Secondly, thank you SO much for such kind words! Those who know me well know that there is plenty of darkness in my character, despite me being a pretty cheerful guy. I feel like that was extremely helpful in performing Yagami, because he's clearly had a history that has scarred him in different ways. the game supports ds4 icons but it's quite tricky to use them. to show the correct icons, I had to disable the ds4 controller support in steam big picture settings, use ds4windows (here the version that is still updated) and set it as a dualshock 4 controller in the profile settings.

Any will do, I personally use this one though. Just set the AI to hardest and input the opponent moves from the game to the app and implement the AI's response to your real opponent.

Nothing really going on besides model swapping and texture editing. People arent really sure yet how to view the game models let alone edit them. There will be more and more advanced stuff coming out given some more time.

I'd probably go with Nishiki's, with the koi swimming upstream. I learned, in looking into the tats, that in Chinese mythology, if a koi swims all the way up a particular river, past the rapids and through the "dragon's gate," the koi then transforms into a dragon.

I think the symbolism of Nishiki, the koi, being best friends with the Dragon of Dojima is super smart and emblematic of their relationship, Nishikiyama always striving to be like Kiryu but never actually reaching his level of strength or actual success.

I know this thread is a little old, but if you haven't found an answer yet I would highly recommend SharpKeys.

You can rebind specific keys to function as others on your keyboard. Unfortunately, I think you have to restart your computer to apply/undo the changes but you can save different configurations so it's easy to revert or go back to different settings.

Sadly you cannot play Yakuza 3 on RPCS3, I tried it very recently and found it unplayable due to missing textures and single digit frame drops.

For future reference, I’d recommend looking at this RPCS3 game’s compatibility chart. sadly the only Yakuza game that actually works in RPCS3 is Kenzan, and that isn’t even in English.

As for where to get PS3 roms, well that I cannot disclose here, DM me if you wanna know where I get them.

Has anyone bought the Takashi Miike film on Blu-ray? It's a French release, but it says it's region free with English subtitles. I ask because according to several reviews on Amazon, the disc doesn't play. For obvious reasons I'd rather have it on Blu-ray than DVD, but I'd also rather have a functioning DVD than a worthless Blu-ray, so I don't know what to do.

If you're open to anime I recommend Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor (on Crunchyroll in the US). It's based on a gambling manga, but you don't need to be interested in gambling to enjoy it. It's about a guy who gets indebted to loan sharks and is forced into insane life or death games to get out of it. It reminds me of Yakuza in that it deals with shady underworld stuff, over the top dramatic situations that are occasionally very poignant, and a guy who just can't seem to keep himself out of trouble. Here's a YouTube that goes in depth about why it's great.

I believe there's also a couple of live action films but I haven't watched them myself.

I'm going to give you some constructive criticism (so take it or leave it), not on the content but on your voiceover. You need to really focus on annunciation and using the full power of your voice. Annunciation isn't nearly important as how you use your voice. There is no greater text on how to utilize your voice than a fairly small book by Lili Lehmann, a renowned opera singer. This may appear to be unrelated but I would highly suggest buying this book if for no other reason than the fantastic drawings. The vast majority of people (myself included) formed very bad habits when speaking and it's important to understand how your voice works and how to utilize your range. While the book is aimed at opera singing or singing in general, its parallels to any operation of the voice cannot be understated. Speaking clearly and powerfully is what separates the wheat and the chaff in singing or voice work. A good speaker can make the most mundane topic interesting or exciting.

Kurohyou 1 has a fan translation, but it's so raw even a tutorial will be a problem. Like, the only thing translated is story text, a big chunk of the system side is just [*******]. So, I think it won't be wrong to call it dysfunctional. However, if you're dead set to play it even like THAT, then your only way to play it is, obviously, a PSP emulator, aka PPSSPP. The ROM is here [if piracy is prohibited here after all, reply me, I'll edit the link out], and the emulator won't be a problem to find without my help.

There is sadly no Yakuza game that works on RPCS3, I could go into detail for paragraphs of my own testing, but instead I will post the link to the RPCS3 compatibility page for Yakuza.

A good CPU and any GPU with Vulkan support. GPU is not as important as you can run it at 4k with a 750ti without a performance penalty. The better your CPU the better your experience. The emulator is still in development and improvements are constantly being made. With the latest master build I get mostly 25-30fps in cutscenes and indoors, 25-30fps in the city while looking down, 8-15fps in the city with neutral camera and in fights, with an i7-2600.

OP's video is running with a i7-7700k but he might not have been using the latest build which has some performance improvements.

Official requirements are here but requirements vary largely between games. Some games run fine with an older i3, some can't yet run at full speed even with a 9900k.

If you want to get some idea of how your CPU performs with various titles do a youtube search for 'rpcs3 [your CPU model]' and look for newer videos.

Yeah, I mean, it’s honestly something you’ll know almost from the beginning of the game, like, maybe just within the first few hours you’ll probably put it together. They drop a lot of hints in 0 as well. It’s very clear that they’re building up to that conflict. I personally wouldn’t consider it much of a spoiler.

Even the front cover of the game makes it obvious, and the back cover explicitly says it. I’m sure it felt like a big deal in the moment, but it’s really not that bad. There are other twists in the game anyways.

The movie is called Kono Otoko-tachi Kyoubou ni te and if you look at the DVD you'll notice another familiar face from Yakuza Zero: Hideo Nakano (who played Shibusawa). They're all long time friends of Ozawa (Kuze), who actually directed it. Prolific AV star Sora Aoi is also in it.

If you're talking about this it's actually only 3,4,5 it's some weird thing with the item description on multiple websites it says the same thing on Amazon it comes off as if it has all of them. To add if you haven't bought 0, Kiwami 1/2 yet buy them individually they are on sale for $18 combined.

On the wiki article that claim about Kiryu's name is sourced to this book on which Nagoshi was the co-author. There isn't a page number though and the book doesn't have a digital version so I can't check it for you.

If you’re not fussed about the PS3 case the PS4 standard version should be available from most places - found on Amazon. In the UK it’s pretty cheap now, like £23 which is an absolute bargain for how much content you get, so not sure if any US retailers are discounting it

The only good book I've ever been able to find is 龍の宿命 『龍が如く』を作った男. It contains lots of info on the creation of the first game in the series and has some pretty interesting concept art.

It is unfortunately in Japanese only though afaik and there's not really enough pictures to justify buying it if you don't understand the language so I don't know how helpful that will be unfortunately.

i think xbox is in the same boat. there is also no "official fully next gen" xsx version of the game, the game is just optimized. as seen here

All 3 Crime Hunter movies are great. They're what started the V-Cinema boom in the 90's which, in turn, spawned a lot of the Yakuza cinema which influenced the RGG series.

Unfortunately, the series has never received any western dvd releases as far as I know (V-Cinema is kind of unknown outside of Japan), so there isn't any version out there with English subtitles but... The 2nd and 3rd one are both like 50~60% english dialogue anyways though, so even if you don't speak Japanese they wouldn't be too hard to follow I guess

Looks like it's $42 on Amazon currently. I'd say it's totally worth it; I just played it for the first time earlier this year and got more than my money's worth.

Great to see it coming out in Canada on EB games. On that matter, it seems that the Yakuza 0 entry disappeared on Amazon.ca - maybe they're updating it to this edition?
