Been a while since I've got into a random game but I just saw this subreddit existed while I was trying to find a place to hoist this post.
http://www.notdoppler.com/spiderling.php
I found it on RockPaperShotgun. Give it like 5 minutes to start and you'll be hooked. The atmospheric music quickly becomes addicting. Reminds me of a cross between Metroid and Umihara Kawase. It's DEFINITELY inspired by BOTH of those games, unless it's a complete coinsidence.
That sounds exactly like the game Doodle God where you make everything necessary for human civilization to function starting from the four elements. Some combinations of the elements don't really make sense, but it's a good time-killer.
The only real advice I can give is to not spam click.
While I don't know if you are, spam clicking often trains the mind that if you don't get it at first, you always have a second chance, and the place I see this the most is at the buy screen, where people mash the buy button. Instead, try training yourself to click once as soon as the buy button lights up.
There are some online trainers you can use to practice presicion. This is one that I use but there are plenty of others.
The whole point is to train your mind to make the first click perfect, and make it the one you deserve, not the one you need.
For the record, there is a Creeper World 1, which is fairly similar to 3 and had several pieces released as free Flash games, all of which are excellent and will likely leave you wanting more.
> You can make good content out of anything.
I agree with this for the most part. The only exception I would make is games like Swarm Simulator. There isn't even much in the way to look at in this game, so a playthrough would be entirely reliant on the player making interesting conversation. Now this can be done, but it would take a very good lets player to make it work.
Snubby Land actually used to make some pretty great flash games, like the Worlds hardest game (and worlds hardest game 2). If their website is just redirecting to other random websites I'd assume someone else has bought their domain and is just using it to drive up traffic to their other websites. Snubbyland.com is still linked in the menu of previous games which may mean the owners are getting a fair amount of clicks.
This game is the best example that I have ever encountered for an educational game. (assuming it's the thing I think it is, I'm not in a position to actually play it right now)
http://www.notdoppler.com/cellcraft.php
But, it does a great job of balancing educational aspects with a game that is actually fun. I certainly played it initially because of the mechanics and incidentally ended up remembering a lot of my highschool bio.
Nicholas' Weird Adventure is the first one.
Nicholas' Weird Adventure 2 is the second one.
This is a junk website.
This is Earn to Die 2012, not Earn to Die 2, which just came out for mobile.
Just go to NotDoppler.com for Earn To Die 2012 part 2:
I don't get that :( is it supposed to be a sort of 'choose your own adventure' story? It reminds me of this game: http://www.notdoppler.com/aduckhasanadventure.php
Edit: now I think these are a few characters lives crossing with one another. But I think I am missing the bigger picture here.
Based on the description, I'd really like to play this game. I played a TON of flash games in my life, but none that sound this beautiful and hand-crafted! Except for Last Stand: Union City.
I've searched around on their archives, using the scheme http://www.notdoppler.com/2012_1.php , 2012_2.php=February, etc. but found nothing. Sorry couldn't be more help.
Great weapons and damage model.
I assume the lasers are automatic once in the range cone and the cannons are manual firing by the player (or the canon AI misses a lot!). The range cones coming up behind you give you good situational awareness. The arrows to enemy ships could vary in size to show proximity.
The blocky modules reminds me of Galaxy Siege series and Bubble Tank Series. These games might give you some ideas for other offensive and defensive modules.
It would be interesting to add a salvage modules as you shoot off bit of other ships and a repair mechanism. This might add a more interesting subtly to game play then just shoot, loot and shop. More of a borg disable/assimilate and evade to recover.
Above Average Guy: You've been kidnapped and forced to participate in a Japanese game show. http://www.notdoppler.com/aboveaverageguy.php
I had it in mind for a Rage Quit, but you can use it in VS/Go (first to complete the game if you want a long-ish video).
I bet over the next decade or whatever there's gonna be an increase in games like this. It's nice to have predetermined goals to work towards, but sometimes it's nice to make your own with no consequences in an interesting environment. I'm sure there's more, but off the top of my head I can only think of a few: Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life, Minecraft Creative mode (no enemies, infinite resources), and maybe this broswser game called Dust.
For any unlucky souls who haven't played Dust it's a simulator where pixel-sized dots have different properties. Water runs down hill and smooth outs. Seed will grow out of dirt if watered. Ant builds tunnels out of existing materials. Birds fly around and eat ants and seeds. C4 is what it sounds like. Fire ignites flammable things including C4. They even added in a little stick man to add in and walk around the levels.
If you end up going to Dust, look under the screen where it says Game Tips and click to expand it. There are about 30ish "elements" listed there and they give a basic explanation of what each is. I won't tell you how many hours I've wasted fucking around in that game.
Also to add on jbdontbeanass's comment, notdoppler.com has some free stuff. It says they are for webmasters, but I am sure you can download and play them offline.
Burrito Bison
http://www.notdoppler.com/burritobison.php -- good for a few hours, but then... you get to play:
Burrito Bison Revenge
http://www.notdoppler.com/burritobisonrevenge.php
Enjoy wasting hours leveling up that you will never get back.
http://onemorelevel.com/game/spin_the_black_circle
Beat this beast twice. None of my friends have. Two of them got to the last level and couldn't do it.
And here is the second:
from what I can recall, it sounds a bit like try to survive... it's been a while since I've played this game so no guarantees this is the one you're looking for
I don't know any port or even a similar game for phone. But the flash version should still be somewhere on the Internet Edit: wasn't hard to find it! Good ol 2007 flash game. Damn... time flies fast http://www.notdoppler.com/anti-td.php
Not gonna lie, I found this game a lot more fun when I could burn 3 hours on a flash game (e.g. 10 years old), but gamifying the minigames that train your duck is a good starting point:
Motherload is sort of like Minecraft/Terreria and is an old classic.
Miner Dash is a straight MC clone, but I love it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
This is probably the best flash game I've ever played.
The creator turned into a religious nutcase and destroyed all of their music and games to appease god but thankfully forgot about Notdoppler which remains the only place available to play it.
Give it a shot - you won't be disappointed.
Is it Gateway? Or gateway 2, since you seem to recall a sequel.

I wanted to link to it here but it seems that it's not on Mousereaker anymore so Notdoppler gave an error when I tried to get to it. Instead I'll link to the page of search results that i found it on. Maybe that'll help.

My friend pedro. It's a very easy platform shooter in which you can perform al kinds of matrix-like moves with slow motion and stuff. You're nearly invincible and you can just act all cool and go like "pew pew pew" and feel awesome. Link
I have music from Newgrounds going back over 10 years. Here's the first audio file first posted! (from 2003) The earliest ones I have are from 2005 and were featured in one of the SuperCrazyGuitarManiac games.
Phage wars was probably the first game I played in this "genre" of webgame.

Hello, maybe sone late: Playing as NixonRichardo on http://www.zombidle.com and Android mainly sometimes also on Steam or http://www.notdoppler.com/zom all with Berzerk Pals account.
Thank You!
This is an actual screenshot from "Cute Panda Dentist Care", which I included a link to if you want to play. The game is consistently terrifying, and it seems to have been done on accident, which is pretty funny.
Note: I make every effort to programatically figure out if links originally posted to Reddit are still good, but it's difficult.
If the original URL doesn't work, or has been replaced with something else, please help out by searching the Wayback Machine for the URL and posting a contemporary link if you find one. There's also a Chrome Extension which makes this process easy.
Stronghold Crusader HD
Sol Survivor
Battlefront & Battlefront II
Warframe
Symphony
the other Symphony
Lego Star Wars
Audiosurf
Sanctum & Sanctum 2
All except the one I linked are available on Steam.
I'm not quite sure if that's what he means. With the weak WiiU system, those new players will not be getting much of the KSP experience. It wouldn't be as serious as calling SimpleRockets KSP or that time I got clobbered in the votes a few months before Release by saying the demo needed to be updated by linking to this monstrosity, but I see where he might be coming from. On the other hand, the Wii controller method, if it allows you to manipulate IVA controls much like a "real" kerbal, has the potential to make a version of KSP that would embarrass the PC version in some ways. I hope they do that.
Squad is not working on the console versions, the ports have been farmed out to other developers. If he thinks that accommodating the consoles is going to hurt the PC version in any way, he's dead wrong.
You've probably already heard of this but, Super Crazy Guitar Manic Deluxe is a great little browser based Guitar Hero clone (with a good sense of humor too)
I RECOGNIZE THAT CACTUS!
It's from the flash games Cactus McCoy and Cactus McCoy 2! They actually aren't that bad.
Edit: I just realized that a picture of Cactus McCoy from the Cactus McCoy subreddit was posted here, so never mind, I think.
Heres a little game i found http://www.notdoppler.com/stickfiguretestfacility.php
Stick figure test facility its pretty brutal and creative ways and means of stick/cartoon violence so i figured mark would enjoy this of or on camera, some similarities too Henry stick man adventures and dont worry mark there are no wrong answers.... its all just fun hope you and other like it
My two favorites are Fantastic Contraption and Tentacle Wars (not nsfw).
You build in Fantastic Contraption and reach in Tentacle Wars.
Earn To Die 2! http://www.notdoppler.com/earntodie2012-part2.php One of the best games to waste your time on. If you want to have all the vehicles, then you will have to buy the mobile version for .99 cents, but the free browser version is just as good.
Reflect on previous games. Analyze replays, pin point main problems and attempt to improve next game.
I'll also watch streams or youtube videos if I want to know more about certain builds etc.
There are also quite some fun games in arcade to lose some steam. I play Desert Strike HotS to get a better idea of unit compositions and counters and general army positioning. And when I feel like, I will do some micro practices. You can find some good modes in the arcade for this. Knalle Micro Map is a good example, you can train against A.I or a friend.
And occasionally I mix it up with mouse speed and accuracy practices.
So you basically want to make one of those launcher games like Earn to Die or Burrito Bison
Depends on how much graphics are you going to use. if it's a simple sprite moving over background, javasript/will be enough, even without webgl. As it wont hurt to know javascript anyway, it's recommended option.
If you want to make something more complex, like the games I mention (which I doubt, tbh, as you need a designer to draw all the animations), I guess it will be easier to use Flash or Unity.
notdoppler.com New Games Every Thursday. Used to go there daily and get super psyched on thursdays when they release a few more games.
Edit: Revisited site for first time in years; became addicted to a cookie-clicker type game called Swarm Simulator
Mine (for several years) has been Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe 2. It's basically a flash game guitar hero, and it works pretty well. Decent music too
I had the same issue on the clickerheroes website itself. Massively frustrating. Simply cannot figure out why it won't save the game. Have tried numerous browsers and disabled various extensions trying to find a culprit.
My solution was to play it on kongregate or notdoppler. No issues with saving on those sites.
However if there are updates to the game itself (currently version 0.11) then I hope they will also apply to those third party sites too.
www.notdoppler.com has some really good games. I'd personally recommend Raze 1 or You Only Live Once. But be careful with You Only Live Once, because that game is true to its title.
maybe someone has already mentioned it, but The Impossible Quiz and The Impossible Quiz 2 are some of my favorites to always go back to every once in a while
EDIT: yep, I still have all the answers memorized up to 73...feels good man
This Dust game on notdoppler.com, used to play it all the time with my old classmates some years ago. It's amazing how many things you can do and create with all the different particles and substances. I remember when we discovered how to make fireworks fxm. Good times .. :)
Burrito Bison.......This game is AWESOME! i was recommended by another redditor, and i played it for like 5 hours straight. check it out and let me know what you think.
EDIT LINK : http://www.notdoppler.com/burritobison.php
My personal favorites are Click Drag Type 3 (includes all the levels from 1 and 2 as well) and The Submachine Series. Endless hours wasted.
Seriously, why wasn't this one linked? It was three clicks away from the one OP submitted.
EDIT: Looks like tomjack2010 has been spamming iplaycool.com links to /r/webgames. Moderator message time!
