This is the "Top Wishes" list not the top bugs from the Nov. 19th dev update.
Maybe they actually playtested this patch, and are fixing some issues instead of just dropping it anyhow like they've done in the past?
edit: holy shit I was right: https://www.flightsimulator.com/update-5-delay/
Doesn't seem like it:
>In addition to its digital versions, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be available as a retail disc version at European stores via Aerosoft. For more information on these retail disc versions in Europe, please visit the Aerosoft website.
Well the consensus is that the current state of the Sim excels at GA flying and doesn't offer a great experience for anything else. That said the number one thing that they are working on is the G1000 and AP issues, source, with progress expected in update 3. They have been consistently working on your one complaint. Would it make sense to drop everything else when they have the resources to tackle more than one issue? No.
If the current state of the same isn't to your liking, don't use it. Stick with one of the sims that meets your needs. Wise of you to test it on gamepass first. Posts like this are utterly pointless.
Scroll down this page, looks like the PC6 will be steam gauges.

They put this on their dev log last night:
>Based on community reporting, the team is preparing a hotfix for a few issues that are affecting the community. We will be sure to keep the community updated on the progress and potential release time frame, but it will be soon!
>
>The issues we will be including:
>
>WASM stand alone modules used in some add-ons are no longer working
>
>Cockpit screens can be unresponsive if the RTC is not skipped
The quote from the 4th Feb blog was "We anticipate that the update will be ready for you on February 11th and the team appreciates your continued patience and understanding."
Understandable if it's not launching today, but would really appreciate a short update or tweet if it was being pushed out again
I know the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 hype is really strong, but it is releasing in about a month (8/18) and it might be a good choice for you. It starts at $60 for the standard version which does come with an Airbus A320neo and 747-8i as part of the standard version (as well as the 787 in the premium version). The graphics are really good, leagues better than anything else currently on the market and it should be a great value for the quality of the graphics and the aircraft it provides. It is also on Xbox game pass, which can be had for $1 for the first month if you want to just dip your toes and see if you like it.
Microsoft released some cool videos detailing the new simulator, and there's an episode on the World/Scenery and another one on IFR (that shows the A320).
Happy flying!
Here’s a link to the Most recent development update: https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-10th-2020-development-update/
There is specific mention of the Longitude in the notes, so I certainly hope they address these issues. It’s definitely a major one: Cessna Citation Longitude Performance issues – “Engine, fuel, and flight dynamics issues with the Longitude”
Also note that on the official forums, when you report bugs, they have a vote feature that allows the developers to see what the community thinks are the most important issues. The Development Updates use information pulled directly from the forums: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/self-service/bugs-issues/159
Edit: the Longitude is one of my favorite aircraft to fly in the Sim. I’m really hoping that they address these issues and get it squared away ASAP.
> Maybe supporting other devices actually requires testing them and making sure they work with the game, needing to remap controller buttons etc.? It's not really a big mystery.
It doesn't work like that. Support is added at a platform level (SteamVR, WMR etc), not for each headset. For example, there is no reason this won't work on the Reverb 1 unless its a marketing deal with HP.
Edit: Confirmed.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/?p=114520
> VR support will be available on all Windows Mixed Realty (WMR) headsets upon VR launch. Support for additional platforms/headsets will follow. Stay tuned for future updates.
Don't agree. Just like car companies who showcase future products, Amazon could have done the same, beginning even at a slower process, begin a new product launch. Bezos thinks he has MicroVision by the #$%@&, he is mistaken because Google, Micrsoft, and Samsung and others could now easily carry the ball since the engineering is so far along. Amazon blew it. And don't forget that the tech can be used in XBox. Simulation games are huge.
? Why the skepticism, we've been seeing plenty of screenshots like this from the alpha. Here's another wing shot https://www.reddit.com/r/flightsim/comments/cqzaq9/ms_flight_simulator_2020_new_preview_screenshot/
One great one in this (the second pic) https://www.flightsimulator.com/december-19th-2019-development-update/
I was a Alpha, then Beta Tester on the newest Microsoft Flight Simulator. We got weekly updates. Some updates may not have had much info about changes, but every week there was something. In fact they are still doing weekly updates - https://www.flightsimulator.com/
There are supposed to be cross-platform mods in the marketplace already, including the f15, f14, spitfire, zenith, etc. The latest dev update has the scoop:

If anyone is looking for the patch notes that were released yesterday they can be found here: https://www.flightsimulator.com/august-27th-2020-development-update/

the MSFS website isn't great and I find it keeps loading an older cached version for me so I have to refresh the home page multiple times before that article appears.

I guess given those notes this isn't that 80GB update we've been seeing? It doesn't list any in sim bug fixes.
VR support is coming 'later' https://www.flightsimulator.com/july-30th-2020-development-update/
' VR support for Microsoft Flight Simulator will coincide with the HP Reverb G2 this fall. VR support will be available on all Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headsets upon VR launch '
Yes, Simconnect is already part of the simulator. https://www.flightsimulator.com/november-21st-2019-development-update/
Additionally, FSUIPC has announced on their forums that FSUIPC v7 is in testing.
So basically anything used by FSX to exchange data will be either available at launch or soon after.
Nope.

Since the game hasnt been released yet no one can have a good clue what you need to run the game, but the devs did release what specs the recommend you having right here.

all we really know is we are getting one in ~3 weeks with the GOTY/SU7 update (Nov 18)
you can read what they did say here
https://www.flightsimulator.com/coming-soon-microsoft-flight-simulator-game-of-the-year-edition/
You're welcome! You can track progress on it by looking at the development update each week. They are posted every Thursday. The October 7th development update is where I pulled the 21-22 estimate from (You can find it listed in the first feedback snapshot image on that page). It is currently the fifth most wished for feature!
WU6 is delayed until September 7th but it's contents are largely known at this point. So OP is asking about the update after that.
Or they made a typo, who knows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There’s a cursor you can use with the controller, I don’t know how to use it but activated with a combination of buttons on the xb controller.
I guess it's good if it works for you, but I would never suggest that one of my students use a home simulator to practice maneuvers. Too much possibility of negative transfer. There's a reason why even professional FTDs and Level D sims are rarely used for anything other than practicing procedures, instrument flying, or emergencies.
>Also, do you have any links showing that they’ve improved their flight models? From what I’ve seen their improvements have been purely graphics based.
You're not looking very hard. These are the patch notes of the last sim update in May. They've also partnered with third parties like Working Title to improve the depth of systems and avionics in default planes.
>FSX had a strong focus on realism
I assume you're talking about third-party add-ons? Because the default aircraft in FSX aren't even close to the state of default aircraft in MSFS.
Looks like they have started to do some work on this, but with no public timetable: #8 on the wishlist:
https://www.flightsimulator.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Slide1.png
Yes, it is a known issue both listed on the patch notes and the "known issues" page
While it is shitty they decided to release the patch that boinks up the Longitude as much, y'all should read patch notes so you know what exactly is boinked up or improved xD
Hi,
It's listed under the "known issues" in the latest update release notes:
https://www.flightsimulator.com/world-update-i-japan-patch-version-1-9-3-is-now-available/
Hopefully it's going to be fixed with next one ;)
Not sure if related, but I noticed this in the patch notes as a known issue:
> Airbus A320neo : PFDs shutdowns randomly
There are currently bugs with live weather, including the 225@3 knot issue, which are being resolved with an update that is releasing sometime in the next week or so. You can read more about it in the development update and on the forums.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-10th-2020-development-update/
>Longitude uses about 4x the amount of fuel it realistically should
It's missing 9000lbs of fuel, more importantly. It gets 1/4 the range because it's 50% thirstier, too.
The post from the 10th detailing patch 2 update notes lists a fix for this, however.
It's already on their radar (https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-10th-2020-development-update/) but I think it won't hurt if they see how massively we hate this 'feature'.
According to this they're aiming for the second to last week of September. So we're in for about 2 more weeks of broken live weather and poor performance sadly, unless we get a good news from them on Thursday and the patch comes sooner than expected.
Did you take a look at the actual Flight Simulator Development Blog?

"The team is currently working hard to provide a patch update to address issues that have been recently reported. Expect a release date for the patch in our August 27th update." - MSFS Development Blog
'Expect a release date' seems it could just be a blog update with the patch release date?
In last week's developer update, it said that they would give Early Beta access to anyone in the Alpha as a thank you.
> As a Special Thanks to all of you in the Alpha Community for your feedback and dedication to help make Microsoft Flight Simulator awesome, we are giving you early access to the Closed Beta build today. A reminder that the NDA is still in place for the Closed Beta. Enjoy!
I believe if you aren't already in the Alpha and got invited today, I think you have to wait until the Beta Release on the 30th.

The 172 with the G1000 is in the standard version. I assume the next one is the steam gauges you pay extra for. The Bonanza is also in the standard package. Its the Baron thats behind the pay wall.

This is from today's blog update. From the looks of it, they do have included VR in mind.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/ July 25 Update
“‘I want to pay for it in unmarked, non-sequential, low denomination bills, placed in three black plastic bin bags, left on the third floor of an abandoned multi-story car park, at midnight.’ - AVSIM User

Well go with MSFS2020 you can't go much wrong with it... also since this Week there is the New World Update (for Free) with Australia.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/release-notes-1-22-2-0-world-update-vii-australia-now-available/
Most of the buildings are generated through photogrammetry, which comes from Microsoft’s Bing Maps team. For notable landmarks that need more detail, or things that haven’t been built yet, they use custom 3D models. In the full patch notes you can see that the Queen’s Wharf you’re talking about is one of those custom made points-of-interest.
This update was made in partnership with Orbx, an Australian-based 3rd party scenery developer. They made all the POIs and custom airports, so they probably have a lot of local knowledge about important landmarks like that.
The "private dev creativity space" looks bullshit to me. But can't blame them on not opening their bugtracker, it's too much openess compared to whay they are (badly) doing in PR. There's such a wide gap between their trailers (that always look amazing) and their "newsletter" that contradict itself from time to time without ever acknowledging it.
Asobo (msfs dev) has its flaws, but at least they know how go communicate about bugs (and they have some activity there) and roadmap. They also do dev q&a.
And it's not about "Microsoft money", it's some work, but it's not a 20 person team or anything like that to run it.
The Radar isn't true or "real". https://www.flightsimulator.com/december-16th-2021-development-update/ But there working on it.

Microsoft official specs requirements for low, min, and high
Those are right, but I was just reading that they're going to go ahead and release it next month for the Game of the Year edition update. Let me see if I can still find that article.
Edit: Found it: https://www.flightsimulator.com/coming-soon-microsoft-flight-simulator-game-of-the-year-edition/
> We are adding 5 brand new aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator: Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet: Our first military jet and a highly requested feature from the community. I knew I saw it somewhere. Multi-screen functionality is on the Development Roadmap with "2022" as the timing.
So looks like we may have talked it into existence haha
From the just published blog - Coming Soon: Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition > NEW FEATURES

Check the forum and the official website for update schedule and hotfixes. Next one should be 7th September with an world update according to the roadmap. Every Thursday they post a development update so check that out.
Edit: I just realized the roadmap hasn't been updated but next Thursday should be
Here, Scroll down to the Feedback Snapshot section and look at the second image. #30 says “Shared Cockpit/Multiplayer” and it says “Planned, 2022”
The changes to LODs are explained in the release notes (look for SDK Update) and they said they are going to be reversed to the previous behaviour on the PC.
not everyone needs to like everything.
personally i have more ctd in msfs than cp

the bottom line is, that asobo reacts a lot quicker
Please correct me if I am wrong here. Down in the release notes under SDK update are the changes to the LOD that were introduced “for XBOX” By raising the percentage at which objects disappear, it would seem to explain the disappearing textures. This is now a feature, and not a bug. This partly explains the massive performance jump in the sim. Again, I am no expert but this is some of the talk on the forum. Please check it out for yourself here. https://www.flightsimulator.com/july-29th-2021-development-update/
Does it depend on the plane? Or try turning off AI traffic. I had some luck with that when I got CTD's with the FBW.
There's also a hotfix coming tomorrow 1500Z that has some CTD fixes
if you consider "one graphical glitch & random lightning" 'major bugs' as your title suggests then maybe this is not the right game for you.
there are still some Minor Bugs just as you describe, in fact im not certain the lightning bug is gone tho i do believe its reduced
the AP and fuel consumption have been adjusted/updated but may still not be to your satisfaction, particularly the AP which i think a lot of people report as a bug because they dont know how to use them correctly, so its been inflated in my opinion - i have only seen this bug once in my 500-600 hours play time, but then i rarely use the big airliners which is where they where most common
there have been lots of improvements and additions which i wont restate here, you can look at the patch notes to see what all has been added or done in this respect
https://www.flightsimulator.com/march-25th-2021-development-update/you
you can scroll forward or backward thru them from the "Next Post" "Previous Post" buttons at the bottom
(found via Google in less than 30secs - search engines are our friends)
Sounds good! I only checked the recent updates on Steam and flightsimulator.com, and found nothing.
EDIT: There's an update and trailer here now: https://www.flightsimulator.com/release-notes-1-17-3-0-world-update-v-nordics-now-available/
Looks like it is a part of World Update 4, so I think you might have to install the extra scenery from the marketplace if it's like the previous world updates.
Support for DCS, X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator would make this a day-one purchase for many:
A hotfix will be pushed next week to fix the flaps/lift issue. If using this mod, make sure to remove it when this hotfix drops.
More details: https://www.flightsimulator.com/february-25th-2021-development-update/
can you check again now? looks like the devs have looked into this issue:
>Fixed flickering clouds for some specific GPUs

Update: Developer says to expect FS2020 on XBox in summer of 2021. One short comment near the top of the page
>Xbox? Coming Summer 2021.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/december-10th-2020-development-update/
First time it has been mentioned on the roadmap site.
I'm confused as well because according to https://www.flightsimulator.com/development-roadmap Update 7 was released on November 24? The LEDs don't work on mine, but the controls/switches all work just fine.
To be expected in 2021...sorry :/

Sorry mate, but c'mon, just read at least their official homepage news: https://www.flightsimulator.com/world-update-i-japan-patch-version-1-9-3-is-now-available/

> be sure your simulator is up to date first. Once MSFS is updated, visit the Marketplace to download the Japan content bundle and experience
Hello dev,
I understand this is your first creation for MSFS (or any other flight sim?), and it's looking gorgeous, almost ORBX quality. I'm a big fan of such small GA aviation airfields in UK so I'm your intended audience indeed :)
I have never heard of your company before. Would you like to put some more information about you or your fellow colleagues in your website in future, perhaps? I think people get to know more about you that way and build some faith before spending their monies.
Most importantly, make sure you have applied to be a developer for MSFS by applying through the official MSFS channel: https://www.flightsimulator.com/partner-program/ This way your addon ends up in the in-sim MSFS marketplace which is the only place many others and I will be buying our MSFS addons from. It's a great way to massively increase your visibility too.
Also make sure you frequent and communicate with members of flight simulator community in places such as FSElite, Threshold, AVSim etc. That way more people get to use and review your addon.
Thanks for everything you do, and I hope to see many more works from you in future. I have a request: if you could do EGGP I'll be very grateful :)
Wish you all the best.
Says on the dev post “Update 5 (10/27)” interesting thing is it's displayed under the Oct 29th heading.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/october-22nd-2020-development-update/
this bug is fixed in the coming patch 4, released the 13th (or 15th) Okt.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/october-8th-2020-development-update/
Yes, it's listed under the Known Issues for the Japan Update (1.9.3) and has been discussed on /r/flightsim to death at this point.
I found links in your comment that were not hyperlinked:

Hopefully this is enough to get you going. :)
Well they have "Airbus Issues After Patch" as one of the fixed items in next week's update so hopefully it will include this bug.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-24th-2020-development-update/
It’s a known issue. See the latest Dev Update
“Bush Trip updates (e.g. completion trigger fixed/Completionist achievement fixed)”
Hopefully patch 2 will grant you the achievement!
It looks like it's a glitch with the program itself. It should be fixed in the next patch: https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-10th-2020-development-update/
Yeah, still hasn't popped up :(
Edit: Just read this on the FS2020 website. It should be fixed in the next patch: https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-10th-2020-development-update/
If you pop over to : https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-3rd-2020-development-update/ scroll down to the section in that dev update which its noted Patch#2 and in the purple picture is has "Performance: stutters on CPU with lower thread count - sigificantly improved/september update".
You are not on the latest build of the game 1.7.14.0 . according to your screenshot. Stating the obvious about the missing planes says you need to do more research before you buy things. Approaching this title as a game nets you an empty feeling after the hype wears off. Approaching it as a simulator gives you hours of enjoyment because you start seeing the extra things your imagination cooks up.
Microsoft have confirmed that this will be addressed in the upcoming patch within the next 6 days:
https://www.flightsimulator.com/august-27th-2020-development-update/
Yes. Look here and it talks about next week’s patch, from the Devs themselves. They’re updating the installer.
All they have to do is update the installer and it’s files wherever it is purchased/in the main patch for other issues for those of us with the game.
So if you buy it off Microsoft Store or Steam or wherever, it’ll be the most recent installer with the fix. When you click the installer, it’ll likely update itself when it connects to the internet if they don’t go the route and change the installer in the stores
To manage expectations, I think what was said was the release date for the fix comes out thursday... unless there was some sort of clarification somewhere - https://www.flightsimulator.com/august-20th-2020-development-update/
Unfortunately, seems the fall update will only include support for Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headsets, not general VR headsets like Rift and alike. See https://www.flightsimulator.com/july-30th-2020-development-update/
> VR support for Microsoft Flight Simulator will coincide with the HP Reverb G2 this fall. VR support will be available on all Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headsets upon VR launch. Support for additional platforms/headsets will follow.
I can't wait until full VR support is there. I got FS2020, tried it, but it's really not the same without VR so it's back to X-Plane for me, for now.
>Weirdly my laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port so I can’t Hardline it. Everything else downloads quickly over wifi. I always download 5-10+ GB files at 200mbps (so a few minutes). In the forums a ton of people are having the same issue. The game update downloads at like 3mps. The devs also acknowledge the slow download times. I tried everything they recommended to speed it up and it just keeps crashing every 20 minutes after downloading a few GBs at most.

>Edit: This site here says they know and are triaging. So, it likely is a game issue.
You have to be careful when you suggest BIOS changes like this. For some people, the resetting the configuration to defaults can actually cause their computer to stop booting, especially if the default boot parameters are different then the currently set parameters (such as Drive Handling type, Boot Mode, CSM mode, and a few other settings. So if you are not a technician be very careful when resetting your BIOS.
Also, you guys should be sure to check www.flightsimulator.com often, they have an article there that has tons of workarounds and fixes for many common issues.
