I think it has to do with the custom subreddit style. I opened Chrome dev tools and it looks like a lot of time is being spent rendering/painting the page.
I use RES to disable the subreddit style. If you're on Android/iOS, try one of the many Reddit apps (on Android I use Flow).
I can't go back to anything after using Flow. It's so fluid it's amazing.
The only drawback is that the developer dropped support of it a little while ago. If anyone is listening, please. I'd pay $10 for someone to pick up Flow again, and I bet a lot of people would too since it had a great following.

Reddit client. Doesn't get talked about as much as some of the famous others but it's by far my favourite and I figure everyone here could use it ahah.
I see flair in Flow. It's the closest I've found to Alien Blue, and it's got some neat features like using the volume buttons to scroll through comments (has to be enabled in options).
Not shilling, just recommending a good product.
One thing I've learned is that sooner or later, only the open-source apps will be left. It's inevitable.
As good as any Reddit app can be, it could and eventually will receive the same fate as my all time favourite Reddit app Flow
I would love better list view, why you people who are making reddit apps are so inspired by other apps? I like classic reddit experience, lots of things on one page, small, aligned and cropped thumbnail. For me, one app that delivered but developed lost interest was flow. But you know, this thing is pretty new, so I am looking forward for new versions, you nailed lot of things on first try. Don't take this as saltiness, it is just my 2 cents. So TLDR: make lists more compact and symmetrical, more links per screen.
BBW TTL was first thing to go, but nice feature. Reddit live support is great. Themes... meh, who cares, but that is just me. Good luck!
I use Flow for Reddit. Great and free app. The only problem I had with it, is when using the swipe to load more comments/threads (similar to never-ending reddit).
Rather than swiping to load more comments, just press the button to load more comments and you won't lose your place.
I am on Android and tried so much of those reddit apps but i always came back to reddit is fun. Already had the app on my old iPhone 4... I like the list view/displaying of my reddits. Its really comfortable to browse in it. The only app i had beside reddit is fun was :

PS4 is pretty good! I've been playing Everybody Gone to the Rapture which is fantastic but incredibly non-linear and doesn't hold your hand at all.
Played some GTAO as well and am slowly mastering first-person driving, love the seaplane as well, unfortunately I haven't seen many of my old goats in game and I still need to buy a headset that will work with the PS4.
I went back to using Flow, hasn't been updated in a long time, I'll keep using it as long as it still works, the free gold was nice and all but not enough for me to use the official app.
I've been trying other reddit clients out since this comment starting with slide for reddit, it is a good app and so is flow for reddit but it's interface is very busy, there's a lot going on they actually remind me a bit of alien blue for ios, where as sync and relay are both fairly simplistic by comparison which I like, might give it another go sometime though
I don't like the cards too much... Bacon is more of a list. This actually looks better than Sync and Bacon, I might have to switch.

Apparently Flow and BaconReader are very good.
The third bunch (or just me) is over here thinking about how good Flow is. Haha.
So far I have no complaints with Flow for Reddit. Worth a look.
I thoroughally enjoy Narwhal on my iPhone (but they don't have a app for iPad yet so it's the enlarged version there). Google Chrome has a great App called Reditr which works in Google Chrome in Windows and Mac. Apologies, I don't know much about the droid platform, but I hear flow is where it's at there.

- Sleepbot - Really like how it displays everything clearly. End up moving to Sleep As Android, but I really missed the sleep chart view in Sleepbot. It's clean and simple.
