According to this page from Amazon US, they'll ship the Acer headset to Brazil. It would be around 180 USD + shipping and fees, which would likely be under the amount they refund you, if you wanted to get the same headset.Other headsets from Amazon, like the Dell Visor WMR headset and Lenovo Explorer WMR headset, also seem to have the option to ship to Brazil.
Edit: Amazon seems to have an estimate for the fees and shipping. 240 USD. Total is 417 USD.
>i mainly want to use the Cliffhouse environment to use as an office and watch movies.
No you don't. That's garbage. Double your budget.

Congrats! You made a great first choice :)
First things first: make sure your room is ready! WMR tracking likes interesting walls, lots of unnatural light, no open window shades, and no reflective surfaces.
Get yourself a set of these Velcro straps : you loop them across the top of the halo for pressure relief on your head during long sessions.
Install steamVR and Windows mixed reality for steamVR from steam.
Get the Lab, Rec Room, and Beat Saber. Research how to mod Beat Saber.
Skyrim is a must-have even if you’ve played it a million times but also requires at least a little modding. Visit /r/skyrimvr and get familiar with things. They have auto mod installers now that I hear work well. Wait for Skyrim to be on sale though (it is pretty often!)
Research how to get revive working if you’re interested in playing Oculus exclusives.
I think that’s about it!
Yes, but it has to be an active adapter and not passive. I have this one and have not had any issues:
I got a headband strap and that relieves a lot of the pressure, along with the VRCover foam replacement. The Foam replacement will do the most good, but the strap will also help and you'll be able to use it for a future headset as well (I got it for my Odyssey+ which i connect one side in front of one headphone, and behind the other headphone).
Edit: Just double checked how the Odyssey+ is with either a new strap, new foam, or both. I'd go for the Foam replacement first definitely since that relieves almost all pain, and go for the strap (or some other cheaper alternative like u/staticattacks recommended) after if you still want a little additional comfort.
It is available on Amazon for $ 599: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R768KJP/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=hp+reverb&qid=1556265757&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmrnull (unfortunately not yet in stock, but you can reserve it)
Had the Odyssey for about 2 weeks now. Great device, only issue I've been having is the left touch pad gets stuck in VRChat sometimes (software). The cord is a little shot too, but I hear that's an issue with all(most?) headsets. Fixed that issue by getting a HDMI/USB3 extender.
I don't really have anything I can compare it too since it's my first VR headset. So I'll just boil it down to: Is it worth $400? Yes, for me Gorn, Fallout VR, and SuperHot VR make it worth it. Also recommend getting some rechargeable batteries, first set lasted me about 2 days.
Don't forget to buy a Bluetooth dongle if you don't have one. Bluetooth is required for the controllers.
Reinstall Windows has been the ultimate fix for weird problems forever.
I recommend Rufus for copying the ISO onto a bootable USB stick. https://rufus.ie/en_IE.html

The Thrill of the Fight is a great boxing game that really makes you work up a sweat. After a 3 minute round they give you 60 seconds just to sit down and take a break before getting back into it. After 3 rounds you'll feel like you just ran a marathon.
It works for me without anything special. If you haven't already you need to download the windows mixed reality for steamVR. https://store.steampowered.com/app/719950/Windows_Mixed_Reality_for_SteamVR/
Hit up eBay or Craigslist for a used Thrustmaster T150/TMX or Logitech G27 wheel. Anything else new under $100 is going to suck badly as it won't have force feedback and will be using a bungee system instead which break very quickly.
I got my Thrustmaster T150 PRO Force Feedback Racing Wheel on sale for 118.45 (costs $249 new) from Walmart like 4 months ago using https://slickdeals.net to inform me of the deal. so that's another way to get a good wheel for cheap.
not sure you can get around it but I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Individual-Switches-Included-HB-UMP3/dp/B00TPMEOYM
I leave it plugged in and use the USB switch instead
also powered USB might eliminate problems if you've had any
I used this watch protector on both my Lenovo Explorer and Odyssey+.
The 42mm for the Lenovo fit well however it seems a little small on my Odyssey+.
Feel free to argue this, but this plugs into a desktop, right? I can see the purpose on a laptop, but there are plenty of ways to achieve HDMI and USB over the USB C/thunderbolt connector. What makes this special?
It would almost certainly work if it works for the oculus... just failing to see how this is anything new.
Just so you get what I mean, this is an item that could be used to achieve this if one wanted it. Sure, the add in card is $60, and the adapters would add a bit more cost, but this would allow you to run both HDMI (in this case via the displayport) and USB 3 over the physical C/Thunderbolt interface without requiring a brand new Nvidia GPU to do so.
Edit: Found some previous discussion on this. This makes me excited to cut the current cable setup down to USB C form factor cables, honestly.
you can use 14500's and a dummy cell to recharge them as well, which is under $20 in cost. Or, you could use four/eight amazon batteries and a recharger, for $20/$30.
>It seems like you would barely break even costwise by the end of the rechargable battery life.
Going off of the first pack of AAs I found on Amazon that are name brand, which is 48 cells for $20, you're implying that four NiMH cells will die by then. Given that four units from Eneloop batteries (Eneloop Pros are what the Amazon High Capacity cells are comparable to, so this is a worse case) have a rated 2100 cycle count, even assuming they lose 50% of their capacity by then and only the first 1050, or even 525 cycles are usable (which is false, ALL the cycles will be of significant use, mine last me multiple sessions), you would need WELL OVER 48 batteries to outperform AAs, and 14500s are likely a similar story.
> Maybe supporting other devices actually requires testing them and making sure they work with the game, needing to remap controller buttons etc.? It's not really a big mystery.
It doesn't work like that. Support is added at a platform level (SteamVR, WMR etc), not for each headset. For example, there is no reason this won't work on the Reverb 1 unless its a marketing deal with HP.
Edit: Confirmed.
https://www.flightsimulator.com/?p=114520
> VR support will be available on all Windows Mixed Realty (WMR) headsets upon VR launch. Support for additional platforms/headsets will follow. Stay tuned for future updates.
Yeah I got it working by using a pcie USB 3.0 add in card. The issue has to do with some early usb 3.0 ports not supplying the appropriate amount of power it is also a known issue on the oculus and Vive, although oddly enough my oculus wasn't affected. The exact card I used is the Rosewill Rc-508 (4 port external usb3.0 pci Express card) this is the Amazon link to the card https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011LZY20G?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Anyone with more sense than money can get a packet of two velcro straps from Amazon for £7 delivered. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01G54B68Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has a finger printer reader and a i5. I upgraded the ram to 16gb and added a second 500GB ssd. Cheapest one I see now with close to the same specs is $800 check coupons on slickdeals. I think I was able to get $100 dollars off at the time.
Search this. You will $200 off for some models. My main is a Macbook Pro and I only purchased it for VR, so I didn't want to spend a great deal. Check Dell Outlet Twitter, they give away codes for 40% off or $100 - 400 off.
None of the codes I found work so far, but look around.
Just do a clean install of Windows 10. It seems a lot of people are having issues after the 1803 upgrade. Most people who have done a 1803 clean install with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool report that the issues are gone. So just save yourself the effort of sorting out the nonsense, and do a clean install + Ninite .
Consider Natural Locomotion. It's a movement kind of like GORN but much better suited for open worlds or small spaces, to use with many games like Skyrim VR. Of the people that get sick with artificial locomotion, the vast majority is fine with NaLo. There's a free demo scene you can try.
Disclaimer: I'm NaLo dev.
Here's a site that has either demos for upcoming games or games that are simply free and don't need to be on steam for one reason or another
https://itch.io/games/tag-virtual-reality
It's where Gorn famously started off. I'm sure you can dig around and find some fun stuff there. Have you tried all of the good free experiences through steam? There are quite a few. Accounting is my personal favorite!
That sounds like the monthly price for a Minecraft Realm. That is a server that lives in the cloud, allowing you to have a persistent world available 24/7 over the network to anyone you invite.
Still waiting for MS key...can anyone test our game Taphouse VR with it while we wait? I literally have our Acer devkit hooked up to my computer in anticipation of getting to test our game out with it, but no SteamVR private beta key yet!!
Another way to test if it is the temps is to use a temp monitor to see if they are going up or not.
I prefer: https://openhardwaremonitor.org/
I had failing case fans a few years back and it was causing my temps to rise for all parts during gaming.
You might want to try the older standalone release of DeoVR: http://deovr.com/
Download the 'Vive' release. The newer Steam version looks promising but as it's a rewrite in progress it's missing some of the features of the older version, and maybe there are performance issues. It's just a guess, but it's worth a shot.
With the standalone, use the hardware accelerated batch file that is included. You also want to install LAVFilters and enable Direct Show support in DeoVR. You might also need to configure LAVFilters to enable hardware acceleration, but I can't remember the process off the top of my head (should be simple).
How did you get it so cheap? You should get either a vive 22mm cover on ebay or the VRcover version. I would also get velcro straps for the top, or you could get the more expensive version at studioform. There is also another mod you can do with the velcro straps. U put a piece of velcro on the sides of the display and use the straps to act like an adjustment to bring it closer to your eyes. This way you can wear the headset further down.. but 60 dollars is a damn steal jesus.
Link to velcro straps. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HMRN7Y6/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Same issue so I added this: 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches
I keep my HMD and my HOTAS switched off unless I need them.
Order it from Amazon. Way cheaper. Maybe get a cable instead of an adapter. For some reason they are sometimes cheaper.
Just connect your TV to the other inputs on your graphic card. Get a Display-Port-to-HDMI cable. Then use the single HDMI port for your HP headset. That's what I had to do for my mom's computer. She only had one HDMI and three Display Ports on her RX 580.
I bought this cable from Amazon for $10.99 and it arrived in a couple days. I'm a Prime member so 2-day shipping is free.
Edit: Oops. you said 4K TV. You may have to get an active Display port adapter or cable because you're using a 4k TV. A regular display-port-to-HDMI cable, like the one I linked, will only slightly do more than 1080p .
Yeah, you might have to spend more for that. Sorry, man.
Looks like it is 91372. 1.5 inches wide. ONE-WRAP Roll Cut to Length Building Strap. It’s a 30 foot roll. Lots more than you need for this job.
Here is an Amazon link
VELCRO Brand 91372 Double-Sided, Self Gripping Multi-Purpose Hook and Loop Tape, Reusable, 30-Feet x 1 1/2-Inch, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00404ULFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QCReBbSRYTP08
People have reported mixed results when using 10ft extensions so I went with a 6ft as I just wanted to keep any tension from being put on the cable. I'm using this for the USB:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7S2FRE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And an Amazon Basics HDMI extension for that cable. Had zero issues with that setup on my Dell visor.
I bought 2 sets of the Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries and keep 1 set in the charger while I use the second and swap when needed. They work great. $15 for 8.

yeah. depending on what video card you're using, you should be able to get audio out over it as well.
you can get a DisplayPort to HMDI cable from Amazon. look for one that does audio, if you need audio out on the TV.
Sure.
This is the pack with the charger I purchased. The charger is normally $20 so I figured an extra ~$6 for 4 Eneloop Pros is a good deal.
For extra batteries, I just purchased these Amazon Basics high capacity AA rechargeable batteries as they have relatively similar MAh and are decently priced.
Edit: fixed second link
$220 on Amazon with controllers, highly recommend just getting it with controllers, there's literally another post on this sub right now asking if OP should just give up on trying to find controllers because they're hard to find.
OP, if your headset slips, consider getting some velcro cinch straps to hold it on the top your head.
I don't have my unit with me, so no pics, but here's an Amazon link for the straps I'm talking about: https://www.amazon.com/CandyHome-Fastening-Adjustable-Multipurpose-Management/dp/B06WVCGC37/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1546059763&sr=1-4&keywords=cinch+straps
Hey OP, nobody has asked, but what case is your PC in? If it's metal, those have HUGE bluetooth interference (speaking from experience) so I'd get a small (.5-1 ft) USB extension cable for your bluetooth adapter. It worked wonders for me.
For the adapter, literally go on ebay or amazon and get an asus BT400. You're free to get something better, but this adapter is ~$10 and supports LE. It's all around a champ.
For the battery charger, make sure to get a SINGLE charging unit. Those "needs pairs of batteries to charge" units are shit. Here's the one I have, it runs like a champ..
You could also get a pair of rechargeable 14500s and dummy AAs. These supposedly run better because the output voltage is higher, and cost about the same as an AA setup with no extreme risk. I can find some links if you want to try that.
These cards work great https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Express-15-Pin-Connector-KT5001/dp/B00FPIMJEW Oculus even recommends the 4 port version (but its not currently available on Amazon) however this 5 port version is the same thing with an additional hub built in.
I have two of them and can confirm they work great with WMR as well
This happened to me a few times after getting extansion cables for my hmd(O+). I read a powered usb hub can fix it, so I got one off amazon. It seems to work. I also had my usb microphone plugged into the hub after I got it, and for whatever reason my pc wasn't recognizing the mic, so I stopped using the hub and plugged it directly into my pc(along with the HMD). I got the static sound again, and plugged the HMD back into the hub, and hasn't happened since, so I'm pretty sure its not a placebo.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IC2R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JsXhFbYJ2JJQD
Buy this. Like, just trust me dude. Buy this. Use them both, attach them in a cross pattern. Make an x across the top of the headset so it sits on the top of your head. It will relieve the pressure on your forehead and you will be able to play pain free for hours.
alternately, I recommend a repeating cable. I had the exact same problems as you with a passive extension until I bought one of these
You'll want to get some sort of active adapter that will convert a display port in to HDMI 2.0 in order to get 90hz, which will make a big difference in smoothness. 290 has HDMI 1.4 if i remember correctly, which will limit the HMD to 60hz, which is also why you get warning. I got this one for my Fury and it works great.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0775Z57H9/ref=twister_B0784TP7M2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The site Itch.io has a ton of free vr games to check out. A lot are student project level but there are some gems, I can gun for eg. You tube top lists are handy. Plus 88% of their paid games have a demo and/or timed. Great for trying a lot of different styles.
Worth every penny. I still can not believe how awesome that game is. THIS is how VR is supposed to be.
I've heard a lot of bitching about the throwing and aiming (likely from youngins like my step-13-year-old who if he can't be "winning" at a game in the first 5 minutes moves on to something else) ... yes, you need to put in some time and effort to learn how to throw - it's damn fun though with the target practice they have. Once you get it down it's off to the races with other real people - and even losing over and over is insanely fun in this unbelievably awesome game!
Learning AND playing (but especially playing) will get you sweating tons. I bring Gatorade to the living room when I'm going to play Sparc as if I'm going to the gym, and I certainly need it, and go through it.
The breaks are well timed too so you don't end up the first "VR death by way of heart attack" ... when in regular 'play' mode, you play a game, watch a game, play a game, watch a game. Works very well to give you a chance to catch your breath.
If you already own the java version like me, this may help:

Here's your $598 deal at Slickdeals
The label at the top of the page says that deal expired. Since the deal is out of stock as we've seen, maybe Slickdeals knows if the deal is over forever.
The comments from today on that Slickdeals page are interesting about that deal. This one says,
"Microsoft's deal tomorrow is up to $200 off headset, starting at $199. I am hoping the Samsung HS will be $299, but I doubt it."
I just checked the Microsoft site and they do say that MR headsets will be on sale tomorrow. Microsoft is on Day 7 of its "12 days of deals" promotion and tomorrow's MR headset sale day.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/12-days-of-deals?icid=topstripe_12DoD
If the Samsung's "significantly on sale, I might get that and buy the computer later when a great deal comes along. I'd like a 1070 but nobody's cutting big deals on those. I can live without the Odyssey's better graphics, but I still keep seeing people say that they can see better in an Odyssey if their IPD is not within the range obtainable on the other MR headsets.
If you could get a MR headset for $199, you could probably find a cheap $580 - $750 desktop to go with it. On December 16th, Microsoft puts some "select PCs" on sale. They don't provide details on that.
And correcting myself once more, there's a link that still works on this slickdeal thread. Basically if you add them through a different link it works. In for one since I wanted to get a new computer for my sister anyway, free headset is a bonus.
Have you installed the "windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR"? You have to download this separate in the steam store.

Visual Studio Code. It's a code / text editor, based on Atom. Has great support, a lot of plugins etc.

So this may sound really dumb but when adding the bluetooth device on Windows are you clicking Add Bluetooth or other device? My home computer has this option at the top of the Bluetooth and Other Devices menu but my Laptop does not which can make it hard to find Bluetooth items at times. This is what my desktop bluetooth menu looks like (I have controllers for my HP and Samsung HMD added which is why you see so many listed).
Bigscreen developer here. Could you & u/youthcom help us debug this? Need more info so we can fix these bugs.
Easiest way is to hop on our Discord and post in the "bugs" channel.
Or email us, with your debug logs found here:

I know this fixed my problem of not being able to smoothly play 5k hevc video, it might help you as well.
https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases
Install this, then configure the "Hardware Decoder" box
(upper right of video tab) and change it to Nvidia Cuvid. (if it isn't already)
That will enable video decoding in VR to take full advantage of your 10xx series card.
Hi u/MrTaterTots34
I am Julio from Windows Mixed Reality support team at Microsoft. I am sorry that the installation of the Mixed Reality Portal has been stuck for almost 5 hours now. I would like to help you getting the portal successfully installed.
There is some information I would like to gather so that we can determine why this is happening. Here are some questions I would like you to please answer for me:
Could you share with us the version of Windows 10 installed in the computer? You can check on this by opening Windows Settings > System > About
What is your internet download speed? You can click in the following link to run the test:
Regards,
Julio from Microsoft.
I'm using these extension 3' USB and HDMI cables for months now with my Odyssey+. I've noticed no issues so far. I keep them plugged into my mobo/gpu and only disconnect from the extender end for HMD storage.
QGeeM USB 3.0 Extension - It seems that only the 6' usb extension cable is available.
I went on Amazon and bought a very cheap “smart outlet” that I can turn on and off with a button. I plugged the power chord for my reverb G2 into that and I just click it off until I’m ready to use it and click it on when I’m ready for VR. It keeps me from having to unplug/replug anything and has been an easy workaround for that annoying issue.
I know it sounds crazy
But try 1.6V batteries
For some reason WMR controllers are very picky with batteries
I've got these ones
its great the tracking with 4 cameras is much better than my WMR head set, i have not tried a G2 i hear is comparable.
the boundary set up is super easy in the quest 2, you put on the head set, the cameras turn on you see your room with the remote you just draw a boundary around the room and its done. no walking around with the headset ect .
i play beat saber unlinked and i dont lose tracking, i've started playing expert while i would play hard on my g1. the tracking is just fine for this unless your friend wants additional body sensors like with a vive i would highly recommend it. if all they want is beat saber, easy as turn on, log in, let the new head set update, then buy the game from the oculus store and play.

just bunch of accessories they will need to buy after though, but it all fits easy. i recommend the pro head strap and the AMVR Touch Controller Grip Cover for Oculus Quest 2 . after that its head phones, silicon face mask ect if he wants.
it's not the amount of ram but I saw it happening when my ram was clocked too high for my CPU which resulted in some in memory stuff getting corrupt. that could also end up corrupting files on disk if they're being written to. the Security_Kernel_Check_Failure really seems like something is borked with windows but I don't know too much about fixing it other than doing one of those inplace upgrade things to reset all the system files
the rechargable nicads (1.2v) I don't think have enough voltage because that will always show low battery. the lithiums are 1.5v. there are a lot of suggestions in the sub here but I use these https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-Batteries-Quick-Charge-Integrated-Protection/dp/B07PRTN7Y5
only downside is there's not a lot of warning before they die, however they do last quite long so I just plug them in occasionally
and yeah WMR is bloat but oculus has their own thing too, it's not that much different. I know at a time the WMR portal used to eat resources even when you were using steamvr but I don't think that's the case anymore as it unloads cliffhouse. also you can just launch steamvr directly and it should bypass cliffhouse.
A few other things:
As others have mentioned, the Odyssey's tracking relies on the room having enough light for the cameras to see.
While the Vive works great in total darkness, you have to remember to turn on the lights at night to make the Odyssey work.
And one other thing I should mention is that the cable is a bit short on the Odyssey, I had to buy some extension cables from Amazon to be comfortable I wouldn't accidentally yank out or break the connectors.
I went with these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7SA21U/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D5H91KE/
Well, I have half of the solution. The 15' HDMI cable (amazon basics, link below) works great. Unfortunately, the headset is not recognized when using the USB extender. I meant to purchase a passive cable, and I ended up with an active one - perhaps that is the problem. I will order another part and let you know if I have any success.
HDMI Extender: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D5H92EE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There was a thread here exactly the same as this one today and I replied there that I tested one of those cables with no issues on my PC when my amazon basics one didnt work at all. Here you go 12 hours ago someone posted exactly the same thing you did =P https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsMR/comments/7ulmch/functional_usb_extension_cable/
This is the cable I used. https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-SuperSpeed-Female-Extension/dp/B00DMFB5OK
Seems it varies by PC though as it worked fine in my USB 3.1 port and the amazon basics would just connect and disconnect constantly but never allow the headset to work. Gave one of the long -120342834034etc errors.
Black screen problem has been solved! With 2017 MBP (with Bootcamp), it was really troublesome to start up HP WMR headset. Endless startup cycling or black screen. The USB recognition problem is usually solved by unplug & plug USB and HDMI dongle a few times. But, the black screen was hard to overcome. It worked once after 30-minutes (or more) try of unplug&plug and restart. :(
I was using the Apple original USB-C to HDMI adapter (one with USB port). Yes, that was the problem. BTW, I tried separate USB-C to USB adapter and even a powered USB 3 hub with no success.
It looks like the Apple HDMI adapter didn't support the higher HDMI spec. I don't think it doesn't support it at all since it worked sometimes. Or, the embedded hub was causing a problem. Anyway, after getting some idea from the discussions here, ordered a new USB-C to HDMI adapter from Amazon. The cheapest one supporting 4k (60Hz). Only $13.99. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721PWC32/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That was it! No more WMR start-up cycling and no more black screen. :)
It works Flawlessly!! Get the 1TB 15 inch model if you can. You Definitely NEED the Gtx1060.(& you're gonna run out of space quick) I'm a Flight Attendant running Oculus Games with the Odyssesy in the airport in a Back pack. It's amazing!
Best part. you can hook BOTH the Hdmi & Usb cable through the USB C port
use this 15$ adapter from Amazon! Goodluck

I bought this case for my PSVR https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRWTHEY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It carried the PSVR, playstation4, motion controllers, breakout box ds4 controllers, camera and all the cables. I even was able to put my macbook air in there.
Since ive had my WMR headset, ive used it for that. fit my oddysey, controllers, all the cables and my laptop easily.
Its showing $64 bucks now, i didnt pay that much for it when I got it. think it was 54 bucks when I bought it. but sometimes items on amazon fluctuate in prices, sometimes through the course of a day.
EDIT: here is is, same case for $54 bucks https://www.amazon.com/Hermitshell-Travel-PlayStation-Launch-Bundle-Console/dp/B01M4QTBCI/ref=pd_sbs_63_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01M4QTBCI&pd_rd_r=TFAHS15K429B722PJT9E&pd_rd_w=Wcw6z&pd_rd_wg=LDc06&psc=1&refRID=TFAHS15K429B...

This is exactly what my noggin needs! Thanks for the images!
I already ordered the strap from Amazon
there are two types of single 3.5mm theres OMTP (which is for older phones) and then theres CTIA (which is apples standard)
You need CTIA, I know on that page it says its ctia, but I'm pretty sure its actually OMTP because I ordered that same splitter but from the us amazon and it states that it doesnt work with apple/iphone devices

I haven't had issues with the Cable Matters USB dongles:
Cable Matters USB Bluetooth Adapter (USB to Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter) for Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP, Raspberry Pi in Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XRLF8B5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YbBhBb0M8WXDP
I've used it on multiple systems without a hitch. I actually just bought another one used on Amazon for a couple of dollars less knowing it works.
> Has anyone else had an issue with that?
Did you lose the cable clip on the side of the head strap?
I had the same problem when I lost that piece at a friends house during some demos. It appears the cable tie down helps keep the headset from flopping around when look down.
Unfortunately Lenovo wanted $127 for the entire headband (and doesn't sell just that part). I ended up just using some wire clips from Amazon.
I bought these and they are the first batteries I've used that make the controller actually show up as being fully charged in the cliff house.
I can't vouch for this solution as I have yet to try it, but I hear people having mixed results with replacing the face mask foam pads. As far as I can tell there's only one vendor that claims to fit the Odyssey though. They're not cheap either with 2 pads for 30 dollars. Reviews seem to state the pads are slightly larger so maybe it'll get rid of the gap you speak of in your last scenario.
Link to Amazon, but they also seem to sell directly on their website as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779VGT9W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NtIABbB01DDE4
You can get a cheap VR stand on Amazon or Aliexpress. I have one and it does the job pretty well.

I've been reading a lot about it since I'm building a new PC capable of VR and I always wanted to try it.
It's a really good VR headset. The strong poing of the headsets is the price since is more than 50% less than others with the deal (at least here), that's a steal and for an entry VR headset it's great and probably the best (imo).

Edit: Game.es also ran out of stock 3-4h after my last reply. Now they're at 250€ for whenever they get new stock...

Edit2: Amazon had new stock. They ran out of it really soon but now they're selling the headsets with the deal for the upcoming stock too so if you're interested you could probably get them with the deal. Link
I have a Odyssey Plus and have just gone through what you're doing.
1) 15' hdmi amazon basic cables did not work for me. The 6' hdmi cable length (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D5H90L4) didn't give me any issues; I was able to play skyrim vr for several hours, no visual or sound issues.
2) I have a 15' active usb 3.0 extension cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0179MXKU8/) that worked without issues for me also. I may just try a normal non-active 6' usb 3.0 extension since my original thought of pairing a 15' hdmi to this didn't work.
3) Just ordered some eneloop batteries+charger to try out here soon. I'm getting an extra set of batters to charge while I use the other set. I can't believe how quickly those controllers EAT batteries.
Had a similar issue. My headset audio would almost always crash and I could only hear static. Then there was about a 50% chance that it would blue screen and crash. I bought a powered USB 3.0 hub off of Amazon, and the issues seemed to clear up.
This is the one I bought. https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Individual-Switches-Included-HB-UMP3/dp/B00TPMEOYM
Good luck
I use these to help with comfort take the pressure off the forehead chap too on amazon well worth the purchase Zeltauto Cable Tie Management Reusable Elastic Fastening Wire Organizer with Buckle (2 Pcs, 1.5 x 16 in) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01G54B68Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_TP1gnwB5FVtDy
Here is an alternative Li-on, that I think would ship to Europe. The charger is a smart charger and charges each of the 4 channels independently, and turns green when completed. These are actually higher capacity (I assume since the charging circuit is external) 2000mAh.

I bought it from american amazon and so far everything works great. Which is good considering no warranty where I'm at. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HS7R1RT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The PCI-E card i bought was a vl805-q6 model, there are no drivers for Win10, so i went with the drivers of Win8. The ports worked fine but they were using 2.0 speed, to do the 3.0 speed, i had to use a thing called VIA USB 3.0 Speeder but that was only IF my PC detected something connected to the USB ports that used that speed.
When i connected the headset, nothing popped up neither in Device Managment, the VIA USB 3.0 Speeder or USBTreeView.
In my friend's PC, i did check Power Managment settings, it was something like USB Slecting suspend setting and i put the setting to disable, still nothing came up when i plugged the headset.
The Windows Mixed Reality Portal on my friend PC had all the checks, so everything in theory was good to go except the bluethooth.
We didnt try reinstalling WMR portal because it was a clean update, he was in like 180X and we went to 1909 update, so everything looked in order.
When plugged into his USB 3.1 and USB 3.0 ports of his motherboard there was no sound and it didnt not appear in device manager.
So i heard that motherboards USB 3.0 or 3.1 are sometimes not enough to power it up and i saw a PCI-E card that reviews said that it was good enough to run VR.
So my question is, should i risk it and buy that PCI-E card and run it from there? Or my headset is broken and i wasted money?
You don't, actually. You can run WMR for steamVR and bypass the portal entirely. The WMR portal is just the front end driver that feeds pose estimation directly to steamvr. It's exactly the same thing as pitool, and exactly the same thing as Oculus home, and exactly the same thing as antvr, and exactly the same thing as vive's driver which just happens to run hidden and doesn't require steam vr for the chinese market. It's exactly the same thing as pico's driver, or nolo's front end, or running psmoveservice... or amd's smartphone... vr thinger. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amd.wirelessgvr or like driver4vr, or kinect2vr, or... they all work the same way. It's a driver interop. In fact, they work on steamvr for linux with some jiggery pokery with no portal to speak of.
It sounds like the videos you downloaded are in equi-angular cubemap format, which is a higher-efficiency mapping than equirectangular. The whirligig beta maybe has that format in there, and Skybox might as well. On Cardboard and Daydream, VRTV definitely has support.
It looks sorta normal when the menu is brought up because video temporarily is set to mono to prevent depth mismatch from the video and menu. The first three faces of a cubemap generally look like about 270 horizontal degrees horizontal and 90 degrees vertical stretched to fit a a full equirectangular frame when viewed as stereo. Try opening an equirectangular video and a cubemap video in VLC to see the layout. Makes sense — a cube can be separated into two “C” shapes, one that is horizontal, one vertical.
Edit: in the future, please include a link to the media with the issue if you can. Helps everyone get on the same page and not offer suggestions that will just waste your time.
Fun fact the Tuscany House was ported to Cardboard.
As mentioned though, Oculus basically killed support for older software. Getting it to work is not really easy.
Pretty much: I carry my Lenovo explorer around in this psvr case. The controllers even fit, though it's a bit tricky. The explorer is actually just a tiny bit smaller at the front/top of the halo, but otherwise seems to be the same.
I bought this one and haven't had any issues:
Keep in mind they specify that there may be a difference based on whether you have a NATIVE (full OS install from disc) or UPGRADE (if you upgraded your OS from, say, Win 7/8). It looks like there is a compatibility difference.
This one is the one I got. Been fine so far have had it around 3 months.
