Okay well I must say that my favorite book is the one I wrote myself. I normally would not promote my own warez, but I think some people here might enjoy it. The title is Grin: The unauthorized Biography of a Cheshire Cat
Use , they don't keep any logs.
Here's a Time Zone converter for you all to reference. This is based on 8pm EST, 13th December 2014
I should be able to make it, as long as I'm not out enjoying brunch at my nephews cafe.
Edit: I'm happy to be on either team that requires numbers, though I would probably prefer to be a Barney. Also, I can record, I will probably setup the Elgato this time so everything can be recorded without incident.
Are there game rules?
I personally think the President should follow a set route, like this for example which the terrorists can camp along. Once the terrorists have had their first strike against the President (but not his protectors) he can change route and go wherever he likes. Also, the president should have a driver (who is also a protector), and can't drive themselves.
Also, once killed, you can't rejoin the fight on respawn for either team and you must go into Passive mode so you can't accidentally interfere?
We should use Part Chat with two teams, but this restricts each team to a maximum of 8 people.
Or is that too much rule wise?
Amazon have the OEM Pro version for $50
It's OEM so you don't get product support but, honestly, who has ever used that for Windows?
Just horse and firespark are good for quick information on things. Vaniverse has some good step by step let's plays. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.innovaptor.ginfo.conanexiles app for the maps resources.
Yeah, I noticed that mistake myself and had to correct it. If you want to see more swedish drinking songs, and have an android device you can try this songbook I wrote for the student union I was in: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.ahlvik.sangbok
It has midi tracks for some of the songs so you can easily find the melody.
Better than a hug! http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/74712/how-to-find-bsod-error-messages/ feel free to send me any info and I'll help sort it out.
also a hug
Can someone explain how the guild bank works please, like what it's purpose is?
Also what purpose is the Dragon Fell Lockboxes without real money to open them as I have 4.
Dude that's awesome! Can I see some?
I'm currently working at V1 Limited as a support technician... The job is mostly user error and product knowledge, but I'm hungry to learn EVERYTHING. Started with SQL, then Reporting Services and now C# and web development. I've learnt lots but still TONS to learn!
Edit: also, even though I already have a job I like I have started making a portfolio for myself. I've started with a OneNote addin that lets you paste rich text!
Hey all! I'm working on a school project and have created a survey to learn more about drinking habits. It only takes about 5 minutes to take and will really help me out! Here's the link!
oooo an Apple II E!!! Fancy!
It should run pretty good it is doom from the 90's. Try downloading it and see how it runs. I'll pm you the WAD files put them in the same folder that Zandronum installs to.
I play on IOS, an older Ipad. There are two games that I find to be 10/10.
The first is FTL:Faster Than Light. It looks like something I could have played on my 386, but it's an engrossing game with a great deal of replayability. If I need to kill some time (sitting while the wife shops or gets her hair done, waiting at a doctor or some other appointment, etc) this is the game I reach for. It's available on PC, Mac, Linux, and IOS. An Android port is still in the works. You can get it here for 10 bucks, DRM free.
The other is Sid Meier's Ace Patrol (PC, IOS). There's a WWII Pacific Theater version, but I prefer the WWI original. This is my game for when I want a bite-sized diversion that I can put back down or be interrupted at any time. It's my choice for play when I'm waiting for something in GTA:Online to load, for instance. You wouldn't immediately think that pairing turn-based strategy and WWI aerial combat would be great, but I simply love this game. The different capabilities of the various aircraft featured are translated in an interesting way, and you have to think a couple turns ahead if you're going to keep your pilots from being shot down.
I can't recommend both games more highly.
I can definitely confirm this as I recently upgraded from a 635 to a 1050 TI and the difference is amazing. I was lucky enough to have some bday money saved up so it only costed me a little bit.
This was the card I got but I'm sure you can find better deals out there. I had to use Amazon because of the gift cards I had.
Yeah remove that shit! If something is free then YOU are the product! Unless its an open source project of course.
If you want to use a VPN use something like Private Internet Access. I use this when downloading stuff.
Elminster in Myth Drannor by Ed Greenwood and Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman.
I don't have time to play Dungeons and Dragons any more, so I live vicariously through fiction. And I like to balance my fantasy with something sciencey.
Edit: I find it interesting that most people either rarely read or they have two books going at the same time.
Look up my colony.
You have to build a base on a planet.
It's not very informative on what and how you're supposed to do it, but if you have the time, you'll figure it out.
There's no micro transactions, and as far as I am aware, there aren't any time restrictions.
I would give it a 7 out of 10 .

Try The Room. It's a fun little 3D puzzle solving game. If you like that one the second and third games are pretty good too. The puzzles can be complicated, but they are simple enough that you make enough progress for the game to feel rewarding.
Its on Android, not sure about iOS though.
PS4 is pretty good! I've been playing Everybody Gone to the Rapture which is fantastic but incredibly non-linear and doesn't hold your hand at all.
Played some GTAO as well and am slowly mastering first-person driving, love the seaplane as well, unfortunately I haven't seen many of my old goats in game and I still need to buy a headset that will work with the PS4.
Sounds good - Here's my current Favorite:
I am really partial to it because well... It was my first app I made.
We do have a Reddit Dads messaging group set up via Palringo. It's a free app for both iOS and Android, it's very easy to use and navigate.
We started using it but it turned into a general chat system rather than for games organisation. It's not being used at the moment, so there's no reason not to fire it up again and give it another go.
<strong>Play Store (Android) link</strong>
<strong>iTunes (Apple iOS) link</strong>
edit: Once installed, just search for "Reddit Dads" and you'll find us!
I haven't played Darksiders II yet but the first one was awesome. THQ may not be around anymore but didn't someone buy the Darksiders IP? I also recall seeing something this spring about a Darksiders 3 being developed.
EDIT
I'm up for anything (except Nightfall/Weekly/Queens Bounties). If I'm alone, online, and my fireteam is set to public, join me and let's do something. If my fireteam isn't public (Friends Only) then shoot me a message first especially if I am in orbit, I may not be around.
At some point I will be practicing soloing Crota, though when I do that I will set the fireteam closed, also if I do that I will be streaming as well (http://www.twitch.tv/xesyliad)
This is my international availability
Though for the US folks, it's:
My weekend (US Friday/Saturday nights) will be somewhat busy, so I can't get stuck on anything like Skolas, but US Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday nights are available.
My primary focus is getting Gjallarhorn (still) so I would like to get 6 raids done (Crota/VoG HM) each character run through, once that's over and done with I'm happy to run PoE 32 and 34. I'm not too keen on Skolas this week, the modifiers still aren't very nice (Angry, not being able to stagger will suck).
What I normally work on is that we're 10 hours ahead of the UK (and 8-9 hours ahead of most of Europe), and we're 17-19 hours ahead of the US.
<strong>Here's a timezone website</strong> that I use, but there's also a heap of free apps for both Android and iOS that will quickly convert from glorious 'Straya time to whatever location you want.
Yep, would love to. I will be online today at about 4:45pm AEST +10GMT (approx 10:45pm Las Vegas)
Sounds like a good plan to me, how about you /u/fatherdoodle ?
Here's a time zone calculator I use to organise events like this
This should be about 11:30am my time if you're in EST.
Thanks, but I know some people depend on doing it at a certain point, and I hate ruining things for people. Oh well, I get back with 29 hours before reset, I hope to squeeze out a VoG before reset, but I have no idea what my chances will be like.
Right - this is all wrong:
Beastie Boys - Ill Communication
Primal Scream - Screamdelica
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Sage Francis - A Healthy Distrust (genius)
Calexico - Algiers
This sucks, because that timeframe is from 4am on the 18th to 10am on the 18th ... it had damn well better end before time, because at 9am I will have GTAV.
If you turn on your console and sign into PSN before maintenance starts, you should be able to start/continue playing through the maintenance period, so there's that.
I've given it to so many people. Heck pm me your address and I'll send you one too. It is so profound. And it would be my absolute pleasure.
And listen, this depression. It's because you're dealing with something. Your body is trying to heal.
Sometimes of course it's brain chemistry. But there are things you can do. Meditation, Buddhism, this book, another book called Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It, simply talking with long-time friends who loved me. So many things helped me get through a really bad time.
My thoughts are with you.
Brother, remember: it's a passing storm.
There's a great book that might help. The Boy the Mole the Fox and the Horse.
You are not your thoughts.
It's this one that I'm talking about.
I thought this was technically SimCity 4, though I could be wrong.
Edit: Upon further investigation - I think you're right, it's SimCity 5, not 4.
Not to whore it around but if you love LOVE Alice in Wonderland, you will love my book. Also if you love anything literature related you will also love it.
Grin: The Unauthorized Biography of a Cheshire Cat
If you have Amazon you can buy a Hardback or I can sell you a softback for $9.99 shipped to you.
To be fair, FIFA kinda screwed USA with the schedule. Germany didn't have to travel, USA did, and had to play in the middle of the god damn rainforest.
> The Group G finale wraps up a grueling travel schedule for the United States, one that required them to trek nearly 9,000 total miles to play group-stage games scattered about Brazil. Furthermore, the Americans played their most recent match in the hot, humid jungle city of Manaus — the four World Cup teams to play there previously lost their following games.
Rstrui is a method for restore the system configuration choosing a past date, i.e. (I want to restore my system state as I had my pc eight days ago, but keeping my files).
After that bunch of senseless words, see this
It's still cheaper than buying a bloody yacht lol.......And at least you can drive this thing.
With mod controlled safety and expansion in mind we have created an official RDAD halo 5 spartan company. It can be found here: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/spartan-companies/reddit%20dads%20alpha
According to your campaign stats, you haven't completed the Reclaimer mission.
I found a couple of forum posts where players stated you need to play all the missions either online or offline, if it's a combination of both the achievement won't unlock.
Either way, you now know that the 5th mission is the problem, so you only need complete that one again for the achievement to (hopefully) pop.

Take the two "/" out of my example above and you get Short link
Here's the description on Amazon:
About this item
I get the feeling it is for 2-4 players, takes about an hour, and might just be the best football game ever!
Obtain permission to hide the package somewhere publicly accessible. Make a puzzle that when worked out, gives gps coordinates to the stash.
Now randomly tweet, facebook or post parts of the puzzle.
First one to solve and find the stash gets the goodies.
It would work similar to a geocache
Thanks! I am currently looking into how to actually pull this off. I would like to have something that everyone can look at as we play, map or something. Found a couple of sites, https://roll20.net/
you can buy it here: https://minecraft.net/store you will have to download and install it on your computer. you can download mods that can reduce graphics and stuff so it can be played on most computers. /u/maxmiline knows more about those mods so you may want to ask him if you are wondering if your pc can handle it.
This. We bought wind machines early on for our kids, but they've since transitioned to just using Google Minis and thunderstorm sounds now (they are 7 and 11 and start it themselves).
One of our family members gave us a set of CDs with classical music on them and we ripped one of the CDs and put them on cheap MP3 players with speakers and would start that when we put them in bed. The consistency of that mixed with the white noise really helped quite a lot.
You could also run a fan depending on where you are in the country, but my wife wasn't big on that in the middle of winter, so we decided on the "physical" white noise machines, then moved to "digital" when that first round died.
We started with something like this, but it has a physical fan inside of it (doesn't really put off any air movement) and the fan eventually started to go bad: https://smile.amazon.com/Marpac-Classic-White-Noise-Machine/dp/B000KUHFGM/
We then moved over to this: https://smile.amazon.com/LectroFan-Fidelity-Machine-Unique-Non-Looping/dp/B00JU8P8VY/
It took a few nights for our daughter to find a noise that she liked with the digital noise machine, as it didn't sound the same, but she likes it now.
I'd recommend started with digital at this point, as if you get physical, you are going to plan on replacing it in the future. There are also apps and such available that do similar. Just remember - if you travel, you are probably going to want to take it with you, so plan on having a "containerized" method for replicating the setup elsewhere.
You mentioned best. I think an Astro Mixamp and headset might be in the running. It lets you control volume and the volume of game chat vs. voice chat by turning knobs. Here's an example.
Ahh. Good luck over there. I would say don't forget about a ssd. That makes a huge difference. This is not really on sale but if you are impatient like me this thing is pretty good. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IO9Y30G/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=laptop0f65-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B01IO9Y30G&linkId=a572af2770630aa344a8420564a28718
My go to remedy is to pop one of these in a glass of water, chug it, skip the coffee, eat a bacon egg and cheese sandwhich (over-easy egg), maybe an energy drink (those mountain dew Kickstarts are good for it), and a hot shower.
Yeah we have all that already. A space cat bookbag by jan sport. Vans cat shoes sponsoring the ASCPA, not one but two different space cat shirts. One simialr to the one in the link and one that is star wars and cats amalgam called <strong>Star Cats</strong>.
sounds like this might be too simple for you but my wife and i love to play Guillotine while having a few drinks after the kids are in bed. Easy to set up and a fun game that can eat up 20 - 30 mins depending. $l14 on Amazon

If you're just entering, a great board game with multiple iterations that never plays the same twice is Betrayal at House on a Hill. I really enjoy it as does the rest of my family.
It is fairly easy to get into and understand(yes, you will have to read the rule book) but the neat thing is that it never plays the same way twice.
The game starts with people choosing their characters and exploring a randomly generated house to gain items, increase their skills, etc. Partway through the game the "haunt" is triggered. When this happens, one of the players betrays the rest and starts to lead monsters and other entities around the board. The win conditions and what monsters the traitor plays are randomly decided by what rooms and items have been discovered throughout the game(with 50 different haunts possible).
This game is really fun and fresh each time you play it. We really enjoy it.
You know that the wolf among us is based off the comic book Fables. I bought this game on the 360 when it came out because of the comic book. Here is the link to the amazon page for it. I highly recommend it.
My daughter and I play Magic and Walking Dead Board Game by Z-man. I was thinking about getting into Catan as well.
Ok all the talk about board games and with a shitty weekend incoming I just purchased Apocalypse Chaos Game (Amazon). The kid loves these types of survival/strategy games but likes them to be co-op. If I remember I will update with my thoughts come Monday.
Nighthawk X6 AC3200 or the D-Link AC3200 are my top choices.
Sennheiser HD 558. I like the open back just in case I hear a crash and I have to pause to go yell at the kids lol. I pair it up with an old mic stand I've had for almost 15 years now, still sounds great tho.
On the nerdy side, I have the book 'Fish' in my laptop bag. It's a proven way to boost morale and improve results. I grabbed it from a bookshelf at work, and I haven't started it yet. I don't know anything about The Goal, but I heard this Fish book is pretty good.
My all time favorite book is Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami. It is neck and neck with Slapstick by Vonnegut.
Has anyone ever read A Child Called it? If you ever feel like crying, give it a read. It is completely insane, mostly because it is a try story.
Edit: make link work
It releases Dec. 1st but you can save $10 with an Amazon preorder
I use this bad boy. It is pretty expensive, but the quality is outstanding, the comfort is perfect, and the psudo-surround is great. I can hear those guys coming up from behind me.
The thing I like is I have a gigantic head so they don't feel like they are squeezing my head.
but seriously, I'd probably avoid the poker tables this trip unless you're okay with losing your money or want to put some serious work in beforehand. Isn't online poker still legal in the UK? If so, I'd pick up and make sure you completely understand the concepts in this book:
download a HUD (heads up display) and play as many hands as possible (like a lot of hours) at very low stakes to get a feel for the game. Go back and study your hand history and think deeply about how you could have approached situations differently. Do all that and you might have a chance at not being a sitting duck.
Otherwise, I'd stick to games where the house only has a slight advantage like Blackjack or Craps, and spend a lot of time hanging out at the sports book. Betting on sports is my third favorite activity in Vegas behind Poker and the Spearmint Rhino.
Wired: TurtleBeach Ear Force P11 (LINK)
Wireless: Sony Wireless Stereo Headset PS3 (LINK)
Both work great, and also plug into my Mac. Both have separate game/chat volume controls, and options to mute the mic. The Sony is more comfortable to wear all around; softer ear cushions, and a wide, soft head band.
If you are going to get those, it is worth the few extra bucks to get these. http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Gold-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-4/dp/B00HVBPRUO/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1427750142&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+gold+wireless+stereo+headset
Red Son, Watchmen,Marvel 1602, the one by Jonathan Ross which name escapes me right now.
Comic books that don't look like comics lol.
EDIT
There's graphic novel versions of JRR Tolkien stories too, here's The Hobbit.
I've been trying to get back into X-Men myself in last year or so. I find that I like collections better than single issues. More of the story, less waiting!
Like this.
Yes. It's my favourite comic I've ever read.
I also love the new 52 justice league comics. I've read volumes 1 to 3 and love each one of them.
Batman Hush Complete TP https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1401223176/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_4-PXub1P28MNP https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1401223176/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_4-PXub1P28MNP
Oceanhorn! It just came out on Android a few days ago I think. It's a Zelda clone and people really love it. I haven't played it yet because I'm waiting for it to come to the PS Vita.
Knightmare Tower is fun. It's free up to a point, then I think it's $3 to unlock the full game if you found you like it. Great time waster.
Unfortunately, you cannot control how others will react to the decisions that you make for yourself. All you can do is manage how YOU react to THEIR reactions. If they get upset and lash out, it is likely not due to malicious intent. Instead they are afraid that if you move, you'd slowly fade from their lives. I'm making some heafty assumptions here, but I think they're just afraid of losing you. And again, you cannot change their reactions or opinions on the matter. All you can do is make sure you do everything in your power to make the transition an easy one. Skype is great, but if your family is not comfortable using it, they might not see that as an option. If this is the case, what you CAN do is spend some time getting them more comfortable with Skype. Start skyping them regularly while you're still home so that they become comfortable with this as a means of communication. Assure them that just because you're moving, doesn't mean that you're out of their lives and make sure that's the case! Send cards for birthdays, presents on the holidays. Call regularly (there's an app that can help remind you when you haven't called your family lately... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tidbyt.callyourmother&hl=en).
But most importantly, you have to make sure that they understand that you're moving not because you're mad and don't want to see them. You're moving because it is the right thing for you to do with your life. Again, they might not understand, and it may take some time for them to come to terms with the decision but if they love you, they will come around eventually. All you can do in the mean time is make sure that you show them how much you love them and how dedicated you are to making sure they stay a part of your life while you're away.
