According to the Terms of Service (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies) this HIT is a violation. You can definitely mark it, but it will likely stay up anyways. Amazon doesn't seem to do much when it comes to HITs like that.
Nope.
What are some specific examples of HITs that violate Amazon Mechanical Turk policies?
- HITs that violate the terms and conditions of an activity or website (for instance asking Workers to vote for something)
- HITs that ask Workers to take action to manipulate a website's behavior or results
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies
It looks like this is the one? https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=37T7WAXICGGP9QB9RM51MQR489QY23
First, you have the Masters qualification on it which is going to greatly reduce the number of workers who are eligible to accept it. It's Saturday morning and MTurk is notoriously slow on weekends and holidays. It's much more active during normal business hours.
Also, I opened it and the first thing I see is a writing task. Personally, I'd have to be paid more than $0.20 for writing work (especially if it's then followed by more questions which I didn't see because I closed the tab as soon as I saw the writing part).
You need to right-click on the survey links inside HITs and choose 'open in new tab'. It sounds like you've been accidentally taking the survey inside the HIT iframes, which then hides the form you're supposed to use to submit them.
Learn how to contact requesters. Clicking on 'show all details' (when viewing the search results page where you found the HIT) and then clicking on 'Contact the Requester of this HIT' is what you need.
Get in the habit of opening the HITs in new tabs too. That way you still have the search results page open if you need the contact link. You don't have to return a HIT just to look at something else. And you can reopen a HIT you haven't returned by going to your queue: HITs Assigned To You.
Contacting MTurk support about stuff like this will accomplish nothing. I expect that some time in the next few days you will receive a completely unhelpful reply from them, probably saying you need to contact the requester.
These HITs were made by turker ZinGy of MTG as experiments to test the limits (or lack thereof) of the requester interface, and to make it easier to see some of the lesser-known qual values. One of his HITs is used to make this script work: https://greasyfork.org/scripts/3095-mmmturkeybacon-add-hidden-stats-to-dashboard
Just to add to what the others have said: Asking for personal information is against the terms of service, see this page:
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies
(I refer to it often enough to have it bookmarked.)
If you ever get another hit like this DON'T give out any personal information and DO return the hit - after reporting it as a TOS violation (there's a link at the bottom of the hit page). And then leave a TO review about it, including a flag there too.
Are these your HITs?
If so, a worker has just under 25 seconds to accept and load the HIT, click on the linkedin URL to find the person's name that you're looking for, then go to a different site and hope that they can find an email address for said person, then they have to visit yet another site, copy and paste four fields of data to verify it, then paste all of the data in to the HIT, submit it and wait up to 24 hours for you to 'review for accuracy!' to see if they'll actually be paid the nickel for their work; just to earn US minimum wage.
> maybe Im not paying enough
You're not.
Gonna quote myself because whatevs
If you don't have a PANDA set up in Turkmaster, try this: Copy this link https://www.mturk.com/mturk/previewandaccept?groupId=3D00S7P7YGMS0X50UPV7TFTQ47DZEI&autoAcceptEnabled=true into a new bookmark Click it and keep clicking it, making sure you fill in any CAPTCHAs that come up, until you can't accept any more (25 I believe is the max.) Then go into your assigned HITs and do them. Should take around 2-3 minutes for each set of 25.
just email them, a similar thing happened last week with a bunch of people getting reject from one 'Survey research'. They did eventually reverse the block. Please do send the requester a message, i did. Here is the link to do so.
There are many requesters that put out lower paying batches that merely require one or two clicks per hit. Script those clicks to one button press and you can finish them in 1-2 seconds each. Some good starter batch requesters are Venue Quality, Ben Mones, and MyLikes. You'll have to run a panda on them because they trickle in throughout the day. Stay away from p9r and Jon Brelig, that's lowly peasant shit.
There is also a HUGE batch of A9's up right now: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=3IR329NZ8Z25GMUY14XW4ZWN42A2KA
Combined with this script: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/11700-mturk-a9-category-validation-windows
EZ numbers.
Your entire argument is predicated on the assumption that mturk-tracker is reliable and accurate. It's not.
Take a look at the HITs GeoHIVE Administrator has up right now, specifically the validation batch. It's close to 4000. Now look at the stats from mturk-tracker. It reports only 197.
The TO mirror server used by Turkmaster and all other userscripts that use TO data (except the official TO script) has been down since about 3-4am PT this morning. Your ratings will return when the volunteer-run server is back up. This happens occasionally. It's a weekend, and a holiday weekend, so be patient. You can still check ratings on the http://turkopticon.ucsd.edu/ site yourself.
We need to make a sticky or something for this subreddit that tells people not to do the MELI hits. I know I got screwed a few weeks ago by them.
As for raising your approval percentage, did you do the current OCMP qual hits? They let you do 20 hits but they all approve, regardless of accuracy.

Good for you for finding something that works for you! You should check out flux - my husband and I both do a lot of computer related work and flux is a lifesaver.
ETA: It's free for personal use! But once our income evens out a bit we're going to donate to the creator because it's been really helpful for us. Link :)
I grind these out, although the new formatting and required writing portions are a drag. Better than nothing I suppose.
Once you complete a hit he can just ask and Amazon will hand him your full name, address and SSN.
" we may disclose to Requesters your name, address, data on HITs you have completed, and Provider Tax Information. Those quals are rare because you're not able to apply them through web interface as a requester, but they are available when using the command line. Unexpand this hit detail and it it will show you the quals that are hidden along with your scores

Look out for jimmy dragon's transcribe business cards HITs. For some reason he has ones for .02 and .03 each. If the main goal is numbers though, either one works.
411richmond has transcribing receipts HITs; those are ok for numbers, but sometimes the receipts can be pretty long.
Also, the the crowdsource HITs where you have to search google and find the page rankings can go pretty fast using JR's Crowdsource Script.
I think these are the HITs in question, requester David Chai: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?selectedSearchType=hitgroups&requesterId=A1WTEUVJPCM8ZB
They're a TOS violation and also underpaid IMO.
Access to more HITs will come with each major milestone of approved HITs you reach (1000, 5000, etc.). Aside from that, this page provides some good advice about acquiring quals (scroll 1/3 of the way down the page). A definite must have is the adult content qual: >if you are okay with adult content, then you can and should obtain the site-wide Adult Content Qualification right now by going here and requesting the qualification from the third listing from the top (the one with over 200,000 qualified users). The standard qual value is 1.
A combination of lots of experience, qualifications that are closed, various scripts, support from forums (especially the daily thread), motivation, and determination!
Once you've done thousands and thousands of HITs, you see that a lot of them are really similar. Over time, it becomes much easier to go through HITs faster because you've seen similar HITs so many times before.
Actually it's perfectly legal as you are not in any way shape or form hired to do a job. There is not anywhere on their site where they hire you to do a job and there is not legal contract for which they state you are working for hire.
Also you are not paid by Amazon Mechanical Turk, you are paid by those creating the surveys for completing their tasks so they are the ones who set the minimum. MTurk just provides a platform in which you can connect to these individuals.
To be honest you sound like someone who got ripped off by a couple of bad requestors and are now trying to take it out on MTurk. I suggest you take some time to read some of the FAQ here and take a look at /r/HITsWorthTurkingFor to make sure you do not waste your time.
Also just to point out you are asking people who use this site to make some side money and in some cases a lively hood to shut it down. Now don't you think we kind of like that its up?
Edit: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/conditionsofuse <- in case you dispute that your hired please feel free to check the terms and conditions of use and please point out the part where you are hired.
I mean...you basically downloaded spyware set up by a marketing company.

It might pay out, but there are a lot of these on MTurk and most usually don't pay out from what I've read.
However, I have no personal experience with these because there isn't enough money to pay me to install something like this.
edit: formatting
I have came across these HITs. I also came across something in another forum:
Dear Turker,
We are conducting a study on how Turkers communicate about HITs. If you would like to participate please read the information below and follow the URL at the bottom of this message to begin working on these HITs.
We have launched a group of HITs called "Rating Movie Posters". These HITs will be available for 72hrs or until our study completes, whichever is sooner (we will inform you by email if the study completes prior to 72hrs). Each HIT in this group involves answering a quick question about a movie poster and pays $0.15. Each HIT will take no more than 20 seconds to complete.
We have automatically granted you the ability to complete up to 50 of these HITs. Completing all 50 HITs will result in guaranteed pay of $7.50 and should take no longer than 10 minutes.
You can access these HITs at the following URL: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=37WX97CR5VRBPVWQL7RAXJZT9KBIKM
Thanks!
Sid
People should just stop looking for the codes at this point, even if they get one, probably won't get many to do.
I also came across someone posting an expired access code (Iba1Z). If you put that into the HIT, it says there are currently 3 codes available.
> I believe mturk is US-only now.
Looks like OP is in Ecuador based on other Reddit posts? If that's accurate, then MTurk wouldn't be an option, even if OP is a US citizen.
"Unfortunately, US citizens living outside the United States are not allowed to work on Mechanical Turk." https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=worker#intl_tax_us_citizen_live_abroad
> Is it the email part or the needing to make a new account that violates the ToS?
Both.
"You may not use Amazon Mechanical Turk for illegal or objectionable activities. Here are some examples of prohibited activities: collecting personal identifiable information"
"What are some specific examples of HITs that violate Amazon Mechanical Turk policies? HITs requiring disclosure of the Worker's identity or e-mail address, either directly or indirectly; HITs requiring registration at another website or group"
Here is a hit that just came up:
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=349I5E7LWDSLANILBS46DG4OZCU9J1
Requester: SRI International - Janus
HITs Available: 13805
With that many hits available in this group, you can do something like this to help get your numbers up.
500 approved hits is a good goal from where you are, to open up more hits to you.
I completely agree. The exact wording from MTurk's Terms of Service:
"You may not permit any other person to perform Services as Provider using your Amazon Account." https://www.mturk.com/mturk/conditionsofuse
The 411Richmond 'Verify a Single Value' hits.
They pay quick, they have a 30 minute timer, and they show up all day long.
EDIT:
Here is the link that will accept that hit. You should bookmark it and refresh it frequently. You can get several hundred hits a day easily and over 1000 a day if you are turking all day long:
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/previewandaccept?groupId=389X50RO3UCP2CYKCYM14K9RJJI439
You’d never get a W2 from Amazon/MTurk since MTurk is considered self-employment. If you were to receive anything, it would be a 1099-K from Amazon Payments, but you only get one if you made at least 200 transactions totaling $20,000 or more. Source
The HIT ID numbers in bonus emails are basically useless from our side. Search for the requester's name on the TO website, to get their requester ID number. Then plug it into this link to be able to contact them (replace 'REQUESTERIDHERE' with the ID): https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?subject=Regarding+Amazon+Mechanical+Turk+HIT&requesterId=REQUESTERIDHERE
Do lots and lots of oscar smith HITs. Pay rate isn't great, but there's no minimum approval rate and he approves very quickly.
Crowdsource also approves very fast and their tasks tend to be simple, if a bit tedious.
The problem with spoonfed resources like HWTF and Turker forums (and HIT Notifier, since all it does is scrape all of the above) is that there are far, far more Turkers who don't know what they're doing without being provided a list of good HITs. What immediately happens then is that the HIT is gobbled up by the masses and it's gone. My success rate for panda-ing anything posted in HWTF et al. is like 15%, even when only minutes after posting.
You're far better off having a Turkopticon script of some variety (I prefer color coded search after I've made a number of tweaks to it) and bum around the All HITs page sorted by newest creation date. I've doubled my income finding my own work because it's basically safe from the ignorant masses. I've actually experimented with this and not told anyone about a good survey I've found, then watched it immediately disappear off the All HITs page once MTC linked it.
it becomes part of your 'abandoned' percentage. a rarely used qual.
you can see it here: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?selectedSearchType=hitgroups&requesterId=A71D8H1ZH0FNW
or get this script and it shows on your dashboard: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/3095-mmmturkeybacon-add-hidden-stats-to-dashboard
expect nice bumps of available HIT's at 1k and 5k - but it all depends on what you put into it. its not magic or anything
edit: not sure if the qual is a test (its been a while since I got it) but https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=3IR329NZ8Z25GMUY14XW4ZWN42A2KA + https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/11701-a9-validation is GREAT for numbers
Looks like he has a couple more up, but they're masters only :/
EDIT: He posted a non-master's HIT, maybe he saw this comment.
> However, if you send a message to a requester, they will receive your email address (the one you used to register at Amazon) and whatever name that is attached to your email account.
To clarify, it's sent with the name you used for your MTurk account (as seen in the 'change your name' link here), not the name you used for your email account (Amazon doesn't have access to that), until the requester replies to you and you reply back to them (then they've seen both).
> I try to browse the qualifications but the only way to sort is A-Z or Z-A...and the majority of them have 0 people that are qualified, leading me to believe they are just BS quals or something.
Yes. Most of the qualifications listed under the Qualifications tab are for tests, outdated, no longer used, were never used, etc. Try what I described in my comment here to find qualifications that are actually currently being used.
> I'm feeling stuck in a rut lately with requesters posting batches of time consuming HITs for $.02 or $.03 a piece
Do you use HIT Scraper? That can help you find batches.
> Maybe I'm just in that range of HITs that it's kind of hit or miss till I get upwards of 1000?
Could be this, for sure. More HITs definitely open up at 1,000 and 5,000.
> Did this change recently?
Yep, it looks like it.
I checked Wayback Machine and it captured that page on March 17, 2015. At that time, it says: "HITs that require Workers to download software".
The "contains malware, spyware, viruses, or other harmful code." bit was added sometime after that.
http://web.archive.org/web/20150317044835/https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies
To use the 'hit scraper', just do like /u/clickhappier said and install those browser extensions.
In chrome, it looks like you click on the box in the top right corner to install 'tampermonkey'. I am not sure what the button says, as I have it installed already and now it says 'added to chrome'.
In firefox, you click on the green '+add to firefox' button in the center of the greasemonkey page.
Then go here https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/by-site/mturk.com and download the scripts you want to use. They download instantly, which can be a little confusing. Just download what you want and go on, it's fine.
Some of the scripts actually alter the amazon mturk page to show different information like how much you are making an hour, how much money you have coming to you from unpaid hits, and other neat stuff.
Then go here https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits?match=true?hit_scraper and bookmark it. This is the actual 'hit scraper'.
To use it, you go to the mturk page, go to 'hits available to you', go to the last page, and note that number. 78, for example.
Then go to the 'hit scraper' page and enter that number into the box labeled 'pages to scrape'. This ensures that the scraper will comb through every page in the 'hits available to you'.
Now, in the box labeled 'minimum reward', put the least amount of money you will take to do a hit. 10 cents for example. Write it as .1 .
The 'sort types' button will cause the hits to be listed in different orders, least to most, or by date, etc.
Then hit the 'start' button and wait for the hits to be scraped. It makes a wierd and lovely sound, like an angel ringing a small bell. The sound of freshly scraped hits. The sound of money.

They've been posting a .10 qual HIT for a few days now. Each session after takes 30s and you get a .10 bonus each. $4 bonus for doing all 50. You do have to wait 30 min between sessions.
Bonuses pay out once an hour. If you get 2 done in time, it's a .20, if you only did one that hour it's .10
It was pretty fun to be honest. Just kept the link bookmarked and would do it while database was updating or between other HITs. Definitely not the worst longer commitment HIT I've done.

> But I don't know how to accept a hit or send out a hit or whatever it is that you guys do
I assume you mean you're a worker (doing a HIT) and not a requester (posting a HIT).
But it sounds to me like you might need to read up on some of the basics before getting started. There's the FAQ section of this subreddit in the sidebar. There are also links to many forums and communities that can help you get started.
To work, you just need to go to the list of HITs (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits), click on "View a HIT in this group", read the instructions and if it's something you want to do, click "Accept HIT" at the top of the page.
MTurk TOS says requesters cannot ask for "personal identifiable information". It doesn't detail whether this means location, photo, etc. Source: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies
I've been in contact with this requester about his HIT and the TOS. He says in the instructions that you may use a fake name if you want. He also told me that he plans to change the instructions next time he posts to clarify his intent and make sure the HIT conforms to the TOS.
Edited to add: It looks like his HIT has been reposted with more detailed instructions. It now says: "The information you provide will be displayed on a website and in a gallery and maybe one day a book. Feel free to give a fake name if you feel more comfortable. By submitting this form you accept that's it ok for me to show the information you submit here on the website, gallery, book and social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook). If you have any questions, get in touch. The project is inspired by http://www.humansofnewyork.com/ — I'm hoping people will respond in a similar way."
Cheapest way (free) is a simple account. Theres no cost and amazon verified mine in a few days. https://www.simple.com I have real bank accounts too, but I deposit a chunk of my mturk earnings to my simple card as my mad money fund. Good way to keep a budget.
HIT Scraper doesn't use a separate server. It works directly with mturk. Make sure you have the script enabled. Here's the latest download if you need it
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/2002-hit-scraper-with-export
This is also why you don't do more for any one requester than would put you under 98%
You should install the worst case scenario script (https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/962-mturk-worst-case-scenario-calculator if this isn't right someone will correct me.)
I mean if you don't quit. You can work that back up it's just gonna be hard
Yeah, do my trick.
Keep a less popular quick-to-do penny HIT and use those when you get the Captcha, then do that hit (usually takes like 5 seconds) and go back to your regular batch afterward :)
I use proboard's HITs for that. They are not that popular and takes a few seconds to do for a penny.
There's the proboard's HIT if you need it to clear up the CAPTCHA without wanting to murder someone afterward.
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=33D52F3J445QIHSK0SBFF922F8OVW0
No. You need a social security number to ever get paid and anything that involves you getting around it will just get shutdown when Amazon determines you don't have a valid ssn.
I got denied this morning. WTF?
Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk,
We have completed our review of your Amazon Mechanical Turk Worker Account. We regret to inform you that you will not be permitted to work on Mechanical Turk. Thank you for your interest in Mechanical Turk.
Sincerely, Amazon Mechanical Turk https://www.mturk.com 410 Terry Avenue North SEATTLE, WA 98109-5210 USA
> They usually get attached to the outside of ATMs/card readers so I am now on the lookout for them.
We get them here on the inside now frequently. Have to check the little red tape thing they put on the machines, God bless the ingenuity of jerks lol.
I'm no expert in this field for sure, but have you checked the haveibeenpwned website? Idk if there's something more recommended nowadays but might be somewhere to start looking to see if your info is already out there online.
Copytext, once you get on their approved list, can be lucrative. There are other requesters that offer work but their rates are not all that competitive (e.g., ScoutIt, 411Richmond).
It's been slow going for even US workers - it's the weekend and we're still not fully back in the academic survey swing. And there's a holiday on the horizon. Plus, it's still the season of summer where Mechanical Turk is located (Seattle, WA). Interpret that as you see fit.
Barbara Chen is just another of the many accounts used by spammers/scammers; I actually blocked it just yesterday and my review is the first one on TO.
I saw the same hit today from a "different" requester, "Jennifer Mendoza." I've got all those in quotes because they're probably fake, and considering today's hit used the same link as yesterday's it's probably the same person; these accounts don't tend to last long, I suspect because either the person is moving around a lot or Amazon catches on fast and closes the account.
Incidentally - with these two hits at least you can check out the link before accepting the hit. I did that and it redirected to an "educational opportunity" signup page, for both of these hits. That was enough for me to report it to Amazon and on TO. I never accepted it so I don't know what would have happened if I had but it was such a clear violation of the terms of service that I didn't need to go any further.
Incidentally, this page has more info on TOS violations:
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies
Please keep those in mind, and report anything that violates them.
OK, this is actually a trickier question than it first appears. Simply because a hit has multiple hits available does not make it a batch hit. A while ago, Amazon raised their fees in such a way that some Requesters discovered that they got lower fees by offering what appeared to Turkers to be batch hits. However, these will usually say, up front: "Only do one of these!" but not always. Often these appear as a 'batch' of 100 or less, unlike the real batch hits, which may appear in the thousands, like this one
If you accept a hit and it appears to be 'the same question over', you may have to make a judgment call on your own as to whether this is a "real" batch hit -- or one of the new-fangled 'avoid Amazon fees' fake batch hits.
I highly suggest you move away from Jon Brelig HITs. 411Richmond's receipt transcription isn't a huge improvement in pay or are they as prevalent, but they're a much better requester. They are super FAIR. I still do them from time to time, especially Verify a single value from a receipt.
Was it the 'Categorization Task, Decision Making, Marketing, Psychology' hit? If so, their requester ID is A1Y3YPBO6MEM4X. (source https://redd.it/3lv79a)
You can use the standard method to contact them.
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?requesterId=A1Y3YPBO6MEM4X
AFAIK, you have to have a verified Amazon Payments account to use mTurk, even if you do not withdraw your funds. To have a verified AP account, you have to give your SSN.
Edit: Looked in the FAQ (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=worker#how_to_register_worker), and it says "You may provide either a social security number (SSN) or an individual tax identification number (ITIN). If you are a US-based Worker and you do not have one of these tax identifiers, you will not be able to continue to work on Mechanical Turk.".
Despite that, some people have said they haven't had to give their SSN. And the FAQ is outdated.
If you have done a HIT for that requester within the last 45 days, you can navigate to the HIT in your status page, click on it, and message the requester.
If the requester has HITs up that you qualify for, you can click on the title of the HIT and a Contact Requester link will appear.
If neither of those apply, you need to find the requester ID. The requester ID can be found in the URL if you click on their name on MTurk, or you can find it on Turkopticon or one of the forum's daily HIT threads where the HIT has been posted.
Once you have the requester ID, plug it into the end of this URL:
Plug that URL into your address bar, add the requester ID, and press enter. Then you can enter your message and press submit.
Don't go to the qualifications tab. A ton of those are outdated or private qualifications anyway.
Instead, go to the main HITs page and click on "All HITs" in the blue bar at the top. Make sure the box to the right that says "for which you are qualified" is unchecked. Browse the HITs that you can see. All of the HITs that are gray are ones you don't qualify for. Click on the title of the HIT to expand it and compare the qualifications required with what your value is to see why you don't qualify.
Sometimes there will be a link there to take a test. Do that and see if you can pass the test to get the qual. Sometimes it'll be a link that says to click to request it. The request ones are kind of a mixed bag. Sometimes it'll be granted automatically if you just click it, and other times, it'll have to either be reviewed by the requester (or the requester just won't review it at all and you'll never receive it). To find out more about which qualifications get granted and which one are hopeless, you can ask in IRC or in one of the forums (links in the sidebar).
But using that method will show you the qualifications you should/could be focused on rather than looking at the qualifications tab that lists thousands.
> I guess I am missing something in regards to how the 'HIT scraper' script works. It often gives the same results time after time, lists of hits that I have already done. The new HITs come up in bold letters, and from time to time when there are no new ones, I look through the lists of 'non-bold' HITs and I always find ones I haven't done before.
HIT Scraper is just indicating which HITs were most recently found when it ran that it didn't see minutes/seconds ago on previous runs, based on your highlight time settings. It has nothing to do with what you have or haven't done before. You have to use https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/864-mturk-hit-database for that if it works with your browser (then HIT Scraper will use HitDB's records to indicate if you've done a HIT with that title from that requester before), and/or keep your own records in spreadsheets with help from https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/3109-mmmturkeybacon-export-mturk-history/ , and various other methods.
These are userscripts. You first need to install the Tampermonkey (TM) extension in Chrome, or the Greasemonkey (GM) extension in Firefox, and then install userscripts into TM/GM.

411richmond has these hits for verifying single values for receipts that go very quickly but take about 10 seconds a piece to do. They are the best thing by far for bumping numbers on mturk from what I've seen. You can easily knock out 500-1000 if you spend all day at it. The way to pick them up is to get an auto refresh plugin on the preview and accept link for it and then let it load up your queue. So while you're doing them it'll keep adding more and more of them as they come up and they have 30 minute timers so you can easily do a full queue of them and then re-queue. 411Richmond doesn't really reject and they approve within 24 hours. Here's the link you'll want to autorefresh for the hit.
There are several factors here, asking for a person to log into anything violates the terms of service of Amazon, so you are likely having some challenges there. I also get the impression you are paying form comments, many workers prefer to not do that. You may want to reconsider the pay you are asking. Just as a reference here is a hit that is similar https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=3M35MA94IX9DQDZL1WD3YYH9FJHON6 and this requester has a hard time getting his comment hits completed. I have seen 10,000 hits get completed in less than 1/2 hour when the requester, pay and work are all good. Hope this helps and good luck with your hits.
Bunny inc was good for me, but now they seem to have petered out, I'd honestly try to get the single verifies from 411richmond.
These from turk experiment are easy and you can batch them for 15 cents a pop.
Also if you have an android phone the a9 picture thing is easy money, https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?selectedSearchType=hitgroups&searchWords=a9&minReward=0.00&x=18&y=3
Well, first you go to this site. That should give you your hit scraper interface.
The real power in scraper is in the blocking/threshold functions. You can block requesters you don't want to see (like SpeechInk, for example), and that will scrape more pages. You can set it to auto-refresh, and that will show you hits basically as they post. You can set up different thresholds to look for hits at different levels (I tend to use $1, $0.50, $0.20). You can search for batches too.
If you use an include list, you can keep a scraper running that mimics PM's functionality, letting you know as soon as a requester you like posts.
Yes, you could do everything via the search interface, but it takes time to look through 3-5 pages of searching, trying to sift through requesters you dont' care about...Hit Scraper does that for you, and condenses it down into an easy-to-read one page format, with TO ratings, quals, hitDB tie-in, description, autoaccept link, and exports!
Install Greasemonkey or an equivalent add-on.
Install Hit Scraper. This automatically adds it into Greasemonkey. If Greasemonkey is activated in your browser, you will see a little monkey icon in a toolbar area. Click on it to see your scripts, where you an check them on or off.
Go here: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits?match=true?hit_scraper
Hit Scraper is basically a search engine for HITs.
I know this isn't answering your specific question, but if you sign up for Bing Rewards, and do the minimum searches on desktop and mobile every day, you'd make enough credit to get a gold live code every month.
I just do the links in the dashboard every day (1-2 points) then open Bing.com and ctrl-click all the links in the bottom carousel until I hit my 15 points, then do a bunch of random separate searches on my phone til I hit my 10 points.
I get enough points that I'm able to get 2 months of Hulu plus every month, so you should be able to easily get xbox live for free this way every month.
Again, sorry for not helping with your question,I just wanted to let you know there's other ways to get xbox live for next month :)

You need to use something else. Period.
You might be able to fix some userscripts by running them through Babel with aggressive settings, but that's only if they're broken for you simply because they're using new language features (Promises, destructuring, arrow functions, let/const, etc.). If they're instead broken because they're using newer browser features than your outdated browsers support, they will remain broken.
The last Chrome that was available for XP was 49, and the last Firefox available was 45. The current version of Chrome is 67, and the current version of Firefox is 62. Per its manifest, the current version of MTS requires Chrome 61, at least.
Any fixes you might receive would be hit-or-miss and would have to be on a per-tool basis.
Your best bet on overall web compatibility in XP is something along the lines of the unstable branch of Pale Moon.
As far as I know, there is no script that does that. Every survey is set up differently so there is no way to automatically fill in that information. Were you thinking of a script that saves your worker ID? I don't use it but this one seems like it would do it.
> Is there a script for blocking requesters
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/7857-ch-block-using-hit-scraper-s-blocklist
> or hiding requesters below a certain TO value?
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/3118-mmmturkeybacon-color-coded-search-with-checkpoints
Not a huge amount. Not many requesters (if any) even look at your abandonment percentage, and they're not shown on the dashboard anymore.
If you're curious what your percentages are, install this script. It adds your hidden stats (hits accepted, submitted, returned, abandoned) to your dashboard like they were a year or so ago.
Hey, I'm the guy who maintains Hit Scraper WITH EXPORT!
Thanks for including the console stuff, that's definitely helpful. Could you do me a favor and make sure you're up to date with the most current version? You'll need to go into greasemonkey and delete all copies of it, then install the proper version from here: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/2002-hit-scraper-with-export
I have others using firefox with no issues, what version of firefox are you running? Is it actually firefox, or is it one of their spinoffs? I can't test it until I get home this evening, but hopefully we can get you straightened out!
When you return a HIT that was the only one in its group, you can't re-accept it, even if it's still there for other people. All you can do is contact the requester and ask them to set up a compensation HIT for you... and use https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/6206-mturk-confirm-return-hit-with-queue-support so you don't do that again. ;-)
I would recommend checking out some of these https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts?set=367&sort=name. I recently started and these are game changers, I did it for a few days without and these doubled and tripled my productivity. Turkmaster is exactly what you're looking for, it allows you to have a real time update of a certain requester's work in an on screen feed.
Edit: Punctuation
I did this the other day with a $10 hit. The only thing you can do is message the requester and hope they respond. Unfortunately, mine did not.
There is also a script out there that helps with that. Confirm Return Script
1.) Install this script:
https://greasyfork.org/scripts/2002-hit-scraper-with-export
2.) Bookmark this URL:
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits?match=true?hit_scraper
Auto-refresh delay: how many seconds you want between scrapes Pages to scrape: how many pages do you want the script to scrape - and the more you search, the more work you'll find.
Minimum batch size: the smallest amount of HITs you want to see, the minimum is 1.
Minimum reward: enter only a number and, since is refers to currency, make sure there are two digits after the decimal point.
The others are sort features so you can sort the results as you like. I've never toyed with the "New HIT highlighting" because I don't care about that. You can hover over most of it to see descriptions, including how to block requesters that you don't want to see. This is what I do - Crowd Source always has work, so I don't want it to clog my view.
To scrape, just click Start.
If you have any other questions, just say so.
You can do it in either. I actually prefer Firefox. Get an extension called Auto Refresh:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auto-refresh/
Now you just need the "previewandaccept" version of the link for those hits. Auto refresh that page.
Here's that link (at least it was last I used it):
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/previewandaccept?groupId=389X50RO3UCP2CYKCYM14K9RJJI439
1000 is usually a pretty significant point. 500 will open a few, 1000 opens quite a bit, and 5000 opens a little more at the top.
Weekends are slower, but it's certainly still possible to make more than a few cents!
I checked /r/HITsWorthTurkingFor a few minutes ago and did $2.50 in <20 minutes. That's usually a decent source of survey HITs.
Here's a $1.00 survey I just did that I found there to get you going. 98% approval minimum.
The info is official. As of late 2012, Mturk is only accepting American residents/citizens LIVING in the US,
(...I'm a US citizen living outside the US and I can't complete this form. Unfortunately, US citizens living outside the United States are not allowed to work on Mechanical Turk.)
a valid social security number, and a valid US address. Also needed is a valid US bank account if you want to cash out instead of gift cards.
See Mturk FAQ
You could try CrowdSurf HITs. These are 15-35 seconds of audio to transcribe.
No. Not only is it a a violation of mturk's terms of services, but 99% of the time who knows what you are downloading. All it takes is one shady requester to get you to download something that could do anything from install a virus to add a keylogger to your computer and then boom identity theft
Finding good surveys:
Search for "survey", "research", "psychology", ect.
Try to find some thing that pays at least $0.10 per minute. Surveys usually give an estimated time, which tends to be slightly higher than the actual time.
/r/HITsWorthTurkingFor is probably your best bet
Finding good writing HITs:
Search for "Write" or "Article" in the search bar
Pick HITs that pay the most per word anything > 0.75 cents per word is decent
Make sure to use TurkOpticon to verify the legitimacy of the requester
Houdini, Inc. often has decent HITs summarizing websites. They pay ~.7 cents per word, and are basically guaranteed to work, provided that you are minimally competent. They are a decent starting place.
Finding good transcription HITs:
Search "transcribe", "castingwords", "claritrans", "speachink", ect.
Compare amount of audio v. price payed
Miscellaneous:
Try searching for "sentiment". There are many quick and easy HITs, like this series of HITs on economic sentiments
Use TurkOpticon and other extensions
Those "quick and easy" HITS are the ones that are the most likely to get you rejected. I've completed ~480 HITs, and I have one reject. Stick to legitimate surveys, download TO, and frequent /r/hitsworthturkingfor.
It will be tedious, but stick with CrowdFlower till you get your approval back up. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?selectedSearchType=hitgroups&searchWords=crowdflower&minReward=0.00&x=0&y=0
Any of those will do. I don't think they ever reject a HIT, even if you do them totally wrong. Crowdsource may be the same, but don't quote me on that.
At least the scores being retrieved by all the scripts still works, but yeah, the ability to view the detailed reviews webpages is down for me too.
The TO-discuss topic: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/turkopticon-discuss/z0VXx7adX8o
To get hitscraper to work, you need to go this link(assuming you still have downloaded)
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits?match=true?hit_scraper
As for Batch hunting, I know Hitnotifer post them occasionally. Certain requesters have better batches then others
Premium Qualifications are qualifications Amazon has created based on the unpaid profile HITs, which they charge requesters exorbitant amounts to use.
Here is what the Mechanical Turk Participation Agreement says about the subject:
(i) you will not use robots, scripts or other automated methods to complete the Services;
Yep, looks like the idiotic programmers at Amazon just made another idiotic change to fuck with us... preview links now all have stupid shit added to them that they didn't have before.
instead of how it used to be, just
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=3CF7EZI55RM3LPNCWTDVNVCXHT8LID
The "rank=" number changes constantly depending on where on the page it appears, so relying on your browser history to change link colors is now useless.
And a possible workaround would've been to use the checkboxes feature of the 'mmmturkeybacon color-coded search with checkboxes' userscript, but it looks like that no longer works right after this dumbfuck change either (looks like it works at first, but your selections won't save properly and stay on the intended HITs).
I'll attempt to make a userscript to strip this garbage out of the links (hopefully restoring both your link color usability and the checkboxes script's usability), but don't have time tonight, might be a few days.
Amazon does not collect any information like that when you sign up. Are you thinking of the profile HITs?
If so, Amazon says you can re-do those HITs periodically.
Although there is no single thing to look for, there are clues. A batch will have <em>multiple</em> Hits available (example from Shopping Receipts US) -- but that's not a sufficient bit of information. Since the new MTurk price structure was put in place, we've seen a lot more surveys apparently offering multiple hits but specifying -- either in the hit description or the relevant consent form -- that you can only complete one of these Hits. Those are not batches.
You might also look at the amount of money being offered per Hit. In general, batch hits offer from $.01 - $.25, but again, this is not sufficient information, as it's not uncommon to see very short surveys in the upper range of those prices.
So -- to sum up -- if it's a low-paying Hit and there are many Hits available, it's probably a batch. Watch for warnings about taking the Hit multiple times though!
You may not use Amazon Mechanical Turk for illegal or objectionable activities. Here are some examples of prohibited activities:
What are some specific examples of HITs that violate Amazon Mechanical Turk policies?
Pandas are monochromatic bears endemic to southern China. Their diet consists almost exclusively of bamboo and -- oh, that's not the panda you meant.
Normally when you view a job (Called HITs on Turk), you are previewing it and must further click the "Accept" button to actually claim it to work on it. If you look at the URL of the page before you accept the HIT, you'll notice it says mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=something
. However, Turk also has a built-in system of automatically accepting the work using a URL like mturk.com/mturk/previewandaccept?groupId=something
which gives us the term panda: preview and accept. When people talk about pandas, it simply means a previewandaccept URL for a specific HIT.
Using a tool like TurkMaster, you can automatically refresh pandas in the background while you do other things (ostensibly, work on other HITs.) The benefit of this is that you can save a panda for a job you missed (a high paying survey or an awesome batch) and you will continue to automatically collect these simply by the script refreshing the URL on its own.
To use TurkMaster, you must open up a tab on your browser to your MTurk Dashboard and never close it. I use Chrome, so I pin this tab. I think Firefox has this feature as well but they call it something else.
While having your dashboard tab open, you will notice a white button pop up on certain pages that says something like "Watch this HIT?" Clicking this button will give you the TurkMaster options for configuring that panda and it will then automatically watch for this HIT on your behalf.
To stop the panda, simply open your Dashboard tab and click the pause button next to the panda (or the stop all button near the top left.)
Since you are calling HITs "turks" I'm going to guess that you're new. Here's a good page for you to check out:
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies
It lists the types of HITs that violate the MTurk terms of service (TOS). If you come across any of these don't do them, but do report them from the preview page using the little box below the HIT window on the right side. Also, in case you haven't already discovered the Turkopticon (TO) review site, please check it out and install the script for it. It will help you avoid HITs that are bad risks.
There is no official working HIT DB for firefox anymore. The one that used to work with firefox was this https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4999-mturk-hit-database-testing
But amazon changed stuff around, which broke the script.
Tjololo keeps this one going https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/864-mturk-hit-database
But it does not work with firefox for viewing the reports and searches and stuff.
If you take the fix that Tjololo wrote when amazon made changes, and splice it into the code for HIT Database testing 1.5.9, it will make the firefox compatible version work again.
Check out the edit in the OP in Tjololo's post here:
/r/mturk/comments/38bxlr/update_for_hitdb_hopefully_it_fixes_the_recent/
You should never do so many HITs of a new unknown requester that it could bring your rate down like that. :-\ Use https://greasyfork.org/scripts/4391-turkopticon and https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/7589-mturk-worst-best-case-scenario
