducing-Daughters/dp/1684510317
That both talk about people regretting sex change and that the increase in the number of people declaring themselves as trans dramatically increased . Do you think this kind of stuff is harmful? Have you read it? Why did you decide that you regret the transition? Have you met someone who transitioned younger but lived to be above the age of 65+?
Thank you for this AMA- I’m sure you can shed light on a different side of Trans the media doesn’t cover so much. Those who regretted it
If it is okay with you, I will pass on awarding this question so that another may have a chance to get an award. Thank you.
You can order a good waterbottle from Amazon for under 20 bucks. Best to go with a large one like this, since I have this one:
CamelBak Chute Mag Water Bottle, 50oz, Charcoal https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07664TBN1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_R8WECbCB80PDA
Fill it at night and put it in the fridge. In the morning, get it out and keep it with you at all times. At your desk, when you go out, at work, etc. Try to finish a whole bottle at least once a day. More if you can. Staying hydrated is incredibly important. I used to be in a similar boat, but buying a big ass water bottle got me in the habit of drinking water. Less having to refill, so you don't need to worry about it as much.
Good luck, my friend.
I live in Wuhan.
I use PureVPN, it is fairly average.
I'm not a fan of kids. I'm also quite selfish and don't really want to take care of a kid for 18+ years.
I've been married for a year and a half but the wedding only took place in April of this year.
I've been to Shanghai plenty of times but never the expo.
I saw a post the other day that had a list of other programs to help stay anonymous in conjecture with TOR.
Disconnect: helps block sites that track search/browsing history.
Https Everywhere: auto switches sites to a more secure browsing.
Ghostery: helps detect and nullify trackers, cookies, etc.
VPN: a well established and respected one is Private Internet Access.
TAILS: put on a USB stick. Any auto stored files that would normally go to your hard drive are instead put in your RAM dump file. When the pc is shut down it automatically deleted all traces of everything stored.
Hmmm. Probably The Great American Challenge. It's a fucking huge dildo. It's not the dildo itself that's scary, it's imagining someone sticking it up inside themselves. I kinda want to buy it just because it's purple.

Thank you!
I would consider myself a democrat, but I'm not fully on board with any of the candidates in the presidential election.
Favorite movie would be Avatar. Favorite book is a difficult one, but I just read a really good book that would be on my top five. It's When Breath Becomes Air. As for hobbies, I really enjoy cooking and going for runs.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you decided to stick around. :)
Star Trek. So much TNG. I'm not even joking.
I hope you don't get the impression that I was some sort of prodigy child who was super-brilliant & reading "Novum Organum" in the original Latin in middle school. I constantly find books that everyone seems to have read except me - feels like I'm always playing catch-up.
I owe a lot to Sherlock Holmes stories, NOVA, Bill Nye, "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" & a show from BBC named "Connections." There's also a book I rescued from a dumpster called "Practical Logic" which was my introduction to thinking about language like a mathematician, although it took me a long time (& several friends helping me along) to really get it.
When I got to college, Kant & Nietzsche straight-up knocked me on my ass. I was too busy trying to get girls to notice me as a teen to pay proper attention, but I at least recognized that something momentous had been dropped on me, & I thought about them whenever I had a moment between games of CS.
Hey, let me chime in real quick about my thoughts on death.
Most people don't like the idea of there being nothing after death. But something you may find interesting is that Theravada Buddhists intentionally cultivate a state called "cessation" while meditating, and they believe that one who attains this state will no longer reincarnate. According to Buddhists, one must deal with an infinite number of reincarnations, with even the most exalted and heavenly lives all coming to an end eventually. Thus, the highest happiness was for it all to finally be over, for consciousness to come to a complete stop.
I think it's an interesting view of life and death, regardless of whether you believe it.
If you are interested in a more secular view of Buddhist philosophy and meditation, there is a free book that I cannot recommend highly enough called Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha.
Here is an erowid experience report from someone who practiced meditation using MCTB as a guide.
As for fearing death, if you think about it, there's really nothing to fear. Do you fear falling into a deep sleep every night? In that state, there is no consciousness, yet most of us welcome it as restful and nice.
Agreed - really screwing over our generation.
I read mostly non-fiction books about business and entrepreneurship. I'm partway through Think and Grow Rich right now and I'm really enjoying it.
Last nonfiction book I read was The Alchemist. Loved it.
Good Will Hunting is a favorite of mine. Best comedy I've seen recently is 21 Jump Street.
I think Richard Feynman talked about this in Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! He was in a sensory deprivation tank and was able to eventually move where he considered his "ego" to be down to his chest, but when he lost focus it went back to his head. Though it's been a while so I might be wrong about some or all of that.
Prometheus Rising is a must-read! I forgot about that. Robert Anton Wilson is brilliant, so that answers your next question about non-fiction writers. Robert M. Persig wrote Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, which is a little dry but touches on some pretty heavy issues. Rom Doss and Swami Beyondananda come to mind, too.
Some people I knew were into some darker stuff like Aleister Crowley and Anton LaVey, but they were just creepy (the authors, not the friends).
But if anything that suggests the EU won't issue punitive trade tariffs against the UK as it would hurt them more than it would hurt the UK.
Focus is something that it takes some dogs time to learn how to do especially if they haven't done a whole lot of training with you. Start small, just walking around your yard near the obstacles and when your dog looks at you or gives you attention say "yes" and give them a treat. You build up a reward history with the dog over time and they soon figure out they get rewarded for paying attention to you.
Then you can begin to transfer that behavior over to agility. Here is a good video on some behaviors you can teach and use for focus.
Depending on your dogs age, sometimes it takes them a bit for their brain to mature. Don't expect a dog that is under 18 months of age to be able to focus on you for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. They just don't have the maturity level yet (usually). Once a dog is about 2 years old they can focus longer and train longer. My Cardigan is almost 2 years old and we're finally able to train about 45 minutes before his brain shuts down.
Short training sessions are best for new dogs. You don't want to frustrate them and you as the handler don't want to get frustrated. Agility is supposed to be FUN for both of you!
Oh and keep the jump height low for her health. Probably want to set the bar at 8" max for practice depending on her shoulder height. Always practice at a low height sometimes even with the bar on the ground. It's an easy obstacle for small dogs to do cleanly so you don't need to practice height.
Well trader joes is huge here on the west coast but there aren't any ALDIs
For me just being in the French Quarter is an experience in itself. Walking around the city, going into the shops, trying the food, or even just sitting by the river and enjoying the scenery. I go into the city at least once a week and ride my skateboard around and watch the sunset on the levee and it is always a relaxing experience.
Also: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VHrb8QypwH91hdU6jhz9teT154EDCjlMZh3WrRBQZyc/edit?hl=en&authkey=COus88QJ&pli=1 That will give you alot of information on things to do and see.
I have now see two. I saw the 1999 one but I was in the south of France so it wasn't that good. Plus I think I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now.
Don't be so pessimistic just yet. A Solar Eclipse is due on the 21st of August 2017 and will pass through the majority of the US.
More information here.
The courts ruled that those on specific newer plans (at the time) would be able to get data free (and even then, a capped amount of data). It specifically excluded grandfathered unlimited plans.
And ten there's this, direct from their terms and conditions found here (which you're in direct violation of) - http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/vz-email-legal/
Customers who do not have dedicated mobile broadband devices cannot tether other devices to laptops or other personal computers for use as wireless modems unless they subscribe to Mobile Broadband Connect.
So as you see, no loophole, you're just violating your contract by using third party apps to enable tethering. They'll have every right to cancel your service, or even possibly hit you with some fines (although that last one is rare).
Source - I've been in the wireless telecom industry for over 20 years, working for two of of the major carriers in the us (and not in sales or care or anything like that). I can also say with certainty that people like you who abused their wireless networks by downloading enormous amounts of data using third party or hacked tethering apps, were directly responsible for carriers implementation of data caps and throttling. It gave them the justification they were looking for to screw over everyone else.
Edit - also, here's an article where they say very specifically that unlimited data plan customers do not have access to free tethering - this was published after the courts decided that verizon needed to give free data to some users. http://www.zdnet.com/article/verizon-no-free-tethering-for-unlimited-data-plan-customers/
This is about the past rather than future plans, but do you know anything about the 360 alpha dev kit, the one that used Apple Power Mac G5 towers?
Hey! I started doing the same thing about 3 years ago, and It's been super rewarding for me as well. One suggestion I have is to make a rate your music account and put all your albums on there - it's a great way of finding new albums and keeping track of the ones you've listened too (in a different way then last.fm).
Now to questions!
Has listening to albums changed how you experience music?
Are there any genres you haven't listened too but would like to explore? Any you flat out dislike?
How do you like to listen to albums? While doing something else, or only listening?
If you could recommend everyone listen to one album, what would it be?
Good question, Gamut! I guess you guys can hear some stuff.
Metal Band Song. I am audible hitting things throughout most of it.
And if this AMA goes over decent I'll let you guys sneak a peak at some unreleased chiptunes stuff.

Plus you know...countless lived life experiences of me personally and every single other trans person I know.
Edit:
Now its your turn. Provide me a single study without a flawed methodology or bias that shows my suicide rate is still the same even with hrt and a supporting environment.
eSports are basically professional video games.
Games such as: League of Legends, Dota 2 and Starcraft have teams/players making a lot of money playing in leagues similar to a football (soccer) league and tournaments like the World Cup etc.
For reference here is an article about the League of Legends World Championships that were held last year: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/32-million-people-watched-league-of-legends-season-3-world-championships/1100-6416259/
Another question!
Are there any super secret drinks? I know I saw a secret Starbucks menu floating around on the Internet awhile ago, but are there any store specific drinks? I know that the Starbucks on my campus has the "Wake the Fuck Up," which is simply five shots of espresso and three-five pumps of your flavor of choice.
I don't know I just don't keep track of my games and I really have an awful bad memory. But if it counts it's Portal 1&2. And as for flash game my fav puzzle game is: http://www.kongregate.com/games/MaTX222/one-and-one-story
I found these two things while walking a trail in a local park in Houston. What are they? After some googling I think the green one is a hedge apple. But not sure on the brown one. Leaning towards oak gall. They were both found on the ground. What do you think?
something similar, I cant/wont go into detail.
From an End User Perspective? Or something more? That is a massive open ended question and I am not sure where to start as I could talk for days if not longer on this project.

One of the most fun interesting projects to start with would be something like PiHole. I swear by this project. It is really good if you have malware lists built into it, It's by no means an extensive list but security should be layered anyway. Get a GOOD Antivirus. Bitdefender scores high in the charts. And the most uncommon thing I can think of is... "If it's too good to be true then it really is" ... Ignore these scams on Facebook. You know which ones I am talking about.

If any service you use is in the list published, Perhaps email your local representation to see their views on it.

Yes. Very good book, although I'm not such a big fan of "literary comedy" to call it something, I'm more of a Drama person than a Comedy person in general. But I actually have a leatherbound copy of the whole Hitchhiker's saga that I picked up in a trip.
The Pitcairnese Language by A.S.C. Ross is a somewhat dry literary study of the language. There are some Norfuk books which is an offshoot of Pitkern spoken on Norfolk Island. The childrens book Mi Bas side orn Pitcairn has some examples of the language.
Hashtags have become so overused. One because I think brands have this stupid idea that it makes them look modern. But also because hashtags are no longer just for twitter, they're able to categorize social conversation across basically all social platforms.
Providing content beyond just your company news is definitely helpful. That can help diversify your conversation, but also help people see what your company is all about and what you care about.
There are some amazing studies done by a company called Exact Target that detail why people are "fans" of brands on social media and why they interact with them. Super useful. Here's one written up on Mashable - http://mashable.com/2010/09/16/facebook-users-interact-brands/
You can access all of them by just giving your email address to Exact Target too, here: http://pages.exacttarget.com/sff
You should follow these ladies and this guy for more inspiration! The latter being much more snarky.
I actually have Secret Historian out from the library already but I haven't had time to get into it. It looks pretty good though.
Nice pizza!
Here's a quick link to some hotels
Because I have a house to stay in, I don't think about hotels much lol. The link can help you with picking a good one that suits your needs :)
Online dictionary, http://jisho.org/, mostly because searching by radicals is so easy compared to analogue versions.
As for idioms...I don't know very many, but you see 一所懸命 (Isshoukenmei: trying your hardest) all the time, so that, I guess?
I've mostly been using DuoLingo It's pretty straight forward and you have the option to test out of lessons if you already know some French, plus there are discussions on every sentence, so if you don't understand something you can ask. There's also a streak counter and the longer you keep your streak for, the more "lingots" (in-"game" currency) you get. You also get lingots for completing lessons and every time you practice your words or complete a lesson, you get XP, so there's plenty of stuff to keep you motivated.
As for tips, practice everyday, don't bite off more than you can chew (make sure you have a pretty good grasp on the last lesson before moving on to another), and since you're Canadian, do some research into the differences between Canadian French and France French. Edit: Also speak everything you learn out loud. There are a lot of sounds in French that aren't really used in English, so it's going to feel very odd at first and you're going to have to train your mouth muscles to pronounce them correctly.
> I heard that there's a lot of BS information around when it comes to internet marketing, and it's hard to find a genuine internet marketer who wants to help others succeed in the field.
Indeed. The best I can offer is to read this LinkedIn blog post:
It was written by me to help would-be clients asses an SEO agency's competence. It's quite detailed, so don't be intimated, it's for people who are serious about SEO.
Dunno about the OP, here's my answer
edit: but it was almost a decade ago. If I had to re-learn I would start with Python
Wow I don't know if you're really serious (isn't it weird how we always doubt good intentions on people?) but the thing that always helps me is pretty much reading books, The Bees is one I've been wanting to read for a while
I don't know if this is your case, but in my experience certain classes taught by certain professors have been made way more difficult than they should be due to how the said professor runs their show.
Try out http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ when you sign up next (if you haven't already signed up for next semester). Trust me, it helps a lot. Most professors will be in there and they will have overall reviews and comments so you generally know what to expect. My first college class of Spanish was horrible, the professor was waaaay too strict, we had a massive workload and it was an overall stressful class. Finally found a Spanish Prof at my campus that was more my style and bam, passing Spanish!
Again, don't know if that was exactly the problem. Anatomy and Physiology sound tough, but you just may be able to find a professor for next time around that will suit you better.
Having the awareness is a good first step. The rest relies on general learning principles, and basically takes some thinking. What makes you good at games? What have they taught you? How can you apply it to your life? Think about these questions when trying use your game knowledge. It's like how in old cartoons they ended the show by giving the moral of the story. It helps piece everything together. Also, check out sites like these that help people gamify their lives. https://www.superbetter.com/ https://habitrpg.com/static/front
I love Japan. Here's my advice:
Learn as much Japanese as you can, English isn't widely spoken outside of Tokyo. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I think educational video games rank pretty high up there actually. I think we're on the dawn of introducing more gameplay-like elements to the way we work and learn. Educational games, open source software, and things like this feel like just the beginning to me.
And on a smaller more personal level I am having a lot of fun with this reddit bot I've been working on. It just posts around pretending to be a normal user. It lasted a month before someone figured it out yesterday. :( so I'll either work on disguising it more or make a new account for it I guess.
Try this ugly program while your fingers nimble themselves up: Dasher.
Also, congratulations on the updated diagnosis: if the nerves grow back you have a hell of a story and severe respect for a lot of stuff I guess :)
Garden! It is Spring, and the perfect time to start. Use window sills or create cloches out doors using cheap things like pvc pipe. You don't need much space.
You can get cuttings for free. Seeds are cheap. (Or free! Try a seed bank.) Garden centres often have plant pots for free. Grow chillis, herbs. Go to local gardening events, explain your circumstances, and people will surely help.
Hopefully, you have a computer (or two!). Try installing GNU+Linux and become familiar with Libre / Free Operating Systems and software.
Check out /r/gardening and the related subs there.
You have time for cooking, so try it!
Learn how to use the buses - get a time table. They are a lot more usable when you already know where and when they will be.
Join the military! :) The US Army permits you to specify where you want to be, iirc.
Take an interest in your local wildlife. What have you got outside, large and small?
Read! Dream and plan what you will do one day when you do have the funds.
Consider moving abroad somewhere cheap and warm, like Mexico, till something happens.
Play computer games! :)
I play whatever interests me, which usually ends up being old console games and small, independent PC games. I use Open Broadcaster Software to record (and stream to Twitch, when I do live streams.) When I need to do small, quick edits to a video, I use avidemux.
So naf55 just asked if I could spit a verse for reddit so i clicked reply. but then I had to edit it cuz again my high gettin habit makes me mistype sometimes . Just a pizza makin party rapper hold the fries. Ask me anything baby just hold the lies. but I prolly wrote a song about it on the fly a while back you can find it on my FB profile..........or here http://www.reverbnation.com/therealsmokeeb
Every once in a while, I go through lists of 'top movies of all time' and add ones I don't know on the list. To be honest, I don't go to the theaters too much, so instead it's netflix or dvds for me. Plus I've been wanting to see a ton of black and white movies and some full ones are even on youtube ;)
Favorite 80s movies I saw as a kid:
Favorite 80s movies I saw as an adult:
I wouldn't say it would attract me to someone, but I think most American accents wouldn't make a difference. Except the Texan yee-haw accent, I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole.
Being described as "cool" would be quite cool, I think. Except that all the people who describe themselves as cool are anything but cool. Therefore "cool" is out of the game. I did a small research for any interesting (synonyms of cool)[http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/cool], that would have the same meaning, without making sound me pompous. I am not really sure whether I should choose "frosty" or "refrigerated". The latter sounds quite OK. None have any objections against fridges. Every home has one. They always are cool and have beer with them. What else could you wish?
That isn't his phone to give away. I would peruse this article
https://www.lookout.com/resources/know-your-mobile/what-to-do-if-your-phone-is-stolen
and make sure you write down the IMEI before filing police reports.
Suggestion:
Add a text-to-speech feature which will turn text stories into audio like an audiobook.
Provide a button which links to a site like PornHub, but replace the audio on the video with the text-to-speech file.
Porn sites are searchable, so people can find a video related to the story they like pretty easily. Make it simple to use, just a couple of buttons, so people can do it on their phones. Bespoke porn for the masses.
It's a script that searches for music on Usenet and selected torrent sites. Check it out: https://github.com/rembo10/headphones - the author is a redditor.
It builds a database of artists and albums from the Musicbrainz project, so you get an idea of what you have and what you're missing. You check a box next to the album you want, and boom, it goes and tries to find it for you.
Sure, it's pretty basic...
I built it on CodeIgniter to save time, it really only has 2 controllers/models which are "videos" and "upload".
I grabbed a template off of themeforest for $12
Used http://videojs.com/ for the video player
Running on AWS elastic beanstalk for auto scaling etc of the servers, although all queries are memcached so server hits are minimal right now (AWS actually seem to be cool with porn, which surprised me, as long as it's legal - so the only issue I should have it copyrighted material. But it seems the industry is waking up to this issue now and often letting it slide as long as you dont remove the logo and or you offer a linkback, which i'm more than happy to do)
All files are uploaded directly to an Amazon S3 bucket with reduced redundancy to keep costs down.
When a new server is fired up (either to replace an old one or when autoscaling due to traffic spikes) ffmpeg is downloaded and installed directly on the server.
All uploads have a screenshot generated on the fly by ffmpeg, screenshot is then also uploaded to S3.
Search right now uses a basic explode on search term string and for each checks the term against video name, description, tags etc
Each video uploaded uses the title as the slug with a timestamp prepended to prevent duplicate URLs
I was using CloudFlare for SSL but realised they have a stupid 100mb upload limit, so now looking at alternative SSL options.
thats about it really....
Ok, so here's the skinny. I've never been on a cruise before so I did a bit of research and found that it's basically a floating bar, one which will add many hundreds of dollars over the course of a week if you like to imbibe. Myself, I don't drink that much so a few drinks here and there aren't going to break the bank, but we were travelling with some friends who do like to party but they're in tough financial straits right now (and wouldn't be buying drinks anyway) so I wanted to see if I could make their cruise a bit more merry on a budget.
Enter the Rum Runner™ knockoff, a sweet bit o' kit that works like a charm. They currently sell for $16.77 on Amazon Prime. I am NOT affiliated with this company or industry in ANY way, this was just the least expensive one I saw on Amazon. They worked fine, with zero leaks.
You get nine (9) heavy duty, reusable concealable flasks which collectively hold about two (2) 1.75 liters, one (1) fifth and a couple of pints of various alcohols. I brought one 1.75 liter of Bacardi rum, one 1.75 liter of Ketel One vodka, a fifth of Jose Cuervo tequila, a pint of Pendleton Canadian whiskey and a half pint of Captain Morgan spiced rum.
The trick is to fill them to about 85% capacity, squeeze out all the air before you cap them, place them in a gallon ziplock bag in case they leak (mine never leaked), hide them among your various toiletries in another gallon ziplock and then cushion them wrapped in a pair of jeans or a sweater. We spread them out among four suitcases and made sure that they only travelled in bags that we checked, not carry-ons. They only have so much time to x-ray all the bags before they drop them off in front of your cabin, and since the caps are the only thing that show up on the x-ray, it just looks like another random toiletry item.
They all arrived undetected, unmolested, with no leaks and a good time was had by all.
Man, that was my favorite game As a kid!
Which Age of empires are you playing? Whose your go to civilization? What website does the game play on now?
Damn this now makes me want to buy the game
A few things do it well!
Hydrosurge systems (its a hose that dilutes your shampoo, and sprays it directly on the dog alongside water) seem to get shampoo into the coat better than you can by hand, which helps with how long it lasts.
The older trick is to wash the dog in a shampoo that smells good, and spray a perfume on the dog before you blow/towel dry it, makes the stuff last 10 times longer without being initially overpowering.
If you're just looking for a good product recommendation though, I'm a huge fan of Ikaria brand shampoos. I don't think I've ever seen it in a store, but Amazon carries it for cheap
Yes. Beautifully. They eat the dough mixture and become weirdly active for a few days afterward. Probably the boric acid poisoning making them act crazy. Then they crawl back to their spaces and die.
The Cimexa is a brand name for silica (the same stuff in those packets that keep moisture out of beef jerky, shoe boxes, laptop boxes, etc) ground into a powder so fine that it becomes static charged and sticks to bugs when they walk over it. It sucks the juices out of them and leaves a dried out husk. It also gets on their egg sacks and dries them out too. Takes two days once it gets on them. This is meant for long-term because the dough will dry out after a few weeks max (depends on how oily you make it) but the cimexa is supposed to last for years and doesn't need to be eaten.
Much better than the classic diatomaceous earth which is ground shells that dig into their exoskeleton and kill them over them a much longer time.
https://www.amazon.com/CimeXa-Insecticide-ounces-bottle-Rockwell/dp/B0085HRWI8
I bought four of these to last a lifetime because I'm paranoid that the extermination industry is going to start lobbying to have it banned. They'll tell you that it's a respiratory hazard. Jury is still out on that but all I know is that an invisible dusting of it along my floorboards also got rid of a bed bug infestation in a different apartment so idgaf.
Edit: borax to boric acid
Another interesting question.
People often say the catalyst of women's liberation was them gaining the vote, because after that point they held a statistical majority and could also bank on the support of paternalistic males (AKA 'white knights').
Personally I suspect it might have been before that. Perhaps (this is not necessarily my own belief, but it's a POV) women have actually always held the most power. That is the masculist view. See https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anatomy-female-power-masculinist-dissection/dp/9782651052 for instance.
But I guess more generally, women's social ascendance dates back to the early 20th c. And I don't think that was restricted to the west because there were women's movements all over the world at that time.
Just guessing a bit there though TBH.
No, the censorship is really light. I can watch porn, go on every site I want pretty much except Facebook and Twitter. There are a few other sites which are blocked but it's rare to encounter them. Sometimes google gets blocked temporarily when searching dodgy things but that's about it.
Also I use Astrill, a proxy. So I don't have many of the censorship problems. And my internet connection is actually 20mb/s.
Do you have a support group that helps you through this and is there for you when your feeling down?
And remember life is always an ongoing battle. The biggest change you can make is cultivating new habits that replace the old and 'bad' ones.
A book I would recommend is "The Power of Habit". Read it if you want if not no worries! Making a habit is the easiest and most efficient way to change over time with little effort.
Panzerkampf, Primo Victoria, Wolfpack, The Art of War, and The Price of a Mile. The Price of a Mile was actually the first song of theirs I heard, and it still has a special place in my heart.
Edit 1: How did I forget Ghost Division?
Do you know anyone on the inside or have friends who know anyone where you are going?
Don't kill yourself. What you are facing will probably be the most difficult experience you will ever face in your life. This will not kill you but will certainly change you. 40 is not the end. It is the era when most of us shed the last remnants of our boyhood and settle into manhood. I am 41 and have just started to put my life in order. You will still be you, but a more experienced you.
Seriously consider working in the trades as a plan when you get out. If there are training programs take everything possible. Dive headlong into it, make it your new obsession. I'd suggest electrical or plumbing if you like autonomy. You can easily clear 6 figures when you get out (on the east coast), if you bust your ass. This means your own home, a car and vacations. Life doesn't have to end now.
Read the Stoics. Many of those philosophers have endured hardships we can't imagine (slavery, imprisonment, ancient warfare) in this day. Also get yourself a copy of "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl, he wrote it about his time as a prisoner in a Nazi Death Camp and how he kept his shit together, it's a quick inspiring read.
The free online courses out there for economics are really quite good. Khan Academy (I think this is more basic), Marginal Revolution University... are the ones that come to mind first.
If you prefer to read rather than watch, there are a lot of "pop" economics books out there which introduce the way of thinking. Many of these have an unavoidable partisan slant to them, though. "The Armchair Economist" by Landsburg is probably the best of the bunch as microeconomics goes.
